The significant decrease in the CRS threshold over recent months has come in the wake of improvements to the Express Entry system that came into effect on November 19, 2016. Among other changes, the number of points awarded for a qualifying job offer was reduced from 600 to either 50 or 200 points, depending on the position offered. As a result, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) predicted that ‘A reduction of points to candidates with arranged employment means the CRS cut-off will decline.’

Based on recent draws, it would seem that IRCC’s predictions are coming true.

The fact that the number of ITAs being issued has increased over recent draws, as shown below, is another contributing factor to the decrease in the CRS requirement.

Sir, my post was not intended to offend or look down on @gogedda. Afterall, I am equally here to learn and do not claim any superior knowledge.

However, duplication of questions/answers is a major challenge that has been repeatedly addressed here.

The usual suggestion is that those of us who are relatively new on the thread should at least, make some effort to read the basics before asking questions that already have answers here.

Cheers.

Your questions have been addressed many times on this forum and as recently as the last few pages. It may be tiring to be addressing the same set of questions over and over again.

Thanks for your quick response but I meant the easiest way of getting a UK PCC?
Have any here got it before? Did he/she send a proof of current address?
I have no idea. Maybe you should Google to see if you will get the information. Use the keywords "UK PCC" and "proof of current address".

Good morning all, please who has done UK PCC? Please did you have to provide a proof of your current address? What's the easiest way of getting through this process?
I got the following from one of dupyshoo posts via the "Search" feature at the top of this page. It is a very useful tool.

1. UK PCC is very straightforward. Check this link and follow the instructions on how to go about it. https://www.acro.police.uk/police_certificates.aspx
2. There is no format, just ensure the letter is written on a letter-headed paper and contains the following info: job title, job start date, detailed duties and responsibilities, no of working hours per week, annual salary and contract type.
3. Why will you say the level of cooperation is lacking among Nigerians? I believe this is wrong as a lot of people spend quality time on this thread answering other people questions without anything to gain. With regard to creating step by step instructions, there are several existing blogs with step by step instructions. This link for example gives a lot of details. http://15miles.info/cic-express-entry/

One just has to google it to get the required information. The main issue is that a lot of people cannot be bothered to search for information. Even when the info was posted a page away, they will still ask the same question.

Chei! Congratulations. My transcript just got delivered to iqas today. So I have to wait like 5 days for them to confirm receipt.

Did they send a mail to unilag for confirmation? If yes, how did u follow up on them responding asap.

I hope I would have good news soon too.
You may not have to wait for 5 days, it all depends on their workload.

As soon as I had "proof of delivery" (POD) of my transcript, I sent a copy to them via hellofax and requested that they acknowledge receipt. I also followed up with a phone call. They replied same day.

Please note that the transcript was with them for about 8 days before I got a POD as I didn't get the tracking number on time. They also confirmed to me that they had received a large volume of surface mails around the time.

You don't need to follow up on Unilag for a response. I didn't follow up on my school as well. The important thing is for your transcript to get there.

Don't worry, your ECA is on the way wink

Really appreciate your reply sis. Sincerely I just checked through the pages, didn't read them.....its much for me that's why i asked these questions.
Also, the CRS tool requested foe IELTS and since i don't have it, i just stoped there. In a nutshell, I NEED HELP
Since you already know about IELTS, you can simulate scores and use your educational qualifications to determine your likely CRS scores. Both of you can decide on who should be the principal applicant and schedule a test through the British Council/IELTS website (of course, after thorough preparation).

You also need to kick-start your credential assessment (WES or IQAS) immediately. Check their websites for more information.

Let me emphasise this: There is no shortcut to reading. Either you or your hubby must create time to understand the process if you really want to apply. It is a worthy investment of your time.

Most of the questions that you may have would have been answered on these pages. It's like engaging an Immigration Agent for free.

Take advantage of it. The help you seek is already here.

Hi 40manlappy.
WES just acknowledged receipt of my documents and hubby's. Pls like how long does it take for the evaluation report to be out.
I didn't use WES for my ECA but their website says;

"Processing begins upon receipt and approval of all required academic documents and payment.
Standard processing (20 business days)"

You should get an invitation to apply (ITA) in the next draw if the current trend is sustained. Last draw was 434.

@SlowlybtSurely

Thanks for sharing the above information. Not aware of this until now.

I recommended IQAS as it may allow one to enter the EE pool more quickly, especially in view of lowered scores for ITA. No one knows when the scores may go up again.

From the information that you have provided, if one doesn't mind the cost of reevaluation upon landing, IQAS is just fine.

The ECA that I did through ICAS for my BSc in 2015 took over 6 months! shocked

Incidentally, I had sent my MBA transcript to them for upgrading before I decided to go for IQAS to take advantage of the lowered CRS scores.

Guess I can still complete ICAS ECA later. Anyone that doesn't mind the processing time may go for WES.

@tollu: As suggested by jassymama, you can try an attestation in the meantime.

meagainstdem: IMO, it doesn't matter where you wish to settle down in Canada. You can use either WES or IQAS for your credential assessment.

I will recommend IQAS for quicker turnaround time. My wife's colleague just got her ECA report (BSc+MSc) from IQAS after just 15 working days of processing.

Interestingly, this TAT was stated on their website. WES is yet to beat that record.

Result of IELTS of 4th March, 2017 have just been released. I had a near perfect score which recently expired. Surprisingly, my scores in this latest test is unbelievable, it is ridiculous. How can one go from LRWS 8/9/8/8.5 to 7/6.5/7/6.5 in just about 2 years? Please note that I lived in the UK for the better part of those 2 year period. "I'm not understanding".
Is someone there cooking up scores? If that is the case then IELTS in Nigeria is a scam.
You are not alone. I experienced something similar last month too...
