JesusDWay: The reference letter you will get has to be related to the NOC your application is linked to so, you should get the reference letter from the employer where you worked in such related position.
Ask them to do the letter with the title 'To Whom it may Concern'....you won't need to provide address which will open you up Thanks JesusDWay. Regarding the reference letter (TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN), please I need clarifications on the following: 1. Is the requirement only for my wife who is the principal applicant or I too need to obtain as well? 2. Should the reference letter be from her current employer ONLY or past employers' letters should be included? 3. We have obtained a reference letter in the past for our UK visa applications which was specifically addressed to the Deputy Consular, UK High Commission. Since CIC is also the body that issues tourist visas to Canada, I guess we can as well get the relevant employer(s) to address the reference letter to CIC, right? Kindly enlighten on this. JesusDWay: Being in the pool doesn't stop you from applying, you can go ahead.
Well...just open your account on their portal and fill the information required. You will need to upload your work reference letter, certificates and transcripts, copy of your birth certificate and the data page of your international passport. Nothing much Thanks JesusDWay @the bolded above: You mean my current employer should give me a reference letter? You know how employers behave when they have information that you are proposing to leave? How feasible is that? Or previous employers? Your response would be appreciated. |

JesusDWay: You don't have to be in the pool, it's not Express Entry related. In addition, i'll say you complete the application process for this programme first before choosing to enter back into the pool. This is because they usually say one must demonstrate that you are really going to stay in their province and if they ask if you are in the pool and you indicate yes, it may be a risk because they can take it as an indication that you have interests in other provinces as well and as such, your chances of coming to their province is slim. This may make them not take you so, i suggest you apply to them first and see how it comes out before entering the pool. Although, your decision may be a bit compounded if your new IELTS will make you score sufficiently to get an ITA soom, in that instance, YOU ARE THEN ON YOUR OWN My wife and I are already in the pool, does it mean that we are not qualified to apply for the Saskatchewan Nomination Programme? Since you have applied before, practical tips are welcome please. |

mrsdee: The ielts result needs band 7 in each to obtain the 10 points. It seems your wife has a better chance of getting positive assessment because she is chartered.
2. Who has better chances of securing Australian PR so that he/she can apply on behalf of the family? 3. How much are we supposed to have as a "proof of fund"? Thank you.
No proof of funds required.
You can read the thread and understand about the process. Also, there is a chartered accountant here that can throw more light about assessment for accountants.
My 2k contribution. All the best. Thanks Ma'am. I initially missed your response because I was not mentioned. God bless you! I will find to read more comments on the thread today. I just searched for this thread because my wife and I are considering Australia PR as an alternative to the Canadian Express Entry. Thanks for your selfless services.
I would be glad to get your suggestions on the best route to take on our proposed application considering the information below:
I am 36 years old while my spouse is 32. We both have 8 and 6 years of experience in the financial services sector respectively. She is a Chartered Accountant; it would appear that the skilled occupation relevant to her is Accountant (General): 221111.
I have had a few years of experience as a Branch Manager in the banking industry. Though my role has been changed to a "Relationship Manager", I also figured that the most related skilled occupation class (CSOL) is Financial Institution Branch Manager: 149914
My overall IELTS score was 7.5 while that of my wife was 7. My qualifications include BSc, MBA while my wife has BSc and ACA. Our academic qualifications had earlier been assessed by ICAS to be equivalent to the Canadian 4 year Bachelor's degree program.
My wife was the principal applicant when we applied for the Canadian Express Entry because of some perceived advantages (age, occupation). We are a family of 4.
My questions are: 1. With the information that I supplied above, what are our chances under the Australian Migration programme? 2. Who has better chances of securing Australian PR so that he/she can apply on behalf of the family? 3. How much are we supposed to have as a "proof of fund"? Thank you. |

Australia generally is one of the most expensive country to live in the world. This depends largely on where you live. For example, Sydney cost of living is huge. What kills here majorly is the cost of rents. And even at that, it depends on where you live in Sydney.Minimum wage in Australia currently is AUD 16.87/hrMinimum wage in Canada currently is CAD 11/hr
Employment Situation
Regarding employment for prospective overseas Engineers, I would say it depends on your skills and your experience. Some people were employed directly from Nigeria to work here even without PR. I know of a Mechanical Engineer that got job 7 days after he arrived and some 1-month or two etc. However, do spend several months before they get their dream jobs. Anyway, things have changed a bit because market isa bit flooded particularly for Telecom Engineers. Although there is this ‘local experience palaver’ which most Australian employers value so much. It was when I got in that I discovered why they value it so much. Different work ethics is one of the reasons. If you have worked in places like the UK,US etc. You won’t find it difficult as such when looking for jobs. In Nigeria, we are jack of all trades so to say, but here thereis clear delineation of duties. In some cases, you are expected to focus on your area only. Back in Nigeria, I was doing planning, project engineering, support etc. but when I got here,I focus only on designing, less stressful so to say. Having said that, there are skills and experience in Telecom engineering that are not in demand such RF,CORE and BSS. It willbe easier for someone with transmission (Not Microwave) experience coupled with IT to get something than a RF Engineer or Core Engineer.I know few Nigerians working in Oil and gas, IT, Construction industry and also Telecomms. Generally, the strategy is to have Australia standard CV, relevant certifications and not minding starting afresh or do an internship and possibly volunteering jobs. Taking up a volunteering job will fetch you Australian experience. If you educate me more on your skills and experience, I will be able to advise you. Business › Union Bank Emerges Top SME Bank by 40manlappy(op): 9:21pm On Sep 12, 2015 |
Leading retail lender, Union Bank Plc. has been adjudged the ‘best bank to support small, medium scale enterprises (SMEs)’ in the country.
The award was presented to the bank during the annual banking award organised by Business Day Newspapers in Lagos.
Speaking after receiving the award, the Head of Retail Segment – SME, Mr Rabiu Tata said this award is a clear indication that the bank’s transformation they have been working hard at for the last two years is yielding positive results and the bank is on the right path.
“Our goal is to build a simpler, smarter bank, focused on delivering value by providing quality financial solutions to its customers in retail, commercial and corporate banking segments across all industries” he said.
He further explained that the Union Bank has been an avid supporter of small businesses throughout its history and this award shows that the bank would continue to do so. Small and Medium Enterprises are the engine of any economy and when they succeed, we succeed and Nigeria succeeds as a whole.
Speaking also on the award, the banks Head of Corporate Affairs & Communication Ms.Ogochukwu Ekezie-Ekaidem commended all stakeholders for their support and loyalty.
“This SME award is another signal that the Bank’s transformation is on the right course. One of our critical focus areas as a Bank is to significantly improve our customer experience at all touch points, and our product and service offerings is one of the first phase of improvements and this has clearly yielded the desired results with the bagging of the SME award. As we have done with our product and service offerings, Union Bank will continue to work to provide quality banking services and improved customer experience to all our customers and stakeholders across all our touch points,” she concluded.
Union Bank has always been a proud supporter of SME’s. In 2014, the bank was given the CBN’s Best-Support Bank on ACGSF (Agricultural Credit Guarantee Scheme for Farmers) award for the 8th consecutive year. justi4jesu: Wakanow bookings are mostly cheaper than direct airline booking because they are given discounts already by Emirates/Etihad and they also have last minute deals. So I advice you go with wakanow if its convenient for you and your family. You can get the best booking advice from Wakanow customer service agents, they should know better in that aspect but I also know tickets are less expensive when you book in advance. Qatar is cheaper than Emirates and its cool, Thank you very much. I have never even thought of Qatar Airways. |

@justi4jesu, justwise, other gurus in the house....
I was glancing through the previous thread (part 1) before I came across this one.
My family is planning to go for vacation in Dubai in 2 months time and would like your advice.
We have been visiting Wakanow, Emirates and Etihad websites but here is a dilemma: we were able to "book" for flight tickets, hotel and visa easily on Wakanow but we found it difficult navigating on the websites two aforementioned airlines apart from tickets.
I am of the opinion that booking directly (tickets, hotel and visa) through the airlines could be cheaper but my wife suggests that we stick to Wakanow. What are your practical experiences? How can we successfully book visa and hotel on the airlines' websites apart from tickets?
We are looking at November and would prefer an hotel apartment that would allow us take care of our meals apart from breakfast. Also, is it cheaper to book now? When is the ideal time to book? A friend said that airline tickets are cheaper on Tuesday nights but we are waiting to find out. We are a family of 4.
Would appreciate a quick response. Thank you. |

PMB has unwittingly given Union Bank free publicity. #Union Bank is now trending on Twitter, BBM and other social media. Along with it are interesting memes. It is unlikely that they were sanctioned by the bank because their payoff line is now "Building a Simpler, Smarter Bank" and no longer "Big, Strong, Reliable". I am sure that any other Nigerian bank would have maximized this free publicity fully Will Union Bank cash in on this publicity? Copying: lalasticlala, Seun
