adonbilivit: popular sayings are usually used when making a speech, advising people and the likes but some don't sound right. here are the three major ones that i disagree with:All the sayings your quoted as not sounding right were grossly misunderstood bt you; its most likely due to lack of grasp of the issues of the lireary context in which they proceeded. Its likely you won't understand when sages sat "to live is ti die"..... When they said the patient dog eats the fattest bone...I nver had a dog but what the traditional dog gets before the dog food came is whatever is leftover from the master's table: scraps of food and of course bones with some scraps of flesh......I don't know if dogs chew the bones and swalllow but what then "the pateint dog eating the fattest bone" is just underlying the fact that if you persevere at something without giving up it will pay off very well |
datribune: dis election shall be a referendum on performance while in govt office. Wit no visible achievement, I can not in good conscience vote 4 GEJ. Just as he once rescued Nigeria frm d hands of d most wicked set of criminals & looters masquerading as politicians of d defunct NPN under Shagari, he shall rescue us frm d weakes, most corrupt ,effeminate, & clueless leader in nigerian history. Contesting under any platform, Buhari has my vote anyday anytime. The politcal class we have now are of a feather!!! I campaigned for buhari in 2011 but after four years, after seeing how buhari reacted to the post election violence, his highly belated condemnation of boko haram I am convinced that buhari's so-called clean hands while in power are not so clean after all. As for GEJ I have never been his fan but I admit the guy's adminstration is comparatively better than those of his predecessors, remember the amount of distraction he has faced from the beginning of his tenure. I deem GEJ as a lesser evil thus I'd rather not vote at all than vote for buhari ! I f I see any credible person like Pat Utomi, even though I know he may not win, I will vote to encourage that candiidancy |
Wa gba mi l'eti kin d'olowo!!! |
Atiki really has energy but I know his target is 2019 he is just promoting his candidacy against 4 years time. By 2019 sef peeps like Tambuwal and Ribadu would cut it more than him He should read the writing on the wall and go and rest |
ronald4lif: Well, my apologies if I sounded offensive. The undisputed fact still remains that sex is enjoyed by both sex and not only to men so the discuss of one gender rejecting it should never have arise. Myself and most guys (and I am sure you will agree too) out there will hardly have money and refuse to share with our woman if the needs arises. I know there are some naturally stingy guys but here is about the majority of us. The reason why guys resorted to taking of their women as a bait for sex for favours is apparently from bitter experience. A lot of us have put out our all financially in a relationship only to be jilted at the end, many were deceived by the 'wait till our wedding before sex talk' in the past and lessons learnt. The speed at which a lady quits a relationship when sex wasn't involve is different from the speed with which she calls it quits when there was sexual encounters. Hence, guys unanimously decided that I will spend no problem but not without eating the cookie so that in events of a break up no one feels cheated.I will never support. Pre-marital se.x thus this thread and the one it intended to counter are toltally un-called. Why I quoted you is that I am very impressed with the way you build your point and amalyse....seriously am very impressed |
isaactolu: MTN is one of the most innovative and creative brand in Nigeria, I know a lot of you have issues with them (including me) but that does not deny the fact that this company has been proven time and again to be miles ahead in creativity and innovations. From their advertisements, their value added services, community projects to their talent hunts and reality shows am sure you will agree with me that they are a genius or let me say they have some genius handling these areas because in some other areas, hmmm you and I know MTN ‘na wash’. A lot of us still remember the“Chris, where is the phone” advert not to talk of the more recent Saka I don port ooo advert, the truth be said MTN makes us enjoy watching adverts on TV, not to talk of ‘Who Want To Be A Millionaire’ show and their Project Fame West Africa is undoubtedly the best among its peers. This post is coming 2 years late as MTN began this new structure since season 5!!! I frowned against it but MTN knew about the consequences, positively and negatively: they knew it will fetch them more bucks but they are also smart enough to ensure that the best talents are always saved, This is about making their brand popular and they plan to use the voting to slash the cost of hosting the expensive show. My ONLY issue is that I strongly doubt the veracity of those compling the votes.....for with this business minded firms they are hardly honestly. For me etisalat voting seem truer as the best seems to not win simply becasuse they stuck to the votes each contestant got. MTN is so predictable able, Emeka is the one going to win this season no doubt but only after MTN has gotten enough cash from the votes cast for him through his sheer popularity.....am a business man and I cannot fault that what I fault is the mutlple voting thing and also the fact that the final result always looks "zoned"; marvellous did better than ayo, but Ayo looked better to showcase as the winner; same too olawale last season, they wanted a different personality last year as the winner. The perfect project fame would be one that had the initail structure of probation and one that allow "one man, one vote" |

Well I don't know much about garri business but generally Volume of turnover remains key! Is the garri available in bags or is his target market the direct end users? If that is so he has to dom more campaign detailing why Koko Garri is much more of value than the usual garri sold already. He should lso note that Koko garri is not the first Sachetted Garri in the market! He shoullf realise the way fans buy his CDs may not dig his garri For me he should try selling his future products without the KOKO tag cos like it or not a person who feels DBanj is not doing good music would think his garri or whatever he wants to sell is not as good! OR any problem the KOKOMASTER suffers will affect his brand so the koko concept can be counter-productive afterall Good entreprenuership drive from Dbanj after all said, but you will have to pay your dues all over again in the busiiness world! |

cramjones: I know the Obasanjo family very well..and a personal friend to Iyabo...I a number of personal things she allegedly said are true (not all). However, I don't think she wrote them, someone that knows some of these details may have fabricated it. Iyabo is a well trained Yoruba woman and the last thing she will do is to ridicule her father in public.Mister Man are you okay? Iyabo wrote an Open letter to her Dad and a reputable Media house like Vanguard publishes it and stands by it and You still say all your saying? Wake up and smell the coffee!!! |
If u love noise, you will love the man who hails himself as eja nla If u love music you will love the man fans dubbed 2BABA Eface has the skill to write beautifully from an acute world view shaped from personal experience |

ahmedio: Note the following scripturesYou seem to be anxious to call a dog a bad name and hang it! I am Catholic and I do not regard Mary as the Way, the Truth and the Life.....please take note |
First of all I don't like the title of this thread: "Bitter Truth" I understand where the OP is coming from but my dear that phrase sounds as if you wanna force something unpleasant down another's throat I still find it tragic and sad that people allow the writings and mere words of their religious leaders to make them stop the application of reason and commonsense in living out their God-given religious impulse when they can search on their own and verify things for themselves I can't understand why many who say that have an encounter Jesus still feel upset that His mother is being highly regarded; it only tells me how inadequate your Christian experience still is! If Christ is a daily experience for you then you won't have only high esteem for the Mother of Christ but all the great cloud of witnesses that have come to belief in the fact that that "Mystery" that made and sustains creation, that whom we call God, intervened in human history, in the Person of the man, Jesus of Nazareth! The issues I see here is a confusion of Faith, some posters objecting that Mary cannot be addressed as the Mother of God because Jesus himself is not God!!! Sorry sir you are not a Christian o! Christianity is not a religion of the book because Christianity (which is basically hinged on that God became Man in the person of Jesis, ultimately revealing Himself to Mankind as a fulfilment of His revelation with the Jewish people) is not about quoting and quoting scripture and end up confusing yourself and having no true faith in Jesus as God's revelation to Man; Did Peter quote the bible to convince anybody about the Messianic Mission of Jesus, definitely in trying to point out to his jewish contemporaries he quoted the Torah, Peter only announced what he has encountered; even Jesus did the same when He quoted the Prophet Isiah when He declared that "the Spirit of the Lord was upon me and He has sent me to bring Liberation to prisoners....." The Truth about Jesus is communicated from person to person through the Working of the Holy Spirit, not by arguments and logic! I risk deviating from the issue of this thread so I stop here! Mary is a believer in the Divinity of her own Son, whom she took care of as any mother would take care of her baby; that Woman saw so many things that many of us did not and still run our mouths without a thought! Things that made her "pomder in her heart" as the gospels put it As each of us are born to fulfil a task in this world, her task was extra-extra special thus God prepared her exceptionally to conceive, bear and nurture Christ, the Son Of God, True God from God, Light from Light, con-substantial with the Father, not made, He who through all things were made; yet she had the freewill to say No to the great call of God on her life and she said Yes, with all the humility she could muster: "Behold the Handmaid of the Lord, be it done to me according to thy word" and thus gave the world its Redeemer!" Mary was not a surrogate mother and baby-sitter to Jesus, She is a woman of great Faith who, Elizabeth praised by saying "Blessed are you who believed that what the Lord promised you would come to pass". And sharp-sharp this gorgeous woman would re-direct honour to God when she said "My soul glorifies the Lord who has done great things for me, my spirit rejoices in the Lord my Saviour".......and she even foretold that under the unction of the Holy Spirit " that all Generations shall call me blessed" .....if you wish keep on resisting the Spirit by not acknowledging and honouring the Mother of the Redeemer!!! It was at an Owambe at Cana, when the drinks ran out suddenly, Through her absolute Faith in her Son, she even "compelled" Jesus to work His very first Miracle which signalled the beginning Jesus' Messianic Ministry! A mysterious dialogue would ensue between Jesus and His Mother, for a moment we thought Christ would ignore her request appearing so banal but she went ahead and told the servants to 'do whatever he tells you" (note the confidence, she knows her Son would never refuse her nothing!!!) Later Six stone jars were filled with water by the stewards at Jesus' command and the water blushed at His command into premium wine...... If you truly know Jesus as the Love of your life and as the Light of your world, if you know Him as the Joy of your heart and as that presence that completes and fulfils your human structure for happiness and freedom you would not be able not to regard and thank not only Mary for saying Yes to God, you would salute her great courage for risking her life of being stoned to death for concieving outside wedlock and her trust that God will take control Christianity is not about buying Jeep and shouting praaaaaaaaaaaaaise the Looooooord in your church (God blesses all of His children Atheists and all!) or mot dying until you are a 140 years or dealing with witches and casting imaginary demons..... Can we dare to ask, seek and knock for more? |

I am not a fan of GEJ a bit, I will not cast my vote for him next two years BUT looking back since 1999 when it comes to not tibkering with the electoral process, and facing the electricity challenge, Agricultural and petroleum reforms he has done better than his predecessor I'd rather 'waste' my vote on Pat Utomi and his likes with the hope that they won't be discouraged by a despairing electorate GEJ is not a Mandela he is just a victim of power who does all he does just to remain in power........Mandela set an example of what leadership is thus he won't remain in power after sacrificing 27years of his life in a small concrete wall cell! If GEJ can fix up INEC make it truly independent enough so that the electoral process would be one that ensure that the best people win then I will kneel before him and kiss not his feet but the very grounds he threads |
Nigeria is in the second round |
Airtlel just have to upfrage their network I use etisalat but its so wrong what this Telcos are doing to Nigerians can you imagine that when I went to kampala to meet up with some friends 2 years back Airtel fgves the Ugandans unlimited calls for 7 days for like 450 naira and MtN similar, Uganda is about 20million people witha far lower economic of scale to Nigeria; Airtel Kenya currently sells Data for like N30 for 50MB on net calls like 2kobo/second! I want to be believe whatevker extra costs they incur on diesel and generator servicing should be offset by the massive Nigerian Telco market......we may just have to get power running better and see what excuse these fat cats will come up with..... Meanwhile I stick to etisalat and Mtn for data and Airtel for calls, they still have the lowest fates at the moment |
