Got my Jamb admission letter in 1999 to study my first choice in UI at my first attempt.....truly hardwork pays!

These days all these boys are just day dreaming about how to poke this girl or that one and sagging their 2K jeans to show their dirty boxers instead of reading their books they rather look for short cuts.....somehow I appreciate that their socio-cultural milleau has changed drastically yet that is no ample reason to wanna put the cart before the horse! Every age had its own challenges too!

Sleeping with a girl in her early twenties is the easiest thing as many of the girls are really cheap, broke and empty-headed without a clear focus in life, peer-pressure and the psychological curiosity for adventure makes it a walk over!

Sad but true, You don't even need to have a car or a crib or cash sef all you need to have is the same empty-head that way the communication is easily understood!

Mature peeps are individuals who have have ripened in self-awareness, sef-dignity, are capable of taking responsibilty for their decisions, are largely independent emotionally, economically and psychologically! Well Fashola is to me a hardworking and a visionary adminstrator but he is hardly a sincere leader but then it may be due to his relationship with the power-consumed Tinubu!

A sincere leader does not want to do all the job that needs to be done; for instance why does the state government tar street roads which is for the local government; right now the ministy of works from alausa is mending the street gutter in my neighbourhood!!!!

If APC can not be taken seriously by me until they allow the local government take care directly of there areas!
Local Governments are so messed up owing to the vampirish presence of the corrupt state government!

Based on the fact that Ngige won at the senatorial level 2 years back against a figure as Dora, rigged or not!

It only shows that he has a strong machinery running but the gubernatariol is a larger battle field and the APC platform being percieved largely as one that is anti-igbo is not going help matters!

I will want Ubah of LP to win, Nigeria would do with new crop of young and outta-box-leaders

Having being a nairalander over the years, its been a source of getting the latest gist about the goings on in Nigeria and globally and braodening my scope and engaginging in mind-sharpening arguments......

That said I wanna talk about numbers 2 and 3

On number 2, I think the feeling is mutual in the heart of both countries' citizens'. Same way nigerians feel that ghanaians hates them is the same way ghanaians think that nigerian hates them. The fights/wars are mostly fought on the internet and it's not that serious offline. People tend to exaggerate matters when it comes to nigeria vs ghana. From the tales I have heard offline, ghanaians live peacefully with nigerians. Though there might be seed of discord from time to time( hatred/enviness is bound to spring out from one individual or the other), I think the nigerians and ghanains live in concord more than unconcord

On number 3, is that not the same fate in nigeria and MOST AFRICAN COUNTRIES?. Go to SA, the whites lords over the blacks. Here in nigeria, the white man is taken like a demi god. Paid higher/earn higher in their positions. And nigerians copy the white men too. From lifestyle to fashion sense and what not. I think it's an african thingy it's pathetic!!. Black need to liberate themselves from the "slave mentality". Nothing wrong in copying the white men but we shouldn't loose our minds while copying them most importantly we shouldn't loose our "core values" upon which our "africanness" are built

Is that too much to ask? ? If you want to be "equal" with men in terms of the 'privileges" men enjoy, then you should also be equal to men in terms of responsibilities, duties, and most of all, FINANCIAL EXPECTATIONS! When last did a hot 21 year old girl bear the financial burdens (including hanging out and 'dating' expenses) of a 25 year old guy? We're in Nigeria, not Norway or Sweden!

I enjoyed reading through your post as it brought a number of elements that is overlooked but I can see you overlooked the fact that women 'win bread' too; some women don't need your money cos they make more money....stories abound where women single-handedly foot the marriage expenses; women contribute in the wooing process firstly by the way they carry themselves, they work harder in taking time to appear well, at other times by the green light they give subtly, even the stress they make us pass through is only a test to verify our intentions.....if u were a woman you would not just say yes to any guy who walked up to you and tell u they like you!

Point in focus: that a man is expected to woo the woman, pay the bride price, win the bread....that is his role by default just as it is for a woman to conceive, carry the baby to term, nurse him and worry their souls out about things only mothers alone knows!
