teejay119:So did Samuel say when he first saw Eliab. 1 Samuel 16: 6 And it came to pass, when they were come, that he looked on Eliab, and said, Surely the LORD's anointed is before him. 7 But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart. |
almondjoy:no wahala. I have not endorsed Obama either . . . i have adopted the customary Nigerian attitude of siddon look. I have said 100x and i wont repeat it again, you cant remove US troops stationed abroad . . . they are there for strategic purposes. . . that the rest of u cant see beyond ur noses is not the fault of the government. These troops have been there since WWII, why have they now suddenly become a burden on the economy? Clear sign u dont know what u are talking about. |
Tayo-D:lets back up here a little . . . What were Bush's policies on those same issues in 2000? |
holythug:I doubt if u understood a WORD of what Samba said. |
almondjoy:I ask again . . . do you know Clinton's policies? What of those of McCain? Besides poverty what were Edward's (a late disciple of the gospel according to change) policy statements? |
almondjoy:And does Clinton offer that which you seek? Herein lies my problem with the anti-Obama bandwagon . . . they accuse him of little substance . . . clinton is hardly any better. If Obama had talked about bringing the troops home in 60 days he'd have been resoundly torn apart by media hawks. almondjoy:those are NOT your sentiments at all. almondjoy:what do you mean? there have been US troops all over the world since WWII . . . how did that affect the US economy? |
efuah:abeg . . . someone just asked me if i was crazy. You got me laughing so hard. @ topic . . . . o boy whether na 6 or 8 packs you deserve an award. Funniest thread on Nairaland ever! |
Hot.Funmi:did you know that gluttony and unhealthy eating habits are a sin? Hot.Funmi:this is a tough question but i believe strongly that as long as both married partners are comfortable on their marital bed . . . then they are free to approach sex however they want it. |
Hot.Funmi:the bible is a wonderful book. Please peruse through Romans 14. It perfectly addresses this question, you can always substitute meat in that chapter for smoking or drinking. titus 2: 8 is one verse you may also want to consider looking at. |
Hot.Funmi:It is not clearly written that it is a sin but anything that defiles your body (the temple of the holy Ghost) such as smoking is a sin. I certainly would not want this to turn into a religious discussion but permit me just this post: The wages of sin is death (Romans 6: 23) . . . does that mean God does not love the sinner? Unfortunately the only way the blood of Christ shed on the cross avails for the sinner is only if he/she repents of sin . . John 3:16. Its just that simple . . . you sometimes dont need the bible to put things in plain english for u before u begin to connect the dots to understand what it says. Back to the topic . . . even moralists and atheists think smoking is wrong . . . |
Dont misquote the bible . . . Love covereth all sins only in the event that the sinner recognises his sins and is repentant. In that regard . . . no amount of love will make me marry a smoker. |
4 Play:You do have a point, i however disagree with the general idea that because he has the power of oratory he thus lacks substance. Clinton hasnt said anything of substance to wow us over . . . we are still waiting. She has had 35yrs in the corridors of power, besides being efficient nothing else stands her out. |
moneybags:If you read one of my earlier posts i made an excuse for a woman who is sick, on her period or tired. the point is even as a guy there are times when sex is the last thing on ur mind . . . its a matter of compromise and understanding ur partner. Of course when she's pregnant the most important thing is not whether the fellow down south wants some action BUT her health and that of the baby. Sex can always wait. R-Dynamite: ![]() efuah:close ur eyes . . . didnt u say i was single, free and ready to mingle? ![]() |
almondjoy: almondjoy:It is this kind of inferiority complex and reverse racism . . . that wants to make me puke in disgust. almondjoy:I certainly am not with you because you are sounding very naive right now. Why bring the troops back from Germany? Wont you pay their salaries and allowances even if they were here? You have to realise one thing, those troops are not just there drinking whiskey . . . they are there as part of a military strategy to keep the Russians in check. Do you know that it takes 8hrs from the US to Europe by air? It is imperative that the US maintains troops abroad in case it needs to defend itself or its allies. The smartest way to fight a war is to make sure u do so on ur enemies territory. Not even hillary clinton is seeking to remove troops from Germany or Japan. About Iraq? Even if they have a plan today it will be stupid to make them public and thus give ur enemies plenty of time to strategise. |
And who is supposed to be the sacrificial lamb in all these?Gbam! you sef talk am. this is Obama's viewpoint . . . when he indicated he was willing to speak to Iran and Syria WITHOUT conditions . . . america and Hillary Clinton said it was evidence of his inexperience. |
almondjoy:Look at the big picture. You are crying about "huge defense spending" . . . have u asked urself how much of the Chinese and Russian budgets go to defense? America can only afford to cut its defense spending at its own peril. Live with it. almondjoy:And are those troops "idling" away a problem to you? They are there to give the US a strategic military advantage. Perhaps you are also against the building of a European missile shield by the US too? Kenya was minding her business when she was attacked, Spain, Indonesia, India . . . all were minding their business before the were attacked. Quit talking about what u know nothing about . . . China is growing as a threat to the US . . . both economically and militarily. |
almondjoy:the issue of illegal immigrants is a complex one that will take a lot more than just one person coming up with policy statements to win elections. Bush has been president for 8 years . . . what was his own plan for tackling illegal immigration? There are more than 12million illegals . . . can you just start shipping them home? Hillary Clinton is touting a health care program . . . the same one that failed woefully when Bill was president? Abegi! You say hillary has experience . . . the experience of voting for an uneccessary war in Iraq? Soon she'll be voting to send missiles to Iran. |
almondjoy:Keep the noise decibel up, that's what you excel at. People like you only started following politics after the hysteria began. Prior to Iowa Clinton was running on the ticket of experience . . . she didnt switch to a message of change until Obama began using it with devastating effect. MCcain is standing for change? dont make me laugh pls. Watch his speeches instead of saying anything u feel on the spur of the moment.almondjoy:The question you shld be asking is HOW and WHAT ARE THE CONSEQUENCES? You cant just withdraw troops within 60 days . . . will the Iraqis be ready to take over security of their country within 60 days? You have to worry about Iran moving in to fill that vacuum, al qaeda insurgents using an unstable Iraq as a base to launch further attacks. It is easy to line up behind a naive woman who cries about bringing in the troops in 60 days . . . welcome to another Afghanistan. |
hotfunmi, i wonder whether you had brothers at all. Many Nigerian men do all and more household chores than you think. I cook very well (if i am allowed to blow my own trumpet) . . . i trust my cooking a lot better than that of any woman. I have done a wee bit of baby sitting myself (i dont like changing diapers though), i clean house, do laundry . . . Give us some credit . . . we dont just sit there with a soda watching the UEFA champions league. Maybe i shld just get a pankere for you at this point for any time you open another thread seeking to slander men. |
almondjoy, you love to talk so much twaddle . . . what does Clinton stand for? Pls give me one policy of hers that makes sense. What did JFK stand for in 1960? |
efuah:there must be something wrong with that woman then. |
skyone:have you ever read AND UNDERSTOOD John 6? Jesus Christ was reprimanding the jews for following Him NOT because they wanted to hear the Word but because they wanted more free food. He wasnt commending them for following material things bros. You people and twisting of scripture. skyone:Gimme a break pls . . . read the gospels, where did Jesus Christ or the apostles equate "great and mighty works" to the size of their buildings? skyone:the purpose of that building WAS partly to get into the guiness book of records. skyone:Its not about winning but about making sure that detruth and his ilk do not continue to propagate this heresy about "great and mighty works" being about architectural feats. |
Kobojunkie:you forgot the most classic excuse . . . we the people are the problem with Nigeria. |
Hot.Funmi:i'll personally see to it that u get the pankere u will need. ![]() |
rjimid . . . jealous of what? Face it! Most women in Nigeria will do ANYTHING to be able to settle in the US or Europe . . . if it takes marrying a foreigner they've never met then they will do it. If you are lucky and this woman truly loves you then good luck. @ tpia, it could be love and i may be wrong. I just think u dont lose anything by being on guard. Whatever rocks rjimid's boat. |
Its only a matter of time . . . the name "Jesus Christ" will soon become outlawed. |
Uche2nna:who cares whether i judge or not . . . more often than not it always turns out to be a scam. If rjimid is lucky to be chatting to someone who exists and truly loves him them good luck. It pays however to be very careful. |
tpia i'd say most are interested in foreigners . . . just watch the way they swoon around half-caste guys or even blacks who speak like foreigners. The only hindrance is what 4Play hinted on earlier . . . a woman is only as good as the man who approaches her. |
rjimid:on a lighter mood . . . now why will a warri girl be interested in an uncircumcised philistine? rjimid . . . welcome to the world of faceless Nigerian women who are more interested in ur passport and cash than ur professed love. |
4 Play:Sad but true. Perhaps this is at the root of many of those pretending to be seeking "another minute with Nigerian men" on this thread. |
D-reloaded:the key there is the word "most". |
4 Play:It also works both ways . . . most of the nigerian women who claim to want to "know" . . . who claim to be concerned that nigerian men are more willing to slave for foreign girls are simply two-faced. Many would drop their pants for a white boy in a flash . . . however since they know they cant get that chance (no thanks to their low self esteem . . . cloaked by pretended aggression) . . . they hate on others with foreign partners. the only difference between a white girl and a naija girl is simply the color of their skin, sometimes the white girls tend to be even more desperate to make u happy. The nigerian chic on the other hand . . . God help us! |
