Lampard in that midfield is the reason u play so badly. What is SWP doing in ur team?
Top teams dont necessarily play midfielders who are all power and very little skill (Essien).

Joe Cole? An overhyped average player.
Christianity EtcRe: Should I Force My Daughter To Go To Church? by 4Him(m): 1:43am On Feb 12, 2008
4 Play:
I beg to differ, people are effectively born atheists until they are told about God or what other form of deity those in their immediate surroundings are familiar with.

At the heart of the issue is whether you can induce belief in God by "force".The 13 year old attending church weekly is meaningless if she doesn't believe in God.

Thus apart from whether its desirable to compel church attendance, the efficacy of such compulsion is highly questionable.Being a Christian is not a question of regular church attendance, its about a firm belief in certain Christian doctrines.
What else can i add to this superb post?
Everyone is born a sinner . . . the bible says so.
I attended church for yrs (by force) . . . it did me no good. The first chance i had outside the home i stayed as far away from the church as i could, prefering to cook pots of beans with my friends rather than go decieve myself (as most were doing) in the "house of God".

It was not until much later, after plenty of preaching that i finally ON MY OWN decided to return to the household of faith.

Force ur child to read the bible at ur own peril, she will simply grow up to see it as an instrument of imperialism.
As a child i detested reading the book of proverbs, i thot it was written to punish children.

Are these the statements of a man advocating the marriage statehood/nationhood with christianity? Methink not. smiley
u're getting ur pants in a knot. No one told you that the founding fathers intended to set up the USA as a theocracy, we only said (as can be clearly proven) that they founded the US based on christian principles. The idea was to build a nation where every man . . . christian or not would be free and equal under the law.

Even Christ NEVER advocated a theocratic government . . . here him: John 18:36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

It was repeated twice in one verse to underline its importance.

Zandra1,

I am glad for you that your "requests and demands are answered my god". Do you know what might have happened had you NOT prayed?

How about people who have never prayed in their lives? Would you expect them to be less "successful" in life?
The bible has a perfect answer for ur "question": Matthew 5: 45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

@ debosky, i no longer give these people any rational answers as that is not what they want. Like Alexander and Hymaeneus whom Paul gave over to the devil . . . such is their lot . . . sorry to say.

Bawomolo, i need no consent from my favorite goat as i am not one of the lunatics like you who think that they shld be learning sexual behaviour from bonobos and penguins.
Christianity EtcRe: Christian Nations Rules The World. by 4Him(m): 11:30pm On Feb 11, 2008
@ bawomolo the inconsistent hypocrite,

You said that Thomas Jefferson contradicted himself so many times and then produce a quote for benjamin Franklin . . . does that make sense to you? Where did i reference Benjamin Franklin or are you just grasping at straws like a drowning man?

I am tired of reading silly links from people desperate to bury the truth about America's christian foundations. Hypocrites and liars just like you whom you want to quote forgetting that the very statements of these men you call deists are fossilized in time for all to see.

Did you refute ANY of the sayings of these men who specifically referenced Jesus Christ and the bible?

Christianity EtcRe: Christian Nations Rules The World. by 4Him(m): 11:19pm On Feb 11, 2008
@ bawomolo and therationa the hypocrites:

The general principles upon which the Fathers achieved independence were the general principles of Christianity…I will avow that I believed and now believe that those general principles of Christianity are as eternal and immutable as the existence and the attributes of God.”
[John Adams. June 28, 1813; Letter to Thomas Jefferson]

We recognize no Sovereign but God, and no King but Jesus!”
[April 18, 1775, on the eve of the Revolutionary War after a British major ordered John Adams, John Hancock, and those with them to disperse in “the name of George the Sovereign King of England." ]

“Of all the systems of morality, ancient or modern which have come under my observation, none appears to me so pure as that of Jesus.”[Thomas Jefferson letter to Benjamin Rush April 21, 1803]

“It [the Bible] is a document in proof that I am a real Christian, that is to say, a disciple of the doctrines of Jesus." [Thomas Jefferson, Jan 9, 1816 Letter to Charles Thomson]

“We have staked the whole future of American civilization, not upon the power of government, far from it. We’ve staked the future of all our political institutions upon our capacity…to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God.” [James Madison, 1778 to the General Assembly of the State of Virginia]

President George Washington, September 17th, 1796 "It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible"

Sorry bawomolo.

4HIM,

For your information, prayer is common to most (if not all ) religions viz xian, mus-lims, hindus, jewish, sihks etc.
we know but face it . . . when you post threads all you are focused on is ridiculing christianity. Neither of the other religions u mention tell you that their prayers perform any miracles.

US is not a Christan country. In America there is separation of state and religion! Any body can practice any religion in America as long as it doesn't interfare with peoples human rights.
This thread speaks of so much ignorance!
This same thing is applicable to Great Britain.
the ignorance is truly yours. The USA was founded on the principles of christianity, its founding fathers were devout christians and we know from historical records that the vast majority of the founding documents were laced copiously with biblical quotes.

That the founding fathers were wise enough to make sure to separate state from religion does not mean religion played no part in the founding of the USA. Unlike the theocrats from Iran, they knew that even the God of the bible gave each and everyone of us the power of freewill.

all these cowardice and political correctness . . . why not just say Christian life as that is essentially what you mean instead of hiding it under the bogus guise of "religion"?
Christianity EtcRe: Great Books About Non-belief by 4Him(m): 9:57pm On Feb 11, 2008
these books are counter productive to those who write them. They simply solidify the belief that christianity is THE TRUTH and is thus a grave danger to the machinations of the devil.
I wonder why there are no books on de-converting from i.slam or buddhism or ogun worshipping. Could it be that the spiritual emptiness of those religions pose no threat to the kingdom of darkness?

You can only fight the truth.

that is perhaps in ur own bible . . . it cant be found in the one i carry.
What is your idea of "the anointing"?

skyone:
You framed up a question i gave you answer but instaed of accepting it you've decided to beat about the bush. From your question "Show me the large synagogue that Christ built" = Why i said you are beating about= you mentioned Church is the body of christ" and i put it this way Founder and head of church= Meaning Christ is seen as the head of the body which is the church= Meaning again RCCG camp, Faith Tabernacle, CMS, are all owned by Christ as church is the body of christ. Please get more knowledge.
When Christ mentioned the church as the body of Christ . . . no where did he mention specific congregations. Where 2 or 3 are gathered together in His name there He is in their midst.
Pls get ur head out of the heresy of extra-biblical twaddle.

skyone:
4HIM give glory to God for any great things you see around you. The Guiness Book of record is just a record nothing more than that.
which is why i see no reason why detruth is crying about it in the first place. Your reward is not here on earth but in heaven.

No irony there at all. Bush and Obama have very little in common.
They have seen 8yrs of Clinton . . . but for sympathy votes (female votes), the fact that Obama is not white and fondness for the other Clinton . . . Obama would long have wrapped up this nomination.

I personally dont want a president who will be shedding tears if the equivalent of Sept 11 happened again.
PoliticsRe: Super Tuesday by 4Him(op): 4:08am On Feb 11, 2008
America is tired of people coming up touting great knowledge of issues. Bush came in 2000 crying about issues . . . today he has a less than 30% approval rating.

The loudest people are not necessarily the best. Rudy Guiliani came in touting a fantastic record as mayor of NY, Romney charms economists and CEOs . . . today the GOP race is between a man who majors in "miracles" and has no idea where Pakistan is on the map of the world and another who is running entirely on having been a POW.
PoliticsRe: Super Tuesday by 4Him(op): 3:54am On Feb 11, 2008
what greater command of issues is Hillary showing? She's been hawking her health care plan for yrs . . . didnt it fail during the Clinton regime?

A woman who is promising to bring troops home from Iraq in 2 months is either naive, unaware of the grave implications or just saying anything to get elected. Obama has taken up her challenge for two debates before the march primaries.

He may read autocues but Hillary is no better. If i had 8yrs in the white house preparing for my own election i'd expect to do a heck of a lot better than a freshman.
PoliticsRe: Super Tuesday by 4Him(op): 3:41am On Feb 11, 2008
Inasmuch as i dislike McCain i do think some of his positions on foreign policy are right.
I think Romney has the best ideas of the entire lot while Clinton is just an opportunist who will say and do anything to manipulate her way to the whitehouse.
Last night she claimed she would withdraw US troops within 60 days! Someone tell that woman its not just about an election but about common sense.

Obama is doing just fine for a freshman senator! Leave him in peace. haba.
