uspry1: No thank! My church in the USA has its own Africa missionary where my congregations always donate and contribute things including plane tickets to UGANDA, NIGERIA, and few other East/West Africa countries.
Twelve teams on Africa missionary every year since 1990s, they can afford purchasing round-trip plane ticket that cost them $2k US dollar (2007 price) and hiring Ugandan/Nigerian interpreters with them on missionary journey. Most are pastorial and ministerial staff and few are true Christians with strong prayer warriors.
Last year (2007) informed us at church that they stopped going UGANDA anymore, change different Africa country, because of dangerous travel to UGANDA. (too many orphans turn into youth miliants---my Africa missionary staffs no fit trying to educate them and safely escaped from harm they all visited in the same village they went in the past---suddenly last year was changed)
That is how I got influenced by my church as I joined in deaf church in the major city in the USA two years ago---discovering how friendly my church congregations care about Africa unlikely my hometown rural church congregations are (too stingy!). I got respect Africa too much!!!
My church is working on hosting new country, Kenya. My church got relived from my other pastor with his son just escaped from Kenya during Christmas holiday left Kenya on January 2, 2008, it was released on the Washington Post as well as among Potomac area newspapers spreading around the state.
Now it is wrong time for this year 2008, just wait until everything in Kenya calm for my church's new Africa missionary. of what relevance is this to the topic? |

Gave nearly all his wealth to charities and what has been their "lasting impact" on the world at large outside of the USA? How have they affected their generation for decades to come? Jesus Christ is regarded as the most influential Man who ever lived in the last 2000yrs . . . He didnt have chains of stores and software companies. Femi 1: According to the bible, Exodus 24v9-11, its says moses Aaron and some others eat and drank with God and they saw God. you're caught in a lie there . . . you have deliberately, maliciously and falsely inserted the phrase in highlights to add a false meaning to the verse u purport to quote . . . Look again - Exodus 24: 11 And upon the nobles of the children of Israel he laid not his hand: also they saw God, and did eat and drink.where did it claim that God ate with them? |

Femi 1: Well 4Him, the Original scripture given to moses has been missing. And to you We have revealed the Book containing the truth, confirming the earlier revelations, and preserving them (from change and corruption) - Al-Ma'idah 5:48 Could al'lah have made a mistake? Did he forget his promise to "preserve" the scripture? Femi 1: i'm the one that suppose to ask you that where is the original text of the scripture given to moses and jesus because the Torah and the Injeel are not real in English. Unlike the Qur'an that you can easily find the original anywhere. The torah and gospels were written in greek, aramaic and possibly hebrew . . . but have since been translated to english for easy reading. The originals (as was handed down to the jews by their priests and prophets NOT by al'lah since his copy is missing) have been preserved . . . i'm sure i don't need to remind u of the dead sea scrolls. You say the original of the qur'an can be found "anywhere" . . . how is this possible if The Great Prophet could not read or write? What original copy did the great prophet write down? did it include the copies eaten by goats? - |

Alphazee: Why do you think the Colonial masters built us Colleges of Theology while back home they built Colleges of Technology? So that as they underdeveloped us, we paryed! no ma'am, the colonial masters gave us our first missionary schools in the south, they built the University College hospital and University (UI) . . . they did not just tell us to go and pray. Alphazee: They said we should put everything in the hands of God. they also built our roads, rail system (which we have since abandoned) and most of the infrastructure that we have today. Alphazee: Remotely they took over the control and began to manipulate our thinking faculties They were not the ones who remote-controlled Babangida, shagari and abacha into power. Alphazee: Gradually we lost faith in our own abilities gradually we looted away our own future. Alphazee: We have prayed for NEPA, So much so that it got transformed to PHCN - The result? Intensive Darkness a little less corruption . . . and NEPA would be a successful behemoth today. Alphazee: We prayed for INEC - What we got was Isi Ewu Iwu Abracadabra If we didnt rig ourselves into power we wouldnt need to be praying for INEC. Alphazee: We prayed for PDP - We got a Do-or-Die Election PDP is not a christian organisation but a collection of thieves. Alphazee: We prayed against armed robery - They invaded one of the Prayer Supermarkets at Ota recently if we had jobs for our youths we would not need to pray against armedrobbery. In essence, i see the semi-intelligent bawomolo already congratulating u for a good write-up, this is nothing but a puerile attempt at lampooning the efficacy of prayer. There is a place for prayer and there is also a place for civic responsibility, if you refuse to repair ur roads no amount of prayer can stop accidents from happening. |

bawomolo: it is not easy to gauge, but there is a reason hospitals are beginning to use pets and a more conducive environment to keep their patients happy. less stress and optimism usually makes them feel better. of course positive thinking alone won't help, neither would prayer. and how well have the pets worked for terminally ill patients? How well does "positive thinking" work for a cancer patient? Can u use "positive energy" to will away the HIV virus? What is ur proof that "positive thinking" works? Most of the "positive thinking" initiatives are mainly for terminally ill patients . . . meant to keep them happy for what is left of their miserable lives. So much for ur thinking. That prayer has not worked for u does not mean it hasnt worked for others. There are lot of people here who will readily give u examples . . . at least i have . . . no point casting my pearls before swine in ur case. |

bawomolo: We shld assume then that most nigerians have a negative attitude and pessimistic thinking. I wonder how many people have been healed because of positive thinking.
most nigerians are religious and pessimistic about their future/government. i don't get the analogy here. people with positive attitude have been shown to do better in hospitals. snatching polls from the air as usual to support an untenable and unproven "fact"? |
