bawomolo:We shld assume then that most nigerians have a negative attitude and pessimistic thinking. I wonder how many people have been healed because of positive thinking. |
stillwater:u're asking? ![]() bawomolo:which "heat"? Rather many can no longer stand ur prevarications, deliberate misrepresentation and unsubstantiated twaddle. |
therationa:aaah now i see why mr. therationa is so gungho about christianity . . . i think my brother is truly searching for God but going about it the wrong way. I suppose if u would truly be sincere in the questions you ask and commit to one thread where ur issues can be dealth with u'll leave here a more satisfied man. What d'ya say therationa? Do we have a truce? ![]() |
tough one. Many Nigerian mothers frown at marrying a woman with kids. Infact my mom told me straight to my face that she would not welcome one . . . and this from a woman who i suppose is even more liberal than most. |
detruth:the question is WHAT DIRECTION is the church marching on to? detruth:really? Of what use is a world record church in a land full of poverty and hopelessness? At least i'm glad i dont live there, you can keep ur guiness book of records. |
therationa:again that time is subject to speculation. No one can categorically tell us exactly how long it takes to convert organinc matter to fossil fuels. It could be 1m yrs which makes nonsense of Francis Collins estimate of 100 - 120k yrs. Again are we assuming that homo sapiens were on earth about the same time as the dinosaurs? |
ono:Nigerian politicians - a phrase that describes a group of recently discovered jobless parasites whose only means of livelihood is the government treasury. See also[i] Ahmadu Ali. [/i] Oil magnates - A foreign word that refers to unqualified men illegally rewarded with oil wells as a source of political patronage. Networking - a term that refers to participation in the looting of the nation. |
therationa:this is not an argument for or against theistic engineering but rather that man has always been intelligent! Where they or where they not intelligent enough to use their technology to build the pyramids? |
therationa:and that automatically confers an ability to know how long man has been on earth? I ask again . . . HOW did she/he come by the dates 100 - 120k yrs of homo sapiens existence on earth? Where is the DNA evidence? We know DNA does not last that long so how did they know? Being the director of the genome project does not make her any smarter than the guy next door. and while we are it pls grab a copy of the bible you have spent ur precious time mocking before telling us to go read one more of ur godless books that have no bearing with common sense. |
Men built the great pyramids . . . till tomorrow our scientists are still baffled as to how they were able to do so without present technology. |
ono, that one no dey dictionary yet . . . ![]() |
therationa:stuff and nonsense. My mom is a peadiatrician yet she remains a very strong christian. No one is advocating kicking out common sense and science in favour of the bible only. By the way, of what purpose is this analogy? What question did it answer? therationa:frankly i'm asking myself the same question. You just copy and paste from fellow godless souls like you, you have no oppinion of yours. Each time i subject any of ur fond quotes from other authors to the same scrutiny that you subject the bible i find you sadly wanting. You love Francis Collins . . . pls prove to us how he/she knew without a doubt that the 10,000 yr existence of man as u deduced from the bible is wrong and his/her idea of 100,000yrs is the correct one. What DNA analysis did he/she use? One that was 100,000yrs old? |
therationa:If you were really interested you would go read the bible. Do I NEED to tell you that? Apparently looks like I need to. ![]() |
therationa:I only see the same nebulous writings devoid of logic, merely rephrased to look like its different. |
Gamine:you just had to plagiarise the phrase i use eh? I understand. I don't think highly of myself at all . . . i'm simply making a point . . . some "debates" can be solved if only we opened the pages of the bible . . . many bibles are free so we have no excuse. Besides, what is taught in churches today if the flock have no idea that the God they serve can be touched by the feeling of their infirmities? |
therationa:you on the other hand seem to equate "scholarly" education with simply quoting from any godless soul. I simply asked you questions that i expected an "educated" person to tackle . . . how does Francis Collins prove to us that homo sapiens had been walking the earth for 100,000 yrs? How does he know when we appeared on earth? Through the inconclusive evidence of carbon dating? |
janami:Do you understand the context that statement was made? It is made in the same context as the power of the tongue is discussed in James 3. Simply put . . . that verse is saying that you beware of the way you use your tongue . . . with the same tongue that you can bless someone you can also use it to destroy a soul. No where is it implying that you have the right or power to use your tongue to curse others. The bible is explicit . . . Luke 6: 28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. |
A goaT, now we know that men are all over you . . . i'd suggest you choose none since you are still confused on whom to choose. |
Gamine:i dont see any debate here, rather i see ignorance. Read your bible well and you will find the answers you seek, infact such "debates" as these would not come up if only we took the pains to open that bible gathering dust on our shelves. Soon someone will be here to ask us if Christ ate. |
therationa:Iran is a m_uslim state . . . there are armed robbers and murderers there . . . does that mean that robbery and murder are condoned by the koran? |
this is a duplication of an existing thread. |
what do they teach in church these days? Just tithes and offerings? |
bawomolo:we are not struggling to explain anything . . . its hard to keep up with the rate at which u godless souls open up threads each time you are exposed for being nothing but plagiarists on another. |
therationa:that is based on ur own calculation that everyone gets married and has children about the same age which is simply false. therationa:I did the same. My maternal grandmother is just about in her 70s . . . however my paternal grandfather died 26 yrs ago and he was well into his late 80s. That is a gap of about 30yrs. My parents are only 3yrs apart in age. Now we know that women were married and had children a lot younger than is applicable in our age. We also know that men in the bible lived and had children even at 600yrs of age . . . If a man at 100yrs had a child . . . then remarried at 600 to have another child . . . that is a gap of 500yrs between 2 children of the same father . . . therationa:bogus. Methuselah lived for over 900yrs and he was still having kids. therationa:That is dependent on if Francis Collins can prove to us exactly when homo sapiens appeared on earth. therationa:that is assuming that DNA analysis is foolproof which we know it is not. |
@ therationa, I think you are mistaken yet again. Some of these books have attracted a huge following not least in the USA.That a book "attracts a huge following" is not a sign that it has anything truthful to say. Several works of fiction have attracted a huge following too, they have been bestsellers and even gone on to become major motion films . . . does that mean they are anything but fiction? May i remind you that the same NY bestsellers list regards the bible as the bestselling book of all time. Let me also remind you that the "huge following" ur godless books attract is down to desperate people like you who will graps at just about any straw to justify their stance. These are people who are confused and constantly need to assuage their seared consciences that they are on the right path. They are the ones who have no rational oppinion of their own but need to rely on Dawkins for proof that God does not exist. The "protocols of the elders of zion" has attracted a huge following in m.uslim countries . . . does that make the book true? |
morenike09:i like a good song when i hear one. ![]() |
mohawkchic:i'd wish for more happy families not broken homes if i were you. All the same tbara, the fact that you've chosen to shoulder the responsibility of ur daughter is highly commendable. |
Yeah call me cheesy but i have no idea why i love this song. Mel C's voice on the bridge is just excellent Spice Girls - Headlines (Friendship Never Ends) [flash=425,355] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WcAlA4iY_kY&rel=1[/flash] |
bawomolo:they founded the country with Jesus Christ in their hearts (not just God my brother), the bible as their guide and with christianity as their way of life. They were wise enough to set the country on the foundation of secularism . . . but with the intention that God would remain a part of the lives of those who wished to keep Him. That is why till next yr, no matter how souls like you writhe in disgust, IN GOD WE TRUST will remain the symbol of America. |
Boyz II men: I will get there [flash=425,355] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IY5QgpgrJP0&rel=1[/flash] Morenike09, thanks dear! |
answer me joo. |
