therationa:You claimed that you made your discovery of the missing verses of Mark "while thumbing through my copy of a modern bible" . . . That indicates that you have read and clearly remember almost all verses in the two of the best and oldest Greek copies of Mark for you to have realised they were missing from your copy of a modern bible which is basically impossible. this points to one thing - you are basically copying these "questions" from other sources while dressing them as your own. Now back to your questions . . . several of the manuscripts that make of the bible were written on parchments many of whom were already partially destroyed before they were found. HOWEVER . . . the early writers were smart enough to have left several copies of their books so that in case one was destroyed there was always one to fall back on. For example . . . 18 copies of the book of Isaiah alone was found among the dead sea scrolls found in the cave of Qumran. Suppose a scholar just took one of those scrolls ignoring the other 17, any missing portion of that scroll automatically gets labelled as never having existed by hypocrites like you. If another scholar reconstructed the missing parts from the other 17 copies . . . would u assume that those missing parts were fixed by the early christians? |
did anyone ever take Bisi Olatilo seriously? |
therationa:i see as usual u have made no attempt to even look at imhotep's study . . . feel free to make up another thread asking for dinner answers. |
therationa:no you didnt touch any nerve. I guess its finally dawned on most of us that you are not really genuinely seeking for answers but trying to use your purported "questions" to ridicule the very fabric of our faith. That in itself is no problem, but i think you would express some frustration if u were in our shoes. you've never stayed back on one thread to fully confront the many explanations u've been given, rather you hop away as soon as u get stuck only to produce yet another bogus thread. I typed out a reply to ur question on human sacrifice in the bible but it got wiped off due to internet glitches . . . after that i just didnt think it was worth the effort to attempt to re-write the reply. Therationa, you have so many answers . . . what have u done with them? enjoy ur delusional state. |
@ skyone, thank you and i'm not mad at u either. skyone:that is true but again it begs the question . . . when we use the phrase "to God be the glory" what do we mean? Are we really giving God the glory or is it one of those things we just learnt to say as Christians? A lot of us use several "christian-sounding" phrases . . . decieving ourselves that we are just selflessly giving all the praise to God when in fact it is simply a disguise for our own pride. Read the 3rd temptation of Christ. The devil showed Him all the eart, the great buildings, the wonderful temple of solomon, the beautiful gardens of Isreal, the fantastic ark of the covenant . . . what was Christ's response? To God be the glory? see here - John 18: 36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence. Why does Christ say His kingdom is not of this world? why does He refer to the enemy as the prince of this world? The bible says "heaven and earth shall pass away" . . . including our guiness book of records buildings BUT His word shall NEVER pass away. How many times have we put earthly things above His word while crying "to God be the glory"? skyone:I'm just surprised though . . . why didnt Christ acquire the finest temple in Jerusalem for His ministry? Why borrow a colt to ride to jerusalem? why borrow Peter's ship to go preaching? Why? didnt he love good things too? I'm not saying God wants us to be poor . . . but why do we over-emphasise earthly belongings over the important? skyone:detruth is not an admirer of God's work because God did not build that building. detruth is an admirer of a man-made architectural master-piece . . . Without God . . . Abu Dhabi is today building the world's first oasis in the desert . . . without God we have the leaning tower of Pisa . . . |
JeSoul i beg to disagree a little bit . . . Christians are not super-humans, we worry about food, money . . . the same mundane things that everyone else worries about. the difference is we have a succour, we have a Father we can cry out to in our time of need . . . we have a hope and a source of internal peace. @ 4play, the christian isnt smiling because he can not feel pain, or he wont be sick or harrassed for his rent. He smiles because He knows whom He has believed and that He is more than able to supply all his needs according to His riches in glory. |
Femi 1 the big hypocrite . . . did you say anything about the contradictions i also pointed out to you? Femi 1:did you read my rebuttal to ur lies in the above? Did verse 11 explicitly say God was a part of their eating? 11 And upon the nobles of the children of Israel he laid not his hand: also they saw God, and did eat and drink. Did it say God ate and drank with them? I dont respond to half-baked facts and lies. |
skyone:this is not about intellect . . . indeed the gospel has been revealed to babes and sucklings. this is about the whole bible . . . not applying the parts you like and ignoring the others. I love the fact that u use the term "a man built a church" . . . can you see where i am going? Its all about man's glory isnt it? HE is doing what God sent him to do . . . where is God glorified in all these? |

do u blame them? they are only doing what they have heard their pastors teach them. A snake cannot grow to be a grasshopper. If the people are well taught there would be no need to warn them about such heresies. |
Gamine:that is true . . . the problem is how many of these church "leaders" tell their congregations this? |
Gamine:you know that is actually unbiblical . . . i had that same attitude until very recently when a guy here pointed it out to me supporting it with relevant scripture. When you give believe that u will recieve in return and God will reward your gifts of love. |
Gamine:lol i'm surprised u also read that site, the guy is one i respect a great deal. |
Gamine:no, its about extorting money from gullible sheeple in the name of God. Its about using these monies to build a business empire in the name of a church. Its about using these monies to satisfy their own lusts and cravings, to buy the finest jets and gold while pretending to be doing the work of God. Where are the widows and orphans and less priviledged they claim to be helping? the same people who attend their churches every sunday, give their firstfruits only to return home hungry, empty and angry? |
prizeless:what "truth" are they standing up for? to God be all what glory? the glory of the guiness book of records? That, my brother, is the most blatant form of hypocrisy i ever saw. |
Blatant and otele wetin be all these reverse toasting? Grow up young men. |
bawomolo:if only this "heat" made a little bit of sense. The sign of a disjointed and confused state of mind is evident in the deluge of threads created by yourself and therationa in a relatively short period of time. People who thoroughly understand their own point of view wait and completely analyse one topic first before running off to open another. Now who did u say cant stand the heat again? |
janami:lucky? Do you have an issue with comprehension seriously? Who really are you to assume i'm lucky u cant bring out some things from my previous posts? I have challenged u hypocrites to show me where i explicitly or implicitly supported the robbers and all you can come up with is tripe like this? You need help. Why is everyone against me? Do you honestly think i give a flying pigs tail? They including u are not "against me" because you have any iota of reason . . . but because of ur blind, deluded and unhealthy support for unbiblical twaddle. My posts insinuate nothing about robbery or murder, if only u could engage ur thinking faculty u shld be able to SEE/UNDERSTAND what i'm saying. I'm glad quite a few sensible pple can see it. janami:i've got a twisted mind for speaking my mind? lol the classical hallmark of hypocrites who cry God, God every sunday but deep down are unregenerated souls. |

is moneybags a counsellor? Sounds too good to be true but hey he's right. |
@ stillwater, talking to therationa is akin to pouring water on a rock. |
One of R.G Price's premises for disbelieving the date of the crucifiction was this - 6) No blasphemy charge could be sustained unless the accused pronounced the name of God in front of witnesses. But John 5: 18 makes perfectly satisfies that rule. Seemingly little inconsistencies in write-ups like those of Price makes me feel its not worth the effort responding to dishonest questions like urs. |
therationa:It is becoming clear that you are not taking out time to cross-check ur facts before concluding: did Leviticus 27:29 actually advocate human sacrifice? Lev 27: 29 None devoted, which shall be devoted of men, shall be redeemed; but shall surely be put to death. In what context is this verse speaking and "what" is to be surely put to death? Verse 28 Notwithstanding no devoted thing, that a man shall devote unto the LORD of all that he hath, both of man and beast, and of the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed: every devoted thing is most holy unto the LORD. the inclusion of "man" as part of the devoted things unto the Lord that cannot be sold or redeemed is what is causing confusion (i believe it is a deliberate misrepresentation on the part of those deliberately out to find any fault with the bible). \ I ask a simple question . . . if truly God meant that men devoted unto God shld be put to death why then do we NEVER come across any instance of these "devoted" human sacrifices? there are tons of reports of burnt offerings (animal sacrifices), food offerings e.t.c. but NOT ONE MENTION of a human sacrifice unto the Lord . . . it could mean these things: 1. God did not indicate human sacrifice, the jews understood what was meant there 2. God did mean them to sacrifice humans but the Jews deliberately disobeyed 3. There was not a single man devoted unto God in the entire bible. Where there men devoted unto God? Yes - Samuel was an example of one dedicated into the temple . . . rather than being sacrificed he took over from Eli as priest in Isreal (read I Samuel). The Levites were also dedicated to God - not a single one of them had to be sacrificed but their lineage produced all the priests of the jewish temple. Did God frown at human sacrifice? Yes - Lev 18: 21 And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through the fire to Molech, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD. Dear, take ur time to read the bible urself . . . by merely buying into the false propaganda of those determined to desecrate the bible, you make a fool of ur own intelligence. |
janami:Ye hypocrites . . . when you have been caught in a lie the next best thing is simply to lie to cover ur tracks. Well did the bible speak of you saying - Proverbs 11: 9 An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered. |
@ therationa . . . think for a moment . . . if indeed the above were "sanctioned" and "commanded" by the christian God why are jews and christians not engaging in human sacrifice, slavery, rape, pillaging of villages and slashing the bellies of pregnant women? Isnt that a case of flagrant disobedience? |
therationa:R.G Price lied when he said and i quote - 6) No blasphemy charge could be sustained unless the accused pronounced the name of God in front of witnesses. John 5: 18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God. The jews brought forward a blasphemy charge against Christ because He pronounced Himself as God (and rightfully so) in the presence of several witnesses. |
janami:Ye hypocrites . . . well did the bible speak of you . . . 2 Timothy 3: 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Ye hypocrite: there was no argument so there's nothing to communicate. If you could use the english language at all you shld have been able to show me where i justified armed robbery and murder like you maliciously accused me of. enjoy. |
Femi 1:Femi 1, meeting in person is out of the question. Put ur concerns here and let everyone (not just me) contribute. Illiteracy indeed is a disease . . . care to tell me what "grace" means in islam? It is not just about repeating "insha allah like a mantra you know. |
janami:either you cant read or u have a problem with comprehension. Pls show me where i justified the robbers . . . Admit to what? That you twist the scriptures to say what it didnt say? That we as men HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO RIGHT to curse anyone? Matt 5: 44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; where did i encourage murder and theft? Where did i congratulate the robbers for invading the banks in canaanland? Enough of the questions . . . i leave you to ur conscience. Ye hypocrites . . . why are you crying about THESE robbers? Is it because the bank that was raided was within the premises of ur temple? A bank was raided somewhere in the east and 11 people were left killed . . . i am yet to see tears of sorrow from ur eyes . . . i am yet to hear your "papa" curse these thieves. Ye hypocrites . . . God cannot be mocked . . . the only way the thieves poured disdain on "His house" is if the bank is now His house. Ye hypocrites . . . after the crucifiction, the temple veil was torn and the Spirit departed from the temple built with hands to that built without hands. Now WE, not ur multi-billion naira empty shell of bricks are the "House of God". Ye hypocrites . . . while u cry over the building built WITH hands, the temples of the Lord are hungry, destitute and spiritually poor. Ye hypocrites . . . the thief on the left hand side of Jesus made it to heaven with a simple request . . . what if Christ had rebuffed him for not having any honor? Ye hypocrites . . . apostle Paul was a murderer complicit in the death of Stephen . . . YET he became the chief apostle to the gentiles. What if Christ had said he had no honor? Ye hypocrites . . . who made you a judge over a robber? |
Femi 1:that is the politically correct, dishonest and is'lamic face-saving way of interpreting Al-Ma'idah 5:48. look again at the words in highlights: And to you We have revealed the Book containing the truth, confirming the earlier revelations, and preserving them (from change and corruption) - Al-Ma'idah 5:48 God did not reveal the koran as a BOOK to the great prophet . . . infact the actual koran was passed down by oral tradition before being compiled several years after the death of moham'mad . . . so what "book" was god talking about here? Again it goes on to say this "book" was to "confirm the earlier revelations" . . . it could only have been refering to the books of the jewish prophets here as there are no records of any "earlier revelations" among the arabs before the great prophet. Femi 1:Where did you bring this lie from? We havent finished digesting the bible . . . the last thing a true christian is thinking about is whether a koran even exists. Femi 1:Grace is not an great religious principle. What do you mean by the use of the word "grace" here? Another of your copious borrowing of christian words which u have no idea about? Femi 1:don't bother. Like i said earlier, i wonder how many christians have time to print a koran. Femi 1:do this in person? so u can practice your jihad? no thank u. |
therationa:John 5: 18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God. R.G. Price should do more research. |

wot lie? why is everyone against u if u dnt support the robbers. you're only too lucky that i cannot bring out some things from your previous posts. go and read your posts again and see wot they are INSINUATING. If it is not called supporting robbery indirectly, then i wonder what it is called.
like a mantra you know.
