Christianity EtcRe: The Dangers Of Religious Fundamentalism To Intellectualism by 4Him1(m): 10:30pm On May 29, 2008
huxley:
It is usually claimed by the uninformed that the USA was founded on Christian principles. Nothing could be further from the truth. The TREATY OF TRIPOLI clearly states that the USA was NOT founded on Christian principles;

"As the Government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquillity, of Musselmen; and as the said States never have entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mehomitan nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries." Source: http://www.earlyamerica.com/review/summer97/secular.html

have u seen this? https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-112086.0.html
It is usually claimed by noise makers who pretend to be informed that the USA was not founded on christian PRINCIPLES (note that there is a big difference between a principle and a religion) . . . a cursory look at history tells us otherwise. A simple case in point is the motto of the USA - IN GOD WE TRUST.

It might interest Huxley to note that it smacks of poor scholarship to base American internal policy on a "treaty" signed with foreign powers (Tripoli) primarily to protect US shipping interests in what used to be moslem waters. The treaty was written in arabic (not a US language) and a careful reading of the above quote from article 11 of the treaty is clear evidence that this was written as a form of political appeasement.
Christianity EtcRe: The Dangers Of Religious Fundamentalism To Intellectualism by 4Him1(m): 7:21pm On May 29, 2008
Christianity has posed no danger to intellectualism, the irony of these is that those who actually brought us christianity (Europeans) are technologically the most advanced race on earth.

Israel is the birthplace of judaism and christianity . . . that nation has the most powerful airforce on earth, designed the very INTEL chip that powers the computers of many of us here, single-handedly designed and maintains its own nuclear missiles and has satellites in space.

America was founded in 1776 on christian principles . . . do i need to remind you they are the most powerful nation on earth?

Isn't gatorade quiet harmful to drink if you are not exercising. I only drink vitamin water after track practice after working out
its not, gatorade is simply sodium, pottasium and carbohydrates. Your body gets rid of the excess it doesnt need.
LiteratureRe: Enid Blyton's Novels by 4Him1(m): 3:41am On May 29, 2008
Arielle:
I grew up with Enid Blyton. I still have my old school stories, St Claires and Mallory Towers with the annoying Gwendoline! I'm saving them for my daughter! I'm going to buy all the ones I lost and start a library for my children.
The Enchanted Wood and The Magic Faraway Tree are my favorites. Who remembers Dame Slap, Moon Face, Silky and Mr Whatsisname? Who was the character who used to snore so loudly that the kids all longed to pop a nut into his open mouth!
Gosh, memories!!
Oh Lord, so many memories just keep flooding back. grin
Good idea, i shld get a complete library of her books for my kids too. Enid's books shaped my english language as early as 3 yrs of age.

We tend to say sorry when we are not even in the offensive. For example, if someone falls down, Nigerians would go like "Oh sorry, e pele, ndo etc. But tell that to an american, he would be like "You didn't do anything". They don't understand we say that because we feel their pain undecided
i thot i was the only one! When i first arrived here i'd say sorry for everything (i was used to it), until one guy had to pointedly ask me what exactly i was sorry for (he stubbed his toe i think) . . . since then i learnt to keep quiet.

who do u reckon will win in the female category? i already gv d male to swrht Nadal
Barring injuries, Nadal shld wrap this up pretty well. I dont see Djokovic (his main threat) hanging on in a 5 setter on clay.

viee:
i keep readn about Jelena being the fav as it is on clay undecided
for me im lookn real hard at that Safina chick
i thnk she is also quite good
Jankovic? Doubt it, i dont think Safina will win either - she had a good run winning in Rome but cant see her winning here. I give it to Serena if she brings her A game.

viee:
im for Serena or Venus all the way thou at the moment Serena seem to be in far beta shape
that said, Venus won the wimbledon even whn she didnt play top level tennis
but then she has a way with wimbledon . . . .
Venus shld just retire.

Nadal whipped Belluci 7-5, 6-3, 6-1. Great game but there are some good lefties out there now. Anyone saw Wayne Odesnick beat Canas?
Christianity EtcRe: Does Jesus Know What Causes Sin? Thank Goodness He Doesn't. by 4Him1(m): 4:45pm On May 28, 2008
olabowale:
@Huxley
No. But am saying that Jesus followed the same laws that Moses followed. Then Mu.h.umm.ad follwed the same laws.
What "laws" did mo'hammad follow? The ancient Jewish laws of the old covenant? Did mu'hammad celebrate the 50th yr jubilee?
Why do you lie so effortlessly?

olabowale:
Sins are caused by disobedience to the rules, instructions, commandments of God. A sinner can repent by seeking sincere forgiveness, after he/she recognizes that there was a sin against his/her own soul. The heart of a person recognizes sin as something that are not naturally accepted by that inner self. But a sinful person tries to suppress such a natural inclination, and mask it with unfounded justifications.
there is no such definition for sin in the qu'ran, the above are just your own decietful invention.
Foreign AffairsRe: Palestine Before And After - By Sherri Muzher by 4Him1(m): 4:31pm On May 28, 2008
Palestinians with serious illnesses in Gaza are denied
access to medical care. More than 150 have died and
children are being stoned on their way to school by Jewish
settlers.
This is odd:
- Palestinians with serious illnesses in Gaza shld be able to recieve medical care IN GAZA . . . why then is the PNA collecting billions of dollars in aid and then crying when Palestinians (who do not recognise Israel on any map of the middle-east) are denied entry to Jewish hospitals. Is it fair to accuse America of denying a Mexican access to medical care maintained by American taxpayers?
Why can't Gazans go to Egypt, Syria, Iran or Jordan for medical care?
- There are no jewish settlers in Gaza so just who is stoning these children on their way to school? Have Gazans forgotten so soon the daily rockets fired at school children in Sderot?

This month marks the 60th anniversary of Israel's creation
and the dispossession of the Palestinians from their land.
I'll save the history lessons because the realities have
even been acknowledged by Israeli historians, most recently
by Professor Ilan Pappe in 2006 with his book, "The Ethnic
Cleansing of Palestine."
Illan Pappe is no historian, that much is acknowledged by those who are not blinded by Arab imperialism. There once existed a "palestinian land" but contrary to propaganda trumpeted here those "palestinians" were Jews up until 1948. A reference point - the jewish Jerusalem Post used to be called the Palestinian Post up until 1948.

Consider that Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir said in
1969 in an oft-repeated statement, "There is no such thing
as a Palestinian." Too bad she didn't read up on history
because there has been a collective consciousness of their
unique identity for millennia. The ancient Canaanites
weren't called Palestinians, but neither were the
Mesopotamians called Iraqis or the Celts called Irish or
British. Still, the roots are unquestionable and run
eternally deep, from archeological finds to folktales.
This is simply an invention of the Egyptian Yassir Arafat and has no historical basis. Arabs are NOT related to the ancient Canaanites who by the way are the descendants of Ham (a son of Noah). Arabs are descendants of Ishmael according to biblical history so just how has the writer of this article come to his distorted conclusions?

It is worth repeating that the Jewish Torah teaches us
that man was created in God's image. The Palestinians
have never been absent from this equation.
What is even more deserving of repeating is the fact that the Palestinian qu'ran teaches that jews are apes and pigs who should be destroyed from the face of the earth.

Of course "liberal" palestinian writers such as the above prefer to serve us a dish of propaganda spiced with 1.2% of truth.

Americans do this on a daily basis . . . make sure you tear down your flag that is an obviously shameless plagiarism of the US flag . . . British boys are no better . . . remove the Ferris wheel that is another shameless copying of the London eye too . . . afterall why would you want to associate Malaysia with such lewd cultures.

malaysian:
Skin colour is a non issue really. White, Black, Blue or Green -- every one has to respect the local custom of places they choose to visit.
Those who wont vote Obama based on race preface their "defence" with the above baloney. We wear the brown skin so we know better, we can read between the lines. I can tell you this, better options are available to Nigerians in Thailand, the Phillipines, Indonesia and Singapore. But not Malaysia. Nigeria seems like a very wealthy nation and I cannot understand why Nigerians even end up here in Malaysia where there are almost no job opportunities for the educated Nigerian.
These same asian hypocrites are the largest group of immigrants to the US and Europe. Why dont you tell your citizens to return to Malaysia and go shut themselves up there.

Police reports have been lodged when it comes to matters that are related to crime. But what about the social aspect of it. The Nigerians where I live fail to exercise basic courtesy. Surely it is not a case for the police to handle. Lewd remarks seem to be something that they churn out because perhaps it is part of their culture.
We get it, we'll educate our citizens not to venture near your denizen of is'lamic racism.

No, lack of basic courtesy is not part of our culture . . . u are again labelling an entire nation of 150m by the actions of 1 or 2 of your neighbours which is ridiculous. My culture raised me to be almost too respectful of elders, ours is a conservative society that frowns on any connotation of lewd language.
There are thousands of rude, uncultured Malaysians . . . is it part of your culture?
I see Americans who use curse words even on the very movies you watch . . . surprisingly that doesnt strike u as odd? Perhaps because they are white and you see them as gods to be reverred and who can do no wrong?

hahahaha similar to Turaki who was governing Jigawa from abroad.
Naija na wa o.

Simply set up another committee to probe the committee probing the power sector. Let those ones go to Cameroun to write their report. Then set up another committee to probe them too.
Fill up Abuja with "white papers" whose sole aim is to gather dust, give a false sense of the senators working hard while lining their pocket with yet more loot.

After (s)elect another president who will threaten to declare another state of emergency, inaugurate yet more probe committees who will also write their golden report from mars . . . and the circus continues.

No you dont. When i read stuff like the above you wonder what these people think Africa really is . . . a planet of aliens who roam with animals and live on trees?
How many times do you hear someone trying to "understand the culture and customs" of the Americans or Germans or French? Once it comes to an African you start hearing "culture and custom" . . . an euphemism for the insidous form of racism that still exists today.

Dont belabour the issue, either move to a new neighbourhood or push for the deportation of those troublesome Nigerians. When next i go back to Nigeria i will make sure to document the attrocities of those wicked asians who enslave our poor in most unsafe tinshacks they call industries.

I found this board when I googled "Africans in Malaysia" to find out if there were others having similar problems as i do where I live.
When you read nonsense like this you're left wondering if Africans are the only set of humans on earth with criminal tendencies. I'm sure there are millions of Malaysian youth much worse than the Nigerians you have seen but it seems the in thing to blame every single thing on those from Africa.
Have you googled Americans in Malaysia yet? Any google search on Arabs in Malaysia?

We are tired of people living in 3rd world countries coming here to complain of Nigerians, if you have a problem with them kindly report to your police. There are millions of law abiding Nigerian citizens making a decent living in several countries of the world. This idea of smearing the entire nation based on the actions of a few living on your street is galling.

What's next? Perhaps the Sudanese will be here to complain about Nigerians.

Christianity EtcRe: When Was Jesus Crucified? by 4Him1(m): 8:32pm On May 27, 2008
Uncle Olabowale;

1. was he a sinner ? (No. However in his humbleness, he continued to seek repentance, as a means of Glorifying his
Cherished Lord. God Almighty also responded to him in saying I will forgive you, all your sins, even
if you were to have had any sins in the past, presently or in the future. In all of these 3 states
we see that M.u.ha.mm.ad (as) never committed any sins.
It is this same Mu.hamma.d who stated that your god Jesus was not a sinner.
There are several glaring problems with this:
1. Olabowale answers "no" to the question of whether moha'mmad was a sinner . . . however there is NO definition for sin in is'lam. How then can he determine who is or is not a sinner?
2. If moh'ammad was not a sinner, why then was he still seeking repentance? From what?
3. You cannot continue to use circular reasoning to meander around one spot, because moh'ammad simply reiterated biblical truth that Christ was not a sinner does not automatically mean moh'ammad too wasnt a sinner.

2.was he a liar ? (No. He was called the trusted among the Makkans. What are you talking about Shaeniqua?
Altaqqiya?

6.was he unsure of his salvation ? (Yes. But he was not an arrogant man. He was full of humility and always honoring
his Creator. The pages of Qur.'a.n is filled with success in the here after. Aren't you
the woman complaining about mu.slims is expected to having too much sex in
Paradise? Yet Yet gymnastics is very very easy to flow off your lips.
To start with, there is no concept of salvation in is'lam so this question does not apply to mohamma'd and attempting to answer it is tantamount to deciet. Humility (self righteousness) is not the way to salvation. Christ is.

7.was he a murderer ? (No. Murderer are those who killed people unjustly. Was Moses a murderer? Did any
got lost through the hands of Jesus? Jesus was not even a Christian, rather he was
a mu.sl.im. Deal with it Sheniqua!
You cannot suddenly decide to re-define a "murderer" just to excuse moha'mmad's terror. A woman who kills her husband in self defence can be charged with 1st degree murder or manslaughter.
Again as is usual with blank mus'lims they try to obfuscate issues by incorporating biblical characters into their answers. What has Moses or Jesus Christ got to do with basically a yes or no answer?

8.was he hateful ? (No. Was Jesus hateful? Was Moses hateful? Was Noah hateful? Please.
What has Christ, Moses or Noah got to do with your answer?

9 was he a sexual deviant ? (No. Was David a sexual deviant? The same David that you are quick to associate
Jesus as branch from his household? Look at the generations between them. Was
Jesus himself, a confirmed bachelor throughout his life a sexual deviant?
What have David and Jesus Christ got to do with a straight forward answer?

Hungry people don't support their oppresors. They revolt against them and throw them out of the palaces and out of power. History is replete with such: OR perhaps Nigerians are not hungry enough yet
be realistic, how many of such revolts have you seen? The Zimbabweans are probably hungrier than we are yet Mugabe remains in power despite losing the last elections. . . we "revolted" for June 12 and were did it get us? While u're busy revolting the children of the rich are wasting away your commonwealth in foreign nations.

Blatant:
You join them and make it worse. That's exactly how we got here and we'll get worse as long as people continue with that attitude
I agree that we are were we are no thanks to our pessimistic attitude but lets be frank . . . what can we do?

Blatant:
They can win if WE, collectively, decide to make them win
you seem to assume that rigging does not exist. The south and the north dont vote the same way . . . while you can rely on the south to vote for genuine candidates, the north engages in block voting in their own interest . . . no thanks to the skewed population we know whose vote carries the day.

Blatant:
If only we were pretending to support them. We actually actively support them. I have seen with my eyes and heard with my ears.
people will vote for the devil when they are hungry.

Blatant:
However, the reason we are unable to demand change is because most of us are actually just waiting for our opportunity to loot and be part of the same system. While we have not got that opportunity, we make little noises but as soon as we get there, we loot as well. There are some so-called new generation politicians in parliament and in the executive all also looting.

Until we realise that WE are the problem with the nation, it wont move forward. Why is it that everyone in Nigeria who says good things suddenly becomes a looter after being elected. Believe it or not, everyone of us needs soul searching.
I dont think so, its not just about "demanding" change but how do you enforce the change?
