At the same time, my rational mind also questions some of the hardships faced by the Palestinians. Something Africans are used to. You could easily swap their story for the Black South African story - a land grab by European settlers (not my opinion, but some would say so). At the same time, the Jews have historic claim to the land, going back to the time of Joshua.

Because the US will never back arab jews. They have to be european jews for european countries and especially US to back them up to make the creation of the state successful.

@TLolive Of course they are Europeans. If you see a Jew on the street would you mistake him for an Arab? Check out the map of Israel, you will see they are surrounded by Arabs with brownish skin. The native Jews look Arabic, but 70% of Jews came from other countries thus making Israel a European country.

That's not for me to answer really, because she doesn't come up much in our conversations. Like I said, we talk more general stuff, politics, sports and such like. He's a good conversationalist and we get on quite well, mostly at work. We've not been on any social outings together, we've never even discussed that.
