im doing my IT... obviously it's going to affect me. only those who were there today will understand how I felt throughout today.. I'm even going home with headache
Really sorry.
But since it's IT(undergraduate internship i think), then they might let you be till the duration elapses.
But just do your job appropriately to close all loopholes, be yourself(though avoid sensitive issues next time except the other party has the intellectual capacity to handle it) and maybe something good no GREAT!!! will come out of this.

Let me first address your last point because it's hilarious. There is no such thing as a christian slave. Maybe you wanted to talk about the Trans Atlantic slave trade I guess. In that case Christianity had nothing to do with it. There is a difference between doing something because of your Christianity and doing something despite your Christianity. Jesus is the message of Christianity hence anything negative done outside the influence and dictates of the gospels and epistles(not bible) cannot be traced back to the Christianity.
There is a form of cognitive bias called selective perception maybe you can read about it to free yourself of close-mindedness when talking about religion and general issues.

Now addressing your statement; what's wrong with an atheist interpreting it this way: "There is no such thing as atheist slave. Atheism has nothing to do with that. There is a difference between doing something because of Atheism and doing something despite Atheism. "Disbelief in gods" is the message of Atheism, hence anything negative done out of influence and dictates of the violent men cannot be traced back to Atheism.

Let me see you argue with that.
I'm not an atheist by the way, i'm just addressing logical issues here.

Secondly, imagine if Europe and NAmerica were Atheist or Islamic then imagine how crazy the world would have been. The Albanian constitution of old infact prohibited Christianity and encouraged only Atheism. What about Stalin and Mao(all atheist) who killed numerous Christians for their beliefs. What about Kim jong family has cracked down on christians for years. All these are testament to the fact that Atheist are the most intolerant set of individuals out there.
If Europe or North America were Gnostics or Buddhists, what would be the negative consequences?

this thread just came as a relief to my pain.. I had a quarrel with my boss at the place where I am doing my IT simply because her vice told her that I'm atheist.
the quarrel nor be here oo, she said I'm a devil and a bad person. I didn't even reply her. she then said she will invite me for a church programme and I bluntly told her that I wouldn't attend.

Now, I'm feeling very bad. they all acting like I'm going to poison their food.
Jeeez, this is why we should be very prudent about the people we share our beliefs with.

If it was the other way around, "they" would have shouted "persecution".

Oman has no oil. However I can't say d same for the Atheist empire of North Korea.
Wait, are we talking about the same "Oman".
Where did you get this "fact" from?
By the way the key point i expected you take from there was resources and people to manage them well.

"people are the reason we are developing"- what does that meanhuh
If land is without beings, would there be any sign of development there?
When you talk about development in places don't you usually point to the works of people.
Now this development varies according to the ability and activities of people, comprendre?

Every country whether developed or not has people.
Wow, nice to know. shocked grin
The halt on human rituals, sacrifice of twins, propagation of education, promotion of monogamy are little out of the many things Christianity did for naija and It is more than what atheism can ever do..
This is just a case of people influencing a place with their pattern of reasoning where this reasoning in this case is based on the Bible.

Another example using your same scenario is when this same Christians took it further by converting our ancestors to "Christian slaves" and saw nothing wrong with it. Do you also accept this practice as a benefit Nigerians got from the early Christians also?

Please be a little bit reasonable.
Oil and good management is the reason for their development not religion.
I say Christianity is the reason we are actually developing.

Same old. Same old.

I'm not debunking their explanations. We only want people to see for themselves.

It does not really matter how many years of bullshit or how many "evolutionists" support bullshit.

We are asking obvious questions like every reasonable mind is supposed to ask.

All you could do was to tell me that several persons or journals support evolution? undecided

SMH

If you spend the time and effort you spend here digging into evolution, and not replacing pseudoscience backed by cartoons, you would have changed your views by now.
I believe you're smart.
If you know that many scientists still support this, why not look into their reason for this.

If you read those papers like i told you to, you would not come up with silly questions like the one your meme indicated.

Winner01 i thought you're now an atheist tongue

So you neva leave this silly matter alone abi.
I have one very simple task for you.

There are many recent peer reviewed papers on Google Scholars still talking on evolution, maybe you can do yourself a favour and educate yourself directly from a scientist rather than a creationist blog.
After you've read even if it's just one (that's recent though within 3 years), you can make it a subject of discussion and try to debunk their "absurd explanations" to prove creationism then scientist and other intelligent minds will be very willing to listen to you.

Talking about that, i hardly think you can find any recent(within 3 years) peer reviewed journal against evolution, so if you manage to debunk one, then you're proudly the scientist of the year, till then "PLEASE KEEP QUIET!!!"

Really! Posted the explanation before n tot u saw it.
Nah this was what you posted:
"A web service can be programatically manipulated thereby saving u the stress of entering you links into the search bar and comparing results manually"
which was what brought about the confusion between that and an API.

But this definition: "Web service hides behinds XML and that makes it open to being consumed by dev of many languages unlike APIs that are mostly language specific"
points out the difference of not being language specific.

My whole confusion revolved around this little ignorance that was why i kept on asking of the difference between a web service(goole) and a normal api(google api).
Hope you get me now.

Web service hides behinds XML and that makes it open to being consumed by dev of many languages unlike APIs that are mostly language specific. Can you use php to manipulate java ee or java to work with laravel(php)? Those are like api. They are used interchangably but are two technically different terms.
OK
This is the answer i needed.

For there to be data science there needs to be data. Nigeria loves the paper based collection system too much. But i believe in a few years when there are enough databases around. Data Scientists will be considered very valuable
Ya, this is also a very brilliant point.

So according to you what is a web service? We are not here to brag & lambaste but to brainstorm & learn. Please educate us.
From my comments with you, it should have been very apparent that i sought to learn about this "web service" and i've never heard of it before now.
That's why i was asking you many questions.

From what i've read so far from this link i got from a comment in stackoverflow

A web service and an api are basically similar but all web services are APIs and not all APIs are web services.

I had no idea that goole for example was just a regular API(i thought there were more functionality behind this "web service" ) so that was why i asked of the difference when using goole over a normal google API.
Now i understand what a web service is. Thanks.

I don't know where "brag & lambaste" came from, but i never meant to, i was just asking questions.

ebuka is a confused person that tries to add and subtract from the bible e.g Preadamites and Jesus portal; he strikes me like a deist using Pascal's Wager to chose Abrahamic god then furthering the wager to chose Christianity but something still tugs the collar of his shirt from time to time and tells him what he believes is probably nonsense

MrPresident is someone who suffers from extreme delusion of grandeur OR is lives a very painful and unbearable life which makes him wish the world ends as soon as possible

Fundies believe in the literal interpretation of the bible except parts where it it written as parable OR future events
Seriously!!! i just checked for the meaning of fundies and that's actually a thing.

Maybe we should challenge KingEbukasBlog to argue for the existence of the Christian GOD and that alone.

Firstly i like the mature way you guys are handling this argument i really appreciate.
But a web service is just like building an api either in the form of SOAP, REST or JSON but how do i write the logic, that is my problem. Personally i think a crawler will do better. But then again, it will consume so much resources if i need to crawler a huge number of sites and another think, what if at the time of crawling the post is no longer at the homepage, like it has gone down to say page 2, will it still be crawl?
jesus!!!
Is that really what a web service is?
If that's the case then what would make me use goole over standard google api. @ DESYNER
This was why i was confused cos i thought there's more to this 'web service', i didn't know it was just an api.[if i'm wrong please correct me]

if you get to crawl the site, whether using your own crawler or their api if they have one, you can always easily crawl through the pages too.

If you are to crawl nairaland for example you can use this link
https://www.nairaland.com/links/var
where var is a variable in a loop from range 0 to 100 to keep crawling from page 0 to 100.

I agree but the illuminati does exist. They are anti religious, but believe there is a loving God. The source, the one, the MONAD, ein sof.. The first grand master of illuminati was Pythagoras. Remember C2=a2+b2?
You've not even read properly on what you believe (not surprising this is a characteristic of a religious person nowadays).
Pythagoras existed years before Jesus, how is it possible for him to be associated with illuminati.
Stop reading nonsense blog posts and start reading proper history yourself, and then you'll find out the stupidity of taking illuminati seriously.

Illuminati started with the Germans for the sake of world revolution it was actually Adam Weishaupt that started the order of illuminati not Pythagoras.

When you identify a particular web service for your need, go ahead and find out how it is consumed. For instance you could go to youtube or stackoverflow to learn how to manipulate a particular web service or even ask on stackoverflow in order discover one that fits your need. I am a Java person. Sounds like you need a PHP solution. Another key thing is using the right term to describe your need when searching or asking. People who deal in stuff like these are often very accurate with jargons.
I'm actually a python programmer, don't know php.
Thanks a lot, i'll look into this "web service" later starting with goole.
