RichyBlacK:
This reminds me of North Korea's 2006 detonation of a nuclear device; when the West and her minions experience an event they never believed possible, they begin a process best described as mental self-mutilation - they begin to question the veracity of the event. In that confused state, they attempt to discredit the event as untrue, while simultaneously threatening the producers of the event with everything from air-strikes to Guantanamo Bay to nuclear "annihilation".

The question is this: How can one event simultaneously generate doubt, disbelief and all manner of rejection, and still result in serious military threats?
Surely, any person with a modicum of intelligence will understand that fears expressed regarding Iran's nuclear activities, support for terrorists and its general belligerence is not incompatible with a suspicion that Iran sometimes exaggerates its military capabilities.

If you narrow the matter down to the specific issue of Iran's latest missile tests, its missile project poses serious military threats, however,Iran goes to comical proportions(in this case, photoshop) to exaggerate the extent of its military capabilities. No lucid person will claim that this is unfeasible.

I thought this comment from an LA Times(another Obamaniac outlet) editorial was particularly apt:

The real mudslinging of this year's presidential campaign won't even start until after the party conventions in August, but it's already beginning to seem as though the Obama camp is a trifle thin-skinned. If it reacts this way to a cartoon drawn by a sympathizer who was mocking the outrageous slurs that have been directed at the candidate, what are they going to do when the Republicans start sharpening their artists' pencils?

What is a "Double Chief"? It is no longer enough to proclaim to be a 'mere' Chief,we now have 'Double Chiefs'. What distinguishes a double chief from a chief and any chance of there being triple or quadruple chiefs?

Breaking news!!! Dateline 2011-July-15
Over 1000 residents of Ajegunle, Lagos State are now in detention for breaking the new law prohibiting the use of unregistered "non-industrial" generators. Most of them were using generators with between 0.5-2.5 KVA generators whcih have been classified as "Non Industrial" generators. The minister in charge of the new law Double Chief Honorable Smart Adeyemi while talking to journalists from his 250KVA-generator-powered office complex said the government will not leave any stoned unturned in their quest to punish people that are bent on paralyzing PHCN by buying unregistered "non-industrial" generators. The government have earlier designated Dangote Group of companies as the sole importer and registrar of "non-industrial" generators. Only high-capacity generators (that can only be afforded by the high and mighty) are allowed to be brought into the country ad sold without being duly registered.

We will update you as the news develop. grin
If this is true, its effectively Govt intervention to protect Dangote's business.

John McCain was also the subject of a cartoonist's unseemly attention. Only this time, unlike the New Yorker's cartoon which was intended as a mordant attack on conservatives, this was actually intended to denigrate McCain.

Did conservatives wallow in an orgy of self-pity? No! Its mainly attacks on Jesus Obama that result in frenzied condemnations of 'racist America'.

This is a cartoon from last month's edition of the Rolling Stones portraying McCain being stabbed by Obama,Clinton and Bush which invokes McCain's torture at the hands of Vietnamese interrogators.

Manchester United have agreed to pay Tottenham £28 million for Dimitar Bebatov, who have set aside £17 million of that fee to sign Blackburn's David Bentley in a move that could spark a transfer domino effect.

Dimitar Berbatov - Manchester United agree £28 million Dimitar Berbatov fee as Tottenham close on David Bentley
Heading north: Dimitar Berbatov is on his way to Manchester United

Tottenham had been warned by United that they would be not be held to ransom in their pursuit to sign Berbatov, after they had an initial £20 million approach rebuffed over the weekend, setting a maximum limit of £25 million on the Bulgarian striker.

But reports suggest that both clubs have since reached a comprise for £2 million less than the original £30 million asking price Spurs had demanded for the player, who has scored 27 goals in the Premier League since his arrival from German side Bayer Leverkusen two years ago.

United want to pay Tottenham a fee of £18 million up front with the rest of the transfer payable after success-related clauses and appearances, similar to the arrangement they struck with the north London club for Michael Carrick in 2006.

Berbatov, 27, has made no secret of his desire to move to the champions in past and his agent Emil Danchev confirmed: "Manchester United have expressed interest in Berbatov but I cannot comment on the issue further."

@4Play,
Can any sanction really be limited to individuals? If yes, how come only Saddam did not suffer when they claimed the sanctions were targeted at his regime?
Of course they can. Sanctions can take any form.If you place a travel ban on individuals and freeze their personal bank account, that is substantially different from the trade embargo placed on Iraq.

This is good news. I am glad the UN isn't allowing the US and UK fool the world again with their deceit.

Someone claims the sanctions were targeted at Mugabe and 11 officials, wonderful. Just as the sanctions targeted at Saddam and his top government functionaries affected only Saddam and his men.
This is not a matter of 'someone claims', read the text of the resolution and you will find that the sanctions are directed against certain individuals in Govt unlike the Iraq sanctions which was more comprehensive. You love to wallow in superficial thinking.

PoliticsRe: Britain To Offer Military Aid To Deal With Niger Delta. by 4Play(m): 11:46am On Jul 12, 2008
Apparently,British defence chiefs are resisting the proposal.
Gordon Brown faces strong resistance to his plan to help Nigeria restore order in its main oil-producing region, with Britain’s defence chiefs fearing it would further stretch their resources.

The UK prime minister, who is to meet Umaru Yar’Adua, the president of Nigeria, in London next week, said he wanted to assist in protecting pipelines and shipping lanes in the Niger Delta.

He is considering offering maritime training for the Nigerian armed forces to make oil installations less vulnerable to looting.

The plans do not include deployment of British troops in significant numbers, but the country’s defence ministry is said to be resistant, warning it might further stretch military resources.

“This idea is not about sending in more troops, but it would still mean gifting the Nigerians with stuff, giving them kit,” said a senior Whitehall official. “As a result there is a bit of a spat going on over what the prime minister wants to give and what the MoD is willing to do.”

Mr Brown believes it is important to shore up security in the region because of the impact of lawlessness on Nigeria’s oil supply. Unrest in the delta has cut its capacity to pump oil by a quarter in recent months, helping to drive up world oil prices.

However, the idea of boosting maritime training for the Nigerian armed forces must overcome several hurdles if it is to be realised, not just the MoD’s resistance.

PoliticsIn Nigeria,Many People In Public Office Are Mentally Ill,says New Efcc Boss by 4Play(op): 11:39am On Jul 12, 2008
Mrs Farida Waziri, the new boss of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) was absolutely right when she told a visiting delegation of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) led by Olisa Agbakoba, NBA President that here in Nigeria too many persons in public office are mentally ill, and that to sanitise the Nigerian public space, aspiring public office holders should be subjected to psychiatric tests. "According to her" The Guardian reports, "Most of the negative character traits exhibited by public officers in the country, especially massive looting of the treasury, are symptoms of mental illness."

She even tried to identify these negative traits: the theft of public funds, primitive accumulation, and greed. "You know if you are stealing what you need, it is a different thing but if you are grabbing left, right and centre throughout, then your character should be called to question. This, she said, is necessary in order to help many Nigerians who cannot even raise a voice against some of these practices. They cannot feed three square meals while those who occupy public offices through elections, return to their villages, demolish their shanties and replace them with paradise with no regard for their neighbours who cannot feed. This is merciless". Thank you, Mrs Waziri.
