Its only until Grant has trophies in his cabinet that he can talk.No one wins trophies for simply making it to the final or coming very close.

Klaus Topmoller of Bayern Leverkusen once came 2nd in the German Cup,UCL and Bundesliga in 2002 but where is he now?

Girls naturally know when they being played, the option is now open to them to decide on which step to take. The option taken could actually vary tho. depending, on what each girl want from a guy. Many girls sense this, they know when they are being played on, their emotional attachment to the relationship truly may make them suck!!! the strength to walk away from the relationship might be what strains them, which makes some wait & hope for a change or finally walk away when they realise he can't change.

I assume the Nigerian doctors brought in to replace the US doctors would be given the same kind of training and would be exposed to the same kind of environment the US doctors were used to? undecided
Of course,if our medical schools were up to scratch,we won't be even having this debate. If American doctors start receiving their medical education in Nigeria, they too will struggle.

4 Him:
No where have i said that the standard of education is on par between both nations. I can attest to that myself having had the benefit of schooling on both sides.
However is this the fault of the average nigerian doctor? He can only work with what he has, don't expect to get gold dust from the sahara.
As long as you are not implying that Nigerian doctors are still on par with US doctors despite,as you have admitted, receiving their medical training at Nigerian institutions that,to put it mildly, are not the best in the world.

Its not a question of "fault" on the part of Nigerian doctors. Our doctors are as good as the institutions in which they learnt their trade.Simply saying, they would do better if they had the right facilities is stating the obvious, but the reality is that they don't.

I referenced the stat to bring out a point, that even with all the technological advantage of the foreign doctor, he is not immune to human error, the same yardstick by which the Nigerian doctor is openly vilified by the ignorant.
I don't think the issue is the inevitable human error but the fact that our mediocre medical schools have been churning out poor quality doctors.Poor quality doctors inevitably have a higher error rate. That doctors make errors is not in itself the issue, what is at issue is when errors are down to the quality of the doctor.
PoliticsRe: Polio Cases Double In Nigeria by 4Play(m): 11:43pm On Apr 25, 2008
@4 Him

About our doctors being almost or just as good as US doctors, that is far from the case.I would rather have a doctor who was trained at King's College London than one trained at UNTH.

Forget the hubristic nonsense Nigerians love spouting, the fact remains that we have a poor standard of education that produces poor quality graduates in all fields, including medicine.

From my brother's experience(he studied at the above 2 institutions) and that of his colleagues,Nigerian doctors are way behind in expertise compared to their foreign counterparts. Its not so much the nationality of the doctor but where he was trained.

As for US doctors being the 3rd largest cause of mortality in the US,relative to what? That stat tells us nothing in itself.Lets put it this way,if all the doctors in the US are replaced with doctors from Nigeria, mortality attributable to doctors will skyrocket.

Thank you 4Him for spoiling the other guys "runs" cheesy

What can be so difficult about wearing a simple ring? You guys wear chains, "blings", and watches all the time, yet a ring that is merely symbolic is a challenge or it seems some people are still interested in playing the field by the side.

Ok, seriously, if there are medical or work related issues not to wear a ring, that is fine. But there must be understanding between both parties.
I don't wear metal watches and have never worn jewelry. Its a real problem,we deserve understanding and not condemnation. sad

What makes u think that its only 80 million illerate children worlwide? Where did u get your nonsense figures from?
How apt!In a thread about illiterate Nigerians,a barely literate Nigerian pops up.

almondjoy:
80million illiterate kids world wide divided by 11million illiterate kids in Nigeria.

7% of the world illiterate children are in Nigeria?
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm! Why am I not surprised? undecided
Its even worse. . .closer to 14%.

oldie:
The figures given range from 60m to 115m world-wide
I do not believe that 11m of them are Nigerians
Sometime, some kids who work and at the same time attend schools are also counted
Some go to evening schools too
Whatever the figures are, I do not think any child should be denied education
The latest chart is shown below
The North has a teeming populace of illiterate kids. Even if the worldwide figure is a 115m,we are still pushing close to 10%

TV/MoviesYou Won't See This On Cnn. Cnn's Richard Quest Is A Perv! by 4Play(op): 7:29pm On Apr 24, 2008
Anybody who watches CNN would have come across the eccentric journalist,Richard Quest.

In case you haven't seen him lately,it may have something to do with the fact that he was caught in Central Park,New York with a packet of crystal meth and a intimacy gadget in his boot.He also had a rope tied round his neck while looping same rope on his genitals.

The future of quirky CNN presenter Richard Quest hangs in the balance today after he was arrested in the early hours of Friday morning in Central Park.

CNN said it had “no comment at this stage” on whether Quest would continue to work for the channel or, if he does remain, whether his programmes – the monthly feature programmes Quest and Business Traveller – would continue to air.

The decorated journalist has won a number of awards for his broadcasts, including Business Travel media personality of the year.

A spokesperson for the New York Police department confirmed that Quest was arrested in Central Park on Friday 18 April at 3.42am. “He was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance, believed to be methamphetamine and for being in Central Park after closing time. He was stopped initially because he was spotted in the park after the curfew,” said the spokesman.

Where did you get your info from? because it is totally opposite what I've stated.
Of course, Pope is an exceptional divine entity and I will be stupid not to recognize this fact.
Instead of picking and choosing my word, why not settle down and try to understand where I'm coming from.

This is absolutely not a fight, guys!
I don't know why you keep addressing the Pope as a "divine entity".

The reality is that,in today's secularist world, Govts have a bigger role to play in ensuring peace than religious figures.I don't think there is a state of conflict or animosity between M'uslims and Christians in general. To the extent that any animosity exists, that is mainly due to policies by various Govts in the West and the Middle-East.

A lot of the M'uslim riots we have in Northern Nigeria is due to the undue influence of Saudi money which trains clerics and provides hate literature.

You would think that the foreign based ones will simply grab the nearest Western man they can find and totally forget about the Nigerian men.

He absolutely did his thing as usual without any questions, but he did not accept or acknowledge the invitation of the Mu slim society in United States.
I think the pertinent question is why we have the M'uslim American Society when we can't have a similar Christian Saudi Arabian Society or even merely build a church in Saudi Arabia.

We should start from there before addressing who the Pope meets when he visits a Christian nation. The Pope regularly meets M'uslims in various capacities-he recently visited Turkey-so I don't see why he must visit this particular organisation. You don't see American Hindus and Buddhists complaining that he didn't visit them.

PoliticsRe: America Vs The World: Why? by 4Play(m): 1:56pm On Apr 22, 2008
Mr Wikipedia, empathy is not the same as feeling or even merely just a "sub-set" of feeling.

If you make a conscious decision to "put yourself into someoneelse' shoes" or to see things through another's perspective, you haven't made a decision to have a feeling.

The whole essence of feeling,as used in Seun's context,is that it is not a product of your internal decision making process.Put simply, you can't decide to love, pity or hate someone, although, you can decide to empathise. Of course,to the extent that empathy can be innate, some elements of it can rightly be described as a subset of feeling, but mostly, its not.Feeling can also be a subset of empathy.
PoliticsRe: America Vs The World: Why? by 4Play(m): 1:03pm On Apr 22, 2008
Seun:
You know the difference between a normal human being and a psychopath? Feelings. Empathy.

A psychopath thinks: "hey, this guy is in my way, maybe I should kill him. Yeah, it's the smartest thing to do in this situation". So he commits murder. A normal human being thinks, "that's nasty".

When a psychopath commits murder, the first thought in his mind is, "it was unavoidable; how can I avoid getting caught". A normal human being thinks "I've done a terrible thing; how can I ever forgive myself".
You have just admitted that you are debating based on "feelings" so spare us the mutilation of psychological terms.Feeling is not the same as empathy.Bin Laden,Hitler and Stalin all had feelings but they didn't have empathy.Empathy is essentially the ability to put yourself in someone's shoes. To see things from another's perspective.

When we address major issues with our "feelings" as opposed to our head(which we Africans specialise in)it leads to catastrophic results. The rampaging mobs in Kenya or Rwanda all had plenty of "feelings". . . . .feelings of hate and despise.

The GW Bush government doesn't believe in free press. "If you are not for us and our war, you are against us."
Even Seun comes up with some of the most hideous hogwash atimes. The current US Govt doesn't believe in free press? huh Your evidence was the above quote which was made to foreign Govts especially Middle-East Govt.

Question:Is the US media "unfree" ?

The waste of the lives of US soldiers and millions of Arabs for the sake of oil price. The impending war against Iran. The regular practice of raping of female US soldiers and Arab girls. The torture of prisoners who may or may not be innocent. The wasting of trillions of dollars to fight a useless war thus damaging the value of the dollar that the entire world economy relies upon, while enriching government contractors and their affiliates in power. The massive violation of human rights (both Arabs and Americans) both domestically elsewhere in the war against oil price. The lies that have led to millions of deaths.
All the above is about Iraq.US foreign policy according to Seun is Iraq,Iraq and Iraq.Lost in his analysis is US policies that stopped the mayhem in South Sudan, responsible for most of the humanitarian aid received by Africans, tripled direct aid to Africa, debt relief for the 1st time in decades,1.1m HIV+ Africans living on US funded antiretrovirals,e.t.c

Millions of Arabs dead? Not even the infamous Lancet study carried out by a card carrying member of the Democratic party and released every election cycle has made such claims.

Regular practice of raping Arabs? Iraq must be bursting with caucasian children at this point. This is what happens when people fail to apply a sense of perspective to news stories they come across.

The depreciation of the dollar is because of war? A war that costs $100bn per annum is causing dollar depreciation in a $14 trillion economy?

I think you need to get out of Nigeria a lot more before talking of "massive violation" of human rights.
PoliticsRe: What Has Nigeria Got To Show For High Oil Prices by 4Play(m): 12:26pm On Apr 22, 2008
Seun:
High oil prices as a result of supply failure in Nigeria cannot benefit us.
This is because even if the price is higher, we are selling much less oil.

You see?
We are not selling much less oil.Oil prices have gone up 1000% since 1999,supply has been fairly steady because production capacity has increased compared to 1999 even if militants keep knocking out some output.

We have benefited from high oil prices though more can be done.We have paid down our external debts, have a huge dollar reserve to cushion against any economic downturn in the future and sustained moderate GDP growth for some years now.
