This is one of the dumbest, stupidest, downright imbecillic threads I have ever come across Millions of people are dying around the world.Millions of people are dieing of diseases Millions of men are going to bed without getting laid, and this is what someone wants to discuss ![]() |
Col Angus ![]() |
Here is an article on Didymus-http://iwpr.net/?p=acr&s=f&o=324295&apc_state=heniacr200610 Here is one of his exchanges with a journalist,Violet Gonda- DM: There is nobody who is starving! AY! STOP LYING my dear! I will call you a liar very soon if you say there are people who are starving in Bulawayo! VG; Well, you are already calling me a liar so it is pointless to say , (interrupted) DM; You are lying of course. You are lying and I am telling you that you are lying |
@davidylan In the eyes of the Govt, its not humans, just extra people ![]() Maybe they subscribe to the Malthusian theory that there is a maximum level of the human populace that can be fed by limited food resources ![]() |
@Lewa The thing no funny o How can the person responsible for food distribution be saying that half of his country people are better off dead? Calling them extra peopleNigerian leaders are even better |
You can't advice the girl to just dump the man because of his reluctance to commit. Most Nigerian men in their 20s are reluctant to commit. So its not like as if their is a massive pool of men out there waiting to make commitments to her when she leaves him |
See them Always looking for who to drag to the altar ![]() |
I don't know what all these envious fans are doing on our thread ![]() Its great that Scholes suspension is over.It afforded him an opportunity to get some needed rest which will come in handy in the business end of the season. I was pleasantly surprised by Park's performances and was annoyed he didn't start against Boro.He is a very useful player and seems to be repaying the money spent on him. Smith looked impressive, especially holding the ball and bringing others into the game,he is never going to score 30 goals a season but he is a very useful player.Nice to have him back.Am not concerned that Larsson has gone back.I thought he didn't do much and I would prefer Smith to him It is clear we need to get rid of Richardson at the end of the season. He is completely useless Heinze showed he is a better left-back than Evra and should retain his place even when EVRA recovers Am even more confident now about our prospects against Roma.By then Saha and Solsjkaer should be back and we be back to nearly full strenght |
@Afam Can you imagine anywhere in the world where a Vice-President can be "indicted" for corruption and the President simply claims ignorance? If you delegate some of your powers to your deputy, isn't fair to question the President's role in any abuse of such powers? Had Atiku had no political ambitions, would we know of these things? |
naijacutee:Why should he be driving a car with tinted glasses? That is a treasonable offence as far as the Police are concerned ![]() My car in Nigeria was not tinted but because it was all black,a Policeman once told me that I should "sort" him cos it is hard to see inside my vehicle ![]() |
In Enugu, about 3 years ago.A group of kids were arrested when coming back from catechism classes I was once taken to the police station before for some crap reason.I was driving and was stopped by the Police ,they were checking for the usuall vehicle "papers". I had everything(at least I thought),insurance, driving license, sales receipt, vehicle licence,ECMR,fire extinguisher. He even checked to see my engine number matched.Just when I thought I was free,he shouted "thank God".He said I had failed to sign my ECMR(bear in the mind that the IG publicly announced that we are no longer required to obtain ECMR).i ended up at the station where I paid the ransom of 500 Naira There was another incident where my mum reported to the Police that our Mai Guard stole our Sattelite decoders. The Police came and told my mum that her son will be arrested for the mai guard could not have gained access without inside help. ;DNothing came of it,but I just couldn't help laughing when I heard it ![]() Some of the stories of what Nigerians go through in the hands of the Police can be downright humorous and some can be harrowing |
McKren:So when the constitution is "clear",the courts cannot interprete it? The court can interprete any part of the constitution. To say that the courts are interpreting, should not been taken too literally. |
Afam:Any powers he has is such that the President delegates to him. These powers you outlined where exercised at the behest of the President. |
Secretary for Administration in charge of food distribution, Didymus Mutasa, comments: “We would be better off with only six million people, with our own people who support the liberation struggle; we don’t want all these extra people.” The above was a Zimbabwean official's reaction to a question regarding the prospect of starvation in Zimbabwe Says Mugabe: “Some are crying that they were beaten. Yes, you will be thoroughly beaten. When the police say move, you move.” |
fynewaka:Am getting even more confident about playing Roma.We have not been playing that well but we have been winning regularly. Roma don't look so great either. They drew at the weekend. |
Is HITV broadcasting beyond Lagos? I suppose those living in other parts of Nigeria will have to wait for some years to start watching Premiership football again |
Quote from Adblues- Also the news articles on the vanguard website makes for interesting reading, Nweke Jr. was involved in the negotiation for HITV's premiership rights, it simply means some politician/top shot has some interest in HITV, which makes the whole issue much more understandable!! That is what is really at the heart of the matter. Some well connected people have seen an opportunity to make money from pay TV in Nigeria and have decided to use the instrument of Govt to force their way through. |
mukina2:Are you still enjoying yourself? ![]() |
@drlawng There was another major case in the UK of a gay man who was initially HIV positive but eventually started testing negative. The man suspected that the initial tests were wrong and planned to sue but it was confirmed that they were properly conducted. Another thing is,that it seems some people are immune to the virus |

Is that not an architectural model of the stadium? |
Under our legal system, the final arbiters on the constitution are the courts. Not the executive or the legislative branch but the judiciary What Iwu is effectively saying ,on behalf of his puppet master(Obasanjo),is that he not the courts should determine the interpretation of the constitution. His word is final and he knows better than the damned judiciary, after all he can read the constitution If Nigerians prefer this,so be it.It is noteworthy that the National Bar Association have come out against Iwu's decision |
Afam:Are you unhappy that twice as many Iraqis prefer living under Maliki than under Saddam? You would prefered that they say they are unhappy If a plurality of Iraqis prefer this situation, then so be it.It is irrelevant that Bush might be happy .This is where the so-called Bush Derangement Syndrome .If a situation might make Bush happy then it is preferable that a contrary situation obtains which will make Bush unhappy eventhough that contrary situation makes millions of people unhappy Many people delight in the suffering of Iraqis because they think that is a blow to the Americans and to Bush in particular. That is really sad indeed |
@Easyy You are an intelligent man and any intelligent man will see that there is nothing contradictory in the 2 polls we published. Lets summarise what the 2 polls tell us Most Iraqis feel less safe than in 2005 and have no confidence in the Coalition forces forces.86% fear for the safety of their family members .All these are hardly surprising However, bearing in mind that this thread is about trying Bush for invading Iraq, the most remarkable thing is this excerpt from one of the polls- Yet 49% of those questioned preferred life under Nouri al-Maliki, the prime minister, to living under Saddam. Only 26% said things had been better in Saddam’s era, while 16% said the two leaders were as bad as each other and the rest did not know or refused to answer. Now according to you and Afam,Bush should be tried for bringing about a situation which a plurality of Iraqis-a ratio of 2 to 1-prefer . Another thing is that the 2 polls show that most Iraqis don't think that their country is engaged in a civil war. I was watching the BBC News this morning and they also mentioned that the poll shows that only a third of Iraqis want Coalition Forces to immediately depart .That is to say,two-thirds of Iraqis don't want Coalition troops to immediately depart Whatever we gleaned from the two polls,we know this. The views of most Iraqis are not as clearcut as most people make out. Most people will have you believe that the overwhelming majority of Iraqis will prefer life under Saddam The most important thing which is relevant to this thread is that there are no grounds for saying we should try Bush when on a 2 to 1 ratio most Iraqis prefer the situation which Bush has brought about to the situation which obtained before Why people should insist on Bush being tried for removing Saddam in the light of Iraqi opinion is baffling |
Razorr:Na big fat lie.Do you want us to bet on it that no Premiership club will be coming to Naija ![]() Someone mentioned due process. That is why many people think Nigerians are uncivilised. If you have a broadcaster infringing rights of exclusivity, you simply go to the courts and obtain an injunction prohibiting them from continuing. If they continue, then you can have grounds for arrest It is only a people who abide by the law of the jungle who find nothing wrong with this story. This is March, when where these exclusive rights obtained? in the middle of the season? ![]() |

Those who put up a post just to mock someone's grammar should endeavour to put their's in order.Better to use cliches than to sound grammatically challenged @cute-ass Damn girl, you beat me to it ![]() |
This is an excerpt from the article- Remarked Sa’ad: "I have made this point before and I will continue to make it and we all are going to make it until the National Assembly amend the constitution to involve traditional rulers in the affairs of this country because this country belongs to all of us. "It is not when there is problem somewhere that the government will run to us to seek assistance and help. Of course, we will offer our helps since we can not sit down, fold our alms to see this country up in flames. An amendment of the constitution to involve traditional rulers? |
gidig:What a bare-faced lie One or two Premiership club will visit Nigeria for a pre-season tour because HITV now got the right to broadcast Premiership football? |
Seun:The average household bill for electricity in the UK is £383(91000Naira) per annum. That works out at about 7600 Naira a month.Do you think that the average Nigerian family can afford that amount? Remember the UK has one of the most deregulated markets in the World.Even if we adjust for the fact that we have ample domestic gas resources and that our electricty does not run for 24 hours(unlike the UK),I am very sceptical that Nigerians will be able and willing to bear the full cost of electricity. It is true that subsidies are inherently wasteful and promotes corruption but I think it is only the way the policy will work for the average Nigerian References made to the deflationary effect on prices in the communications market are inapplicable. Before deregulation, prices in the Nigerian communications market were known to be far above worldwide averages.Telephones were not seen by the Govt as an essential commodity.Remember David Mark's(former Communications Minister) comments to the effect that 'phones are not for the poor'. On the other hand, electric tarrifs(like fuel prices) in Nigeria are already one of the cheapest in the World and will only go up after deregulation and not down. They have been artificially held down by the Govt If we have a rapid spike in electric prices, that will be catastrophic for the economy with inflationary consequences. While I am reluctant to endorse subsidies,I think this is one area where I will support it for private consunmers of electricity We can have a fully deregulated market for industrial users with no subsidies. It is industry and not residential users that will benefit the most from deregulation and hence will be prepared and able to pay the full cost.It beats having to purchase private power generation capacity |
Another defeat for the Arse Everton 1 Arse 0Great win for Everton. They deserved it after being denied a penalty for Lehman's foul on Andy Johnson and hitting the post twice. Useless Gooners ![]() |
