See them,useless club.

Can't even beat Bolton

While top teams Like Man Utd are safely into the next round, useless Arsenal are going to the Reebok for a replay

Well done, carry on with your transition which never ends.

How can the top ten greatest rappers include the Fugees and the whole of the Wu-Tang Clan.So perhaps Lauryn Hill and Pras are great rappers.

So ODB,U-GOD,cappadona,Inspectah Decck are all among the greatest?

If u are going to include a group, why not NWA who had Dre,Eazy-E,Ice Cube

WhY not DPG,cYPRESS hILL

What the hell is Outkast doing on that list?

While Man Utd are safely into the next round,Arsenal have to play a replay against Bolton

What a useless bunch

Our match against Portsmouth was fantastic,we scored more goals than the officials could cancel .The more they were cancelling the goals, the more we were scoring.

i started supporting Man uTD from 1994 when most people my age were supporting AC Milan or Ajax Amsterdam

I was supporting them partly because unlike most teams in England at the time, including Arsenal, they were the only ones who passed the ball on the ground unlike the long ball system that was common then.

The people that annoy me today are the Chelsea fans who did not exist 3 or 4 years ago,I mean its alrite to become a Chelsea fan when u are a kid,but to become one in your 20s,u deserve to be jailed

Contrary to your opinion Wenger led the outcry against Platini,he was shown on SkySports consoling himself that EUFA works through a committee system so Platini cannot on his own change the rules

The man was so scared that he became a legal expert on EUFA's constituition

That means I have hope of being able to start my business in Nigeria with billions of naira as well in bank loans

@Uche2Nna

For God's sake, almost every dead artiste had some unrecorded songs.U do not in every case try to milk a dead man's legendary status by putting some crap songs together based on that person's left over lyrics

U said if only the songs had good beats /producers,that is not the problem. Most of those tracks are unsalvagable

These people regularly do songs that when they were alive thought was not good enough to be offered to the public.Sometimes it was not the intention to record them, just something they put together when they had nothing better to do

Some people don't even realise how those songs were put together, someone was asking how come 2 Pac did a song with Elton John. For many young people ,most of their contact with Pac's music is through these posthumous songs and that is unfortunate because most of those songs were not of the quality Pac would have consented to. perhaps that was why he never recorded them

Is this list based on best lyricists or or what

What is MC Lyte doing in a list of the top 10 greatest rappers of all time?

As for Jay Z,i don't know what people see in him but he has not done one good track since "Can I live"
Music/RadioRe: Top 10 Greatest Rappers Of All Time by 4Play(m): 1:29pm On Jan 27, 2007
Method Man has been rapping since 1993,that is 14 years

Fiddy has been rapping since 1998,that is 9 years

If someone who has been rapping for 9 or 14 years does not deserve to be on the list, then who is.

How long has rap been mainstream?
EducationRe: Who Are The Most Educated Nigerians? by 4Play(m): 1:24pm On Jan 27, 2007
Its impossible to say who are the most educated people in Nigeria because of poppulation differences. Some of the smaller ethnic groups might be the most educated but we can't tell because of their relatively small populace

No one has mentioned the Itsekiris and all the smaller ethnic groups in the Niger-Delta

One good indicator will be finding out things like how many Nigerians hold patents for inventions in the US or loooking at Nigerians currently at Ivy League instituitions like MIT or Harvard

Even then population differentials can paint a confusing picture

@naijafan
dre is the best producer rap has ever seen, but he is certainly no rapper.

In fact ,I wouldn't place him in the top 10

Jay-Z does not belong to that list

50 Cents is a better lyricist, people dislike because of his many childish beefs with other rappers.

This is my list:
Biggie
2 Pac
Nas
Rakim
Method Man
50 Cents
Snoop
Prodigy
Eminen

CelebritiesRe: Nigerian Celebrities Should Be Ashamed by 4Play(m): 12:49pm On Jan 27, 2007
@Seun

Nobody is calling for charitable giving to be made compulsory, the point being made is that celebrities should take a lead from foremost capitalists like Warren Buffet and give more to charity

If 6 in 10 celebs give substantial amounts to charity that will be sufficient, nobody expects or demands that every single celeb should give to charity

Who is talking about past glory?

Presently we are 12 points ahead of Arsenal,Arsenal are closer to Reading in points total than they are to Man Utd

The fact of the matter is that Man Utd's past is better than Arsenal's,present is better and the future will remain better

i wonder why Wenger was leading the outcry in England against calls by Michel Paltini, the new EUFA President,to reduce Champions League places to 3 clubs for the top nations?
CrimeRe: Sexual Abuse In Nigeria by 4Play(m): 12:36pm On Jan 27, 2007
@Funkbaby

I disagree totally with your post .

Firstly,u sought to repudiate LoverBwoy's assertion that there are few rape convictions in Nigeria by pointing to a single case wherein action was taken against an alleged rapist.

Funny enough,in the case u pointed to there was no conviction. In your words the accussed was "remanded" in prison, then subsequently let out on bail after which, surprise, suprise,he absconded. How that proves conviction of rapists in Nigeria, only God knows.

if anything ,all your example shows is the inadequacy of the legal system in dealing with rape

Even if playing devil's advocate,we accept that the case resulted in actual conviction,it does not in anyway repudiate the assertion that in Nigeria, there are few convictions.I studied law in Nigeria, and it was a well known fact that generally there are few cases of that result convictions, few prosecutions of rapists in the first place .

your advice that rape victims should let go is utterly insensitive.A Woman having suffered the outrage of rape and having seen the rapist just like most other rapists in society go scot free,is very justified in sensitising the public as to the inadequacy of actions against rapists.

The idea that they should "let go" is ridiculous, campaigning on rape issues is part of the way of dealing with it.Rape leaves its victims with mental scars and one of the ways of dealing with this mental scar for many people is by confronting the problem.Burying their heads in the sand and wishing it away does nothing to help them.

Most human beings deal with problems by talking about it not keeping it inside

Who is on top of the League a whopping 12 points clear of Arsenal?

Who has scored more goals than Arsenal?

Who has conceded fewer goals than Arsenal

Who has won more games than Arsenal?

Who has lost fewer games than Arsenal?

Who actually went into a Champion's League Final and came out victorious?

Who is the biggest club in the whole of world?

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by 4Play(m): 10:04pm On Jan 26, 2007
That face is the face of a winner. This is a man who has won almost as many trophies in 27 years as Arsenal FC has won since 1886(12 league titles to Arsenal's 13,3 European trophies to Arsenal's 2)

Arsenal fans wish dearly that they had him as manager instead of the overhyped Arsene Wenger  who has never won a European trophy in his life  .

A great man who was knighted for his outstanding acheivements,a sporting colosus

The Emperor of Old Trafford, slayer of Wenger,a true Scotsman

The one and only Sir Alexander Chapman Ferguson CBE

PS:At the end of the season,we will be able to say that he has won as many league titles as Arsenal have won since 1886
CrimeRe: Sexual Abuse In Nigeria by 4Play(m): 8:49pm On Jan 26, 2007
Nigerians have a shocking attitude to sexual abuse, they pretend it does not happen and that if it does in the case of female victims,it is the female's fault.

Rape is known to be rampant in the campuses and come to think of it ,the campuses represents some of the most enlightened segment of the Nigerian society. If that segment has such high incidents of rape,u have to wonder what the rest of society is up to.

One of the most fustrating things is the way the issue of rape is addressed,University authorities admonish girls to dress "decently",as if that was the source of the problem.

Very few rape convictions are made in the courts thus entrenching a culture of impunity

You can't help but marvel at the sheer ignorance being espoused here.Nigeria does not have the ability to exploit oil by itself.

i wonder what stops any of the innumerable oil coys being run by Nigerians, especially ex-Govt officials, from carrying out oil exploitation all by themselves without the use of foreign technical partners.

I hope any of the Nigerians who work in the oil industry will contribute to this thread,to end this exhibit of ignorance.

How odd.Same people who expressed misgivings about the hanging of Saddam Hussein,a mass murderer, are not outraged over the hanging of a human being for drug smuggling.

I have no sympathy for the argument that drug smugglers should be hung when drug users get off lightly

Why should the buyer of drugs suffer any less punishment than the seller?

Hey,don't be suprised if there are members of the Singaporean Govt that use hard drugs
I wonder if Singapore will proceed to hang that man if he was American ,Westerner or is hanging confined to Africans.
PoliticsRe: Western Business Interests In Africa by 4Play(m): 4:28pm On Jan 25, 2007
Well how can u argue with someone who thinks that Nigeria has the expertise to explore and exploit oil resources. grin

Not even Russia can operate its petroleum industry without Western help.

Presuming that the platform story is true,I wonder who designed and fabricated the platform in the first place, who made all the technical equipment used on the platform.Am sure it was not Nigerians.

The fact of the matter is that we cannot exploit our resources ourselves.

Reference to unsubstantiated criminal activities is pointless,if we expelled all the foreigners from Nigeria, our oil industry will close down.If u think that Nigeria's problem is the likes of Shell, well kudos.

We can see how NNPC is fantastically managing our refineries.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by 4Play(m): 4:05pm On Jan 25, 2007
Arsenal are in contention for the league, the league cup that is

The fact of the matter is that if Arsenal fans were honest, they will rather be in our position(6 points clear) than in their current 4th postion, fending off mighty Bolton.

Arsenal fans wish secretely to change places with the Red Devils.

Imagine a club that just a few years ago went through the entire season without losing a match, have been reduced to scrapping for 4th place with the likes of Bolton and Spurs.

The excuse of youth is ridiculous, when Man Utd went through a similar transition,we won the double in our first season.Arsenal are struggling to break into the top three not to talk of winning the league.

Goodluck with the Carling Cup,we will settle for winning the league

(1) Because they enjoy helping others. (2) To enhance their image in the eyes of the public.
So what is wrong in calling to the attention of celebs, the fact that charitable giving can be self satisfactory and is good public relations? They kill 2 birds with one stone, they get to do good while enhancing their sense of enjoyment and self image.
Seun:
Footballer earn millions much for playing football because of the millions of fans addicted to the game.
That is partly true. However part of the reason for the wage inflation is due to the Bosman ruling. In essence their wealth is partly due to a product of law than simple economics. Some of that wealth can disappear if the EU accepts proposals for a salary cap that will regulate wages

It might not be too much to ask footballers, for whom clubs often spend over 50% of their turnover to give back to the community.A lot of clubs have gone under trying to pay these wages while laying off people on meagre wages

My conclusion is that their is a case to be made for asking celebs to give back not just for the good humanity but for theirs. They should follow the examples of other philanthropists who have done same.

In many cases the more celebs are seen as stuck up,the more likely it is there will be public resentment against them which will be inimical to their interests. There will be greater calls for regulation and less suport for enforcing piracy laws when it comes to illegal downloading of music and movies which actually hurts celebs in their pockets
Nairaland GeneralRe: USA complaining about China's Missile by 4Play(m): 12:47am On Jan 25, 2007
i think u would find that it is not jus the US that raised concerns about the tests.More importantly China's neighbours were even more incensed.

China is viewed with suspicion in the region having occupied part of India's territory, ethnically cleansed Tibet and has territorial disputes with Russia and Japan.

What these sorts of tests do is simply add to those tensions by encouraging an arms race.Countries like Japan and Taiwan have desisted from going nuclear at the promtings of the US.Any arms tests, encourages neighbours to invest even more in arms to so as to come up with ever more sophisticated weapons.

Don't expect people to just stand by and marvel at the tests.

The implications for the US are grave at the moment but not as much as most people suggest.

The tests was the 4th test after the first 3 missed there target. The target itself was a low orbiting and massive weather sattelite which is very easy to hit

American military satellittes orbit at a higher level and are much smaller making them very difficult to hit.If the Chinese found it difficult to hit a large low orbiting satellite, they are going to struggle with American ones.

However ,expect the Americans to come up with even smaller and higher orbitting satellites and more innovative space technology and the Chinese try to stay in step. That is how an arms race starts, oneside comes up with something, another trys to outsmart it and cycle ensues until we continue coming up with ever innovative ways to kill
