CareerRe: Why Should NNPC And LNG Discriminate Between 2-1 And 2-2? by 4Play(m): 5:59pm On Feb 02, 2007
While noone trusts Nigerian degrees, apart from some Nigerians, they are about the best measure of competence.Hence the classification of degrees into 2-1 and 2-2 e.t.c,remains the one of the most reliable metrics for assesing job applicants.

Here in the Western world, chances are u will be working under someone who does not even have a degree

@dunzpetro

So presumably people  have a better rest of mind in Port Harcourt than people in London.

Of all the arguments that u can make for not living abroad, suggesting u have a better rest of mind in Nigeria than say the U.K,is laughable.

Even your assertion that u are taxed heavily is illogical. The fact of the matter is that disposable income in the West is far higher than in Nigeria. After all the tax is removed from your wages,u still earn income higher on average than what is obtainable in Nigeria without tax.

It is not as if the tax is neccesarily money down the drain,u still benefit from the public services it pays over.Govt corruption in Nigeria counts as a tax on Nigerians. Its difference from taxation in the West,is that in the West u are taxed from your wages,in Nigeria u are taxed before the money has a chance to be reflected on your wages.

Wait, where is this place wher u can buy a degree for only £1000, I thot that only happens in America and Toronto huh
i could use an extra one u know
At UNN,the price of a 2-1 for law students as at 2004 was 250,000 naira.Taking in inflation,it is still affordable. The new regime might also take up the price. However,if u think of the benefits over a lifetime,it is worth it.

I don't think a 1st class is buyable for that will be going too far.

There was a story of a girl who was so rich, she was offered a 2-1 for her money, she thought that will be too much given the fact that she only comes to school for exams. She took a 2-2 instead.

So u can go for a 2-1 without attending lectures if u are very rich and shameless grin.Or u can settle for a 2-2.

Anything,as long its not a Ist class.

.In my secondary school the best JAMB student in one particular year was a guy called Daddy Ruff. The "Daddy" part of his nickname, was not due to his love for Puff Daddy. No,it was because he had failed so many times and repeated, that he was now called Daddy, due to his age.

By some magical powers,he graduated with the best JAMB results, while a student who had 5A1s and 4A2s,had to wait another year to enter his 2nd choice University because his JAMB was not up to the cut off mark. How will it be when the likes of Daddy Ruff where passing with flying colors grin

Nigeria is a wonderful place ;DAnybody who denies it does not know what he/she is talking about.Whereelse can u get such great opportunities for little effort .
SportsRe: African Youth Championship: Congo 2007 by 4Play(m): 8:26pm On Feb 01, 2007
Let us remember that at the moment ,Freddy Adu is a 17 year old, playing at senior level.A lot of people have asked why he has not progressed since his early days,I wonder what criteria they are using to judge him.In those early days,he was playing at youth level

The vast majority of youth prodigys do not look impressive when they move on to senior level.Do u remember youth prodigys for Man Utd like Luc Chadwick,Micheal Stewart,Danny Higinbotham,Jonathan Greening. All these were outstanding at youth level, but mediocre at senior level. Some of those who later fufilled their potential, where mediocre for the first few years at senior level

The fact that he has not progressed cannot simply be attributed to cheating.Only a tiny minority of youth prodigys eventually progress at senior level.By your logic, most are cheats

When Adu came to the US at the age of 8,unless his mother lied at the time,it will be impossible for them to subsequently cheat.

Given Adu's high profile because of his youth, don't u think that there are many media outlets that will be prepared to disclose any age cheating on his part.Do u think that Ghana where he originates from is so primitive, that the media can't discover the real truth by snooping around?

Last season we were dispapointed to come 2nd,Arseanl fans were lighting firecrackers when the poisoined Spurs team came slipped and they ended in 4th place

Imagine that,we are devastated with 2nd , u are overjoyed with just coming 4th.That is the difference btw mediocrity and greatness.

Besides u are asking why I am happy we beat Watford, remind me again what happened when u met Sheffield grin
PoliticsRe: Black President In America by 4Play(m): 12:05am On Feb 01, 2007
I heard the Clinton campaign was behind the madrassa story in which he was alleged to have attended a madrassa in Indonesia .

The honest truth is, that the fact that he is black or half black has actually helped his campaign. He is riding a wave of support owing to the fact that many in the country are eager to see a black person run for President.

This does not deny that he is intelligent and just as qualified as many others in the race or that there are equally many people in the country who detest the idea of a black man in the White House

However Obama would not have been this popular if he was just another White politician with the same qualifications and experience or lack of one

When Rooney and RONALDO were Fabregas's age, they were established internationals. Is it not this Fabregas led midfield that has kept u guys in 4th place?

Fabregas's presence in midfield for Spain was seen by many in Spain as the main reason why they were weak in the World Cup.Since then he has lost his regular place on the starting line up.What did Van Persie contribute to Holland in last World Cup

On the other hand Rooney and Ronaldo are indispensable for their various national teams
SportsRe: African Youth Championship: Congo 2007 by 4Play(m): 1:46pm On Jan 31, 2007
People who think that Freddy Adu,Rooney,Terry and their likes are not what they say they are do not have an idea of how things work in the West. There is no way anyone of these can hide their real ages from the public.Everything is in a national database

We are just looking for a way to excuse our rampant cheating
PoliticsRe: Niger Delta: Fg Spent $2bn On Arms – Atiku by 4Play(m): 1:35pm On Jan 31, 2007
Nigeria cannot solve the Niger-Delta problem militarily only.We need to adopt a concillatory approach to the issue instead of buying weapons and escalating the situation. The irony is that these weapons are paid for with Niger-Delta money

The reluctance of the US to sell weapons to Nigeria and the eagerness of China to step into the vacumn illustrates a problem that China's rise brings.China not being a democracy does not give a damn about what Nigeria intends to do with weapons they sell to it

U have a race to the bottom diplomacy from the likes of China.Like the days of Abacha when the West stopped military aid to Nigeria but China stepped into the mix,we are going to see more of these in the future
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by 4Play(m): 1:18pm On Jan 31, 2007
Imagine these Arsenal rodents have the audacity to talk. There team is a shadow of its former glory.A team that used to challenge for the league title every season,is now contented to finish 4th

There excuse is transition ,as if they are the only ones that ever did a transition.

When Man Utd underwent a similar transition in 1995,we won the league and FA Cup at first attempt. The generation of Scholes,Beckham,Giggs

Our young players like Rooney,Ronaldo,Foster,Rossi,Lupue e.t.c are on far better level than Fabregas,Walcot and Van Persie
CareerRe: Why Should NNPC And LNG Discriminate Between 2-1 And 2-2? by 4Play(m): 1:11pm On Jan 31, 2007
When I was in University,u could buy a 2 1 for 250,000naira.So that means there are a lot of fake 2 1s out there. This being Nigeria, there are a lot of dubious degrees out there,so u should give everyone a chance.

Another thing is a 2 2 from UNN Law Faculty is not the same as a 2 2 from Nasarawa State University

It is hard to trust degree qualifications in Nigeria,so anyone demanding a particular set of qualifications will be taking big risks.I can't even trust JAMB scores.

Here in the UK,everyone gets a 2 1,depending on the University, sometimes as much as 80 percent qualify with at least 2 1

Be consoling yourself.U don't know u are an old man.U are suprised that there are a lot of people younger than u actually playing football

We go into these youth competitions with a win at all cost mentality. It is self defeating to go them with overaged players to ensure that we win

Our focus should be on the development of young talent.Whether we win or not should not be the issue
