All those men shouting "Muqtada" as SADDAM was about to be hung must have been Americans If not for Americans, the Iraqis would have released Saddam in the spirit of peace and reconciliation. I heard the rope was bought on Ebay by the Iraqis(another case of American culpability) |
@Reverend Some kind of law and order indeed ,apart from the hundreds of thousands dead that is The place was worse than Nigeria, that is how bad it was If u include the dead from the sanctions, all the wars, mass killings,we are talking about over a million dead Not talk of a shrinking economy |
@Afam Oh boy get a life ![]() |
TayoD:@TayoD Was it not a SonyEriccson phone? Should we not blame Japan and Sweden for their involvement? |
I f a nation is 97 percent muslim then it will be correct to refer to it as muslim, abi?ireespective of whether or not its Christian populace is 3 %,2.7%e.t.c No nation is 100 percent of single religion |
U know a stock will crash when everyone is talking about it! Heck even a couple of my former female shoolmates are talking about it Often a stock is only worth buying when noone knows about it Unless u only intend to hold the stock for a few months i don't think it is worth buying Who was it again that said that he knew he had to sell as soon as his shoe shiner started to talk about stocks? |
@Afam Iraqis are muslims (97 percent) and only 3 percent of them belong to other religions other than Islam of which christianity is just one of them. Iraq being a muslim society has no qualms with the death penalty .If they are going to hang other ordinary criminals, hardly suprising that they will want to hang a mass murderer Some of the attacks againnst the US seems to presume that had the Iraqis been left to their devices, they will not hang Saddam In a country with a Shia populace of 60 percent of the entire population and a Kurdish population of 20 percent,it is fair to say that hanging Saddam is the popular option. We can hyperventillate all we want but the fact is that none of us is either and Iraqi Kurd or Shia-they bore the brunt of Saddam's atrocities-so we don't appreciate their point of view The only qualms I have with the hanging was the pace of it,none of the other cases except Dujail were examined and the Kurds were not happy with this |
I am wary of Transcorps shares because of its political links. If u could not invest during the private offer ,it is probably not safe to invest now unless u only intend to hold it for a few months |
Anytime one points out the deafening silence that accompanied Saddam's massacres of Iraqis in the 90s and 80s,one is met with the nauseating reply "the US did nothing as well",as if that logically justifys why the rest of humanity was not bothered by these massacres but is strangely bothered by the hanging of the man largely responsible for the massacres |
@slashcuff There is one little problem with your analysis,Iraqis are not Christians and have no qualms with the death penalty There is another dimension that people do not look at,everyday around the world the -US,Nigeria,Iraq included-people are regularly executed for a variety of crimes In Nigeria people are executed for armed robbery whether or not they actually killed anyone yet no one says a word about it-is it because its not televised? if we are not concerned about the execution of armed robbers how come we are so passionate about the execution of a mass murderer? |
@phoenixman My advice to u is go to Edgware Rd,there are some shops run by Iraqis Go there and tell them that Saddam was only defending them and that all the reports about their relatives being massacred is a Western media distortion and that he was just doing it for the good of thier country U said u fought with some of them, haba do u love their country more than them There was a time that there was a report of Iraqis engaged in a fight with other muslims in Britain over what is going on in Iraq .It seems that some people love Iraq more than Iraqis and insist on telling them that Saddam was good for them whether they like it or not |
@AdBlues Maybe that is why he has won 11 league titles,3 trophies in Europe, 8 Scottish and FA Cups He is the most succesful manager in the British game |
@phoenixman So when he gassed the entire population of Halabja in 1988 he was defending his country?5,000 civilians When he wiped out all the members of a single tribe(Barzani tribe),that was protecting the country as well? i wonder if u will be saying the same thing if the Govt wipes out the community you are from Have u ever met Iraqis in your life? I wish I can take u to Edgware Rd in London so u can repeat what u just posted in front of Iraqis, they will lynch before u can say Saddam |
WesleyanA:Yes ma I will try and keep my mouth shut NB:Did u see the thread on latest tampons from Pfizer?U should go there cos that is where u belong |
@yicob Try Sista, some people say she is crazy but I disagree |
@alabiyemmy Actuallly the last known poll taken in Iraq shows that most Iraqis think the removal of Saddam was worth it do u genuinely believe that most Iraqis-80 percent of whom are Kurds and Shias-did not want Saddam hung? Seriously, have u heard of the Anfal campaign or Halabja? |
WesleyanA:U see this is what happens when girls who belong on threads discussing menstruation start discussing politics. Bush family and Saddam used to do oil deals? Bush killed more "iraqians"than Saddam? Who cares if all the Shia and Kurdish parties approve of hanging Saddam? Who cares if tens of thousands of iraqis actually helped to carry out the invasion? Who cares that most Iraqi Army Divisions did not show up to defend Iraq during the invasion? Who cares what Iraqis think anyway? All that matters is our opinion,we may not have lived under Saddam but we reserve the right to lecture anyone including Iraqis as to how to treat Saddam, afterall we followed the whole thing on CNN |
Yeah, my enemies can go to hell |
@alabiyemmy let us stop beating around the bush(no pun intended),if u geniunely think that most Iraqis did not want Saddam removed from power then u have no knowledge of Iraq.Presumably u think that the Shias and Kurds(80 percent of the populace) wanted him to stay on Most iraqis wanted him deposed and dead-witness the hundreds applying to be his hangmen- Do u think those celebrating his death were put up by Americans? Like I said earlier, the difference btw the Iraqi attitude and the American was that had it been left to the Iraqis alone Saddam would have been dead as soon as he was caught . |
@Jaybaby jaybaby:Maybe they should but Iraqis are muslims, they have a different cultural perspective from us. Most importantly,we have no idea what they went through |
Mourinho no longer sounds as cocky as he used to sound before He even sounds humbled |
Gunners rule in the field of dissapointments I saw some Gunners fans checking into a mental hospital |
To blame the Americans for Saddam's execution beggars belief. Would Saddam had stayed alive if America had no influence whatsoever in Iraq? The answer is no As far as the impact of the hanging on peace in Iraq, its a Catch 22 situation Think of it,if Saddam was not hanged many Shias would react violently. They would have been outraged i am against the death penalty, but the Iraqis have a different culture in which the death penalty is legitimate We can hyperventillate all we want, but the last time I checked none of us on this forum was a victim of Saddam. we want to lecture the Iraqis on how to treat a man who perpetrated so much violence on them, when Saddam was killing people ,none of us was saying anything.Who can remember Anfal campaign making headline news? |
baby boy:Bush carried out the execution? Is anyone suggesting that if it was up to the Iraqis, Saddam would stay alive. The only impact of the Americans was delaying the time it took to take Saddam's life, the Iraqis alone would have executed him as soon as he was captured |
Interesting analysis on Iran's declining revenues-http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/ap/fn/4425789.html The country is face serious problems with its domestic petroleum industry, its only viable resource |
Need not provoke u,that hopeless bunch of footballers in your team have already done that |
u can see the moments preceding the hanging here-http:// www.liveleak.com/view?i=38e1076b19 Its funny,Saddam was ruthless on the Iraqi people yet what some people can only see is how to criticse the US Had it been up to the Iraqis,Saddam would have been executed as soon as he was captured Spare a thought for the victims of Saddam |
I seem to remember someone calling me an idiot |
tosinadeda:Not as stupid as u Arsenal lot feel now, with all your bluster about thumping Sheffield |
