How can people say that the elections in Palestine were free and fair when 2 of the main parties are armed groups.This from the same people who deny the legitimacy of the Iraqi elections.

Let us not forget,all that has happened is that certain Govts have refused to deal with the Palestinian Govt especially in terms of trade and aid.Surely each nation on the planet in exercise of its sovereignty can decide who to trade with and who spend their taxpayers money on.The United States reserves the right to refuse to spend their money,I repeat their money,on Palestinians who have nothing but hostility towards them

It is not common sense. It is economic sense. If those guys are not abroad, less people will be exposed to American ways of life and less people will desire American produce with the resutant implication being that the already shrinking American market will shrink further.

It is also not just about the imbalance(deficit) in trade but what it generates for the economy. It is not what it imports but what flows into the US economy in total, including skilled immigrants like you and I.

An influx of professionals does not necessarily become beneficial because what's likely to happen is a situation in which you have under-employed skill sets. Talk to any proper economist.

There is no proven corelation between the prescence of US troops in a particular country and the expansion ,in that country ,of sales of US products in the country .Some of the biggest export oriented economies such as China and Germany,Japan,South korea,Taiwan e.t.c have little or no troops in foreign countries.

There is nothing like a shrinking US market unless u mean that US exports are growing slower than exports but that is mainly because the US has fewer trade restrictions than most countries in the world.In other words it is easier to import into the US than for the US to export to other countries.Remeber that the US economy has grown from a GDP of 1 trilion dollars in 1979 to 11.4 trillion dollars at present and rising.

Don't forget that there has been a massive drawdown of US troops prescence in foreign countries since the end of the cold war that helped foster the 90s booom because of the cost saving .Has US economic influence softened since then ?No.

An influx of proffesionals is beneficial for the US economy ,since like any developed economy,its greatest resource is human resource unlike commodity dependent economies in Africa such as Nigeria.For the US human resource is to it what oill is to Nigeria.It is stated US policy to attract professionals,hence the Green Card policy.

The US economy will suffer if all the US military personnel were to return home. Have you even thought about the economic effects of such? The US government will pay more and the treasury will be more depleted for it. The soldiers based abroad also help sell US interests hence expanding the economy.

The US military presence has not deterred N. Korea testing it's nukes. Anyway, why should it not? It wants to free itself from American bullying

The dollars spent abroad is investment. It helps to grow the American market outside it's shores. That's why franchises like McD's etx are world reknowned. They need to send their own abroad to stimulate growth of their own products and ways of life.

Outsourcing will still be the order of the day. Outsourcing is not a result of the non-availability of manpower but a cost/benefit strategy. If they don't outsource, it wont be long till those companies will be crawling and going bakcrupt.

You are flat wrong to suggest that a withdrawal of US troops from abroad is bad for the US economy.It cost more to maintain troops abroad than at home.It is just pure common sense.

US troops prescence abroad is not needed to market US interests.Most developed countries have greater exports per capita  than the US but they don't have much troops abroad,Germany and Japan being prime examples.Don't forget that the US has a massive trade deficit with the rest of the world ,which means that it imports far more than it exports-600 billion dollar deficit-so exports are not integral to the growth of its economy

You suggest that a return of the engineers and proffessionals will be bad for the US economy.Since when did an influx of skillled professionals become bad for an economy.The US has one of the lowest unemployement rates in the developed world and indeed the world and any influx of skilled professionals will be beneficial for the economy

The last time I checked 77 percent of Iraqis thought the invasion was worth with it despite the troubles on the Brooking instituition website in September 2006.I tried to link it but it i couldn't

How possible is that most Iraqis do not feel free to express their opinions to polling officials ,who by the way are fellow Iraqis ,but feel free to celebrate at the scene of an atttack on American troops.Suppose Nigerian troops are killed in an attack in the Niger-delta,can Niger-Deltans go to the scene and celebrate ?You will be crazy to do that wouldn't you?But nothing stops us from expressing our opinion to the presss about our disatisfaction with our govt. Do u see Chechens celebrating when Russian troops die? Do u know why?because they cannot dare

If the point u are trying to make is that Iraqis feel afraid to express their opinion about the Americans u probably don't know much about the place.Everyday in the UK,the TV is filled with pics of Iraqis expresssiing their opnion about Americans which by the way they could not do earlier with their previous govt.The much missed Saddam,who is so misssed that his people burst out in celebration when he was captured and when he was sentenced to death

U said that it is more important that Baghdad has electricity than the provinces.U forget that Iraq's revenue-90 percent is derived from oil.Where is the oil?Every single barrel of it comes from the provinces where most people live.Who deserves more electricity,the place where the greatest number of people live and the source of alll the countreis wealth.IT is like saying that Abuja deserves more spending than the Niger-Delta .

Iraqis more than anyone did everything possible to facilitate the US invasion of their country.The Iraqi National Congress ,SCIRI,the 2 kurdish patrties all contributed men and resources to the invasion.Some of them went to the extent of concoting elaborate stories of WMD to get the Americans to invade.

I am not saying that Iraqis like the continued prescence of American troops , All am saying that they welcomeed the intial overthrow of Saddam and see the continued prescence of US tRoops as a neccesary evil to stop full scale civil war from erupting

I listened to the album way b4 most people did and I actually bought the CD.The productions borrow a lot from Dr Dre's style and sometimes Game raps and sounds like Dre-check out California vacation.Anybody who has listened to the album knows that.

The problem with most people is that they do not listen to the lyrics of rap songs.If it has a good beat and chorus,that is enough so that lyricists like Nas and Banks don't get the credit they deserve whereas people like Jay-z who can't rap get a lot of kudos for nothing.Banks is to me the best lyricist in the game,his punchlines are exceptional.You should to the BANKS album-The Big Withdraw.The one that leaked on the net last year .

How logical is it to say that opinion polls of Iraqis are less reliable than pics of Iraqis celebrating American deaths even when some of those polls were conducted by anti-war groups?

Iraq does not have any less electricity or water supply than before the war.It is true that is the case with Baghdad and Sunni areas but that is not true of the South and the north were most people live.Besides where was the outcry when Saddam was diverting resources to Sunni areas.?It shows how influential Sunni Arabs are on world opinion.

The fact of the matter is that 85 precent of all violence in Iraq occurs in the 4 Sunni provinces which include BAGHDAD where all most all journalists are based.The remaining 14 provinces are relatively quiet.

You asked who wants democracy.Apparently most Iraqis do.Most of them braved suicide bombers to go and vote in unprecendented numbers risking their lives in the process.Who are you to tell them that they do need democracy

Everytime there is a sudden removal of a despotic system,there is bloodshed in the following years.Remember South Africa in the early 90s.Remember all the bloodshed and the claims that the it showed that the apartheid regime no matter how bad was not really bad compared to the new era.

What we are seeing in Iraq is not new.It happened in Northern Iraq when with American help they freed themselves from the Saddam regime in 1991.For 5 years they were plunged into a fullscale civil war,but today Kurdish Iraq is a more prosperous area than Nigeria and is one of the fastest growing economies in the world.

You asked me whether i see how Iraqis celebrate American deaths,more importantly perhaps u did not see how they celebrated Saddam's death sentence.Did u sense from their celebration a regret that Sadddam should have remained in power?

There is something that is forgotten in this debate,most people who die in Iraq die at the hands of fellow Iraqis.Most of the bloodshed is being perpetrated by Iraqis against each other in a sectarian conflict.

For many years Iraq was a quasi-apartheid nation where the Sunni minority ran things to the exclusion of the majority Shia and Kurdish populations,now Iraq is reaping the fruits of this arrangement.

Every single poll done of Iraqis show that say that the invasion was worth it.ithink we should leave it at that.Nobody said anything when Shias and Kurds where being masssacred in the 80s and 90s,now everybody is saying things should have been left the way it was.

If Kurds were as influential on world opinion as Arabs,most people will be welcoming the removal of Sad

You have to be gullibe to believe  outright what the Palestinians had to say about a private conversation with President Bush.Strangely there is no record of President Bush ever telling anyone,not even members of his local church,that God commanded him to invade nations.Off alll the people he had to tell,it was a group of Palestinian muslims.

The point is not that people will automatically stop dying when American troops come into their country.The point is that the world will not be a better place if American troops pull out from everywhere.The places I mentioned will not be  better places if American troops were to pull out.Why do you think that in Iraq,South Korea and Japan,their respective govts all want American troops to stay.Do u have a better grasp of these countries security interests than their policy makers.

The fact of the matter is that their is knee jerk anti-Americanism which is popular in the modern world.A tendency to see everything America does in a bad light,especially the Bush adminstration.People who think that China will be a better superpower have not heard of Tibet,Uighur muslims,the Falun Gong.In China you can not worship God freely,no democracy,freedom of speech or anything like the various liberties that Nigerians aspire for.   

P.S-America invaded Iraq for oil-A regular accusation I have heard.Can anyone give me a knowledgeable and plausible explanation of how American oil interests are furthered by the invasion.

I will prefer to die first. That way I won't have to deal with the trauma of losing my wife .Let her deal with it

If America withdrew all of its forces from abroad it will be disastrous for the world.

In South East Asia,Japan and South Korea will go nuclear as the only thing keeping them from doing so is the security guarantees that they have from the United States.So also will Taiwan.

In Afghanistan,the Taleban will take over and turn the country into a terrorist sanctuary where gruops like Al-Qaeda will have the freedom to operate.

In Iraq,the Govt of Noura Al-Maliki will collapse and the country will descend faster into genoicidal ethnic conflict resembling Burundi and Rwanda in the mid 90s

In Kosovo and Bosnia,the fragile peace btw the various ethnic groups will severely tested

In summary,any withdrawal of US forces around the world will precipitate disaster on a scale never seen before.Even a movement in the US towards isolationism will be detrimental to world peace

America as the sole superpower has a unique role in international affairs.It provides 20 percent of UN funding,80 percent of world humanitarian food aid and 22 percent of the Global economy.

I prefer having the United States as the sole superpower than any other country.Would you rather have China?

I have no problem with standing up for your race,but doing so must not mean knocking down other races.You can make a solid case for the interests of the African race without descending to the kind of attitude which we seek to condemn.

Our prostestations will lose its value if it is tinged with prejudice.This is where I take issues with Sista,she thinks standing up for Blacks must involve diatribes against the White Race
