This doesn't help Oscar Pistorius' case in the eyes of the media.
Come to think about it, Pistorius is now Notorious, so can we say Pantsil is just "Pant-silly"?
Nairaland GeneralRe: Nigerian Highways To Get Surveillance Cameras by 76Naira(m): 12:18am On Feb 18, 2013
A case of misplaced priorities and another avenue to loot from the masses.
Please fix all potholes first, then create alternative roads and make sure the driver's license issuance and vehicle inspection system is well regulated.
After those extremely important steps, you fix as many cameras as you deem fit.

We hardly learn as a nation!

Poor medical systems and poor living environments.
How often do Nigerians consult a doctor? How many Nigerians have a good medical record diligently updated by their doctors? How many Nigerians know their family medical history? Now, how about the drugs and food we consume, the environments we live in with all the generator fumes, car pollutions, noise pollutions and pure filth?

We tend to associate good quality life with money and fame while pointing to spiritual sources for the opposite.
It's high time we asked ourselves why "died after a brief illness" seems to reside in Nigeria.

PoliticsRe: PHCN To Import Prepaid Meters by 76Naira(m):
This is a welcome move as I can say this report is very true!
I live in Lekki and had to "fight" the NEPA team in that axis to deliver my prepaid meter. They are reluctant to do so since not having it in your place makes them rich.
I actually use electricity with good care and control but my meter went bad and a drama ensued.
I called NEPA immediately and explained what happened only for the bunch of clowns to come to my house to state silly fixed rates based on the profile of my estate & how I needed to pay 125k for a meter. I refused, paid the official rate to the bank and pulled out my monthly bills for 4 months and let them know I would not pay above the average until I get my meter.
After 1 year of calling them every month, they threatened to double my rates and I went to one of their managers and showed him contacts on my phone which I had received to help tidy up the case. I told them to get my meter or receive a call from their head office in Abuja. Two days later, I had my meter. I have still not used above my 12 to 14k per month even when they wanted to pocket 25k per month from me.

There was one Hausa marketing manager (at Agungi office) amongst them who helped me and obviously did not belong to their dirty league. I really praise his much needed example in our decaying ministries.

Not all of us wish to defraud the system; some of us just want to pay our bills & live in peace but PHCN is just frustrating!!! You don't want to find out how dirty and desperately dubious some of their staff can be.
PoliticsRe: Mark : Nigeria Has Less Friends In Africa by 76Naira(m): 6:17pm On Feb 13, 2013
Mark got it wrong!
The hatred is from Nigerians towards their insincere and fraudulent leaders; a group he needs to show he does not belong to.
Too many Nigerians are desperate partly because they have been perennially deprived.

Our leaders keep spending millions abroad for medical treatments while millions die at home for lack of same.

Mark isn't the only well travelled Nigerian and yes we know when and where we are disliked but its not over football and not right now!

Sorry about this bad experience. I hope the girl can be managed out of this situation.
They need to look at a couple of other things including the girl's age, exposure to male classmates, neighbors and housemates even her innocence/awareness switch.
It's a complex case but a female teacher doing this would not be my first suspicion. Possible, yes, but implausible.

Car TalkRe: Drivers Under-25 From Driving Taxis & Trucks by 76Naira(m): 4:34pm On Jan 31, 2013
Above 18, driving is not regulated by age.
Its high time Nigeria ensured a dependable license issuance process, adequate record keeping for driving history, good roads, good car regulations and an effective judicial system to penalize offenders.
In a country where many still see accidents as the work of the devil, how can we move forward?
I have driven more than 14 types of cars in 4 countries since 1993 when I was 17. I had to go through a year of training and qualification from my mom before I got my full license. My mom who obviously had a more rigorous system that FRSC set up a point based system in which I built up points and each mistake resets you a few points. She did this until I could make 3 full trips of about 100km each without losing a point. She would task you on predicting driver behavior, analyzing your safety room, checking your car in detail before trips and planning your journey to ensure you can keep checking your car & taking breaks. We traded a lot in most of the southern, eastern & western states of Nigeria and we never took drivers because most are not properly trained. My mom drove until my sibling could drive and finally me.

How many Nigerian homes care these days? Now, this stupid policy.

TravelRe: Gombe State Roads And Other Structures (pictures) by 76Naira(m): 12:43pm On Jan 30, 2013
Good work so far. However, most of the roads lack an edge barrier. This means drivers are not protected from the gutters especially at intersections.
Nigerian projects hardly show complete regard for safety.

PoliticsRe: Total Move Staff Out Of Abuja by 76Naira(m): 1:05pm On Jan 27, 2013
flexyonline: Fallacy of hasty generalization! Of all you wrote, the only true thing is that there is a gas condensate field offshore Lagos called Aje. But no, Chevron is no longer in the project because it is uneconomic for them and they've relinquished their stake.. There is no known oil discovery anywhere else in Lagos either onshore or offshore. The jubilee and Tweneboa fields are in Ghana! Those are the new fields in Ghana that make them an oil producing country today. All those Takwa bay, badagry creek you are talking about, maybe you will be the first to go and drill there because no one else has. Not even 2D seismic data has been acquired. I know the source of what you wrote, it's a newspaper publication from last month. That journalist is as ignorant as you are. I wonder who his editor is? Might be that the editor is even more ignorant. I'll recommend Africa Oil and Gas Report (www.africaoilandgasreport.com) for those of you who want technically sound oil industry reporting. The publisher is a consummate experienced professional who is also a journalist. Not those ones who interchangeably use oil field and oil well and don't even know the difference.
Thanks brother!
I was taken aback when I read Jubilee being listed as a Lagos asset. I even worked on data from that field. Ha! Nigerians!
