Whynotthetruth:
There are better ways to defend the Naira than buhari is doing now...which is a repeat of mess he did in 1984/85...

1)There's no finance minister/economic team to articulate fiscal policy to complement monetary policy...

2)He's not applying 2015 expenditure hence crippling some sectors but he's using revenue from 2015...

3)His policy is already killing SME's who drive our economy... aside foreign investments or investors from JP Morgan and co...

4)China just relegated us to the background... Do you understand the cost implication to Nigeria?

5)Buhari is doing nothing and seems overwhelmed with the job...His analogue brain can't solve digital problem... He could not back then in his prime...how about now?

6)Allow naira to find its level in money market though you guide it through the path... but don't physically control it as it is done now...because the negative effect seems more than positive effect...
Uncle Tom you are entitle to your grudges with GMB, but as long as naira does not go below 240, we are still on the right track.

The failure of the Jonathan government to exploit the roof shattering oil prices over the years they were in power and the irrational depletion of our foreign reserves are critical elements of our present economic woes. Your non-acknowledgment of these twin factors dents the objectivity and balance of your piece, which informed my initial pedestrian stance on this thread.

You can drop your points without blackmailing me...

Back to topic; I did no comparison...I simply responded to some lies of APC against PDP and also showed how their assertion that what we are experiencing now is because of Jonathan/PDP is highly erroneous and false ...

PDP is a platform accommodating different personalities... but I think the worst of PDP are already out and they are members of APC or consultants to APC ...PDP as it is today, is far better than APC with regard to quality of individuals and sincere leadership...
Another liar exposed.

TRUTHTOPOWER:
Senator McCain Campaign came crashing in 2008 when he declared that the fundamentals of the American economy was strong. Wall Street collapsed before he had time to reflect on his press statement. When you hear the slogan 'it is the economy, stu.pid' as used by Clinton, it talks about soccer mums and Joe the plumber, how their families can get mortgage, health insurance, and purchasing power.

There must be connection between your statistics and the experience in the labour force (soccer mums and Joe the plumber)

Now hear this. NBS said 54% of Nigerian Youths were unemployed. (2012) According to the stats, it translates to 30 million. So the challenge before NOI and PDP was not rebasing GDP or bringing FDI. those are measures not results in policy articulation. the challenge was drastic reduction in employment rate. These implies doing something about inflation and lending rate for the sake of the challenge not as goals or ends of economic planning. Pls read Soludo on missing trillions. ignore the stealing aspect if you are not comfortable with that just concentrate on the relationship between measures and effect
vanguardngr.com/2015/02/ngozi-okonjo-iweala-missing-trillions-1-charles-soludo/
NOI et al promised 2 million jobs per year in order to address the deficit of 30 million. by 2019, 22 million would still be unemployed. When you add new entrants of 2million per year to it. The proposal of NOI did nothing!

So what is the point of YouWin SureP, FDI. Admittedly they benifited the individuals who got slices of the national cake just as political handouts benefit party footsoldiers.

My Faith: Discipline and fear of moral reproach! That is the starting point. GEJ govt by his own admission saw nothing wrong in Fiscal rascality. he abeted felony, to wit, embezzlement and extortion, hellooooo! others are guilty is not a defence!

The task before us is having kicked out indiscipline what can we do? That is in addition to the original plan of the new administration.

However if you believed your time is better served by romancing the corpse of a dead administration, it is your choice.

By the way, where do you think NOI is and what do you think she is doing? she is writing a book to tell the world that she is not responsible for the the documented crimes you are here claiming are nonexistent. Don't ask me how I know.
Odikwa serious.

In two years time, when the effects of JP Morgan's delisting and other economic mistakes made by this President come to bear on us, we will see who will come on this platform to defend the APC. The reason why we had constructive debates during the dispensation of GEJ, is because we had food on our table, we had jobs which we got through lobbying and influence, we had our roads been built, we had development going on right in front of our very eyes. But imagine, a situation when food prices skyrocket, when unemployment is at a peak, when infrastructural development is at a standstill, when mortality rate increases, when power supply surprisingly drops to an all time low, when businesses start to collapse, when misery, crime and poverty becomes the order of the day. When all this comes to bear on us, we will see who will beat his chest and call himself an APC supporter. I would advise, when this inevitability comes to pass, for massive manhunts for all APC supporters on this platform, so that they don't jump on the PDP train. If we get rid of them, they won't come up sometime in the future, to mislead us.

Why are Nigerians so violent?

Why isn't there an enforcement of the laws againt physical assault not committed in self-defense? Its 2015, Nigerians need to stop living like animals.

P.S: Why are obvious illiterates and clearly mentally ill individuals allowed anywhere within the capacities of law enforcement?
Those who make peaceful change impossible makes violent change inevitable.
All these senseless government agencies who are constituting themselves into public nuisance will eventually be thought how to do a proper job by the irate mob, kudos to the no nonsense mob at Ikeja.

This country has passed the stage of imperialist and exploitation arguments. Labour and capital are extremely cheap today, Nigeria will not be attracting neither. Maybe we should ask why? JPM provided outside investors a window into the Nigeria financial market, a mark of credibility, an emblem of trust. Fund managers look to it as barometer for sizing up a country. Nobody is exploiting us but ourselves. Nigeria is a loser for this move today, no going around it. Our loss is Ethiopia, South Africa and Kenya's gain.
@Bolded, this is a big lie, Nigeria is Africa's largest investors haven.

AAinEqGuinea:
My understanding is that the fear of Biafra entails Igbos having businesses in Nigeria, Nigerians having businesses in Biafraland. If Biafra were to materialize, all entrepreneurial efforts from each side would come crashing down, civil unrest ensues, and many will lose friends. It doesn't have to play out this way. Why can't a secession happen while leaving intact people's professional and personal livelihoods? It's almost as if Nigeria has to relive the horrors of 1967-1970 all over again and this scares people to support Biafra. This is why GEJ's peaceful handoff to GMB made international news because they expected Nigerians to react like 21st century animals. However, if you were to bring up the issue of Biafra shocked shocked

Biafrans will be the same people, on the same land, with same ethnic neighbors, where is the problem in this?

Then there's the issue of Nigeria's endemic instability. People like me in the international community want to have faith in Nigeria for Nigerians. But should we honestly blame anyone for wanting to disembark from what they perceived for years to be a sinking ship?

Why must the UN decide if a populace should be forced to live within some colonial mesh? I'm implying that Africans or Nigerians should not need the UN to tell them how to govern themselves. I think Nigerians have proven to be smart enough to handle these matters their way, and Nnamdi's playing chess.

With the formation of APC in 2013 came rampant cases of gas pipeline vandalism, which reached it's peak as the 2015 elections approached.

https://www.nairaland.com/1579141/poor-power-supply-lagos-area
https://www.nairaland.com/1959085/power-generation-drops-1000mw-due

Here is what the former minister of power had to say about the menace of gas pipeline vandalism:

" Every two weeks, the gas pipelines are blown up. It takes two weeks to fix them only for them to be blown up again within 24 to 48 hours of fixing"

Immediately APC won the elections, gas pipeline vandalism stopped abruptly.

While gas pipeline vandalism has stopped, the usual crude oil pipeline vandalism has continued. It is well known fact that will vandals may derive immediate financial benefit from vandalism of crude oil pipeline, there is no such benefit when it comes to gas pipeline. Why then were those criminals hell bent on sabotaging our gas pipelines and the power sector?

From this history alone, it is obvious that APC was responsible for all the cases of gas pipeline vandalism we had in the last 2 years.
From the figment of your imagination or for real? even the Bible said it that we shall know the truth and it shall set us free.
