Shifting investment focus favours Nigeria’s oil-rich southern region Away from Lagos, real estate investment focus is gradually shifting to the oil-rich southern part of Nigeria where investors say they see untapped opportunities with high investment yield. Conventional real estate investors and new market players are in places like Port Harcourt, Delta, and Owerri which have emerged new investment destinations for both residential and commercial developments. A close look at the axis in recent time reveals intents by developers such as Taf Nigeria Homes Limited, developers of Golf Estate, GTRich Investment, promoters of Lekki Gardens among others to offer the Garden City of Port Harcourt uptown apartments at their respective estates. At the commercial segment, Resilient Africa, a property development and investment company is set to deliver retail malls in Delta, Owerri and Asaba, all aimed at offering the growing middle class new shopping experience. Simiarly, Anambra State government and African Capital Alliance will, by end of 2015, deliver the 15,000 square metre Onitsha Mall which is still under construction. http://businessdayonline.com/2014/09/shifting-investment-focus-favours-nigerias-oil-rich-southern-region/ |
asha80: how do you know about their shares?http://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20140925005275/en/Shares-ENTRADE-Energiesysteme-AG-oversubscribed |
asha80: abia state(aba and environs) need this type of investment. Not just Aba but the entire Nigeria. The beauty of it is that State Government will not pay the investors but they make profits from managing waste and converting same to energy. If the 1st phase in Owerri succeeds, Entrade will experience a revolutionary boom across Nigeria. Their shares in Germany is sold out. |
And Imo State setting the pace as Entrade (German waste to energy firm) moves to Imo ENTRADE Energiesysteme AG has received a major order for the establishment of a state-wide energy and waste management system from Imo State, a statement said on Monday. Under the agreement, which has been concluded with Governor Rochas Okorocha, ENTRADE will initially set up 200 energy and recycling stations in the state capital, Owerri. This part of the planned project is to be completed by the end of 2015, followed by the optional construction of up to 2,300 further regional supply centres throughout the entire state. ENTRADE will operate these centres itself, both processing waste and then selling the electricity which is generated. The aim is to build up a comprehensive power-supply network, based on the micro biomass generators developed by ENTRADE with an individual electrical output of 20 kW. These are to be fuelled mainly with bamboo pellets. “This fast-growing raw material could for the most part solve our current power-supply problems”, Prof. Okee Okoro from the state’s Ministry of Energy and the Environment said. “This pioneering project is therefore highly significant not only for our federal state but for the entire country of Nigeria.” http://businessdayonline.com/2014/08/imo-state-agrees-energy-waste-contract-with-germany-firm/ |

Unemadu: Hehe Abagworo u just dey shift goal postNot so brother. Just recalled that Amaechi did it up to AGIP flyover and the rest remained open. Here are the major highways in PHC. 1) Aba road 2) Ikwerre road 3) Azikiwe road 4) Station road 5) Stadium road 6) Elekahia road 7) Airforce-Eliozu road Okporo road9) Old Aba road 10) Oginigba road 11) Olu Obasanjo road 12) Woji/Elelenwo road (under construction) 13) Ada George road 14) Aggrey road 15) Abuloma road 16) Trans-Amadi (under construction) Maybe I skipped some that I might recall later. |
spyder880: Bros, I also live in Port Harcout oI think stretch of Ikwerre/Owerri road from Mile3 to Rukpokwu is the lone exception. Mile 1 to 3 has been covered with underground drainage but from AGIP to Rukpokwu is open. |
OreMI22: Alert!!!: Don't be deceived. This is not Abagworo, he is an imposter!I am Abagworo. I use this any time I get a ban and its my only alternate moniker. |
Unemadu: You got it wrong! Im not creating any false impresionIf you are talking about major roads then I can tell you that 100% of major roads in Port-Harcourt have closed underground drainage. Most States in Nigeria are constructing their new major roads with closed drainages but they don't do so in the inner streets. Only Rivers is doing it in inner streets. 90% of Port-Harcourt has open drainage BTW. Same with others. |
Unemadu: oYou know I don't like open drainage but you tried to give a wrong impression that all the roads constructed in Uyo, Calabar and Asaba have closed drainages. The only Governor that constructed 100% closed drainages even in slums is Amaechi. The rest just did it along major roads and some like Akpabio and Orji constructed without drainages at all in some instances. |
OkijaAmaka: YEA, if we will get the accurate census of Igbo cities and towns, we will first of all discard anything from hatefilled and tribalistic Nigeraia Government.Land mass is actually Aba today. Used to be Enugu in the past though. Onitsha has the highest population. Used to be Enugu in the past. Owerri used to be of same size and population with Umuahia but is today larger and more populous. However Umuahia urban LGA is more populous than Owerri municipal but not Owerri urban. |
Unemadu: Enugu got it wrong with this open drains nonsense. I mean i can forgive the old constructions but not the new ones. Open drains are so old school. This is one edge Asaba, Calabar, Uyo has over EnuguBeyond the gimmicks all those places you mentioned are 90% open drainages except Calabar North. If you visit Calabar South, your views will change. In Nigeria, critics see only the good they want to see and talk about the bad. |
spyder880: Presidential road roundabout , to Obiagu Enugu. This part of Enugu looks like Ibadan. I guess its the oldest part of town. |
Radoillo: The Isu factor is (to me) one of the biggest enigmas in Igbo history.Afigbo is not completely right. To understand the meaning of Isoma, it is best to ask people from neighbouring area its meaning. To the best of my knowledge from Ohaji and Uratta definition, Isoma were a group of very highly populated people that lacked arable land. They were moving from their original enclave to other people's area to either farm or work in farms to survive. If you look at this definition it suits the characteristics of some area of Igboland till this day. Some parts of Igboland have people that believe in staying in their village while others believe in adventure as they lack arable land and there is high level of competition in their enclave. |
You can read chapter 10 of this book and know a bit more about old Igboland as recorded by "Baikie" who happens to be the origin of the use of "Bekee" by Igbo in reference to White men. http://www.archive.org/stream/narrativeofexplo00baik/narrativeofexplo00baik_djvu.txt |
Radoillo: Is Mbaise reckoned as part of Isuama/ Isoma?Mbaise is not Isuama but some parts of Mbaise is. Mbaise is not a homogeneous entity. It is more or less a recent amalgam and coinage with a combination of people that were originally Uratta, Isu and Ohuhu or Ezinihite. Isuama starts North and West of Owerri. |
Ihuomadinihu: All views or perspectives are welcome. The study of the ISUS could probably reveal the true origin/identity of Igbos.Even as the SUG elections of Nekede Poly, the Isu politics is there. Look at what was written by a student. We want to retrieve our indigenous right here in FEDPONEK! Enough is enough, hw can we be in water and foam enter our eyes! Pls my fellow owerri! Imo state students here in FEDPONEK we must stop dis mess. Nw b4 it get out of hand! For d next comin SUG election we can't allow (isoma) asin any person dat is nt 4m owerri or imo state 2 rule us again! We can't be in our house and be a servant! Here is d right man who wil maintain peace and retrieve d lost pride and dignity back for owerri and imo state students knw other person expect

Going physical against a judge in the court of law is rather barbaric and puts the judiciary to ridicule. If the judiciary is rendered powerless, what then is the hope of the common man like me? I'm not from Ekiti and know nothing about the underlying issues but I feel the court premises deserves some respect and the safety of the Judges is important if we don't want to descend to anarchy. |
Bobbystanley: Anambra state has the worst Building constructing Engineers on planet earth. Its high time the cement and building materials industry be scrutinised. Most of those buildings at Upper Iweka were constructed in the 70s and 80s and none has collapsed 40 years later and it was done by less experienced workers and less access to modern technology. Why has building collapse suddenly become a household thing in the past 5 years? I think Dangote and other cement manufacturers need to be probed. |
Faun: Imo State is far better and more developed than the pictures of the slums on this failure of a thread.Iburu nwafor biko obughi ihe Umuigbo choro. Udo ka nma. |
brownlords: Fayose beat up a Judge, and APC killed someone,Fayose's thugs were seen beating the judge but nobody knows the killers of the NURTW. He might be involved in the murder too as the actions in court depict evidence of potential violence. |
millionaireman: Charty development? For example, govts in those states do not build today's urban roads with open gutters, with the hope that in the near future, another govt must damage the open gutters in order to build the modern and appropriate closed drainage gutters.Absolute lies. Only major roads have covered drainage like Rochas did for Orlu and Wetheral roads. Only Amaechi has gone as far as doing covered drainages for some slums like Diobu and Orazi/Eligbam. In a bid to discredit Rochas, lies fly here and there. Only the truth shall set you free. |
Time for Ndigbo to now know who is the enemy within. Chino has been going about other Igbo States threads posting bad federal roads and anything negative he can lay his hands on. On this thread no Igbo has come to do same but nothing convincing has been posted here as outstanding in any manner. So Chino prove your noise. |
mikeansy: 1 cad image and so many views of the same schoolJust relax and humbly accept the truth. You've been defeated convincingly. Luckily enough each of those schools have distinct vegetation. Some have flat roof while others have triangular roof. One has a tree in front ahile another has a mast in the background. Eat the humble pie N!gga.

I just got banned. |
kel4soft: Rivers State Deputy Governor on his etibor. Do you think, this was made abroad?OMG! Perfect sew there. |
Konquest: @ Abagworohttp://www.howwemadeitinafrica.com/consumer-potential-three-nigerian-city-clusters-to-compete-with-lagos/41840/ My source is not wikipedia and its not about GDP but money in circulation compared with population. |
Odenigbo AKA Oneeast AKA Chino your case is pathetic.I've seen you in Imo, Abia and Enugu threads critcizing without other Igbos taking it personal. We must be real here, Owerri is way more developed than all your State. You can go and die for all I care. Obiano looks set to liberate your State from the hands of Obi and Umeh. At least the signs are there. My prayer is that in the future one can visit Awka for a cool weekend the way we do visit Owerri, Calabar and Enugu. |
Now what is the condition of the environment of the shoemakers? They don't look rich to me despite this staggering turn over.
|
arresa: It is impossible, no country on the surface of the earth moves million shoes a day.I now understand your point. You are talking about export outside the shores of Nigeria and not their daily sales or output which the topic used "export" to represent. Here are some common Aba shoes people erroneously buy as foreign.

Now that they have surrendered, I expect an open trial on a neutral court like that of Henry Okah where they will tell the world the truth about boko haram. |
