Just reading your uninformed write-up. Who told you MMM is a company? it is a movement against the unfair financial system of the world. All we do is to donate money to one another and get rewarded for doing so. Your reasoning is as a result of your half baked education. You can not decipher between a company and a Movement propelled by an ideology. Go back to school and start from JSS 1. Chief, the last time you gave money to your friend, did you register first with CAC in Abuja? Do you now see that your ignorance has NAFDAC number?

Talking about maintaining wealth, how can you maintain what you don't have? MMM has over 2.4 million participants in Nigeria now, so stay there and continue forming fake wealthy man. When recession fever catch up with you, MMM will be waiting for you to deliver you.
Where do Nairaland get people like you from? Just read what you wrote, if you have any form of reasoning, you would realize certain people don't need MMM to make it in life. If half of the people participating in MMM have credible decent paying jobs, they would not participate. As for your theory on movement or business, answer one question: What happens when someone that received help decides not to give help? Save your sermon for people in your class and stay in your lane!

Seriously have we ran out of ideas? Let's agree that Buhari is a mistake, must we keep recycling past leaders because the present ones are incompetent? When will the madness stop? In a sane country people like GEJ, Buhari, Obasanjo will never be a senator not to talk of president, we seriously need the youths to wake up and make Nigeria great again!

This is nonsense! If this is the best defense Ivie's lawyers can up with against John then they are incompetent. All it takes is a medical test to know if the lady actually aborted a pregnancy within the past year, this will buttress John's point that his wife and him were intimate within the past 2 years. Let's now examine the other evidence, the school receipt, the chat logs, the financial statements. It is clear here that the only missing testimony is that of the man Ivie slept with, a proper investigator would get that testimony and this would make the case much more clearer.

I can bet you that his lawyer is a public defender and not a lawyer that he actually paid for. What a sorry form of defense. I'm not saying the guy is innocent but some things do not add up:

1: How many girls do you know when their pants are being pulled down would grab her phone and press the record button?

2: Where did the assault occur? Let's examine the quote,

Odukoya had on the day he attacked the lady, met her at a night out with some of his friends. He offered to give her a lift which she accepted. Odukoya then dropped off his other friends at their homes before heading back to his flat with his victim who was already drunk.
According to express.co.uk, his victim's "instincts kicked in" in the car and she turned on her phone's recording app which recorded her saying "Please, I have a boyfriend. I don't want this. I'm very drunk.”
The bold part alone tells me the girl was not actually drunk and knew exactly what she was doing, unless this quote is trying to insinuate that the guy was puling down her pants in the car?

3. Finally, we need to know the nationality of the girl involved, a regular U.K girl is just not trained to react this way. Sounds more like a Nigerian girl wey sharp pass sharp!

Their religion allows it so it's no problem as long as the groom does not maltreat one and favor the other. Most of these girls complaining already have more than one boyfriend yet they are quick to rebuke a girl that settles for what she can get instead of waiting on one imaginary prince charming, even the whites have started having mistresses that would bear a child for them on the sides, let no one deceive you!

The problem with this statistic is that it fails to differentiate between those that are actually schooling and those who used student visa as a means of permanently relocating to the U.S. For the latter, most of them will receive the shock of their lives when they receive their deportation notice. I also do not want to comment on an "Ogun state university" qualification grin
So Trump is basically now changing it from deporting 11 million to 2 to 3 million undocumented immigrants. Now, where are your facts that 2-3 million are criminals? Have you done any fact checking? The Migration Policy institute estimates it to be about 820,000 only.
You earlier demanded that all undocumented migrants should be deported. I am glad that you have taken a different stance on that in the process of our discussion.
Honestly you have a comprehension problem and now I understand where your bias comes from, you are one of those CNN watching socialist. Let me repeat my stance, all illegal immigrants are criminals. They have broken the law and should be deported but just because I believe that does not mean it will happen. Your Washington post article also mentions that the figure could be up to 1.9 million if we count legal immigrants convicted of felonies that causes them to lose their legal status. Learn to read carefully instead of jumping at every article you see! As for your shade on my qualifications, you couldn't be more ignorant if you think that an Olabisi Onabanjo University degree is what I used to rise into a management position at the biggest insurance firm in the U.S. I would love to enlighten you more but it's 8pm here and I need to read my son a bedtime story smiley smiley

Ok but have you said that can be considered sophisticated? Regurgitating Trump's campaign promises is not exactly a display of a solid thought process. How do you estimate the funding and logistics of deporting 11 million undocumented immigrants will be sourced by DHS? Do you think undocumented workers like the fact that they are paid low wages for the job they do?
You seem to be now changing your words and moving over to my side of the argument. Immigration reform is needed. Mass deportations of all undocumented immigrants is just what Trump said in the campaign trail to energize the 'poorly educated voters' grin
First of all, I voted for Trump and my academic qualifications are on the high end so I resent your statement about "poorly educated voters".Next, if you kept up with recent events, you would know that Trump's plan is to deport the illegals that have been found guilty of criminal offenses. This is in the range of 2 to 3 million, he would then deport additional people as approved per Congress so it is possible about 6 million or more illegal immigrants might get some kind of amnesty through a reform. Next, from 2009 till now Obama has deported over 3 million people so stop acting as if deportation is such a hard thing to do, America is one of the most sophisticated countries in terms of logistics so don't worry about that. Finally the fact that I agree with you on immigration reform does not mean I support your entire argument, read my premise and you'll understand why I agree with immigration reform.
Foreign Affairs › Re: 2016 US Election - Its Impact On Immigration Enforcement by abbey621(m): 12:24am On Nov 17, 2016

Again, you have to factor in the reality. I am not advocating instant citizenship for anyone who has broken the immigration law. However the fact still remains that many illegal immigrants are gainfully employed albeit with minimum wages. If you think someone lines up in the US embassy in Lagos or Abuja to come here and wash plate or work in a farm then you are deceiving yourself my guy. If any American is telling you he is ready to do that job then why is he or she not doing it already? Immigration reform is what is needed and also strictly enforced. Regular checks also need to be made with the various employers. Treating hardworking illegal as criminals is not a humane and deportation is an expensive and unnecessary approach. Are you going to jail anyone that steals a pen?
Sorry to say but your mentality is a Nigerian one and not that of a sophisticated society. Do you know that Obama has deported more illegal immigrants than the past 3 presidents combined? The only reason there are no outrage is because of the biased media. The first thing you must accept is that everyone that overstays their visa or comes to the US illegally have broken the law. Once you acknowledge that then you must ask yourself does the U.S have laws against this, if the answer is yes then the law must be enforced. Everyone has a good reason for breaking the law but that does not take away the crime, I have no doubt that there would be some kind of immigration reform but there would also be a lot of deportation. Finally there are lots of Americans willing to do the jobs you described but the greed of the business world makes business owners seek the services of illegal immigrants who are underpaid and most don't file taxes. Trust me it costs nothing to give temporary visas to odd job workers but U.S law demands that they be paid a fair wage, this is why illegal immigrants thrive in America.

Many illegal immigrants work very hard in the US. Among them there are criminals that need to be deported. Immigration reform is what is required.
It's not about working hard, if you broke the law you must face the consequence. A country is not a country if it does not have it's laws enforced and it's borders protected. My main argument against illegal immigration is simple, those that are willing to wait at the embassy and follow proper protocols are they stupid? The U.S grants more visas and green cards than any other nation on the planet yet the illegals still try to out game the system, this was okay when the U.S economy was still vibrant but now that the nation is 20 Trillion dollars in debt, even natural born citizens are feeling the heat.

My mindset has served me well than most people here on Nairaland. What separates the whites from blacks most times is that when it comes to investing and making financial decisions they don't just jump in without doing their research. Someone comes from Russia and dumps a scheme on Nigerians and due to the poverty and the desperation, most people buy into it. When it eventually crashes, the promoters will be nowhere to be found leaving the consumers as victims! Any scheme or company that refuses to be regulated or registered with the government of the country they are operating in should be met with skepticism, they pay now but what is the guarantee that they won't do the same thing they did in Russia and China?

How did you go about getting your blue passport?
The same way most people go about it after they get their citizenship through one of the following ways:

1: Born in the U.S

2: Married a U.S citizen after 3 years get citizenship

3: Employed by a U.S company and was able to adjust status and then after citizenship.

4: Green card qualified for through parents then after 5 years qualification for citizenship.

Anymore questions?

Theoretically, you are correct but to a large extent, you are not.

First, the filibuster rule is still in place to a large extent in the Senate, which means the minority Democrat Senators will have a say in bills.

Second, you only need 3 Senators from the GOP side,to flip on each bill that require simple majority votes and there are more than 3 GOP senators that are from blue states, who will gauge the tone and will of their constituents on each bill before voting.

Third, America is not a democracy, it is a constitutional Republic, which means Americans have certain enumerated inalienable rights that no President, Senators, Congress or majority of America citizens can take away.

Fourthly, Politicians in American always listen to their constituents and knows that, their jobs & seats are not guaranteed, the next time around, if they screw them.

Remember that, Trump is not a politicians, he does not know the inner workings of the US establishment. Some of his utterances during the campaign are against Republicans conservative values and if you look at his current transition team, they are made up of career Republican politicians and his rumored picks for various positions are the same. Which means, though something's will change, but you will be highly disappointed if you expect a drastic change or even most of the things he mentioned on the campaign trail coming to past.

Campaigning is one thing, governorship is another.
Nice write up but you are also wrong to an extent. Americans have certain rights but if you are an illegal immigrant and/or a criminal those rights are off the table. A lot of Trump's plans can be carried out via executive order. This means he does not need the consent of Congress. Trump is a businessman which means he has been dealing with government officials, business people and technocrats for a very long time, he is a strategists which means he is highly unpredictable, the majority in the House and Senate will only work in his favor and not against him as a majority of the American people believe that Washington is broken and power needs to return to the States. For example Obamacare, Trump could use a process called reconciliation to strike down parts of the law that is unfavorable, this requires less votes from Congress and will surely pass with little efforts. Other issues like NAFTA and TPP are also dead because majority of Republicans agrees with Trump, these are 3 crucial issues that could be fixed within 100 days of the Trump's presidency and will make him even more popular.

Some people would just open mouth "gbaga" and exhale rubbish.

That you're PRIVILEGED shouldn't make you call another person a LAZY man.

Why wishing evil on people cos you think (just as of this moment), you're better than them.

So many of the so called illegal immigrants, esp from Nigeria have through this sojourn, turned the fortune of their respective families around. Some youths are in higher institution of learning right now just because their brother/sister took that risk and became that "illegal immigrant".
Some fathers have been saved from hypertension, mothers high BP (that could have been as a result of seeing their children still struggling without hope in Nigeria after several yrs of joblessness ) cos their offspring took that decision and have become so responsible that they never joke with their parents wellbeing/health.

Majority of Naijas that travel both legally and illegally have in no immeasurable ways become great source of blessings unto their numerous friends and families. Its so so annoying seeing many people right here condemning them. Just same way I see some e.diots condemning people people trying to stay away from crime by hawking gala and beverages in traffic. Live and let's live.

I agree it's a crime or whatever definition its tagged, however, we should not be too fast at wishing woes on people who aren't fortunate to be " citizen" but have been law-abiding as they could. Don't let us forget the economic impact of diaspora transactions on this our staggering economy. The billions sent home (Remember through either legal or illegal stay) could not be wished away. So far you're not engaging in any criminal activities, I don't wish you evil. 'nuff said.
Why then do we bother with having laws, we should just do away with all the laws and live like animals. By your reasoning as long as the end justifies the means nothing can go wrong. I have some examples that would help to put things in perspective for you:

1. Emeka/Haruna/Bolaji got a visiting visa and upon arrival to the U.S decided they were not going back. Emeka/Haruna/Bolaji cannot work in a high paying job because they do not have the proper papers hence they must result to stolen identities and forgery in order to get a job that pays higher. Emeka/Haruna/Bolaji have broken two laws, overstaying their visa and identity theft.

2. Bimbo/Ngozi/Hadiza applied for visiting visa at the U.S embassy, they were all denied due to not having strong ties to Nigeria. The visa officer feared that they might over stay their visa. Bimbo/Ngozi/Hadiza won visa lottery in the year 2022, they had their interview at the U.S embassy but were denied on the grounds that Ngozi is related to Emeka who overstayed his visa, Hadiza is a sister to Haruna and Bimbo listed Bolaji as her husband.

These two scenarios shows the devastating consequences of illegal immigration on those qualified to come here legally. You might say they just want to survive and feed their families but so does a bandit that robs a bank because he wants to pay for his child's surgery. The law is the law and offenders should be shown no SYMPATHY!
