The Imo State government on Monday gave reasons why a former governor of the State, Rochas Okorocha, was let of the hooks at the state command headquarters around 11.30 on Sunday night.

Speaking to The PUNCH, the state Commissioner for information and strategy, Declan Emelumba, said that Okorocha, who now represents Imo West at the Senate, was released by the police on “medical grounds.”

Emelumba said that the release of Okorocha didn’t mean he won’t answer to the “offence he Committed”.

Emelumba said, “Okorocha was released on Sunday by the police on medical grounds. The man was purging and stooling consistently, the police had to release him on medical grounds to enable him to take care of his health. His release doesn’t mean he will not answer his case.”

But Okorocha who reacted to the claim while addressing his supporters at his Spibat mansion in Owerri on Monday said that the presidency intervened in the matter.

Okorocha said, “They kept me there ( police headquarters) and about 11:30pm they asked me to go. I want to thank the presidency for intervening in the matter. Governor Hope Uzodinma shouldn’t take my peaceful disposition for granted.

“He should remember that he will not be remembered by how many people he fought by how many projects he built.”

Four heavily armed suspected kidnappers were on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 shot dead by the police in Calabar, the Cross River State capital.

GRASSROOT REPORTERS gathered that the incident took place at No. 24C, School Road, Satellite Town, Calabar.

The incident led to the death of a notorious kidnapper and cultist, popularly known as Romans, who was the leader of the kidnapping gang.

Briefing newsmen on Friday, the Cross River State Commissioner of Police, Kayode Sikiru Akande said: "On February, 17th 2021, at about 1705hrs combined teams of Operatives cordoned a hideout of one notorious kidnapper and cultist popularly known as Romans ‘m’ at No. 24C School Road, Satellite Town, Calabar and rescued one Endurance Aniedi Egbara.


“During the process, four (4) suspects sustained various degrees of gunshot injuries in an attempt to evade arrest. They were confirmed dead in the Hospital.

"Items recovered from them include: Three (3) locally made pistols with three live cartridges, charms, amulets, two bottles of concoction, one pack substance suspected to be cocaine, one Itel Phone, three (3) sim cards, Documents of a vehicle with Registration No. CAL 932 TC used by the kidnappers. Investigation is ongoing."

I observe my girl friend is very stingy and selfish. I really don't need anything from her, I foot our bills from A - Z, I give her between 1500 to 5k as tfare, meanwhile the actual tfare from my place to hers is just 200 to and fro.

Ok the problem is some weeks ago she was at my place for some days, the 2nd day in the morning I realized my toothpaste has finished, having it in mind that I'm gonna buy another one on my way back later in the day, unfortunately I forgot to buy it despite buying stuff at the supermarket. But God so good as I was blaming myself for forgetting to buy it, she told me she has toothpaste in her bag so we used her toothpaste that morning. I kept forgetting to buy this toothpaste for the next 3 days, I had to cut the tube with knife so I can have something to brush my teeth but my girlfriend was quietly using her toothpaste alone and she will return it into her bag, she saw me tearing the tube but didnt occur to her to surrender her toothpaste until i bought mine the 5th day.

I really didn't count it initially but I have noticed other things and it's taking my mind back to the incidence. My girlfriend has never used her money to buy me a sachet of pure water or cheapest orange or whatever.

Another funny thing is when we are eating, sometimes she accused me of eating from her meat or taking from her drinks when i didn't even touch it. Imagine always trying to lay claim to 3 pieces out of 4.

Do I need to pay attention to some of the little details or overlook all because of love or am I overreacting?

I also told her point blank that she is very stingy she tried to defend herself, I told her that her stingyness makes me wonder if I am in any kind of trouble and couldn't access cash that she can't help me. My dear set standards. Don't throw her away yet, she may just be ignorant about things like this. Maybe, all the men in her life so far have not been man enough to confront her and make her understand. Be the one to interrupt the trend. Be a man.

Moral of the story is that what you allow in your relationship as a man is what you get.

Stop giving her the Tfare everyday. Put your foot down. She is not the only girl in the world. Set standards for yourself.

I am in my early 30 and I have been dating this lady for a year now and we are planning to settle down together and this happened.

There is this 11 months old baby in my compound who is very close to me and she just started walking. The very first time she saw my girl, she was soo scared and started crawling very fast towards her mum and crying. I quickly ran after her and carried her back to where my girl was sitting down, this time, the crying and running became very intense, I was shocked and I asked why the baby was so scared of her and she said she doesn't know.

I really need wise counsel and will try to make this post as short as possible

My girlfriend and I have been together since 2015. I left Naija in 2017 and since then, our relationship has been more of long distance except for the one time I came back. While I truly love her and wish to Marry her, there are some things that are giving me concerns and I would like to hear other people's perspective:


1- When I met my girl in 2015, I was an unemployed graduate wrapping up my NYSC. She was a fashion designer/Tailor and didn't have any formal higher education (University Level).

2- Fast forward to 2021, I am a consultant in a fortune 500 company and have grown so much in any measurable aspect of Life. My girlfriend is still a fashion designer and not too long ago, I helped her get a shop in Lagos and Have been sending her steady allowance (at least average of 40-50k a month).

Here are the things that have given me a lot of worries:
1- I know everyone will not get a formal education and I am fine with that but my girl has not been hustling/pulling her weight in her chosen career despite my extra support.... I sometimes get the feeling that all she wants is to get married and get comfortable but I want an industrious woman. Formal education or not, I want a woman that can hussle!

2- Recently, I pretended to be unemployed because of Coronavirus just to see if she would send me some money (even if its 10k) or really, anything she can afford. Looking at the fact that I had always supported her month after month, I wanted to see if she would do the same for me.
I pretended to be unemployed for almost a month and did not receive any form of financial support from her. Even when I directly asked her to loan me small money, she would play it off by saying something like "I go write you check for 1 million sef".....

I am thinking of breaking it off at this point by slowly letting her go but before I do that, I want the perspective of people here.
Please, no insult! I am genuinely seeking your insight. Be kind!

ps. My family are doing really well and I support anything they do. I have never neglected my family in anyway, shape or form.
