PoliticsRe: Uduaghan Renames Stadium After Keshi, Showers Gifts On Eagles by Abujafood: 2:59pm On Feb 15, 2013
All these cash gifts is just plain hypocrisy.

Government didn't provide enough cash to develop sports in the country but when the super eagles win the AFCON they decided to show-off by splashing money on the team.

Why not splash money on sports development so that corporate bodies can adequately reward these athletes.

Whenever you have a quarrel with your spouse? Does he/she win sometimes, most of the time or all the time. Why?

When does compromise give way for domination and vice versa in a relationship?

By the way I'm a MAN!

SportsJonathan Showers N150m, Abuja Lands, Honours On Eagles by Abujafood(op): 9:23am On Feb 13, 2013
President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday lavished a cash gift of over N150 million to the Super Eagles as federal government’s token for their outstanding performance in the just concluded 2013 Africa Cup of Nations where they emerged champions last Sunday, 19 years after its last victory at the tournament.

The president also announced that each of the players and coaches were to get one plot of land each in Abuja, just as he also conferred national honours on the national team members, the coaches and the technical crew members.

Jonathan made the announcement while speaking at a well-attended dinner reception held in honour of the Super Eagles at the Banquet Hall of the presidential villa, Abuja, yesterday night.

From the breakdown given by the president, Super Eagles head coach, Stephen Keshi, got N10 million while his two assistants – Daniel Amokachi and Ike Shorumu - and each player got N5 million. Other technical crew members got N2 million each.

In the order of the national honours award, Coach Keshi was conferred with the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) award, the two assistant coaches were honoured with the Officer of the Federal Republic (OFR) award, while the players and others were conferred with the Member of the Federal Republic (MFR) awards.

The president also applauded the cash gifts lavished on members of the team by individuals, including business moguls, Aliko Dangote and Mike Adenuga, noting that more individual cash or kind gifts were still being expected.

He mentioned about five persons who donated $500,000 to the team, saying members of the team knew how to share it.

President Jonathan went on to describe the Eagles performance as an awesome achievement which deserved praises, saying the team had put golden smiles on the faces of Nigerians.

Noting that the Eagles proved that Nigeria was a gold mine, Jonathan said, while for 19 years NIgeria had not won the trophy, the general impression was that the country’s football had derailed.

He praised the team for overcoming the scepticism of those who doubted their ability, and marched on with determination through the qualifiers till they claimed the ultimate prize.

Noting that penultimate Monday, he was at the same venue with his predecessors, former Heads of State and presidents to flag off the country’s centenary celebration, marking one hundred years of

Nigeria’s existence, Jonathan said the golden trophy won by the Eagles was a major gift for the centenary celebration.

Sports Minister Bolaji expressed delight that they arrived in the country with the team to the warm embrace and massive embrace of Nigerians, stressing that this, indeed, was a breath of fresh air.

“We have waited 19 years to win this trophy and we can afford to wait this longer again”, he stated, recalling also that Jonathan had enjoined them when they were set for the competition to ensure that their performance should reflect and demonstrate that Nigeria is the giant of Africa,” he said.

The Super Eagles Captain, Joseph Yobo handed the golden trophy to the NFF president, Alhaji Aminu Maigari, who handed the cup to sports minister for formal presentation to the president.

RomanceRe: Little Things That Leads To Break-up In Relationships by Abujafood: 9:28am On Feb 12, 2013
SpicyMimi: 1. Loving the person too much or choking your partner with your love- no matter how in-love you both might be, the moment one is choking the other with too much love, it fizzles out the love of the other partner leading his or her love to depreciate. Try to always make it balance or else you just might scare your partner away.

2. Desperation- when you show signs of desperation in your relationship, like trying to trap the person to yourself through marriage...this scares hell out of some people, especially if your partner aint ready to be hooked up or where the relationship its still in its early stage, dont talk about marriage except if you are both desperate about it.

3. As a guy if you are the stingy type, and have never cared about your Girlfriend's finance, neither have you bought her any gifts, then i feel sorry for you.

4. Immaturedness: No girl wants a kiddo as a boyfriend or someone who talks and does things like a kid! No no...she will definitely dump your azz!

5. Mode of dressing: If your mode of dressing is really horrible, please do something about it fast!
That is a very silly thing to do, dumping someone because of how they dress, rubbish!

6. Dirty finger nails and toes also leads to break-ups in r'ships.
This OP is what you should call immaturedness a girl who does this is still in primary school.

7. Flirting: flirting might be fun, and might seem not strong enough to disolve a relationship....the truth is, it can!

8. Too Demanding: you want this, you want that, you want all...take a chill pill abeg, your partner would definitely get tired of you someday.

9. When you are too arrogant, too violent, too pushy, too insultive, always engaging in one fight or the other...this is a big turn-off!

10. Respect your partner's decision always.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Common Errors Of First Time Applicants. by Abujafood: 4:35pm On Feb 08, 2013
1. Checking out your interviewer. For guys that can't help but flirt with pretty ladies don't ever 'eye' your interviewer especially if she's older than you.

2. Forming Ajebo. some applicants think if they can form one accent they might impress someone. Unless you're making sense during the interview 'forming' is a waste of time.

3. Pungent Deodorant or perfume I once heard of an interviewer who was asthmatic that nearly died because an applicant entered the room with strong smelling designer perfume that made breathing difficult for the interviewer. Watch it peeps! It's not by force to smell nice!

RomanceBreak Up Ideas For Valentine! by Abujafood(op): 2:32pm On Feb 08, 2013
Now that the season of love is enveloping us and many guys aren't prepared to spend more than they should with the ladies expecting to be pampered the usual thing for some guys is to break up around this season then make up a few weeks later.

Here are a few ideas on how to break up:

1. Try this on the night before valentine. Call her up and say things you know will get her really angry. When she barks at you react angrily rather than calm her down. Then cut the line and don't call her back till after valentine. If she calls don't pick!

2. 3 days to valentine pretend something else is more important to you than her e.g your club, job etc. When she comes around just show her you don't have her time.

3. On the eve of Valentine start an argument over nothing and use that as an excuse not to talk to her.

Over to you! More ideas please!
