https://i.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2011/HEALTH/02/13/bad.breath.remedies/t1larg.bad.breath.ts.jpg Most of us in the course of our daily lives in Abuja, have encountered someone with bad breath in a public space. We usually try to politely ignore the assault to our nasal senses when around an individual with this condition and then laugh about it later with our friends. Bad breath is a topic that is usually approached with much laughter. For those suffering from this embarrassing condition however the subject is far from funny. The medical term for bad breath is Halitosis and the causes of it are usually associated with the presence of a large quantity of bacteria, decaying food particles and dead tongue cells on the tongue. Sounds horrible doesn't it. Much of it is due to what we eat but fail to properly take out after enjoying a sumptuous meal. Poor dental hygiene like irregular brushing, lack of flossing and sometimes infections such as catarrh and tooth decay could also cause it. It can be difficult to be aware of bad breath, especially if the culprit is you. However you could be on the safer side when you learn how to manage your breath so there's no need for a self examination. Below are some tips to keep your breath fresh and you from becoming the but of everyone's jokes. Ensure proper hygiene Brushing twice daily, in the morning first thing after waking up and the last thing before bed helps minimize the build up of bacteria that causes bad breath. Chewing gum after meals Chewing a sugar free gum is good for the mouth because it helps hydrate the mouth by producing saliva which washes away bacteria and food residues in the mouth. A dry mouth encourages the build up of bacteria just as oily/fried foods tend to promote bad breath. Drink lots of water Drink a lot of water in place of sugary fizzy drinks as the latter could cause sugar to deposit in the gums which could lead to tooth decay. Get a proper tongue cleaner Some tooth brushes have a tongue cleaner. These tools are very effective in fighting bad breath as most of the mouth odour comes from the tongue. Using one after meals is an effective way to avoid bad breath. Use a mouth wash Did you know that the stomach and nostrils can contribute to having a bad breath? That is why oral hygiene that goes beyond brushing ones teeth is very important. Anti-bacterial Mouth washes are a great additional support for keeping your breath fresh. Before going out on a social or business appointments, think about using a mouth wash to give you that extra confidence. http://www.abujafood.com/lifestyle/health-a-fitness/1202-how-to-handle-halitosis.html |

https://cdni.condenast.co.uk/592x888/Shows/SS2013/Milan/R-T-W/Dolce_and_Gabbana/Details/00400h_592x888.jpg Although rainy season has well and truly arrived in Abuja, we can't shake that Spring-Summer feeling. It's not just affecting our moods with a sunnier hue but our wardrobes too! Below are five Spring Summer trends of 2013 we absolutely love and you can incorporate into your wardrobe. Just because we live in Abuja doesn't mean we can't be in trend...right? A Linear Affair There’s nothing that embraces the contours of a woman quite like stripes. Vertical horizontal or symmetrical, we love them long, lean, monochrome or rainbow colored. Stripes of all types are where it’s at fashion wise this Spring. Far from boring this Peter Pilotto dress is allergic to straight lines opting rather for something more colorfully adventurous. Back to Black Although it’s sunny outside we prefer to stay in the cool darkness with this Summer trend. It’s all about the light texture of the black fabric that keeps you cool during hot Abuja afternoons. This Christian Dior black summer dress is a perfect example of the classic Little Black Dress for daytime. The new black is well…black. Snow White White and Summer go together like white on rice. It’s the perfect hue for sweltering hot summer days spent outdoors. Elegant, pristine and regal, this trend is the best treatment for a wardrobe overhaul to something simpler. This Valentino lace dress proves that if done well, white can be a show stopper. Shine Bright Let your inner light shine through in metallic-like surfaces that glint in the sunlight. Like Magpies, if it don’t shine, we are simply not interested. This trend takes its inspiration from precious metals like gold, silver, diamonds and emeralds, but lucky for us we can wear it all over. Burbbery Porsum allows us to shine bright like a diamond in glitteringly glamorous dresses like the one above. Blossoming Bouquets Flowers always bloom in Spring and sure enough their blooming up and down the Spring-Summer runways inspiring Fashionistas around the globe to transform their summer wardrobes into decadent fabric gardens. These textured Dolce and Gabana 3D floral print dresses were simply breathtaking, inspiring us to add a bit of floral to our outfits this Summer. http://www.abujafood.com/lifestyle/fashion-a-style/1193-5-spring-summer-trends-of-2013-we-love.html |

Never take a girl to a night club on a first date! Except both of you are interested in having a fling! |
We Nigerians are used to being under served in so many spheres of life! That includes eating outdoors. I would like us to talk on this thread about Eateries in Nigeria and your rating/review (scale of 10 for each criteria) of their services using the following criteria. Price: Ambience: Menu: Quality of Meals Served: Customer Service: Hygiene/Sanitation: I'll go first Tantalizers Abuja (5, 2, 4, 4, 5, 3) My rating for them is 23/60 which is poor! I think Tantalizers is one of the worst eateries in Nigeria with little consideration for hygiene and low quality service delivery. |
Seems MOB justice has come to stay in Nigeria! |
