Judas Iscariot is referred to as the last of the 12. Judas was the son of Simon, who was called “Iscariot”. The name “Iscariot” means “man of Kerioth”; Kerioth was a small town in Judea about 23 miles south of Jerusalem. Of the 12 disciples of Jesus, he was the only non-Galilean. The secret to knowing what irked Judas into betraying Christ is the statement Christ made in Simon the leper’s house: “She has come beforehand to anoint My body for burial”. In the days leading to Jesus’ arrest, Jesus had told His disciples He would lay down His life, that is, He would surrender Himself over to His adversaries. The Gospels show that He predicted His arrest and death about four times. So, what irked Judas Iscariot to such an extent that he considered betraying His master? Now, the sentiments making the rounds in Judea, Judas’ homeland, was: Jesus Christ is the Messiah that would deliver Israel from colonialism; He would take the seat of His father, David, and rule Israel (as the scriptures had said); Hence, the great cry: Hosanna! Hosanna! Hosanna! (“Hosanna” the Hebrew word for “save”, “rescue” or “help”) when He made His entry into Jerusalem (on a donkey). Judas’ postulation from the very beginning had been that Christ would become a powerful religious and political leader; and his allegiance with Christ would be of great benefit, materially and politically. (This Judaean, Judas Iscariot, could have been brought up religiously to be familiar with the reading of “The Prophets” regularly in Jerusalem - that the Messiah would come, reign and prosper). However, in the days leading to Jesus’s arrest, Jesus had greatly limited His miraculous acts and often announced His impending death to His disciples, putting paid to Judas’ ambition; with Jesus’ statement concerning the breaking of the alabaster box of oil by Mary being the straw that broke the camel’s back. With the prospect of ridicule (in that his kinsmen would shame him for supporting a charlatan) and failure (in that his ambition was thwarted; and rather than return home with a shout of victory, he would return empty-handed and without recompense for his service to Christ) staring him in the face, he disdained Jesus for having wasted three years of his life; and he headed to the council of high priests in a move to save face - to be hailed as one who delivered Israel from a pretender and return home in riches. In the quest to protect his image, Judas Iscariot forgot one of life’s important principles: dignity is more important than wealth. Christ would have rewarded him according to His word in Proverbs 22:4: The reward of humility and the fear of the Lord are riches, honor and life; Judas lost all three rewards. Acehart |
YorubaKinging:So who is the God of Macron’s Fathers? Please furnish me with the ancestry of Macron so that I may know that they worshipped Yahweh. I wonder what many who will read this response of yours: “Not desire FOR women, but desire of women..which means children” would think? I would not speak of what I think. Mr Yoruba King, you said, “And even , macron has no desire for women because he's a a gay”; Yet he has a wife; Maybe to you a vegetarian eats meat. If you read that text objectively, you would notice that it didn’t say he would have desire for men. Your conspiracy theory isn’t scriptural. I greet you Your Royal Highness |
YorubaKinging:The scriptures says, The Antichrist will have no desire for women; but Macron has a wife. So which scripture gave rise to your conspiracy theory? |
Eviana:So you have a “spy” suspicion? Can we know about it? |

Did someone hack into your account? |
Eviana:I would try to make my response as brief as possible so that I may avert any ambiguity. (Please keep in mind the decree of the Jerusalem council concerning the Gentile Christians in the Acts of Apostle; it would make you fit in certain missing pieces in my response) African Traditional Religion (ATR) has at its very core the following: concerns for health, wealth, and procreation. (You could watch or read “Things fall apart” by Chinua Achebe to understand what I mean). In ATR, the following themes (not exhaustive) are where ATR and Pentecostalism in Africa or Nigeria kiss each other: 1. The native doctor. (I wouldn’t like to talk about the shrine and the deity) 2. The ATR prayer. 3. The sacrifice and/or the blood of the sacrifice. 4. The devotee. The native doctor Only the native doctor (shaman) has direct physical and spiritual access to the deity or spirit world. The devotee is not blessed with his gift. Therefore, everything the native doctor says must be obeyed because he is the mouthpiece of the gods; He is the only source of understanding. The ATR prayer The Christian style of prayer is not the ATR style of prayer. The conversation style prayer of true Christianity is antithetical to what is obtained in ATR. In ATR, it is a command-style form of prayer or a conjuring. It’s what is obtained in witchcraft. The part of the Bible used to support this ATR practice in the church is the quote from the False preacher, Eliphaz - Job’s friend - where he recommended “conjuring” (decree a thing...) as a form of prayer. So, in ATR, if one is poor, wealth is conjured. If one is sick, health is conjured. If one is childless, uhm! This one is complex o! Many things can be prescribed from adultery, fornication, human sacrifice, blood oaths with the deity etc. these could also be attached for the “procurement” of health and wealth too. At the end, a child is conjured for the barren. The typical form of prayer in ATR is retaliatory in nature (we call it “back-to-sender” here in the Nigeria. Where a calamity is thought to be aroused by one’s enemy; and the retaliatory prayer controls the calamity and “sends” it back to where it came from - one’s enemy. Unfortunately this is the kind of prayer in many churches in Nigeria). The sacrifice and/or the blood of the sacrifice ATR is not based on faith but on rituals, ceremonies, and lived practices. In the rituals, ceremonies and lived practices, substances play a big role. These substances purchase the needs of the devotee from the deity. Unfortunately, the Nigerian church teach that substances purchase special privileges from God. A lot of references are made to blood sacrifices made in the Bible to the extent that Christ’s blood is transubstantiated, oaths made by Jacob and Jephthah etc. Like ATR, many churches have modern day styled rituals, ceremonies and lived practices based on many Bible texts. We have churches that prescribe daily midnight prayers to combat powers of darkness in one’s life and neighborhood - a derivation from ATR, “sowing seeds”, speaking (commanding) to the elements of nature and thereafter giving alms to secure the words spoken etc The devotee Like ATR, the devotee must follow prescribed prayer points given by the native doctor - word for word. Failure to obey or missing a step can have grave consequences. Yet, His faith is quasi-passive; as long as he follows the rules of engagement, everything is fine. However, the devotee has a lot of confidence in the native doctor because 1. the deity is shrouded in mystery 2. The native doctor is very confident and he exudes his confidence in his words and action. So, you may hear many Bible texts used to manipulate people in church in the ATR manner - where the native doctor is the habiter of the deity’s power: the most popular Bible verse is: 2 Chronicles 20:20: put your trust in the Lord your God and you will be established. Put your trust in His prophets and succeed." When you can, please read https://www.amazon.com/Seduction-Nigerian-Church-Gary-Maxey-ebook/dp/B073NRSQMM It would give you a bird’s eye view of Nigerian Christianity. I don’t think my response is great but I hope it would spur you to find out more. |
jcross19:If I asked: why is your grammar horrible? It isn’t a condemnation but a statement of fact. Your grammar says a lot about your educational background (this is a statement of fact). Same thing goes for Judas. (There is no place where Jesus condemns him) Judas’ nature was horrible. Any statement about him was never a condemnation but a statement of fact. One has to look at his nature to get to this conclusion. However, if you have anywhere in the Bible where Jesus is seen condemning Judas, please state it (with the proper rule of the English grammar as the reason for your conclusion). |
Eviana:A concept by all Pentecostal churches and many orthodox churches whose pastors covert the “prosperity” of the Pentecostal church overseers. It’s actually the effect of the syncretism between African Traditional Religion (ATR) and the Old Testament (the parts that marry perfectly with ATR). |
You are putting your ideas into the scriptures. Well done, sir. |
ireneblush:I hope things are okay between you and your parents. Parents are almost the same everywhere - they expect their “investment” to pay obeisance to them. My dad can be a bit frustrating; however, he knows I would not pick up his phone calls during the week or reply his text messages during work days except when he sends a “stinker”. I call him on my own terms and text him if I like. I think your “fault” lies in the bolded sentence up there - but mine is worst because I do everything they say. Irene don’t be mad at me if I said that you don’t have an identity. I wish I could explain in a few letters what I mean. However, what I mean are these: 1. You seek people’s opinion for nearly everything. 2. You are predictable. Deep down, you don’t trust yourself. 3. You are defined by the relationship(s) you have. 4. You don’t have true friends. Perhaps, you usually have them but you don’t keep them for long. I hope I am wrong. If what I have identified are true, they aren’t your fault but the effect of the “control mechanism” your parents have “steam rolled” over you. You are older now and can control most of things that happen to you now. Socialize, try new things and get consumed in things that would make you “unreachable” until you have your true identity. Stay safe wherever you are. |
What car did you eventually buy? |
What a surprise? This morning I was thinking about why we don’t have any investigation into claims of healing in some churches. I’m glad to read this. |
Maestro21:The bolded should have been your course of action right from the start. What you are doing now is like the action of Peter in the garden- wielding a sword to kill -this is fanatism. You will make a mess and ridicule your leader the more. Sheath you’re sword and leave all to God. |
Maestro21:I didn’t know whom he was referring to. From your suspicion, I “now know” who he may have been referring to. I don’t know how old you are but when I was a kid, if someone insulted the anonymous one who farted, no one would say a word or retaliate. You have disrespected your pastor by mentioning his name in regards to Mr Ashimolowo’s comment whether Mr Chris is directly, indirectly or not responsible for the conspiracy theory. |
Maestro21:Sir, You haven’t answered me. Did you hear him mentioning anyone’s name. Can you sue him for defamation of character? |
Maestro21:Did he call your pastor’s name? Did you watch the video? |
He has spoken well. |
hupernikao:Good question. You know many people don’t think logically that’s why they contradict themselves. If a=b and b=c, can we have a=/c? A HIGH output (1) results only if all the inputs to the AND gate are HIGH (1); Can we ever have a LOW output (0) when the inputs are HIGH (1)? The OP thinks otherwise. He will either contradict himself or become heretic. |
solite3:Thou believest; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. |
GAZZUZZ:Thanks |
GAZZUZZ:That part of the engine area was removed and welded.
|
Good evening Gazzuzz, Some weeks ago, I noticed a leak on the left hand side of the engine of my car (RX 350). I gave my mechanic and he told me that the "sump" is leaking and that the leaking point would have to be welded. The leaking stopped until last weekend. I have called him to express my displeasure. Please Gazzuzz, what could be the solution to this, same point, same leak? Thanks

blueAgent:Hello, Your quotes are emphatic but your conclusion doesn’t meet the high standard with which your build up is set. I’d like to ask the following questions based on your conclusion and topic : 1. What stage of death are you speaking of? 2. Hebrews 9:27 says, “And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment”: what part of man is judged? 3. If Michael and Satan contended for the body of Moses (Jude 9), what part of Moses appeared at Caesarea Phillipi? Also, what part of Elijah’s being ascends to heaven? 4. What part of Samuel’s being appeared to the witch at Endor? 5. When Jesus said: If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also; what part of man’s being goes to meet Christ where He is? 6. Could you talk about the “Souls” in Revelation 6:9, please? Thank you. |

There are many gods. Which one is he referring to? The God of the Christians, Christ, doesn’t promise any of his children good health or the things people yearn for so that they may say, “I had a good day”. His promises to us are many and if you would sum up all of them, you get one word - peace. In all scripture, you would see that the children of God - the Christian one, suffer and they die. Anyone saying contrary is a liar and an entertainer. Sarah was sick, Moses was sick, Elisha was sick, David was sick, Ahijah was blind, Job was sick, Daniel was sick, Peter’s mother was sick; Lazarus, Jesus’ friend was sick and died and rotted in the grave, etc. I can go on and on. Suffering is a part of life. For the Christian, it achieves a lot for him or her in indescribable ways. That papa is not the Papa of Christians; that pseudonym applies to only his followers and admirers. Life is short and sorrowful for every living soul (Job 14:1) |
ENGINEERG:Jesus, though he heals many, does not rid the whole world of viral infection any more than he abolishes all disease or disaster. Jesus saves us from our sins but not from our suffering and death. He doesn’t even save himself. Instead, Jesus descends deep into our humanity to share it with us for love’s sake. Our core calling as Christians remains to respond with love to God and to our neighbors as ourselves. Such is the way of the Cross and its glory. |
dancok:Tithing was instituted in the OT by Moses because the children of Israel didn’t love to give to the needy in the community - their heart was wicked. It was also mandatory. In the NT, giving is not mandatory but it must come from a cheerful and ready heart. The mode of giving in the NT according to Luke 6:38: Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure-pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return." If you understand this verse, it is saying: be ready to give more than you have - over 100%. However, God is the one who creates the need and by His spirit, He works in you to will and to do His good pleasure - attend to the need He has created. (Think of the widow that fed Elijah for a year). Also, Christ said if we give, the left hand shouldn’t know what the right hand is doing - a metaphor for saying it should be anonymous. Is tithe giving anonymous? Doesn’t someone see your name on your tithe card and know how much you give? I pray that you understand that there is no stipulated measure according to the words of Jesus (Your heart determines everything). All He says to us is: without me, you can’t do anything. Trust the Lord Jesus for His understanding of your situation; He will not give you a burden you can’t carry. Keep your money until God requires it from you (the time is not now). |
MuttleyLaff:These are the type of responses I expected from you because I think you are intelligent and you also have the humor of a short man, lol. I wanted to learn from you but as Madonna sang, “You want to see what your eyes want to see”. I actually feel like taking your response as my gift and not bother about the question anymore. (If I took the calendar gift from an arrogant man without throwing it away, your reply is much better and it deserves to be cherished). I answered the question in my first response. Your magnifying glass was foggy. Lol. Thank God, the heat of the Sun has made them clearer. (Please don’t go back to read it). Dredd (Yes! Judge Dredd. Thank you), Super Ted, Birdman etc. Their books would be meaningless (forever) after the term; but I’ll keep my comics till a silverfish destroys them. Thank you. |
MuttleyLaff:I’m sorry for the difficultly my response caused you. I have just realized that I have a big flaw (which has not refused to leave me for many years); In primary school, I drew a lot and made quite a number of comics. After school hours while waiting to be picked up, I’d play, and when there was no one to play with, I’ll look for books other pupils left behind. By the time they returned the next day, they’d find that their 80 leaves books had been reduced to 20 leaves: I used the empty pages to make comics of Judge Dred, The Punisher, Superman, the Penalty shootout between Cameroon and England etc. A few months ago, I attended a (new) church and a Q&A session was in progress; it was coordinated by the church pastor. (The congregation was split in two groups, and candies were given to those who answered correctly). A little while into the session, he asked my group: “What does suffering achieve for a child of God?”. For about 15 seconds no one raised a finger to make an attempt to answer the question; then I raised my hands and said: “Suffering produces character in a child of God”. The pastor pondered about my response; mumbled with muffled sounds with his body vacillating, for about a minute while the church waited for his verdict. Then he said, “not correct. Group A who can give an answer”. I was chuffed. I waited till the service was over and approached him: I said: “Sir, I am correct, but you said I am wrong. This is what the Bible says in Romans 5:4 in the NIV”. “In this church we don’t use any other version than the King James Version”, He retorted. He went to the pulpit, and returned with a big Bible. He put on his “magnifying glass” and he checked my reference - Romans 5:4, and it read “experience” instead of “character”. “It says ‘experience’. In this church, we don’t use any other version than the King James Version”, he retorted while looking into my eyes. Someone called out to him and he requested that I waited for him so that he may attend to the church member who sought his presence. After he was through with that business, he walked towards the pulpit and returned with the New Year’s calendar and a picture of the Holy Bible with a bold inscription: KJV, printed on it. “You see”, he said with a tone of conviction. “Yes”, I replied. He gave me the calendar and I departed for my house. My intention was not sinister but I hope my primary school narrative would reveal the true picture. (I had one of my favorite songs, Madonna’s Frozen, playing in head while typing this). Have a nice day. Be safe. |
MuttleyLaff:I don’t like when I give long responses; but it is inevitable here. I’m sorry for taking your time. I think the answer to your question is idiosyncratic to you; and if I get your answer, it doesn’t mean our deduction is universal; I’m sure you have read that the mystery of Jezebel’s dismemberment has baffled many for centuries or more. Your question - what is the spiritual significance and parallel of Jezebel’s death and Jesus’ death, is repulsive (I mean no disrespect, sir. For what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness?) Didn’t you say I should keep Calvary in mind? Elijah prophesied the death of Ahab and his wife in ghastly details; The account says, They washed the chariot by the pool of Samaria, and the dogs licked up his blood. (1 Kings 22:38). They went to bury her, but they found nothing more of her than the skull and the feet and the palms of her hands. (2 Kings 9:35). Through these details, the writer gives how Elijah’s prophecy came to pass and also the notion of the retributive justice of Jehovah. Ahab’s body isn’t mutilated but Jezebel’s is. Jezebel is directly involved in Naboth’s demise; Ahab is indirectly involved (by complicity in silence). As Naboth’s body was mangled, so was her’s. As a result of Ahab’s (indirect) complicity, the dogs lick his blood not directly from his body but from the chariot where he gave up the ghost. Naboth’s death sentence by Jezebel’s hand is similar to that of Christ: the Law was twisted; for Naboth’s it was blasphemy against the King (punishable by death); for Christ Jesus, it was execution by treason (under the Roman Law) - He claimed to be a Messiah King. After Jezebel’s dismemberment by dogs, what was left were: 1. Her skull. 2. Her palms. 3. Her feet. The only parallelism that exists in the scriptures with regards to Jezebel’s death is the remains of the destruction of Dagon’s graven image: 1. It’s fall. 2. The severance of its head and palms from its trunk. 3. Similar contemptuousness of the phrase employed by the writer to describe their dismemberment. If there is any spiritual meaning to the dismemberment of Dagon and Jezebel, it would be to show all saints that they should be confident that they day of triumph approaches; for as Matthew Henry said, The kingdom of Satan will certainly fall before the kingdom of Christ, error before truth, profaneness before godliness, and corruption before grace in the hearts of the faithful. However, is there a parallel between Jezebel’s mode of death and Jesus’? God forbid. Jesus’ head was impaled by thorns; His hands and feet were pierced with nails. But His body was not dismembered as the scriptures said: He protects all his bones; not one of them will be broken. (Psa.34:20, John 19:33). Instead of falling, He is lifted up. If this is the case, Jesus’ death is antithetical to Jezebel’s; Jezebel and Dagon are symbols of iniquity and their dismemberment points to Jehovah’s triumph; then (man’s) iniquity laid upon Christ was a symbol of righteousness and the preservation of His bones the effect of God’s promise. In the biblical sense, dogs are unclean animals; but the term “dogs” is also used to describe religious ‘prostitutes’ (those given to syncretism) and evildoers. The word “eat” means “to believe”. In the parable of Lazarus and the rich man, we are told that the dogs licked Lazarus’ sore (but didn’t devour his flesh); It could be said those who were religiously syncretic would only acknowledge his teaching but they would not believe it. Biblically, “flesh” or “meat” means “teaching” or “doctrine“. When a dog licks food it is meant to devour, it means it detests such food. In Jezebel’s case, they eat the flesh of the head leaving behind the skull. Her head or mind with which she established Ba’al worship and teaching in Israel was attractive to dogs but its bone was repulsive. The word “bone” signifiies deep truths or depth. Do you remember the “vision of dry bones in the valley” by Ezekiel? It was a picturesque revelation of Israel’s hopelessness. Jezebel’s doctrine was superficial, to say the least; her religion had hopelessness at its core. Her palms, with which she signed, solicited the cooperation of false witnesses, and falsified documents with orders to commit judicial murder against a righteous man: If the hands are the symbol of man’s activity, then Jezebel’s palms reveals how hard she worked to slay the righteous. Even the dogs found her endless endeavor against the innocent repulsive. The feet by which she led the northern tribes into the grooves of Ba’al led her soldiers to hunt down God’s prophets were left alone by the dogs because her feet that was swift in running to mischief was abominable. The account of Jezebel’s life is short, but they are synonymous to her remains: the skull - nothing is said about the deep things of her religion; the palms - her unrighteous endeavor is well documented; and the feet - where she came from and how she walked the face of the earth is renowned. (If there is any parallel with Christ, it is that the palms and feet testifies of their lives. For Christ, they show the extent of His love; and that He died and resurrected in bodily form). If Lazarus is an antitype of Christ, the blood from his sores are repulsive to dogs; the vile intention of dogs towards him would be futile- When evildoers came against me to devour my flesh, my foes and my enemies stumbled and fell. |
Bluezy13:...but a man is titled to his own opinion. He stated two things or rather three that made him tilt to his opinion: a failure to apply correctly Jesus’ teaching concerning sinners (and not the children) - cutting the part of body that causes you to sin; failure to understand the ABC of sanctification (as well as justification). Eli was a humble looking priest with two sons of the wolf-kind; yet he had many admirers but the Bible speaks of only two men in all of Israel that didn’t fancy him: yet they were entitled to their unpopular opinion of humble Eli. The scriptures says what comes out of a man defiles him and by that we should judge what kind such a person is; and not by sentiments. If the writer judged the humble GO of RCCG by what came of of his mouth, did he judge unrighteously? |
