Did you watch it? You are showing me a publication from 1929 and we are in 2020. Well done.
The second publication says, “These circumstances demand an ambitious observational program to determine the dark energy properties as well as possible”. It is not even a theory that is proposed. I’d like to know your highest educational qualification and in what field. It seems you don’t know how to read papers.
I have you a video where the best physicists in the world speak about the universe’ expansion and either lack of data or sheer effort is the bane of your response.
solite3: There is no answer to that. According to scientist the universe is expanding actually space itself is expanding like an elastic material. However the bible describes the universe like a garment or cloth that would one day be pulled off.
Hebrews 1:11-12 They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.
Scientists say that the universe has stopped expanding because of the effect of entropy and gravitational force.
FrLukas: Good luck with your search for the one that teaches the truth.
John 4:23 But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.
You don’t have to wish her luck in her search; the Father is searching for her already; He doesn’t lose his way. He will find her.
MuttleyLaff: Of course, you know the popular saying: "sticks and stones may break my bones but words, will never hurt me" so my dear friend, you can have your kind and comforting words back and shove them up your .... Never mind, have a good evening!
MuttleyLaff: I enjoyed reading both Eviana and Acehart writeups, lol.
Eviana, certainly is entitled to voice her opinions. As it's just exactly what they are, they are views and/or conclusions formed about things, that are not necessarily based on fact or correct knowledge, lol.
I am going to cut to the bone and straightaway without any ceremony or wasting time come straight to the point, by asking you these few simple, easy, direct straightforward questions: 1/ How did Jacob sustain the hip injury he limped and suffered from? 2/ Who was until daybreak wrestling with God? 3/ Why would Apostle Paul say: "I do fight as if I were shadowboxing", hmm? 4/ Was what Jesus endure, suffered and went through at the hands of Pontius Pilate, the Roman soldiers, the arduous journey to Golgotha, the hanging on the cross and the culminating brutal death at same Calvary, any less vicious, volatile, vile, animalistic, barbaric, ferocious and life-threatening than the Wider vs Fury II fight, hmm? 5/ Did you perchance also read that the black guy (i.e. Deontay Wilder) said he believes in ancestors spirits? He actually said the Bronze Bomber is an ancestry spirit, that, it is this ancestry spirit that possesses him. Deontay, by the way, nicknames himself the "Bronze Bomber"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wj7tYm9vHKU I made mention in my earlier post somewhere above there, that the demon inside Deontay, at the 2:02-2:14 minute mark of this YouTube clip, was with hostility, shouting out from him, Deontay, saying "... there's only one Bronze Bomber, there's only one Bronze Bomber, there's only one Bronze Bomber ..." and that it was so surreal to watch and hear.
Let him/her who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone
I didn’t want to respond to your comment because there are mines laid all over it: it’s the kind of comment that didn’t employ the strength of the cerebral cortex.
1. A Greco-Roman styled wrestling contest in the olympics lasts for 5 minutes a bout; after each bout, many wrestlers can’t go on another five minutes; some limp out and are carried away by their coaching crew. Aleksandr Karelin was the “god” of Olympic wrestling; all but one of his opponents (professionally trained wrestlers from their childhood) did not last up to two minutes on the mat; many pinning themselves intentionally because of the fear of the inevitable - his reverse lift.
Then you hear of an octogenarian wrestling God for hours and you didn’t stop to ask if what was spoken of was a metaphor.
2. Paul’s Shadow boxing: When Paul quoted the inscription, “To the unknown God”, maybe he could be described as an evangelist turned Philosopher; when God described Himself with female qualities and features, He could be described as bisexual. (I speak with no wisdom).
You seem to forget that we were not born saved. If Paul described himself as Chief among sinners; what was it in his former state did he not still have knowledge of or that he should feign obliviousness to? Wasn’t his theology and letters to people who were once lovers of the things of this world (and still love them) littered with picturesque comparison to Roman sport terminologies:
"Do you not know that in the stadium all the runners run but that only one wins the victory wreath? Run in such a way that you win it! Each fighter lives however completely abstinent; they do it to win a passing, we however to win an imperishable prize. Therefore I do not run like someone who is running without aim, and do not fight with my fists like someone who punches into air; rather I chastise and subject my body, in order that I do not preach to other people and am rejected myself." (1 Cor 9:24-27)
Even your quote - shadow boxing, seems dubious. Contextually and specifically, you were wrong. (I hope I misunderstand you so that you can be correct). Didn’t Paul write this letter to a church who loved the things of the devil and those of this world?
4. The brutality against Christ: Are you suggesting in order to understand the brutality against Christ we must consume the brutality against Wilder? At your conversion, did the Spirit of Christ minister the wrath of men to you for your conversion or did He minister the love of God in Christ Jesus symbolized by the Cross of Calvary for your conversion? If your case is the former, may you peep into Heaven to check whether you name is inscribed in the Book of Life.
5. Wilder’s adoration of the spirit of his ancestors: When you glanced at that Book that saints have an assurance of salvation, were you admonished to pay attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons ? Didn’t Christ silence demons so that we would not be swayed by their declarations? Yet you heed to what (you perceived as demonic utterance) the Wilder man festered and try to sway us to follow your lead.
Eviana: Let me first put out a disclaimer: I DO NOT WATCH BOXING. I ABSOLUTELY AND UTTERLY DESPISE THIS SPORT AS I DO FOOTBALL..AND WILL ALWAYS DESPISE IT.
Reason being, that it is a vicious, volatile, vile, animalistic, barbaric, ferocious and life-threatening (in several ways) sport. Was trying to use the most descriptive adjectives. These men get their brains knocked around just as they do in football. That is not what the body was designed for. It really is a form of abuse on the body to be constantly pummelled and pounded on to the point of swollen eyes closed shut, bloody faces, backs and ears, ruptured ear drums etc. God does not condone that sort of "sport". God has "0" part in that...regardless of what folks may think.
Anyhoo, I do not live under a rock and have heard folks talking about the much-hyped match a week or so ago. So I researched the two guys briefly, and also searched for a clip of the fight and could barely watch 5 seconds. It was grotesque. People were speaking about something that the white guy did to the black guy. I watched it....and was sickened in the depths of my stomach. The image was detestable. Also, people were speaking about the confession of Christ by the white guy.
Now looking from a purely spiritual perspective, the white guy supposedly professes Jesus as his Saviour. Yet he engaged in an extremely inappropriatly stated sexualized ritual before getting ready for a match or matches? Then, what he specifically did to that black guy (not gonna describe it) that night towards the end of the match (I think caused I only saw a clip) had not even the slightest hint of Christianity. It was abnormal. Clearly, another entity had taken over him. That entity was NOT God...no way. None of that is Christ...nor is it Christianity. Quite naturally, when two men are practically beating each other to death, then there has to be another spirit taking over. That is exactly what happened.
I read that the black guy comes from a religious family, however, it clearly looks like he has strayed. He looked quite odd on that night in his regalia. That outfit looked very dark...an ungodly spirit was attached to it. What you guys saw was Hollywood....a script....a movie....actors on a stage....need I say more? That is what happens when the quest for fame, wealth, and power consume a person to the point that they forget Who and what are truly important in life. Now, I don't doubt that once upon a time, these guys professed Christ and maybe even lived it. It's quite possible they have back-slidden. But now, seing what "both" of them have done, as opposed to what they "profess", well we need to be praying for their full return to the Lord Jesus, because right now, sadly and unfortunately, they are not serving him. People need to be cautious about what we label as Chritianity or who we follow because he/she professes Jesus.
1 John 4:1 (KJV)
4 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
I enjoyed your writeup. I have also heard many Christians boast about the victory of Tyson Fury being a victory for the faith: it sounds like what politicians would say for popularity. It’s a travesty of the gospel to say the least.
I watch boxing (don’t slay me) though but what Fury did in the sixth round isn’t of the spirit of Christ: didn’t the Jerusalem council admonish the Gentiles to abstain from blood? The urge he felt was “cannibal-like”; this couldn’t have been the Lord’s doing?
Didn’t our Lord say we aren’t of the world? Didn’t he say we shouldn’t love the things of this world? Where does this boasting lead sinners to? Does boxing commend its stakeholders to righteousness?
Fury reminds me of Elijah: he would get the victory (because God would not let His name to be ridiculed) but God will rebuke him thereafter: His victory against Wilder would be like a loss when he comes face to face with God.
Don’t worry Ms. God will take care of the situation.
davidinchrist: The major mark of a true man of God is Christ-likeness: not perfect but Christ-like like Paul and other apostles of Jesus. The fact is they are very very few in the world, you will be surprised that almost or even all these popular, rich or big church pastors or founders are not like that. Cos they are not Christlike in the areas of money, popularity, politics and many other areas in their lifestyle. If you do not find a leader who is a good example of Jesus or his apostles, please stay way (Philip. 3:17-19): read the Bible, Obey and pray; seeking God for his Holy Spirit. And God will guide you to join a church if he so will. May Jesus Bless You.
paxonel: the only way to know is to read and understand the bible first, then compare! When you do that, you will discover that virtually all pastors in Nigeria are false, all of them.
Thanks. But as a new convert, it could take time before I can do the comparison. For the mean time, how can I guard against them?
MFMRevivalist: God bless you richly for this piece sir.
I wish this gets to front page.
And for the brother asking about how to know what is false and true; Try asking God for the spirit of discernment - 1 Corinthians 12:10.
Discerning spirit is a feature of the holy spirit that helps us tell between what is good and evil. It works for everything and everyone, including the question you are asking sir.
Shalom.
What is the spirit of discernment? Does a new convert have the full mastery of such a spirit?
Maximus69: Jesus never expected you to come into the gathering of his followers without someone inviting you! Matthew 10:3-15 compare to Romans 10:11-15
So the arrangement is that one of his true followers will come to pay you a visit in your home, he will preach to you and teach you what Jesus taught the group, then after you might have been convinced of what you heard and received, you'll like to join them in worship and that's when you'll be invited into their midst!
What people are practicing today is not Christianity but paganism, pagans only display their idols without any form of preaching and teaching that appeals to the heart, once you're interested in their formation of worshp, you can just pick up your clothes and join them. That's not the way with Christianity, someone must PREACH to you and TEACH you all the commandments (rules) guiding Christians as a family before you're invited into our midst! As for Pastors, every Christian in our organization is working as a pastor so it's not a title to be attached to our name, in our gathering we are all brothers and sisters, you too can qualify to encourage others with the gift of God in you if you're willing to allow God's holy spirit to work in you!
I like your responses but you haven’t answered my specific question. Your answer is perfect for the ideal case but many of us enter into a church without an invitation; what should guide us to know a false pastor upon my visit?
Jesus said none of his own followers should bear religious titles {Matthew 23:8} so anytime someone approach you and say i'm Pastor, Apostle, Evangelist, Dr, Reverend or any other title to input fear of scrutiny in your heart, know immediately that you're standing in front of a WOLF IN SHEEP CLOTHING! Matthew 7:15
What about when I step into a church for the first time, how do I recognize that the person on the pulpit isn’t a true pastor?
Eviana: Hi, I appreciate your detailed explanation. I think I understand what you were trying to say. I agree with most of it. I just wanted to get the point across that Pharoah made a choice to reject God. It's dangerous to say that God "hardened" one's heart, (although the verse literally says that in the KJV ), because that would imply that "free-will" was not even offered. That would go against God's character of being a God of mercy, impartiality and justice. Yes, He decides who He will have mercy on...however I would not compare that to someone choosing to surrender his/her life to Christ. Mercy encompasses a whole lot of things..outside of salvation in my opinion. The idea of God "hardening" one's heart against Himself is not plausible to me. That would be delving into the dangerous and false Calvinistic view of pre-destination...where only a few "elect" are destined to be eternally saved and others are destined to be eternally condemned. Sometimes, it's important to dig further for a meaning rather than take some phrases as "literal".
Good morning,
We see in the Book of Romans Paul’s expression: For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened; Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity. (Romans 1:21,24)
The tense in which the God’s sense of hardening is spoken about is the same sense as Paul’s explanation of God’s judicial action - sentencing them to the most extreme limit of the heart’s inclination against Him - judgement. Even in the original language, two words for “harden” are used; and that attributed to God agrees with Paul’s argument.
God gives the same benefit of grace to all but as the scriptures said: A man who hardens his neck after much reproof Will suddenly be broken beyond remedy (Proverbs 29:1). God reached His limit and judgment was pronounced.
(There is a limit to God’s reproof and Pharoah more than most got it in full measure - God did everything possible for his believing, but he resisted. God knows those who will believe Him but He will speak to all men about His righteousness nonetheless. God doesn’t tempt or influence any man to do evil.)
Forget whatever 1st Samuel it is that I quoted because the point of the quote, is about who directly is doing the hardening of hearts here. Have you at all, comparatively high and well enough, looked at Exodus 7:3 and 7:13, huh? In the context of Exodus 7:3 and 7:13, do you really at all, understand the distinction between "qashah" and "chazaq"?
Fyi, 1 Samuel 6:6, echoes Exodus 7:13, they, the Israelites, just like Pharaoh, by their own accord, stiffened (i.e. "chazaq'') their hearts. God did not stiff it for them. God paved the way for "chazaq'' to happen, the moment He permitted "qashah" by withdrawing His restraining Hand on their hearts. He didnt directly do any "qashah" nor personally do any "chazaq'' either.
Brother, did you think I havent envisaged you will try to bring up verses like Exodus 4:21, 7:3, 7:13, 9:12, 10:1, 10:20, 10:27, 11:10, 14:4, 14:8, hmm?
I repeat that, God indirectly hardened Pharaoh's heart and I already with the boarding school boys, have explained how this was done. Pharaoh was left to his own devices to do his worst. God, by implication of withdrawing His Hand on Pharaoh's heart hardened Pharaoh's heart. This is why I specified "divine hardening" coming into play when God stopped putting His restraining Hand on Pharaoh's heart that was preventing Pharaoh's heart from hardening up. The other one I specified was "self hardening" and this played out three times, as we see in Exodus. 8:15, 8:32 and 9:34
Brother, the scriptures are inerrant, doesnt mean translations are inerrant too, lol. Please dont tempt me to list a few blatant bible verses errors made by translators, lol.
Smh, are you for real or you're just making this up as you go along, hmm? Where from and/or who told you that there is only one question we are permitted to ask and that is "what did he mean" Pftt.
MuttleyLaff: "Why harden your hearts as the Egyptians and Pharaoh hardened theirs? When He afflicted them, did they not send the people on their way as they departed?" - 1 Samuel 6:6
Eviana, by saying Pharoah hardened his own heart is 10000% correct and no chance making a contradiction
Why are you comparing apples with oranges, hmm? Of course, Manasseh was just as badass as Pharaoh, if not more, but there was a beacon of light and/or ray of hope at the end of Manasseh's tunnel, unlike in Pharaoh's case, who was irredeemable and in collision course with the light in his tunnel that was that of a fast moving freight train
Read the following next coming, as it gets the better of your best way to explain “hardened”
Back in the day, talking of when being in dormitory at boarding school now, when two kids are raring to fight, usually a senior(s) or their mates will try to prevent them from having the fight and slugging it out. Sometimes, the senior(s) or their mates, will relent and give in because the boys are still doing "agidi and gra-gra" that they want to fight. When the principal finds out about the fight and then asks, who made them fight, the answer he usually gets is, it's the senior or the mates who did, and this because of the fact that the boys were been separated and blocked from fighting each other, but wouldn't have any of that, so the senior or their mates allowed the boys to start having the fight. So in a way, thats how it is concluded that the senior and/or their mates allowed and made the boys fight, although they, the boys in actual sense were raring to fight initially/fight as well and so to an extent were impossible to stop or prevent from having the fight.
It is similar with Pharaoh and God, just like the boys' seniors and room mates didnt per se make the boys fight, but just stepped back or aside for them to go ahead fighting, so God didnt directly harden Pharaoh's heart.
Pharaoh's heart with God's Hand on it, was like a sponge saturated with water (i.e. word of God) and so prevented for drying out and hardening, but the moment God withdrew His restraining Hand on Pharaoh's heart, Pharaoh had the freedom to do as he wish in his heart. That is how God indirectly hardened Pharaoh's heart.
We see divine hardening, as in meaning God letting Pharaoh have his way and self hardening, as in meaning, Pharaoh had his wish and way comes into play.
Hi,
On one hand you agree with me and on the other hand your disagree with me. Let’s look at the following verses:
Exo 7:3 And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and multiply my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt.
Exo 7:13 And he hardened Pharaoh's heart, that he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said.
The word “harden“ in verse 3 translated as qâshâh is different in meaning from “harden” in verse 13 translated as châzaq. Your quote from 1st Samuel is synonymous with châzaq. If we stick with the meanings which I put in parentheses when quoting Ms.Eviana, we see two different things. Many times when we suggest that any writer in the Bible is in error (He should have written this instead of that) is an affront to the Spirit of Christ. The scriptures are inerrant. The writer wrote that God hardened Pharoah’s heart and that isn’t a mistake - that is the reason I quoted Ms. Eviana. The only question we are permitted to ask is: what did he mean?
Eviana: Very well written....people misunderstand "the hardened" part. Pharoah hardened his own heart...through his repeated defiance/failure to repent from repeated warnings/signs from God through Moses. His cup finally filled up and his choice had been sealed. People always have a "choice", but there is a "cut-off" time...of which we do not know. Reminds me of King Saul.....
Hebrews 3:15 (KJV)
15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation
You said: people misunderstand the “hardened part”. With your explanation, I think many more people will continue to misunderstand because the scriptures says God hardened Pharoah’s heart but you have said Pharoah hardened his own heart - a contradiction.
When we look the scriptures we see that God is the sole source and instigator of repentance- He will have mercy on whom He will have mercy on. Didn’t we read that “the goodness of God leads to repentance”?Wasn’t Manneseh ‘more evil’ than Pharoah? yet God caused Him to repent.
The best way to explain “hardened” is to look at the interaction between fire and wax: The closer fire is to wax, the softer it gets; Jesus said, “… everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed.” (John 3:20). Yes, many of us had experienced the truth in this verse in that when we have sinned, we avoided situations (e.g., not attending worship services and/or small group meetings) where we would be reminded of our broken fellowship with God. We avoided the light that would shine on our darkness. Yet God found a way to approach us in our “waxen” state and we repented - what goodness!
But when God withdraws His presence, it can be likened to when a kindled fire is put far from wax: the wax turns stiff and remains so. God intended to save Pharoah through the messages of His prophets; and signs and wonders, but He rejected God - he hated the light so that his wickedness would not be exposed. For this, the psalmist said: But as for me, the nearness of God is my good (Psalms 73:28) - this is our boast.
The last state of Pharoah’s heart (cruelty) is a reflection of what happens when God’s withdrawal from a nation or person is in effect (Isa. 54: 8 ). So God hardened (made cruel) Pharoah’s heart and not Pharoah hardened (made impregnable) his own heart, as you said. The scripture is not wrong.
There are seven sabbaths legislated in the Torah (The Law). They are:
1. The Feast of Passover.
2. The Feast of Unleavened bread.
3. The Feast of Firstfruits. (Feast of Shavout)
4. The Feast of Weeks. Also called The Feast of Pentecost.
5. The Feast of Trumpets.
6. The Feast of Atonement.
7. The Feast of Tabernacles. Also called The Feast of Booths or The Feast of ingathering.
It was foretold in the Torah and the Prophets (in forms, shadows, symbols, and types) that someone was coming to fulfill the essence of these Sabbaths (Holy-days). The Image and reality was Christ (Col. 2:16-17).
Hebrew 12:23 says, ”You have come to the joyful gathering of God's first-born, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, who is the judge of all people, and to the spirits of good people made perfect”.
Firstfruits, “Bikkurim”, in the Hebrew language, means firstborn sons or male firstling of the herd. (According to the Torah, the firstfruits offering in the temple consisted of the male lamb and the barley loaf with a drink offering of wine).
In the Gospels, concerning the Day of the Feast of the Firstfruits and the resurrection of Christ Jesus from the grave, 1 Corinthians 15:20 says, “But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.”Christ is referred to as the Firstfruit of the dead.
According to Apostle James, being born again according to the will of our Heavenly Father through the power of the gospel makes us a kind of firstfruits God acquires for Himself. (James 1:18).
Concerning firstfruits, Dr. John MacArthur writes, “Originally an OT expression referring to the first and best harvest crops, which God expected as an offering. Giving God that initial crop was an act of faith that He would fulfill His promise of a full harvest to come (Prov. 3: 9, 10)”.
In the same way, the saints are the first evidence of God’s new creation - a sign of a glorious harvest for all creation (Romans 8:19-23). If this is true, the 144,000 of the tribes of Israel, a type of firstfruits (Revelation 14: 4), usher in a full harvest of redeemed people during the time of tribulation - the great multitude which no one could number of all nations, tribes, people and tongues in the ninth verse of the seventh chapter of the Revelation of John.
FIRSTFRUITS - THE FEAST OF SHAVOUT AND CHRIST (The Old Testament Perspective)
Genesis 4:4: And Abel brought of the firstborn of his flock and of the fat portions. And the Lord had respect and regard for Abel and for his offering.
Firstfruits, Bikkurim, in the Hebrew language, means firstborn sons or male firstling of the herd.
Abel, the son of Adam, offered the firstborn, the male firstling of his herd -the firstfruit(Genesis 4: 4). The writer of the Book of Hebrews wrote, “He offered a more excellent sacrifice”. (Hebrews 11: 4); the firstborn sacrifice of Abel was likened to sacrifice of Christ Jesus.
In the Book of Genesis, Abraham took his firstborn son, the firstfruit of promise (as Paul speaks of Isaac – Galatians 4) to the peak of Mount Moriah. On this peak, he prophesies that Jehovah would provide a lamb for Himself (Genesis 22: 8 ). Calvary, where Jesus Christ was crucified, is in the mountain range of Mount Moriah, the same area Abraham offered Isaac, his firstfruit of promise, to God.
Joseph, the firstfruit of Jacob’s favoured wife, Rachel, was given the right of the firstfruit instead of Reuben. The right, symbolized by the coat of many colours, is translated as “garment of many colours” or “coat of atonement” by some scholars
The word “cover” is used initially to describe God’s action in the Garden of Eden; when He slew an animal and used its skin to “cover” the shame of Adam and Eve. Thus, revealing God’s plan of salvation for fallen man. It is the same word used to describe the coat Hannah brought to Samuel, her firstfruit, yearly when she came to offer the annual atoning sacrifice to the Lord of Hosts at Shiloh.
On Joseph’s coat of many colours, his brothers shed the blood of a male firstling, a firstfruit of the herd on it to mimic his blood and presented it to their father, Jacob. The blood of the firstfruit that Joseph’s brothers shed on the coat typified the blood of Christ which would be shed on Calvary.
Jehovah ordained seven Holy days or Sabbath days. The third of the seven being the Feast of the firstborn sons, the Feast of Firstfruits. He established for them, the Hebrews, the principle of the firstfruits in the feast of Unleavened Bread. (Exodus 13:11-16)
The LORD spoke to Moses (Lev.23:10-12), saying, “Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, "When you enter the land which I am going to give to you and reap its harvest, then you shall bring in the sheaf of the first fruits of your harvest to the priest." He shall wave the sheaf before Jehovah for you to be accepted; on the day after the sabbath the priest shall wave it. And you shall offer on that day, when you wave the sheaf, a male lamb of the first year, without blemish, as a burnt offering before Jehovah.” (Leviticus 23: 10 says, “The sheaf of the firstfruit is presented to the priest who raises it up in the presence of the congregation”.)
This “raising up” of the sheaf before the congregation typified the resurrection of Christ Jesus on the seventh day of the first month of the Jewish calendar - the day of the Feast of the firstfruit. On this day, Christ Jesus rose up from the grave; it was the very same day Noah’s ark was lifted to the height of Mount Ararat (above the death beneath).
The twelfth and thirteenth verses of Leviticus 23 says, ”a firstling of the flock without blemish is offered and oil is poured on its meat“. Oil in the Old-Testament did not only refer to the sanctification of a thing or person, it also referred to conferment of nobility to such a one anointed. This mingling of oil on the firstborn lamb finds its reality in Christ Jesus. Therefore, the writer of Hebrews wrote, ”Therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows” (Hebrews 1: 9).
Therefore, Christ Jesus is the firstfruit of the flock: He said, ”Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abides alone: but if it die, it brings forth much fruit”. (John 12:24). Jesus was that corn of wheat which planted His life in the earth to bring forth an abundant harvest - those who are consecrated in Him, the fats of Abel’s sacrifice.
(The Promise of God was fulfilled – God provided His own firstborn, His first fruit, His firstling, His lamb, as an atoning sacrifice for the sins of all men. This is all that the firstfruits sacrifice was - a sacrifice of atonement with God. The acceptance of Abel (Gen. 4:7) and the Children of Israel (Lev. 23:10-11) were in the offering of the Firstfruit. To the glory of God, all saints are accepted in the offering of Christ (Eph.1:6-7))
The next day, John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! (John 1:29)
An ungrateful heart is always a covetous heart. I think you should resign - you will never give your best. People would see your countenance everyday and know something is off. Your heart is not right. You do not only accuse your employer of deceit but you accuse God of being unmerciful. If you don’t resign, you will be sacked if your heart remains this way.
solite3: you said without restitution salvation can not be perfect, and also restitution is neccesary. neither Jesus nor the apostles taught that restitution is neccesary to perfect salvation.
Salvation provided by Christ is already perfect.
Yes indeed restitution is a fruit of true repentance, that means repentance is not a requirement but an evidence that one has turned to God. Any man who has truly repented will have an urge to do restitution, which is the evidence itself. Restitution simply means restoring things taken fraudulently. While it is encouraged as much as possible, but the salvation of belivers does not depend on restitution but on christ finished work on the cross.
annyplenty: I am not preaching heresy brother. Read your bible very well.
If a woman knew before she became born again that one of the children she calls her husband own does not belong to the husband but kept the secret and now she is born again will she not open up and return the child to the right owner? That is restitution. Being born again does not cancel that one.
If you came to my house on monday and stole my phone but on tuesday you become born again, are you going to continue to use the phone and not return it to me? That is restitution?
Because many pastor today are not talking about does not mean bible does not support it?
Besides, does Jesus not say that you should let your righteousness surpass that of the pharissee?
Did Jesus not say he that is righteous, let him be righteous still?
Your heart is set on preaching heresy, continue. If you ever cheated in secondary school and university (if you went to one) but have a certificate from the institutions; report yourself to the Police and be ready to be charged. Show everyone that your salvation is by works.
