sircrabo:I agree with you. Rwanda earlier this year passed into law that all churches should be guided by a certified graduate of a registered seminary with a view of protecting their citizens from perversion and preventing another war (since the last one was precipitated by a pastor). Funny enough, their economy has skyrocketed since that move. Apostle Peter wrote that the gospel is perverted by untrained men. It takes patience and education to understand the scriptures; punctuation marks seem to be more important than every word in what I have found out; without understanding the functions of these marks and the rules of grammar, the only result will be a disastrous misinterpretation of the scriptures. I feel sorry for many people when I visit their churches and the pastor has no clue of what the gospel is about or even the English Grammer; and he ends up mutilating the intention of the writer of the book. It’s really sad and the most vocal Christians in Nigeria today are the uneducated (under a reputable seminary). The damage is so much. |
englishmart:You didn’t answer the part of ‘what your value in the universe is?’ Let me tell you what your value is: on your street, you are a nobody; on your job, you are tool; in your country, you are nameless; in your family, your value isn’t worth much; amongst your friends, when life turns on you, you don’t exist. The only person that makes you seem like something is God; and you want to turn your back on Him? And to Him as well, you are nothing yet He acknowledges you. Jesus Christ was called the Son of God and sometimes, the Son of David. The word “Son” means “(Just) like”. But the title that interests me now is, Son of David, Just like David. David made a promise to Jonathan. He fulfilled that promise in his son, Mephibosheth. Mephibosheth lived in a desert-like place like Saudi Arabia. Due of the promise made, David searched out that boy in a desert-like place where there were no roads or means of communication. Just like David, so is Christ: He has made a promise to save even to the most remote places. The Christian scriptures show that Christ, the Son of God, reaches people through the following means: 1. Conscience. 2. Dreams. 3. Preaching done by men. 4. Preaching done by angels. 5. Nature. 6. Pointers from sundry religions. Etc. I have lived for quite a while and what I have noticed is: many people have dreams of terrifying masquerades chasing them. One thing I have seen to be common to those who have such dreams are these questions: what should I do for these dreams to stop? Who will save me from these masquerades so that I don’t see them again in my dreams? These dreams drive them to search for a savior. The Book of Romans says that God has implanted something in all men that they may search for Him. What He has implanted in them makes them to question their communal way of life, history, environment and religious affiliations, so that a man can know God for Himself. Their search for Him doesn’t have anything to do with being a Christian but has everything to do with meeting God and being at peace (with Him). God starts this search, and He definitely has set the end of that searching process. Remember that those wise men (Magi) weren’t Christians yet they came to worship Christ after they were led by a Star. (Magi are star-gazers just as Muslims gaze at the moon). God can not be limited by a building or community; only the heart can contain Him, yet the heart is not big enough. God called all men to Christ and not religion. He is not unjust to let people be born in anti-Christ neighborhoods without creating a perfect way to save them in Christ. Know God for yourself. Read the scriptures and delight yourself in every word that came out of the mouth of Christ alone. |
You seem not to have read the Bible cover-to-cover. It is very glaring right from the first pages of the Bible that Children of God suffer. You should read Psalms 73 to see what we, the children of God, go through when we see the wicked enjoying while we suffer. From what I insinuated earlier, you read the Christian scriptures sparingly but you sound like you know the word of God page to page (but it has disappointed you). Suffering achieves two things for the children of God: 1. To expunge the love of sin in us. This is when suffering comes as judgement (discipline). 2. To bring out the nature God made us for. (This is what many call the Gethsemane experience. Gethsemane means Garden of pressing. (There was an oil press factory in that garden)). The two points seem like the same except that point two makes the Child of God become helpless and makes his total hope to be on God. Our old, unreformed, nature is hostile to God. After becoming saved, that nature still lingers. God uses suffering to remove that nature and leaves us with the pure nature he made us in - the nature of Christ. |
Mark 9:7 Then a cloud formed, overshadowing them, and a voice came out of the cloud, "This is My beloved Son, listen to (only) Him!" This is one of the most important verses in the Christian scriptures. The Father expressly told the apostles not to pay attention to the words of Moses or that of Elijah. If you have read the Holy Bible up to this point, your natural reaction will be to “delete” every word of Moses and the sections concerning Elijah in your Bible. Moses himself had stated that a greater prophet than him will come whom the people should listen to. Every contradiction that you think exists in the Bible exists when you juxtapose what men said with what God Himself said. Today, we lay a lot of emphasis on Moses’ words and actions that we face a lot of spiritual anxiety. Instead of vilifying Elijah’s bloodletting, we glorify his heinous act. Does God exist? Checkout your fingerprint login on your phone; no one in this world of over 4 billion people can have access to your phone except you - that is some excellent design there if you would think about it. The God of Heaven is a sovereign God; He does as He wishes and because He is excellent, He does all things well and knows all things well. Prayer is not a “genie-effect”. If someone who is mightier than you and knows more than you is before you; and you could make a request before such a one, your words will be with exquisite submission. But you have not recognized the true God’s character. Finally, I’d like to ask: what is your value in the universe? |
Lukenitheooo6:Not so. Many Pentecostal churches preach against Christmas too. Muslims who used to eat “Christmas” food from Christian neighbours have stopped eating because many Pentecostal churches teach that Sallah meat is offered to idols; and many have lost their destiny because of Sallah meat. Many Christians (Inspired by this teaching) outrightly reject their food at their doors or throw their gifts into the dustbin. It is also offensive to raise chickens in a compound where other families stay. The Neighbour May have seen the gift as a bribe (Rather than a sincere gift) to keep bearing with the offensive odour from the chickens. (The Neighbour is a coward though). |
Butterscotch92:Don’t beat yourself. But all you have said about your emotional low and your attempt to get back to you BF seems to flow from a weakness you may have: you seem not to know how to handle loneliness. Guys who forgive (unconditionally) a cheating girlfriend are rare. When some do, it means they have found someone else or they have given up on their girlfriends. Cheating brings up every negative he tolerated from you to his face and all he sees is a very imperfect companion. However, live your life. Maybe in a few month’s time, he may see you and change his mindset. Don’t sweat it. Leave him alone. |
I’m not omniscient but I’ll tell you what I have noticed about ladies with multiple piercings, tattoo etc. the have self-control deficiency: I mean that they are easily irritated, violent tendencies, passively aggressive, act on their impulse very easily and they tend to be comfortable controlling. They would do many things without seeking your opinion: they aren’t conservative. You don’t have to dump her because of those things; but you would have to be very patient with her and not rush into marrying her. If your relationship has been “physically” oriented, it is time to stop and begin to talk (teach) patiently - it will take time. Good luck |
drlateeph:I think the headline is misleading. He said he combined many results from NeCO, SScE, GCE, etc. to get an admission. He may have done some of those examinations many times (seventeen attempts in total) but not SSCE seventeen times. |
thundafire:You have no home training. Are you a bus driver or taxi driver? |
Anfieldboss:Sir, what is the meaning of “deforestation” (where humans are the agent of deforestation)? Is it when the big trees are felled or when the soil is poisoned so that trees wouldn’t grow? |
alBHAGDADI:You are not writing from the Spirit of Christ and this your response shows that He is not in you. |
PasD:You could have done a comprehensive car insurance. You wouldn’t have had this headache |
damble:Nigerians are afraid of anything that doesn’t sound like Honda or Toyota; that’s why I said you would almost never find anyone that will buy it. Jiji.g will give you an idea of the prevailing prices of those cars. The highlander 2012 is more expensive, of course. The internet has made it easy to get cars and their parts and the fear Nigerians have for other car models are unfounded, sometimes. We don’t research or try new things; therefore, we are stuck. Why would someone buy a Toyota Corolla (used for Taxify) when it is an easy prey for thieves? The bias for its fuel economy against comfort, longevity and overall driving experience is baffling. Good night brother |
damble:I use a RX350 and it has amazing movement and handling. If I were to recommend a car “no-holds-barred” - fair road, just enough money in the bank, I would recommend the following: 1. Jaguar XJ8 2007. (Not Vanden Plas) 2. RX350 2006-2010 3. Highlander 2012 These are the cars I have fair knowledge of. I could have put a 2008 RAV4 but I hate the paint work on all Toyota cars - it is terrible; and its suspension isn’t great. Of those three, the XJ is a car you would never like to sell. If you decide to sell, you would almost never get someone to buy it. |
fairfora:It’s scabies. Buy Benzyl Benzoate (300 naira) for her. Let her apply it from her neck to her toes (for 5 days). Warn her not to apply it around any opening around her reproductive area. She can use tetmosol to bathe as well. She should wash most of her clothes and bed sheet in very warm water. If she has cloth-type chairs at home, she should spray all with insecticides. |
damble:If you are thinking of buying car and feel deep down you that you would sell it in a few year’s time, a Toyota is a no-brainer. We are Toyota-biased here. With regards to parts, you would find almost all parts in Ladipo. If you are very good with the use of the internet, eBay is fantastic. You can import them from eBay and may get it cheaper than what those guys at Ladipo offer. Then you would have to know the name of the part and it’s number. |
damble:It is a nice car but it has the following issues in my opinion: 1. Very Very poor fuel economy 2. The HMI on the dashboard is very sensitive to heat. You would need a spare one when it eventually blanks out. 3. The leather quality is quite poor. 4. Driver’s seat is not really comfortable. If you can deal with these, then you are good to go. Be warned that it’s second value is almost none existent here in Nigeria. So you would have to take care of it in order to have a good chance of selling it; but it doesn’t sell quickly. |
3rdavefarms:That verse - money answers all things, is a negative verse. It was used to describe the actions of the foolish king who in contrast with wise king who uses wisdom to answer all things. |
Lovelyn451:If you can’t remember what he did wrong, that means you did something wrong - that you can remember |
I had arthritis at the age of 16. My knee cracked. Sometimes it felt like someone used a hammer to bang it from inside. Surgery was suggested as a quick way out. The other option was physiotherapy. I took the later option. I feel better now more than two decades later. Knee hurts a bit after being stressed by sports and excessive walking. The hot sensation seems to be a nerve problem. One of my closest friends who has problems with his foot feels that from time to time and drugs ameliorate the pains. Don’t complicate issues because you don’t understand. Take her to a good physician and pray while she undergoes treatment. Most of the time, taking people to a church rather than a hospital is the fastest way to kill them. God gave extensive knowledge for healing to doctors; don’t neglect medical attention. |
Lovelyn451:Everyone is worried about you and you are silent. Where are you? |
Very educative |
mrvitalis:He is not a Christian |
Lovelyn451:Where are you? |
OluwasureGig:You actually need to earn a monthly wage of 350k to live very comfortably (if you have wife that doesn’t have a job and you have two children and a parent) |
Lovelyn451:Did you get my email? |
Lovelyn451:Give me your email address, please? |
Lovelyn451:I’ll give you feedback on this - good or not so good. |
Lovelyn451:I’d ask about Kano from my colleague. First, what did you study in the university? |
Lovelyn451: Acehart:What do you think? |
Lovelyn451:Hmm. I’d have to ask a colleague if there is a marketing opening for Kano State. (I work in Lagos). If you are interested in working in Lagos, I could arrange for a HR position interview but you would need to have the basic HR practicing qualifications. |
