FamilyRe: Why Do Some Nigerians Love Wasting Water? by Acidosis(m): 1:12pm On Oct 17, 2023
MasterJayJay:
If Nigeria has 60,000 megawatts on the grid 24/7 and all customers are on prepaid, most customers will manage how they consume power. They will prefer to use gas to cook and not electric stove. They will discard 100 watts bulb and fix 6 watts, 10 watts. If the landlord starts a seperate water billing according to the liters of water each flat consumes, I am pretty sure most won't spend 40 minutes under a running shower.
If? Well, "if" the landlord has a modern soakaway that never gets filled up with water, this thread would never have existed.
FamilyRe: Why Do Some Nigerians Love Wasting Water? by Acidosis(m): 12:11pm On Oct 17, 2023
MasterJayJay:
My analogy is about majority. Do a survey, you belong to the minority.
You don't use a minority experience as a case study. Most on prepaid turn off many things.
It is the government that should provide water. A landlord will protect his property if the facility is at risk because of carelessness of tenants. If they think they are prisoners, let them find another house.
Okay. Great. The reason you don't enjoy 24/7 light in your apartment is because majority of Nigerians waste electricity, yeah??
FamilyRe: Why Do Some Nigerians Love Wasting Water? by Acidosis(m): 11:18am On Oct 17, 2023
MasterJayJay:
Your analogy doesn't fit. People on estimated billing waste electricity, those on prepaid will switch off lights in the morning. It has nothing to do with scarcity. Tenant that decides to sleep with a dirty body is lazy.
I'm on prepaid billing. I don't switch off my light. I'm spending my money. You can't complain on my behalf.

By the way, people on estimated billing pay more on electricity (you can argue but facts remain facts). Hence, they deserve to do whatever they want with their light. They are the only group of Nigerians paying for what they don't use. If you don't like the fact that they "waste" electricity, then go and get them metres. That's what sane people do, not switch off light or water because people "waste" it.
FamilyRe: Why Do Some Nigerians Love Wasting Water? by Acidosis(m): 10:20am On Oct 17, 2023
MasterJayJay:
If it is obvious, why didn't the soakaway get filled after all the tenants were disconnected from the water supply?
It is common sense. Do you use your generator/fuel the same way you apply the regular electricity? The fact that most people would not power their ACs, water heater, or freezers with a 2kva generator do not mean that they waste electricity when they power same appliances with the regular electricity.

Scarcity makes you cut down on things that matter. People who typically have to take their bath whenever they return from work at night would have to go to bed dirty without bath because of the wicked landlord.

The landlord should get a plumber to refurbish his apartment. By the way, "soakaways" now belong to the 20th century. New generation builders have abandoned that concept. The new generation "soakaways" do not get filled up because people waste water. It is impossible.
FamilyRe: Which Kind Life Be This? by Acidosis(m): 9:57am On Oct 17, 2023
You can learn plumbing in 2-3 months.

2. Using water: Years ago, a landlord within the neighborhood came to meet my Dad. He complained that his soakaway is always filled. My Dad asked him if he connected water to all tenants and he said yes. My Dad advised him to disconnect all pipes to tenants apartment. Let all of them go down within the compound to fetch water.
That was how the problem was solved.
The tenants can no longer waste water because they saw how much effort they put it to carry 25-30 litres up to 3 storey building.
The landlord is cr.azy. Your dad gave a very terrible advice. Don't say this elsewhere, please.

Your dad could not ask him the size of his so called soakaway for a 3 storey? The only advice he could give was to disconnect water like his tenants were prisoners??

It is obvious the cra.zy landlord constructed a tiny soakaway for his 3 storey barrack with 50 "sef-con."

I have always seen and read your stance on issues.

Most times very hard and tough. Always holding your end and views strongly.

Most of which I agree with and resonates with me.

So seeing you cry made me feel so bad and I felt " oh see what you have done now" grin

About Jesus that's one view you have shared that I don't agree with. I am not religious.

But that doesn't mean anything.

I am still a big fan.

Manage my writing grin

I am not a good writer grin
cheesy cheesy

My views can be quite tough and hard indeed, but I remain open-minded on many issues (not with God matters sha 😄).

No worries about those tears; after all, men cry too 😄 You know I never imagined you held such beliefs about Jesus (or God), but it's all good. Everyone is entitled to their own perspective.

Do you have a burner account? I feel like I recognise you from somewhere else on this forum.

And most have more than 3 personnel?

Now redo yhur maths...
How many civil defence personnel do we have in Nigeria?

How many secondary schools do we have in Nigeria?

How many primary schools do we have in Nigeria?

How many tertiary schools do we have in Nigeria?

Statistics will end this argument.

Poor journalism.

Private schools in Nigeria outnumber NSCDC's total workforce. So you've got to be specific.

Christianity EtcRe: Nigeria Is 2nd Most Prayerful Country On Earth by Acidosis(m): 8:56pm On Oct 15, 2023
And who says the purpose of prayer is to make you or your nation rich??

This is obviously one of the many deceits of the devil: to make you believe that God and His kingdom is about earthly/worldly inheritance. Satan rules and controls the earth. So if earthly treasures are your metrics for measuring God's faithfulness, then you are the most delud..ed person ever liveth.

If your purpose in life and afterlife is to have money, please draw closer to Satan. Your chances are higher with him. It only takes invading a few countries, enslaving the people, and stealing their gold and other resources.
