EfemenaXY: This story gets more and more intriguing. So the other family were okay to give back the son to the real parents but not bothered to collect their daughter? Why? And wasn't the boy equally attached to them, just as their daughter was attached to the other family? Didn't you read the story? They said they already had 4 girls already. That is why the woman went the devilish length to "steal" someone else's boy. If the drill the man very well, I won't be surprised if he conspired with his wife. Those asking about scan, don't forget they always tell you it isn't 100 guaranteed. By the way, the joy of having given birth to a healthy child will vanish such irrelevant thoughts such as gender, looks, scan result and the rest. |

Wendy80: DNA test.. hmmm very sensitive issue oh. A couple in my neighbourhood with 3 kids(2boys a girl) had a big fight last year. The man was just shouting that child isn't mine, take her away, so u have been sleeping around. His wife was crying n begging trying to prove her innocence. We later heard he did a dna on them and discovered d girl isn't his. They are 7, 4 and 2years and d girl is d last. The woman been so sure of herself went back to the hospital she had her. She said it's either d dna lied or the hospital has questions to ans. She involve the police and a Lawyer when d hospital was proving difficult. The doctor and Nurses on duty dat day were all arrested(2 of dem were no longer working but they were picked up all d same). With d hospital record they contacted all those who had babies same day. When d arrested staff weren't coming forth with anythn to help the woman after much questioning, she begged for a dna on d other babies(7 of them) Omo see revelation. To cut long story short, 2 babies were exchanged at birth, a woman have 4girls already and she birthed d 5th one dat day, afraid of her husband's wrath, she liaised with 2nurses to exchanged for a baby boy and paid heavily. That's how they caused problem for another family oh.
Gist too long Abeg but my neighbours came 2geda again after plenty begging oh. SPEECHLESS!!! And some people will still say DNA isn't compulsory. This is even a better excuse to give. Man will be like "Honey, we sure need to do a DNA test to be sure those greedy nurses didn't exchange our Micheal Obama for a Patience Jonathan." A lot, and I meant a lot do happen on the surface of this earth. Na who life show to get mouth talk. |

No right thinking man will openly confront his wife with a DNA test to be carried out on their child(ren). Except the woman has proven to be promiscuous in the past.
That's why fathers should form a strong bond with their children, whereby a man will claim to want to have a father/child moment alone in an eatery or wherever but can successfully take that child to carry out a test without his wife or anyone suspecting.
Only after any man have confirmed the supposed children his wife gave him are actually his before he should wholeheartedly include the children in his will. Except of course he just wants to do charity.
Traditional Rulers, Entertainers, Business Tycoons, and Politicians are usually the ones that end up with the most "bas*tards" because every woman will do anything to ensure her children are well taken care of.
Only a handful of poor men get to be given children that aren't there's.
If need be, i will share my personal experience concerning this issue so that people can learn from it. |

Any man who refuses to do a DNA test for all is "supposed" children is like a man who is keeping his life savings with a conman all because the conman attends church.
With the rate of immorality and lack of conscience in the land, I will advice every reasonable man to carry out a DNA test latest when the child is 6 months.
This isn't about lack of trust, it only means the man is wise.
Imagine a man thinking he has 4 children only to find out only one is his (the 3rd child). Whereas he got married to the woman because she claimed she was pregnant for him.
Too many real life stories to even start sharing right now.
Use the likes of MKO, Fela, Femi Kuti and so many others as example. If you want to justify it that these ones like women, what of the millions out there who don't but have used their life savings training and catering for another man's child.
A friend's elder brother was disqualified from the US visa lottery after the test proved that one out of his three kids wasn't his. That thought led to the stroke that eventually killed him.
Some men are Deceitful but those same men are learners where some women are. |

Dolarman: I am glad you spoke my mind. People can be so clueless with the believe that only lazy people in Lagos are unemployed. There re millions of unemployed Graduates in Lagos with very good grades ranging from Second Class Lower - First class, bt the actual fact is that such people will not stup so low to start a living with any thing less than 30k a month or start an Okirika business nor fry beans cake (Akara) to survive, because their expections are high before they graduated. Those that bleep all those low life businesses are those who dropped out of school or had low grades like Third Class or Pass that knew their relevance is estreemly low and have no choice than to anything without class or taste. As for me, I will rather stay out of work and build a better portfolio till I get a Job that will give me dinity and satisfaction than to do a job that will give me money without integrity and satisfaction. Job satisfaction and pleasure matters, not even the MONEY. And some people are still wondering how come people who finished school with 3rd class, pass, drop outs, and total illiterates end up employing 1st class and 2:1 holders. This is the reason staring you all in the face. |

XketchDesigns: I do 3d design cz that's in the line of what I studied in sko. It's what i have passion for. I went to school knowing what I want to achieve and what I want out of life, not just going to sko because I wanted a certificate!
My question is why go to school to study microbiology and end up selling ankara? If you truly wanted to do business, why not go into business management or something and be more sophisticated with your offerings rather than doing the same thing someone with primary school certificate is doing?? What is the use of the education?? It only shows lack of planning and not knowing what you want in life, taking chances and hoping to hit gold rather than having a laid out plan to achieving your goal.
If you want to sell akara, go to catering school and learn catering and be a professional at that. Map out ur plans to serve presidents.
So in this line u can start small, even on the street. This is reasonable. But why study medicine and then sell akara and pure water! That's wasted time, resources and effort on the education. Oh Jeez!!! I understand where you are coming from but unfortunately you are ABSOLUTELY WRONG. I will mention at least the top 5 CEO's each in the Oil & Gas, Marine, Advertising, Insurance, Security, and Hospitality business who all did not study anything relating to what they do now (60% of them NEVER went to the University) which has either taken them to Forbe's list or at least have been recognized by CNBC Africa (hope you know what that means). Education is only a leverage, you have to be STREET SMART with a High level Hustling spirit to make it out there in that Jungle called life. Once a man decides to drop his Pride and Picks up the Hard working spirit, Success is surely guaranteed. It might take a while but the darkness in the tunnel will certainly be a thing of history sooner than later. These are secrets if majority of our youths knew they will damn the government and even family dependence and go out to claim the Success God has destined for them. IF I KNEW 15YEARS AGO WHAT I KNOW NOW, I DEFINITELY WOULDNT HAVE STEPPED MY FEET IN THE FOUR WALLS OF THE UNIVERSITY NOT TO TALK OF FURTHERING. |

Why not go and pick up a job in Insight Communications, DDB and other big firms? This is the reason why most illiterates end up being far richer than the so called "well read" individuals. A situation where a professor is a tenant to a woman who has sold akara by the road side all her life and have used her earning to train her children through the university. Guy, I know businesses one can do and make at least N100,000 in a month without having a university certificate. Companies and even rich individuals will be begging for your service. Someone mentioned installing DSTV and you shut him down. Just yesterday (MONDAY) a guy came as early as 8am to just reconnect my dstv cable in my room as it wasn't picking signal from the living room. I paid this guy N3,000 for less than a 10mins job. Guess what? While at my place he got 2 other calls from clients to come over to fix one thing or the other. Lets assume he made a total of N7,000 yesterday, even if he doesn't make any other thing till next week, give or take at the end of the month, this same guy you are laughing at because of the nature of his job is making at least N28,000/ month which of course I know is way more than that. Is he not better than those who just sit at home and eat free food and even beg for as little as N100 to recharge their phone? sealit: This thread highlights the reasons why a lot of Nigerian youths struggle to make it in life
I have read the posts of both the accused employer and the disgruntled employee (s) and I have come to one conclusion- It is a huge task to be an entrepreneur in Nigeria.
Not only do you face a challenging business environment but you also have to deal with stubborn under achievers who have an inordinate sense of entitlement.
The OP has been making noise on Nairaland and it is quite pathetic that the site has given him/her to platform to discredit the business that has placed adverts on Nairaland without conducting an internal investigation before putting it on the FP. Shambolic behavior from NL
The owner of this site is an entrepreneur and he obviously knows that it is impossible to satisfy all employees and users all the time. People will complain about anything and everything immediately they feel they are not getting their way. What the admin of this site usually does is to hide posts and threads that castigate his handling of the site.
It is very interesting that he has given people the opportunity to do the same about other businesses without any consultation or deliberations on the the surrounding and exact facts. This is all to attract viewership and promote his own business. That might work for him now but in the long term, it will cost him business and patronage.
If I was a business owner, this thread will tell me that it is not advisable to put up an advert on a site that has major reporting and communication issues.
Anybody can make claims but it is only reasonable to determine the credibility of the accusations before negatively publicizing it.
@ OP
What businesses have you started in your life?
