JideTheBlogger: yes, Ogidi is a nice location for that kind of project. Can't wait.
Thank u my brother. Are u an Ogidi Inwelle?

Indeed Ogidi is the perfect location for the stadium. It is one of the few towns in Anambra where two expressway passed through. It is highly accessible. It is home to the burstling building materials market. The town that produced Prof. Chinua Achebe and other notable individuals.

The stadium will be located at the back of building materials market. That's where the old stadium used to be. With the ongoing Enugu-Osha reconstruction project, I have no doubt that Gov. Obi made a wise decision on the location of the project.

Ogidi people are football crazy. If you add it to the love of football that Anambra people has for football, then u will know that Gov. Obi put his money where his mouth is. Since this will generate tremendous revenue for the state government. Add to the local economy. Create an untold employment opportunities for the people of the area.

Anambra people especially Onitsha marketers are football crazy. I remember how we used to rush to Rojenny stadium, Oba to watch Jasper, Udoji, Garbros play. The stadium is always filled to its capacity. Again the location of the stadium is perfect since Ogidi is densely populated. In close proximity to Onitsha, Obosi, Nkpor, Amawbia and Awka. Moreover, Anambra deserves an International stadium that is located away from the administrative, commercial and technology capitals. By this stride, Anambra will effectively create a sports capital too. Thumbs up to Gov. Obi for this giant stride.
SportsRe: FIFA, Anambra Govt. To Build International Stadium by ACM10: 1:10pm On Aug 17, 2012
GAR3TH: Complete waste of funds and misplaced priorities. I still dont understand why these people build stadiums that no one can even afford to watch, just look at NPL matches. When the bulk of Anambra is yet to see any sign of development the state government will rather waste billions on a stadium. Pathetic

Katsumoto: The Biafrans on Nairaland are a joke.

Can't respond to simple challenges

Hate Yoruba folks, call them names; laugh at Yorubaland displaying pictures of ancient but dilapitated cities but still continue to troop to the west like Isrealis looking for the promised land. If you hate Yoruba folks so much, why don't you avoid it like a plague? There are airports and seaports in the East.

Believe that Max Siollun and Nowa Omoigui are hack writers/historians but Femi Fani-Kayode, a junkie, is a credible historian.

Believe that Awo made a pact with them but can't point to where and when that pact was made.

Don't understand the use of conditional clauses

They seized on Fani-Kayode's write-up without requesting evidence but as soon as Kats presents evidence of Biafran tomfoolery in war, Ojukwu charging landing fees to charities delivering free food to starving Biafrans, and questions the noisy and boastful Biafrans about their perceived bravery, they resort to emotional blackmail, crying like little biatches, insults.

Well I got news for you folks, I am not here to make friends; I am here to set the records straight. You are free to carry on with the distracting tactics and irrelevant points.

If dont start something, there aint going to be nothing.
Calm down bro. You debate with so much emotion. I'm disappointed by your outburst. What happened to your Mr. Cool persona? You failed to understand that the two can play the game. We can't sit idly while u distort history. Sorry if u are hurting. But we must do what is necessary

6. Baba Omojola
7. Segun Maiyegun

grin grin grin grin
Dede i ga egbukwa mmadu. Why u go dey chase the guy around like this. Dede take your time o. No spoil business for the copy and paste artist.

Look, pal, Max is a good historian and will tell you he does not have the ability to predict what Ojukwu knew or did not know or the outcome of war before it started. It is beyond pale of reasonable imagination for a mere mortal to predict the outcome of a war.

I guess it is a crass display of irresponsibility for anyone to insinuate that Ojukwu knew what the outcome of Nigeria/Biafra civil war shall become. It is even a brazen display of idiocy for anyone to insinuate that it was remotely cited in the dailies of the two countries that Biafra will not win the war. If Biafra had no chance of winning the war, British Prime Minister would have gone to sleep, USSR would not mind flooding Apapa Wharf with weapons, countries such as Egypt, Niger, Chad, Cameroon, Australia, UAL would have shun the war and most combatants on Nigerian side of the war would not have granted series of interviews indicating the result could have gone to either side.
Certain research paper that I bumped on sometimes ago shows that genius use only 13% of their brain ability. But I wonder if an average Nigerian use up to 0.5% of his brain ability. That's why Katsumoto can make any bogus assertion without someone asking him pertinent questions. Nigerians tends to allow few people to do the thinking for them. Nobody is willing to put his brain power to use. Maybe, it's due to tribalism-induced bias. So pathetic.

I finds fault in virtually all claims made by that folk. It is either half-truth, exaggeration or outright lie. He does it in such a sensational manner that his intellectually lazy followers swallows it hook, line and sinker. SMDH

Dede1: I thought you have renounced the habit of “copy and paste” senseless falsehood from obscure journals. What was the bone of contention during the 1957 truncated constitutional conference and how was the conflict resolved when it resumed?
Oh Dede, you bothered to respond to Katsumoto's hogwash of an article? I'm past caring. He will simply overwhelm you with falsehoods, half-truths and exaggerations that u wont know where to start to issue rebuttals. The most annoying part of it is that casual observers cannot be able to differentiate "facts" from his "fiction". He is ever ready to overwhelm you with articles from from hack writers. Even when he cannot produce evidence of his wild assertions. He will continue to repeat it 1000 times. That's why I labelled it "goebbelian lies". The guy is simply a propagandist. I used to believe his sensational lies till I took to books. Seriously, I've lost respect for the guy.

Seriously, some girls don't know the dividing line between love and infatuation. Some young girls(even older ones) are so far gone in their fantasyland that they regards crush as love. That's why u see couples fall in and out of love the way painists changes musical notes. The word love is the most abused word in a relationship. Pls love grows with time. You can't fall in love on the first date except u are an insecure type. Anyone that tells u 'I love u' after the first day of dating is a playa. Pls what we experienced in secondary school is youthful infatuation and crush. It is due to the outburst of seconday sexual hormones. Of which our brains are not yet matured enough to cope with. It is not love. If it is love, how many of them eventually leads to permanent union? undecided

Eziachi: June 12 was just an election, not a war and Abiola bolted to England before being dragged home, which he regretted- fact.
Every Yoruba elite except those on Abacha's payroll like Adedibu/Arisokola Aloa all bolted into exile just because of one man Abacha, there was no war. Fact
Your annoyance with Ojukwu is simple: You wanted him as a war trophy and never get over it when it didn't happen- Fact
.Whether you roasted and ate 10 million Igbos, Annang, Efik, Ibibio and some Ijaw is not the main topic of this thread.- Fact

Whether Ojukwu dressed as Miss Nigeria is not the issue and how crying General Diya wished he has the chance to dress like Jankara market women to escape than the humiliation of kneeling before goggled Abacha begging for his life.

The issue is this, your son of the soil just came out smoking against your norther former lovers and told the world how your emperor sold his conscience for a mere promised of being made the best president we never had.
That is the issue and stop talking about irrelevant things. Next time the word bolted gets you excited, always remember that you had enough bolters among you kins to fill a jumbo jet just because of one northern soldier called Sani ABACHA and his sidekick Al Mustapha.
At the heat of apartheid, freedom fighting icons like Mbeki Srn, Oliver Tambo all bolted and according to you, they are all wicked because they refused to be presented in plate to their enemies. Tinubu, Soyinka all bolted until Abacha died.
Chei! Pa Eziachi, you kept it succinct and to the point. This is a perfect e-beatdown. No one could have wrote it better. I owe u a keg of palmwine and nkwobi. grin

Name one of the agencies and lets contact them.

Ikemba was a custodian of the greatest wealth by then for an African, you knew that and I knew that. Start dealing with the main issue of the thread raised by your brother Kayode, you are now denying because he said what not supposed to be said and here you are derailing the thread with irrelevant Iddo motor park historical theory.
Pa Eziachi, I tire for the man o. I challenged him to provide any concrete evidence that Biafran charged landing fees on the aid agencies by providing the account of the aid agencies involved. But he kept dancing around and repeating the same silly assertion shamelessly.

I guess he's playing to the gallery. Trying to impress his followers. I've remarked many times that most posters here do not know the accurate account of history. Therefore cannot separate fact from fiction. I SMH for people who praise his sensational lies.

The level of ignorance in this country is embarrassing
PoliticsRe: Fani-Kayode: Yorubas Won The Civil War For Nigeria by ACM10: 9:26pm On Aug 14, 2012
Katsumoto: Why must you continue to expose your ignorance?

The Yoruba have been fighting wars since the 13th century.

They have fought wars with the Nupes
They fought and conquered dahomey
They fought and conquered Togo
They defeated the Ashanti at Atakpame in 1761
They Yoruba fought many internal wars with the last war lasting for 16 years
They (Ibadan) defeated the Fulani at Oshogbo (1840) in the last battle between the sides

The battles the Yoruba fought over the last 600 years made them more diplomatic and astute militarily.

When the Yoruba were fighting wars using one of the most organized cavalries in Africa, Ndigbo were still settling inter-village disputes through wrestling contests. No kidding; if you dispute this, then please share your war stories.

Soon Dede1 will come to tell us about a phantom battle with the Fulani in which Ndigbo defeated the Fulani. grin

If someone claims you did something as eventful as ordering an invasion, then you MUST respond to it, if its not true. Ojukwu granted many interviews, never addressed that letter preferring to lie about freeing Awo from prison.
You expect Ojukwu to have all the time in the world to respond to your barrage of lies? Which leader goes about responding to all the lies peddled against him? Something must be fundamentally wrong with u.

fstranger9: You are a lying biatch lying through her lying little Oil and gas teeth. The thread was all about how he doesnt see it fit to give you money for wash and set. The thread started off with him working in a bank because you wanted us to know he has money, no? Then you said you are doing better than him financially. What is that supposed to mean? Keep lying to yourself. You know what's worse than clueless? Clueless and oblivious. Anyway, the good thing is: The most successful marriages are based on lies. You are well on your way.

There's an evolutionary imperative why we give money to our family and friends. And there's an evolutionary imperative why we don't give a crap about anybody else. If he gave every woman that comes into his life 'salon money' indiscriminately, he couldn't function.

So this is the only guy in your life, at the ripe age of 30, the big 3-0, and you are acting like there is a mile long of men waiting to kiss your golden feet? smh!

PS: That said, I sense a deep psychological issue here; the feeling of wanting to be taken care of. Two things; Either your father was AWOL while you were growing up and you never had a man in your life to make your little, tiny, unlovable self feel loved or you envy your more beautiful friends who get treated like queens and you wish you could be treated like them.

The first situation: I am sorry I cant help you. The damage is done, you need to see a shrink. It is not the banker's job to heal your psychological trauma

The Second situation: Well, like the philosopher Jagger once said, 'You can't always get what you want.' It is time to grow up and face reality. You will be 31 next year, not 29.

See how the scoundrel called "Katsumoto" conveniently changed the topic to Igbo-Yoruba tussle. Hope u are not on someone's payroll to derail threads that can promote southern solidarity. The way you emerged from the blues to distort history is suspicious. Yorubas can deny all the time about the roles played by their leaders. Katsumoto: So a re-cap after 17 pages

1. No proof of any pact made by Awo with Biafrans
2. Biafrans shamelessly IGNORING the fact that their leaders charged landing fees to aid agencies bringing in free food for starving Biafrans
3. Awo was not the Biafran Minister of Agriculture or food policy
4. Biafra was failed by poor strategy and big egos (going to fight without food and with cutlasses)
5. Yoruba sons did not want to fight the war but boy did they end it
6. Biafrans can not explain how Ilorin was conquered
7. Biafrans stupidly believe that citizens of the same country require special passage through it
8. Awolowo was declared to be the most competent administrator by the British administrators who conspired to keep him in a failed experiment and prevented him from ruling it
9. Rushing to war without preparation is not bravery, it is stupidity
10. You can't save others when you are unable to save yourselves
11. Alaigbo can not produce a list of brave men who fought against dictatorships and oppression of all Nigerians, Biafrans included.

I am tired, please others can add to this list.
Oopss. . .this is getting ridiculous
PoliticsRe: Fani-Kayode: Yorubas Won The Civil War For Nigeria by ACM10: 7:23pm On Aug 14, 2012
Katsumoto: It was Nigerians that lost out with Awo, the most gifted administrator of any generation, not being able to rule Nigeria.

In any case, Awo was more interested in ruling Western Nigeria but since others (Zik and the British) conspired against his desire for a separate nation, he realised that the destiny of his people was tied to the destiny of other Nigerians. The progress that was made by Awo's AG has been regressed due to the unitary sc=tyle of government introduced by Ironsi, with his decree 34 of 1966.

See below for an assessment of all the regions by Lennox-Boyd, the colonial secretary in 1957.

5. In the West the grant of Regional self-government has on balance been
justified. The Action Group Government, led by the Premier, Chief Awolowo,
have proved reasonable and competent administrators and, although with the
steady run-down of the cadre of overseas officers there is bound to be some decline
in standards of administration, the advanced educational programme of the Region
should in time provide sufficient replacements.
The Premier aspires to national
leadership and has to this end formed a close alliance with the principal Opposition
elements in the North and East.

6. In the East government has seriously run down. Dr. Azikiwe (" Zik "wink,
leader of the N.C.N.C. remains in power as the personification of Ibo tribalism,
but his chronic unwillingness to tolerate around him men of independence of mind
has brought into being a Regional Executive Council, almost all of whom are
nonentities.
Some of the Federal Ministers drawn from his Party, notably
Dr. Mbadiwe, have recently lost their posts through constant but so far ineffective
warfare against his personal dictatorship of party affairs. His star may be on the
wane. At present he has no serious rival as leader of the Ibos, who are much the
largest race in the Region, and although it would be much healthier for Nigeria
if his hand were removed from the helm, the time has passed when Her Majesty's
Government could take any effective action to hasten this process. He must be
left to the disillusionment of his own people.

7. The vast Northern Region is still well behind the others in " progress."
Two-thirds of its 18 million people are strict Muslims, accepting the authority of
their Emirs. Educational progress is still slow and there is no prospect for a
generation of the Region being able to replace from its own resources the overseas
officers who have served them so well. The North fears and dislikes the more
educated Southerners and if they were not economically bound to the Federation
would be glad to be quit of it. The Emirs have for the most part recognised that
they must come to terms with democracy and support the party at present in power,
the N.P.C. The Premier, the Sardauna of Sokoto, is himself of a princely family.
I doubt if u are stable. You continue to churn out these trash anytime these debates comes up like a cerebral palsy patient who has signs of automatism. Do u actually believe your propaganda?
