naptu2: For those who can't read the entire article (and just in case I get banned) you can get to the article by clicking this link http://www.dawodu.com/bakassi2.htmIf an article from Dawodu site is all u got. Then u got nothing. Informations from that site has been discredited to the extent that no one should take them seriously. |
Okija_juju: I wish I could say I had any thoughts about you, unfortunately, I dont even have any clue who you are.. I suggest you go and read books, historic facts and all about the Bakassi land and the dispute. Its a situation that cant be explained away with a simple 'why did you hand the land over'.Cos Nigeria can't afford to fight war with Cameroon. I doubt if Nigeria can survive as an entity is they fight a 1yr war with Cameroon |
The condition there is fluid. Some of us that wants liberation from Nigeria will continue to monitor it with keen interest. I think they should conduct a quick referendum. So that they will have a solid case to make to the international community when the events gets ugly |
MsDarkSkin: Hilarity.Enters the Jamo princess ![]() |
asidere: I watched the race and i think i am better than usain bolt but Nigeria never recognised me,if not i would have beat him to create a new world recordOl boy, we are not talking of winch race here. We know say u be the fastest man for your village broom-flying competition. |
Siga: Na wa ooo...Jamaica swept the whole medal ooo....Bolt, Blake and Weir...These Jamaicans got to be probed o. I can't see why they run so fast while their African brothers are too slow. The Jamaican biochemists are really doing a nice job. That their supplements that no one can detect in the system through conventional sample analysis is really working. |
lastpage: I think its high time EVERY ARMED MILITARY MAN THAT LEAVE HIS BASE (BARRACKS OR WHATEVER) TO MIX WITHIN CIVILIAN COMMUNITY, CARRY AN IDENTITY TAG, ON THEIR PERSON.Gbam! |

Me and my friend once played Pro-evolution soccer for 24hrs some years ago |
Una don see the merits of constant power interruption in Nigeria. ![]() |
@Alienware, Seriously, Seun should create mad section |
Why is it that Nigerian men-in-uniform are so ill-disciplined? ![]() |
Dede1: @OPIn fact there was a book that I read sometimes ago that noted that the colonial authority pays £100,000 every year to the north from the proceeds from the south prior to amalgamation(pre-1914) to support their economy and prevent the Northern protectorate from descending into anarchy. This is one of the reason for amalgamation. To ease and distribute the financial burden of running the northern protectorate to the rest of the country and to legitimize the remittance of the British to the Northern protectorate. £100,000 pre-amalgamation is equivalent to tens of billions of pounds(£) today. I'm surprised that the north are openly and shamelessly claiming to be the mainstay of the nation prior to the discovery of oil. |
dayokanu: People bragging about war is different from actually fighting it.Since you introduced Adekunle into an unrelated topic. Let's debate about him. I'm not hoping to derail the thread just like u, but I intends to put the records straight. Firstly, his name is Joe "Hannibal" Achuzia. Your Yoruba historian blundered by calling him Ben. Do u really know this living legend called Colonel Joseph Achuzia "the Hannibal"? He is one of the most brilliant Biafran field commander. He is the field commander that defeated Adekunle in a set-piece battle at Owerri. Encircled Adekunle's forces, cutting of their supply lines, pounding them from all side and steadily turning Owerri into Adekunle and his troop's graveyard. He threw Adekunle and his ill-disciplined troops out of Owerri. If not for the brilliance of certain Adekunle's field commander from Akwa Ibom, Adekunle's biography would have closed in Owerri. Achuzia and his forces continued to push Adekunle down to Port-harcourt and was threatening Port-harcourt and other coastal towns. Effectively reversing all Adekunle's gain during the civil war. This forced Gowon to sack and replace him with Obasanjo. Remember and respect the name "Hannibal" as the man who sealed Adekunle's fate, disgraced him on the battlefield and set in motion his condemnation to the life of misery. Hannibal is the man who turned Adekunle from hero to an embarrassment. Adekunle's colleague and soldiers from the forces he once commanded avoid him like leper. Today, Achuzia is an elderstatesman in Igboland and former secretary-general of Ohaneze, while Adekunle is an inconsequential figure in Yorubaland, confined to one corner of mental home recieving treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder(PTSD), ever regretting his role in the civil war. |
Super1759: So the northners can now talk. So they are busy watching BH killing themselves all this while. Why don't they team up and get this people out if they are peace loving peopleThe best response so far. Nigeria is indeed a nation of hypocrites. I know how peace-loving people all over the world behave. They deal decisively with any disturbance of peace in their backyard. It's only in Nigeria that people can lie blatantly and stand by it. We Nigerians are bunch of shameless people. BTW, the part of history that North fed the country before the advent of oil escaped me. I know that what attracted Britons to Nigeria is agricultural produce in the south. I'm well aware that before the amalgamation, Britons pays £100,000 to the Northern protectorate every year because they are poor and incapable of self-sufficiency. Maybe someone should lecture me on when North fed the country. |
swaggerific: Now how do I establish the direct and indirect links with no information? I have to personally go ask him..."Please Sir, how did you make your money?"...thats B.S, its not that serious.. . .and you think that u can get the info here on NL? That's silly! |
swaggerific: Bro, I tried googling his source of wealth and I couldnt find anything solid hence I asked the question. Now, I didnt expect this question to be on the front page of Nairaland...it was a brutally honest question. I dont hate Rochas, neither do I even remotely dislike him. He is a good governor...hope he continues his good works. I tried googling everywhere but no answer. I dont even know if he rode the prado jeeps but I said that the LGA Chairmen rode those SUVs with reckless abandon. swaggerific: My brother thank you...help me ask themDon't get it twisted my dear. I'm not disputing your civic responsibility to question the source of wealth of your public officials OR any public official in any part of your country. But you have to convince us first that the officer in question is actually rich. So far, you've not done that. I refuse to accept speculation. Speculation can be dangerous. Prior to second coup in Nigeria, speculation was rife that the then Head-of-state, Gen. Aguiyi Ironsi was very rich. But when the coupist peeped into his bank account after the coup, they were so embarrassed by the amount they found there that they refused to disclose that to Nigerians for the fear of eliciting the sympathy of the Nigerians towards the man they murdered. There was a relation of mine whom we thought to be very rich. We were so embarrassed by what we saw in his bank account upon his death. Even the assets that we thought to be his were all leasehold. You see why speculation is bad. You must base your argument on established fact. Can you imagine the level of speculations that you have provoked, all because u based your thread on speculation. Once again, you have the right to question the source of wealth of your public official. But you have to establish their direct or indirect ownership of the wealth in question. |
swaggerific: But I remember he was so wealthy even before that. He contested the governorship election with Achike Udenwa and lost. I remember those prado jeeps...those were the ish then. The local government chairmen used those jeeps for all their worth lol swaggerific: Ehhh...its better if its a beer parlor gist. Who is talking about being professional when it comes to asking questions about our leaders? So asking how a state Governor made his money is character assasination? Wonders shall never end. I said it time and again that I respect the guy. I also respect Fashola for what he is doing in Lagos but anyone could easily figure out how he made his money. With only 65 posts on this forum, you strikes me as a fake. This is a handle that some other poster uses to do hack job. I must tell u that your job is so classless and amateurish. You cannot pass the first test of your critics. It's ok to be ignorant, but it's annoying when u projects your ignorance aggressively. You've not even proved to us that Rochas is rich, only for you to ask us how Rochas became so rich. When challenged, u gave a weak rebuttal that he rode several Prado jeep during his election campaign. FYI, Obama spent more than $500million during his election campaign. But Obama's asset and his tax return shows that he's worth less than $10million. A politician can raise money from donors. His supporters can help him with logistics. Spending extravagantly during election campaign does not in any way prove that a politician is rich. Your thread is ladden with subliminal sarcasm aimed to put Rochas name to disrepute. It's ok to ask pertinent questions about our leaders. But it is a crass distraction to ask dumb questions and expect attention to be given to u. Why can't u do some reasearch on this topic. Your question is equivalent to tea-partiers saying that Obama was not born in US and expecting Obama to prove that he was born in US. If you got info that Rochas is stinkingly wealthy, the onus falls on u to convince the public that he is indeed wealthy. Then show us how he acquired his wealth. Your assertion is based purely on speculation and should not be taken seriously. By throwing out a careless question, you are inviting more speculation. Your question will surely attract all Rochas haters to self-service their hatred. I expect a better performance from u. Imagine me, a Rochas critics defending him? It shows how poor you did your job. |
Nebeuwa: I see nothing wrong with this question. I do not know why some people would be offended. Of course you should want to know what was a politician's job before they entered "public service."The slowpoke asked "how did Rochas became so rich?" without proving beyond doubt that Rochas is rich. There is everything wrong with the question my dear. |
People keeps ranting that he stole the country blind to get rich. Not a single person has provided evidence to back up his assertion. That's why I remarked that OP should do his homework first. You are inviting confusion by throwing an open-ended question to the public forum. The OP should atleast give us the estimate of Rochas wealth, complete with some of his assets. Going by the OP's assertion, we are not even sure if Rochas is rich. The question should be: 1. Is Rochas rich? After tackling this question, we move over to the next question. 2. How rich is Rochas? Before we delve into the question of. . . 3. How Rochas acquired his wealth? As most of you can notice from my past posts, I'm one of Rochas fervent critics here for his loquaciousness and poor performance. But I won't be a party to assailing Rochas image without any evidence. OP did a poor job. He reduced his thread to beer palour gist, thereby exposing an opening for critics to launch a counterattack on him that he has a personal agenda to assassinate Rochas character. We should learn to be more professional whenever we approach a topic like this. |
Paul John: Good day mods. Please I've been trying to upload pictures every since, but all to avail. I always have the replies of my pix are too large. I was surprised to see that Someone could upload pictures that're as much as that of Abakaliki this morning. These my pix are taken via phone, and not a camp coder or a device that makes the pix so heavy. Please enlighten me.Reduce the resolution of your pictures so that its size will trim down to 200kb and below. That's the size of pictures that nairaland accepts. Pictures larger than 200kb will not be uploaded. You can reduce the size of your photo by clicking on edit. Then reduce its resolution. Then save. Check the details of your picture. If the size is still above 200kb. Then you must reduce its resolution further and save. Upload the picture whenever its size falls to 200kb and below. |
swaggerific: How Did Rochas Okorocha Become This Rich?!You should do your private investigation, then come back here to tell us. By throwing an open ended question in a rowdy public forum, you are inviting confusions in responses People keeps ranting that he stole the country blind to get rich. ACM10: Front page pls!Mods, pls post the thread on the first link to the homepage. Nigerian moslems were shouting hullabaloos on the plan of Anambra state govt to demolish their mosque on this thread. I think they deserves some explanation with picture evidence on why their mosque should go. |
kingoflag: Jesus Christ! What a buncha whiny pieces of slime! You must have been on some potent hypnotics when you made the comment below. kingoflag: Yes, disintegration will bode everyone well if it would mean people like yourself and other intolerant folks are kept away from more tolerant folks. |
kingoflag: Look at me, thinking this monkey was different from his ignorant brethren and trying to answer him in a civilized manner. By the way, you slimy, lying fuc*k :WHEN DID I ACCUSE YOU PERSONALLY OF INTOLERANCE?! WAS I RESPONDING TO YOU OR ONLYTRUTH?! WHY DO YOU WHINY PIECES OF SHIY**YT LIKE THROWING YOURSELVES IN SITUATIONS THAT DONT CONCERN YOU?!? SEE WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT NOW?!? Onlytellsliesallday made a statement, I countered the statement, how does that equate replying you? Are you seeking recognition that bad?!You made reference to Igbos and that includes me. So I have every justification to respond to your comment. |
kingoflag: ACM10, I'm not doubting that you're not right, I'm just saying singling them out is not fair and is myopic. Nigeria as a whole is a VERY, VERY DIRTY SOCIETY, take it or leave it, and until the various States and Local Govts stops embezzling the money meant for cleansing society, what you pictured above is what we're gonna continue seeing for a very long time. Then why should they stand in the way of beautification of that filthy area? You seems disoriented cos your blame on the government is misplaced. The government wants to beautify the area, but the moslems are against it |
kingoflag: Yes, disintegration will bode everyone well if it would mean people like yourself and other intolerant folks are kept away from more tolerant folks.I pity your neck that is saddled with carrying your big head with useless brain. You need brain transplant. If a matching human donor is not readily available, opt for goat brain on the interim basis. I asked whether you will tolerate such filth at the entry point to your state and your are accusing me of intolerance. This is another reason why we can't live together in one country with silly folks like u. Why can't u rise above your narrow bigoted outlook and condemn something wrong outside your tribe? Can u imagine this yoruba jingoist lecturing us on the topic of "tolerance"? Rubbish! |
kingoflag: Yup, the Northerner is the sole reason why the rest of the environment looks unbelievably disgusting!I can post the pictures of other northern settlements scattered all over the east for u to make an informed judgement. I can only source for the pictures if u throws the challenge at me |
