I hope with 700k, he is bringing it tp your doorstep. Else, its not worth it in my view. Am sure thats the purchase price which you will ship, clear and transport. The car is an E-class produced between 1996-2003 with most probably a V6 engine. The one in the pic may be 1999 or older. |
Piyke:That will be on Monday using office LTE network. I made a search for it last week but didnt get. Thanks for this. |
egbesegbe:Kai, u r impossible. I have tried to put up something for you but its pointless. |
egbesegbe:Because the google, the Prof and me dont align with you or GEJ we are all wrong and you are disappointed. Dont forget that each number of the defination of word corruption, it has a different context. I dont have anything more to tell you. |
thegoodjoehunt3:There is nothing wrong with what you have said. However, stealing is a corrupt act but the context in which the corrupt is mention refers to the state of the stealers mind. Like i said before corruption has 9 other context. |
egbesegbe:Kai kai kai! This is the lowest of the low comment about this matter. Can you hear yourself. If GEJ had consulted google, it would not have done him that damage that he is trying tooth and nail to defend. You should be ashamed that you criticize someone who rightly referred to the right source but you go ahead to question the credibility of google just to discredit him. The definition by google is wrong? Are you high? You entertain this thought just because you want to defend GEJ by all means. Am amazed. Where did we get English from? |
egbesegbe:I agree because oxford dictionary has 9 other definitions of corruption as regards difference context. A mind can be corrupt in that context. A computer system can be corrupt in that context and so on and so forth. In the government context, stealing and corruption are quite different. |
egbesegbe:Thats why fraud and corruption are synonymous while both are not synonymous with stealing. I also initially thought the way you were thinking until i checked the definition of corruption in the dictionary myself. Check the definition yourself and save yourself from GEJ. If Prof's definition is wrong, Google is wrong because he got his definition exactly from Google without changing a word. This is where you, GEJ and others shoot yourselves on the foot. |
thegoodjoehunt3:Stealing and corruption may have a common synonym but may not be synonyms themselves. The terms money and currency are not synonymous and cannot be used interchangeably. Currency cannot even be a property in the first place. Who's property is the Nigerian Naira or the American Dollar? I am not an economist but in my knowledge, virtual money and virtual currency are one and the same thing. A search on Google gave me a Wikipedia definition of virtual currency as digital money. This brings us back to the same thing , Money. In this case digital money may have a value different from that of liquid money and may not be used to settle liabilities. So technical by my understanding of that economics, digital money or virtual currency as you may call it can be said to be a property. In summary, virtual currency is a property and therfore not money. Hope you got my point. |
thegoodjoehunt3:Considering that fraud and corruption are synonymous, you can use corruption to describe the scenario and wont be totally wrong. However, the precise term as per grammar and law, its called fraud. |
egbesegbe:They committed fraud on you. Not corruption nor stealing. That scenario is called FRAUD! You need to drop sentiment and use the correct grammar. Am sure you did Lexis and structure in WAEC. That part of English language relates to these kind of terms. |
thegoodjoehunt3:We will be going round and round if you continue like this. Money is not property. Property has a value in money so money can not have a value other that what it is. Every other thing you own has a value in money thats why its called property but the money you have is its own value so not a property. This is plain economics not English. |
thegoodjoehunt3:Yes. Money or government property "stolen" by government official is called corruption. Money "stolen" by a politician is called graft Money "stolen" by bank official is called fraud. The car "stolen" from your garage is called stealing. See in another view the difference between Stealing and Corruption as regards government official and its property. For example, if a director of the ministry of works sells his official car and pockets the entire money, he stole the car because his superior will ask him to account for the car. This is where it gets tricky because if he successfully convinces his superior such that there is no longer record as if the car never existed, that act of stealing has been converted to corruption. You cannot steal what was never there. In the case, if the director cannot explain give back the money realized from the sale to government coffers that is fraud. and finally if he didn't sell the car but converted the physical car to his personal use without intention of returning the car to government, that is called stealing. The reason why stealing hardly happens in government is that if that director does not return the car, his severance pay, gratuity, or pension is withheld to the value of the car which neutralizes the stealing. A government official can not get away with stealing. If his superior pays entitlements without penalizing him for stealing the car, it becomes a corruption case. Where ever way you go about a government official getting away with stealing ends up a corruption case not stealing. You cant get away with stealing but can get away with corruption thats why stealing is only physical. |
thegoodjoehunt3:Where you are making a mistake is that the definition of stealing says property while fraud is money. Fraud in government is corruption. Fraud in a bank remains fraud. Get it straight this last time Stealing is as to property Fraud is as to money and others while Fraud in government is corruption fraud in the private sector is still fraud. Stealing is physical property while fraud is not but includes only physical cash or documents Get it? |
thegoodjoehunt3:Once you accept the fact that the act which a government official is found wanting is called fraud or fraudulent, stealing was not the act. So you are wrong to say he committed stealing but he committed fraud. The two are not related in the context of government official. You may refer to the definition of stealing. stealStealing refers to property |
Do you know that according to Oxford dictionary, GEJ has actually corrupted the meaning of the word corruption in context of the 6th definition of corruption under the context of the 9th definition of corruption? http://www.oed.com/view/Entry/42045?redirectedFrom=corruption#eid 6. a. thegoodjoehunt3:Dont you have Google to find out for yourself, haba! You are on the Internet right now but you cant check a definition for yourself. You are doing a great disservice to yourself and the nation if you cant verify a simple thing like a definition. The dictionary or Google has a lot of synonyms which stealing isn't one. If you want it added, i cant do that for you, send an appeal to OED (Oxford English Dictionary) with proof of why it needs to be added. Google is your friend my brother. |
MzNelly:2. When i was younger 3. Busy period with no time for laundry, i choose the least smelly of the lot 8. We all did that when we were immature and didn't have babes, now with a wife, i will get a divorce if she catches me 9. I have a addiction to this, i sleep with my hands cupping the balls. So don't sleep in public so i don't do it by reflex embarrassing myself 10. The hair on the balls can cause a lot of pain and discomfort when it gets caught up. |
thegoodjoehunt3:Any break down leads you to synonyms. Thats their use to help you break it down. You have an example stated as well. When you link stealing in to it when it is not in the synonyms, that is not English accepted because you have gone out of context of the word corruption. Other dictionaries will also not go out of context. Google gives you the most accepted definition. This is what http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/corruption says corruption noun cor·rup·tion \kə-ˈrəp-shən\ : dishonest or illegal behavior especially by powerful people (such as government officials or police officers) : the act of corrupting someone or something : something that has been changed from its original form The last definition indicts Jonathan for corrupting the definition of the word "corruption". I wouldnt be wrong to say GEJ is corrupt even if he didn't commit fraud. |
thegoodjoehunt3:Neither me, GEJ, Osinbajo or you invent English and cannot add a new definition or synonym to English. The definition of corruption is standard and i quote "dishonest or fraudulent conduct by those in power, typically involving bribery." That is what English says not what you, me or GEJ say it is. Get that! |
Many people in support of the president who are not illiterates have no shame to know the president was wrong but will never accept that he is. PDP supporters who are quick to call someone an illiterate are actually illiterates themselves. |
thegoodjoehunt3:Do you know what a dictionary is? Search for one and check the meaning of corruption then come back and edit your post. |
Calculia:You like Jonathan think we are illiterates? If you have a phone that has internet, go to google and type "CORRUPTION". This is what comes out. cor·rup·tionThis is from Google and it is international accepted. Why do you and your oga Jona want to redefine it, to suit your failures? In the synonyms, there is nothing like "stealing" or "thieving", either this president is actually dull or has no conscience. synonyms: dishonesty, unscrupulousness, double-dealing, fraud, fraudulence, misconduct, crime, criminality, wrongdoing; bribery, venality, extortion, profiteering, payola; informalgraft, grift, crookedness, sleaze |
udemzyudex:I advise you do same to yours. |
udemzyudex:See yourself. Referring me to an exercise that was not implemented means you do not have even one solid fact to support your allegation in Jega. It was a mere proposal which wasn't a wrong thing to do. Do you know the sharing formula for distribution of the 30,000 new PUs? It was based on the existing PUs which Jega was not the one who created it. The timing was what you should question but not the distribution. The distribution is a logical one that no one can question which shared new PU based on proportion of existing ones. So no area had advantage against the other. Referring me to well known ethnic bigots like Clark and Ekweme means you don't investigate facts on your own but mere propaganda peddling. In fact, from your link which probably you read only the headline, "basis of 15% equality and 85% proportional representation" was used. If the north were to fight for 100% proportional representation it will be worst than what they were crying. The basis of 15% equality favoured the south which they still complained. We all know not even 50% equality will favour ethnic bigots like Clark especially. |
udemzyudex:Are you serious? Was the polling unit allocated today or was it done by Jega? You have no proof or fact so stop spreading baseless allegations. Do you even know how PU are allocated? |
udemzyudex:Have you heard of 'voter apathy'? It cant be the same everywhere in Nigeria. We all know the Igbos are business oriented people who usually have a lower voter apathy. You cant compare the love for politics between the Hausa and the Igbo man. Because one region has collected more than others does not mean the system is skewed to favour one. States that collected less than others should cry out if thats what you are saying. In some states, cards were snatched, do you expect inec to stop elections because those people who are afffected wont see their cards. Would you say for fairness that states which sharing is peaceful should encaurage snatchers for solidarity so that the collection rate must be same? Are you expecting the collection to be 100%? Do you know how long it took me in the north to get my pvc? You dont have to carry all pdp propaganda like the holy scripture. Inec has made all the requirements to conduct that elections, GEJ chickened out, period. |
ellechrystal:If people in the south didnot get their pvc so inec should go house to house and make sure they collect them abi? The questions you need to ask are; Did inec produce the cards or not? Are the cards in the distribution center or not? The northerners that collected theirs, was the distribution or timeline different from that in the south? Virtually all the people i know who dont have pvc are those that have not yet gone to collect theirs or now recide far from where they register and wont travel for it. Both of these set of people, inec is not responsible for. |
Denn:Nice thread, i am following. My dad drove the beetle from 1981 to 1999 when i sold it for 15k. I remember my dad always having exactly the same type of tires i see on yours. However, the aspect ratio on yours seem to be a little higher than usual. |
promisechild:Marchuari! Very funny indeed. As a matter of fact the news is not correct and its confirmed to be a rumour based on strong indications. A press briefing is about to be made by INEC. They are in a meeting at the moment. |
Chigold101:There will be no significant change in the preparedness of INEC after 6 weeks. There will also not be an end to Boko Haram in 6 weeks to guarantee all IDP's vote in their homes. Lastly, those who believe that they have been disenfrachised since they probably registered far away from their present location will still not collect their PVC or be allowed to vote with TVC except if they decide to travel to where they registered. What then is the point for shifting the polls other than total waste of Nigeria's resources and more elaborate rigging plans. |
INEC reached the decision to postpone the 2015 General Elections at a stakeholders meeting held today, February 7, The Associated Press reports.I just hope its not true. |
