ogawisdom:Did you watch the videos posted by ZIMDRILL? You need to. Left foot brakers are likely to have their brake lights on involuntarily causing problems to other motorist. The brake light switch level on the brake pedal is always before the actual brake application level. The idle left leg resting on the pedal in most cases trigger the brake lights even when accelerating but sending a wrong signal to cars following behind which will brake thinking you are braking. Imagine the effect of a car ahead with 100 cars behind it. Whenever the second car sees the brake lights of the car ahead, he will brake too. Same applies to the next car and the next, down to the 100th car. Imagine that all those braking was a false alert and repeated almost constantly without you the ahead driver knowing the distress of your actions to other motorist. Its just insensitivity on your part not to be nice to other motorist even when you have not flaunted an obvious road traffic regulation. No one says, you are barred from it (in Nigeria atleast) or that you are not good at it. You will never know how bad you are since the resulting problems will be behind you. Some people are bad brakers but the left foot brakers are even worst and can be spotted from a mile away. Left foot braking is as bad as putting on left turn signal but physically turning right. |
chimah3:You've been answered. You need to watch the youtube videos above if you didnt and hear for yourself the curses rained on left foot brakers. I didnt even mention the fact that they are very annoying to follow behind. |
I have been told once by someone that only racing drivers do and are required to drive automatics with both legs. Personally, i drive automatic with the right leg only and as usual drive manual with both legs. I believe it is bad for a street driver to drive an automatic with two legs especially if the driver drives a manual occassionally. This is because the manual trains your left leg to depress the clutch fully and when you use that leg on the brake pedal, that will spell disaster. It will take considerable amount of time to adjust between Manual and Automatic leading to very bad driving on both vehicles during the transition period. The manual driver using left foot on brakes on the automatic will find himself either braking too hard or too soft both could cause accidents. It is also bad for the transmission, brake systems. The convincing question is if a driver uses left leg on brakes with automatic, which leg will he use on brakes with the manual drive because it is actually impossible to drive manual, braking and clutching with the same leg which in most is simultaneous. My suspicion is that this op may not know how to drive a manual. Look at it this way, it is standard to drive a manual with left leg on clutch pedal and right leg for gas and brake pedals. The legs and brain are trained in that process. So if you go to automatic where only the clutche pedal is missing, you just can leave your left leg hanging while the right leg continue the function it was trained to usually do. If you change, the training in the brain changes so it will be a new learning process since the left leg is now braking (a different function). In the same vein, my aunt and my mother had to go to the village one night with my mum's auto car but my mum doesnt drive in the night and my aunt does but drives a manual. It was seriously awful as my aunt insisted she must use left leg on the brakes. The result was acceleration and braking at the same time. It took ages before she could manouver out of the parking lot and out of the compound. |
mozee:Have you changed with the rollers? Because the rollers are the only thing apart from grease that make contact with the inside of the cup. Also be sure its the same type with exact dimensions with the original one. I have had a case with an old Honda when the mechanic used a cup of a different car without my knowledge and the result was still vibration. |
talk2odim:Thank you for your understanding. Car doctor is Abuja based and there is where i am. He used to be an active member of this forum and am sure a search will get me his contacts but I know his workshop so i can stop by when am ready. |
talk2odim:I saw your post for some time but actually got lost on how to approach you with a response since you seem to be on edge. I have tried to be plain, simple and direct but non appeals to you. Of course you were the first person to reply the op. Of course i read that comment of yours and had no contest then and now about it. I went back to read it and actually regretted why i did not like it the first time cos if i do now, you may think its for a motive. If you noticed too that not too far behind you i also made my contribution. I have read all your comments and went back upon your request to read again. I still did not have a problem with all you said before the one i quoted you asking whether its your conclusion that Milemaster is a bad oil because from your comment that i quoted one can conclude the obvious. I was just trying to have you make a stand but you wouldn't even though your post seem to say its bad evident by the op declaring that he is no longer interested in the Milemaster. At this point, i feel it is not too late for you to go back and reconsider my point. You said you had shortage using Milemaster, i shared the same testimony. You said that Milemaster may not be responsible for the shortage. I shared the same testimony too. You started using Milemaster in April 2014, i started January 2014 not to far off. Now it came to engine tapping noise, you related it directly to the period of milemaster usage. Thats where i have a different opinion, am i wrong to have a different opinion? All i ask is that you investigate my opinion as a possibility. Or possibly identify the related cause of the engine tapping noise. Thick oil can make valves quiet but light oil such as milemaster could make it obviously noisy and its solution is just adjustment. If you do and the result is valve clearance, then its not milemaster. Improperly set valve clearance makes a tapping noise. Adjusting valve clearance is included in a car manual as a maintenance service item to be inspected periodically. Have you ever done yours. Explore the possibly before you crucify Milemaster. Thats my point. My manual says, inspect valve clearance and replace spark plugs after 110,000miles otherwise adjust only if noisy. My car makes noise too but i know its not milemaster but valves. I have planned that during my next service i shall contact Car Doctor who may be the best and trusted hand to open my head cover. |
andre82:In Nigeria, 0w40 and 10w40 will do perfectly well. However, back in the US and in some states and during some seasons, 10w40 may be acceptable. if you really want an all season oil, you will have to consider the 0w40 or 5w40. |
andre82:Assume a scale of 0-100 callibrated in intervals of 10. Your car's recommendation is at 30 but you passed that mark to 40, others have gone higher to 50. Thats how you should see it but in terms of viscousity (thickness) To your question proper, you may lose a tiny fraction of your mileage and a little off the life span of the engine. Since 10w40 is a little higher on the viscous scale than 5w30, the oil is thicker and less energy conserving. The engine is designed to work with 5w30 but u used a thicker oil which will be a little heavier than recommended and may not warm up as quickly during cold start while your engine runs without proper lubrication for that short time. |
GAZZUZZ:In addition, P0037: HO2S Heater Control Circuit Low (Bank 1 Sensor 2) is of the one on or after the catalytic converter (indomie). If his car is a v6, he could swap Bank 1 Sensor 2 for Bank 2 sensor 2 (same sensor) if the car has to confirm that the sensor is faulty. It could be the heater fuse or harness. |
talk2odim:The Honda recommended 'Genuine Honda motor oil' 5w20 is semi synthetic Honda says in the manual, 'you may use synthetic oil'. -Honda says make sure the API Certification seal says, 'For Gasoline Engines.' -Honda says use 5w20. These are the main requirements, you donot have to see the mix ratio before you use because you know is semi synthetic.

talk2odim:Resting ur case does not benefit anyone and most especially me and you considering this is a learning section with so many experiences shared. When you present a case, you have to do it properly to avoid misleading those who will read hoping to learn but learn misconcieved information instead. You had already made chiebube change his mind about the oil, i myself felt a cold shiver through my spine before i had a second thought. How many people will see your unconfirmed conclusion and immediately take a decision? What if you are wrong? What if you change to mobil and your engine noise becomes worst (likely probable because engine noise does not get better, it gets worst)? What i have tried to explain to you, you have not even considered or thought about it, instead you walk way leaving your unconfirmed infomation for all to see without a rebuttal if you were actually wrong. Mind you, its not only the op that reads this thread, others including guest will but may not comment. The truth is that it is perfectly normal that a seemingly non problem engine may come up with one especially with a lighter oil. Using wrong or bad engine oil shortens the life span of your engine but usually not causing damage within a short period of time. And how long is the life span of and engine that 2-3 short service periods will cause a significant damage such as you are claiming. I have seen a brand new PAN Peugeot having engine failure twice within the first month of its warranty. PAN replaced the engine and later the entire vehicle after the second engine failure. There is the story i gave above about my office cars that were last service a yr ago with conventional mobil 20w50, one car is over 20,000km now and the other almost 30,000km. I drove one recently from Uyo to Abj without stoping and blasting a/c all the way. The engines are perfect, the effect will never be immediate but the engine longevity has been affected. I have a good report on this oil after 1year of usage, you and your friend have a bad report, you owe us more detailed information. There is nothing personal about our conversation so no need to pick offence. |
talk2odim:If you complained about engine noise while using Milemaster, you are indirectly suppecting it caused your engine damage corroborated with a similar case of your friend. As per the bolded, i have never heard that 20w50 damage seals. Besides, you didnt mention seals in your initial post. Dont forget engine oil doesnot prevent you from engine damage no matter how good the oil is. There are several causes to engine damage while bad engine oil is one of them. What i wanted you to understand is that 5w20 is very light oil in comparison to 20w50 and the engine noise will obviosly be there if you have a faulty engine. I am using milemaster and am considering adjusting my valve clearance to make it quieter. The planned adjustment ia not because i want to but because it is recommended in my manual to inspect and adjust. |
talk2odim:You dont get the point. You were using thicker 20w50 oil before your switched to 5w20 or 30 which is way lighter. Thicker oil usually reduces engine noise while thinner oils are noisy. You cannot categorically proof that the milemaster engine oil is responsible for both engine failures when others like me succesfully used it for 3cervice. |
GAZZUZZ:Do you mean to say that Milemaster is not a good oil? I dont think so. Mobil is synthetic while milemaster is semi synthetic. Why would you compare them in the 1st place? Those who experienced tapping noise from use of milemaster may have had the problem before the switch which the new lighter oil would would have made the sound more pronounced. |
peleson:If you knew how power projects work, you will not be saying a these. Let me educate you. When you award a power contract, it works in 3 stages Engineering 10% Procurement 70% Construction 20% What this means is that when a contract is awarded within 6months to 1yr 10% must have been paid for the design and survey of the project. Assuming a N1Billion projct, this stage would cost 100million. Next is buy the equipments that will be installed and its offshore since Nigeria does not have thw capacity. This stage takes up 70 whole percent of the contract sum and is paid in bulk within a year of awarding the contract. Mind you by this stage 80% of the project sum is paid but not a single thing is on site not even perimeter fence because that is the last stage of construction. By now assuming the N1billion N800million would have been spent with nothing to show and ignorant people like you start shouting that he is looting. These sums were paid by OBJ leaving only 20% for Yaradua and GEJ to pay and complete. Now tell me who gets credit? Gej or Obj. |
barcanista:Truth to that, Libya is the classic case, now they know no peace. I still doesnt mean our government should misbehave or that Nigerians should continue taking all the greed from government officials quietly. |
seighapaul:I would have been the 1st to reply him but thought mayb he has a point and am dumb not to see it. Cant stop lauging from several replies while the topic is gradually fogotten. |
grandstar:The sudden disappearance or large numbers of permanent voters cards raises eyebrows and is a thing of concern. |
Ayed44:Exactly. True. Very correct on that. But 'if election is rigged, we will form a parallel government' is not a treasonable offence. Infact, nothing he said is an offence. If it were, they would have made a move on him by now. The word 'forming' means present continous while if puts the whole sentence in future. Can you arrest someone for future treason? |
killercute16:I thought i was alone on that. I didnt want to sound foolish if i posted something about it assuming there was actually something to understand in it. |
Schematics:Unfortunately for you dumb ass, that cannot be used as basis for impeachment. You can only ask him to honourably resign but cant force him unless you can impeach him without impeachable offence. The constitutuon is clear on that, even PDP themselves dont know how to go about it and you a nobody comes here to spew utter nonsense. Other political parties didnt present a candidate not because the are not eligible but because the will not win without PDP's support. Understand that or go back to kindergarten. |
gambus007:You car owners manual specifies service interval in distance covered or time elapsed whichever comes first. However, you must have used manufacturer recommended engine oil and filter to follow their service recommendation to the latter. For example, 2003 Honda Accord 4l owners manual recommends service at 10,000miles or 1year which ever comes first. There are a whole list of items to replace at various intervals. |
Seun:What i was refering to was the price difference. 10k synthetic vs 6k semi synthetic Synthetic 10kmiles vs semi synthetic 7.5kmiles It is economically convenient for me to service my car twice at 6kmiles with semi synthetic than one time with synthetic oil at 10kmiles. |
indigene:Sounds like a dead relay. |
happywife:Thats a bad decision! I didnt have much to say until i saw this. Your husband's cheating does not translate to giving up on your family but this decision of yours means you have given up. Unfortunately, our society has made it so that a husband may cheat and get forgiveness but hardly does a woman cheater get forgiveness. You husband does not know your level of hurt and where he is pushing you to. Tell him. When he knows he is about to lose you to a worthless piece of puss.y he will definately retrace his steps. Cheating sometimes strenghtens some families but breaks most. Dont allow yours to be broken. If i were your husband's friend, i would tell him that if he must continue cheating, he must have respect for you. By respect i mean if he must cheat, he must do it far from home making sure you never suspect and leaving no trace. That is the only way a cheater must respect his family. |
lestat:You didnt say what short code you used. If its 102 then you did same thing with your usual subscription. The new one is 120 to 131. Besides, you have been wasting that night 20GB data when you can use it all day but with some sacrifces. When the bonus is exhausted, make sure you dont have airtime in your phone. On your phone settings where there is 3G service options, select 3G service only (i.e remove from auto). After 6am you will keep browsing and downloading until you do one of the following: Leave network area Make a 2min or more call Leave 3G service Disconnect internet connection for morethan a minute. This is how it works. When you connect to a mobile internet network, it assigns you an IP adress. The IP address you used for the night browsing will continue to work until you diaconnect from it and assigned a different one. A call suspends your internet connection for the duration of the call and discconect if you stay longer. By the time you resume, you will have a new IP which will not browse. |
You didnt mention its a Diesel engine. |
If your father really hates you, the only way to get back at him is to become successful. Success is a weapon so use it very well. Never fail in your academics, take studies seriously. My uncle once told me 'you will fail' because the night before writing jamb, i was out with friends. Fortunately for me and unfortunately for him, i got admission and have since been a graduate. |
Totfulguy:No, because i dont live in Lagos. |
Your mechanics way is not far off but will give you a little excess. The difference is that the car should be turned off to before check. This is for Honda accord.
