Health › Re: Doctor in the House: Free Medical Advice Available by adanny01(m): 6:38am On Oct 11, 2014
Please DrMalik come to my aid.

1. I experience some few minutes of prickly kind of itching after taking bath with cold or luke warm water. It is worst if i use any kind of scrub/sponge. My bath water has to be comfortably hot else i get itchy. The itching bout starts from 1-2min after bath and last up to five minutes. Rubbing cream and wearing cloths, jumping into bed and covering myself with duvet cover seem to help reduce the itching. AC or fan helps too. I guess it stops when my skin starts drying.

I do experience the prickly itching on cold wet days with out even taking a bath and gets worst with a bath or if i use rain water. A skin sample was taken from my back and tested for filariasis but came back negative.

I also get itchy on my torso sometimes when i sweat. This problem has been affecting my 2yr son who pulls off his shirt crying after he takes warm beverage(bornvita) or even normal food or when he sweats from normal play. We will always help him scratch his back for a minute or 2 while he cools down.

2. I have read about irritable bowel syndrome. I think i have it. No week passes without me having an episode of frequent toilet visits sometimes 3 times within a hr. Most times in the morning. It sure will happen when i eat pepperish food the previous day. I am always with flagyl.

How can i treat these problems please.

In this scenario, the question that needs be answered is "why the need for topping" ??
The answer is there already, most 2003-10 accords short engine oil for no just cause.

I had tried to find a solution but nothing seem to be wrong with the car but oil shorts in very small amounts with no effects whatsoever. Every lead was rule out. My mechanic admits to have recieved complains about it, i also saw on a honda forum so many complains about it.
Car Talk › Re: Between Mobil 1 Oil And The Regular Oils by adanny01(m): 6:03pm On Oct 10, 2014
One thing my honda car manual says is that to use 5w20 but 0w20 us also acceptable. Another thing it says is change interval of 10,000miles or 1year on the condition that i use Genuine Honda oil.

Now, i know that Genuine Honda oil is synthetic. If i have another brand of trusted quality, i will use as per their instructions.

In Nigeria, the conventional oil is 20w50 and recommended by 99% of Nigerian mechanics. I am aware that that oil is not recommended for my car, so i sought out to get an affordable option since Genuine honda oil at N2,500 per 1litre bottle x5 is expensive and difficult to find.

My car taking 4.2l with filter at service means i have to buy 5 litres. My options were:

Mobil 1 0w40 synthetic 4litre @8000 + 1litre @2200 making N10,200
Total quartz 9000 5w40 synthetic 5litre @ N8,000
Castrol edge 5w40 5litre @ N9,000
Milemaster 5w20 synthetic blend 5litre @ N6,500 now N6,000

From the list it was very obvious that milemaster was it. I bought 2 thats 10litres and have been toping since my engine shorts oil every 1000miles. I was worried of the quality of the oil but i stopped being scared after the engine performance became better as a result of the change. I have recently clocked 6000miles but will change soon at 6500miles my target. The oil doesnt look like it needs change and even tempted to go more since i have been topping.

My take is to use the manufacturer recommended oil weight or something close to it that is affordable. Thats all.

From what I read in my car manual, the spid limiter kicks in when the engine revolution hits the red zone and that's 7000rpm and above.
Thats about correct on most cars only that its set before revolution hits red zone.

I guess on my 2003, the ECU controls it depending on several inputs from many sensors. Example is when the engine is very cold in the morning just after 1st kick, the limit seems to be lower probably because of low temprature.

Besides i just watched a video of a 99 Honda civic where the redline was at 7000r/min and the limit is at 5000r/min.

Celebrities › Between Linda Ikeji And Mr Aye Dee. The Real Shocking Story by adanny01(op): 11:01am On Oct 10, 2014
What you are about to read is quite long…and chilling! I wasn’t going to share this info in public but after I showed it to some family members and a few friends who came to the house this morning, everyone agreed that I need to share this, that you all need to read this. You see, what happened with my blog wasn’t about beef. It wasn’t because I showed off my new SUV. It wasn’t about plagiarism, or copyright infringement. It was something deeper, very personal and maybe even more dangerous. Some would call it obsession. Please continue...

To understand this I am going to start from the beginning but before that I want to talk about plagiarism. My understanding of plagiarism is when you take someone’s work and republish it verbatim as your own work. I don’t do that. But if I have ever done that in the past then I apologize. It was an oversight. I do get a lot of original content, way more than any other blogger in this country. Some of the biggest news stories in this country in recent times was broken by LIB. From Goldie’s death (God rest her soul) Aluu4, ABSU rape, P-Square saga, Solomon Akiyesi and plenty more. And when I take news from other sources, I always credit them. When I don’t give credit is when the news is everywhere so I write it in my own words and make it mine. I don’t believe that is a crime. I admit that I have used photos without giving credit. I apologize. That will never happen again. You learn every day. And I have learnt from this.

Now about Mr Aye Dee. Let me start from the very beginning so you guys understand what really happened. Like I said earlier, this was not about copyright or plagiarism. It was personal. Very personal. In 2009 or 2010…(not sure) a guy named Alex who used to run 1976AD blog contacted me. He said he was impressed with my work and wanted to encourage me to never relent. Alex Info 1976AD (how I knew him back then) and I became very good friends online. In fact he was my confidant. Every time I had questions or challenges, I would reach out to him.

By 2011, Alex 1976AD and I became quite close…online. We even exchanged numbers and spoke a few times. He always reminded me how proud of me he was. He told me I would one day become a phenomenon. I wasn’t number one at the time but he told me that I would one day be the biggest news site in Nigeria…that he believed in me that much. He was my friend, my supporter; he sent me news to post on my blog. He wanted me to succeed. He told me things to do to get more readers. He knew a lot about the internet and how it works so I always went to him for advice. He was my anchor.

In 2011, Alex 1976AD made me his blog’s Person of the Year 2011. I shared that post excitedly on my blog. He said I was the most deserving Nigerian for the award that year…and he wrote the most beautiful article about me. He was so proud of me…and never hesitated to tell me. I was grateful. I was happy to have him as a friend...even though we'd never met.

Then we stopped talking. I sincerely can’t remember when exactly. I know that Alex 1976AD tried to reach out to me mid last year…but I can’t remember if I responded. If I didn’t, it was an oversight. I’m really bad at replying mails because I get so many and I’m always busy blogging…but anyway.

On Wednesday around 2.07pm…my long lost friend Alex Info 1976AD contacted me via gmail chat. I was so happy when I saw his name pop up. I was like yay…Alex 1976AD! He would know what I should do in this situation. I thought he was reaching to me after all this while because he’d seen all the craziness going on and wanted to lend support…but what he said to me next shocked me to my bone marrow. He said ‘I hope u’re sitting down’. Thankfully I was because I would have literally fallen if I hadn’t been sitting.

You see, my good friend and biggest supporter Alex 1976AD told me he was Mr Aye Dee. The same guy who started this. The guy that got Google to shut down my blog. It wasn’t about plagiarism or copyright infringement…it was about a scorned former friend. It was about love turning to hate because he felt I’d abandoned him after I became big.
Read the full coversation and you will be shocked, it took me an hour to. www.lindaikeji..com/2014/10/between-linda-ikeji-and-mr-aye-dee-real.html?m=1

Car Talk › Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by adanny01(m): 2:58am On Oct 09, 2014
Macmilla:
Please pals, I drive a 2001 accord and I have the following issues.
1. The revolution of the engine does not pass 4000r/min. When I step on the throttle, the engine speed rises but once the tachometer hits 4000r/min, the engine starts jerking and will not go higher. This is noticed both when the car is stationary and when mobile and affects me when speeding off. It drives smoothly if I don't push the engine. I have changed my spark plugs, changed fuel pump, cleaned air filter, all to no avail. Please help.

2. I noticed that if I turn my steering to extreme angle, my engine goes down and comes up again when I release it a little. Is this normal?
Please help.
1. Its called the Rev limiter or engine speed limiter.

A rev. limiter is a device fitted to an internal combustion engine to restrict its maximum rotational speed. This is usually carried out to prevent damage to the engine, however sometimes these devices are fitted to prevent an engine reaching the point at which it develops maximum power. www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rev_limiter
Usually, it is set to limit the engine revolution within the white area preventing possible damage at the red zone of the tachometer.

I have experienced change in the limits each time i washed the engine bay of my 1996 and 2003 Honda accords. The '96 will drop to about 3200r/min until i drive the car for some hours sometimes into a day or two depending on my movements. The '03 was the one that gave me a real scare because the limit wasnt constant and at times as low as 2000r/min. I washed the '03's engine just twice but had that experience once only. Now, on a good day the limit is sometimes 4000r/min and most times about 5000r/min.

If you didnt wash, then there may be a problem (probably related to lit CEL) causing the ECU to limit the engine speed as a precaution.

2. Yes its normal since the power steering pump would have taken up more power to make the turn smoother just like an A/C compressor would do. More light to that is that, in a car with electronic trottle system, the rev goes up automatically to accomodate for the additional power required at idle. So the idle speed is controlled by ECU to go up when A/C compressor, power steering, or alternator activates.

I do expect the 05 camry to have an immobilizer.

I always wonder how thiefs pass that security within a minute.

I have had these thoughts that the two ways to achieve that in such a little time in most robbery cases are very simple and obvious.

1. Car dealer or previous owner havingy duplicate keys.
2. Swapping of ECU with a specially programmed ECU for the purpose of ignoring the immobilizer system.

It is easy for a car dealer to either duplicate or program an extra key before selling the car to a buyer. The new owner uses his car for sometime and thinks his car is secured only for the car dealer to track, show up and pick the car within a blink of an eye.

Similarly, am sure ECUs of these cars which have no immobilizer programed in them can be sourced and used as universal ECUs just for stealing cars. However, this method will also affect the overall success of the theft with regards to time to access the ecu harness.

My humble opinion

Car Talk › I Met The Devil Himself On 4 Wheels by adanny01(op): 11:47pm On Sep 25, 2014
This evening, I was driving through a street in Uyo. The street was just enough for two cars side by side but not for 3 especially while driving. I was doing like 20km/hr with my headlights at Lo (dipped beam) as i usually do on streets with street lighting or on that low speed. There were cars parked but the devil himself was approaching at an estimated speed of 30km/hr with his headlights on Hi (full beam). Lucky for me, our estimated point of passage had no cars parked so i estimated that at our current speed, it was very safe for both of us.

Rather unfortunate, since Mr Devil had his lights in good condition and on Hi, it was irritating to me. So i toggled my lights to Hi and back to Lo and waited 2 secs expecting him to dip his beam in response. There was non since i was dealing with the devil himself. I thought of doing what i sometimes do, i did it i.e i switched my lights to Hi and lets see who has better lights since i was driving a high SUV with excellent lights that immitated the sun. Of course i knew mine was better.

His reaction was one that was only expected of the devil himself and at this point we were close. Mr D toggled his lights from Hi to Lo and back to Hi in a second then moved further into my lane at the middle coming at his maintained speed. 2 meters from an imminent collision i swerved heading for the open drainage while applying brakes. I stopped at the edge of the drainage while he brushed my car starting from the rear fender flares to my rear bumper increasing in intensity. Mr Devil had done his worst still driving up the road at the middle without looking back, slowing down or at least braking. He joined the dual carriage way (Ikot ekpene rd) which was where i was coming from and speed off while i rushed out to 'nurse my wounds'. Mr D drove a '93 or there about Nissan Sunny painted in the township taxi colours of Akwa ibom st. If not for the difference in height of the two cars, my loss (he won) would have been gross.

Lesson learnt, NEVER TO DARE THE DEVIL HIMSELF ON OUR NEXT MEETING.

erico2k2: As for places without Oxygen try the atmosphere, scientist are arguing about the presence of oxygen in the Moon and mars till date. You said Air gets into the Combustion Chamber from natural source without inducement of any kind, so if that's the case how does it get controlled to give the right amount?don't forget the Air in question is 21%oxygen(This is what the Engine uses) and 78%Nitrogen the Engine don't need and passes through. These Jagons I just wrote up there are contained i n the Combustion Equation hence I stated it up there.Thats what chemically goes on in the Engine, the bit b4 the= sign is the Engine the bit after is the exhaust or end product that goes to the Cat converter.
Am sure you dont have an intention to use your engine in Mars or the moon. Engines that we have been designing are for use on earth with few that are used on space shuttles foe that purpose. You just challenged me to research on the space shuttles and the engines.

The earths atmosphere starts from sea level up to 100km altitude and this contains mainly Nitrogen then oxygen et al as you said. Air is measured by Atmospheric pressure and this decreases with higher altitude. At high altitudes a human may suffer altitude sickness or faint not because oxygen is deminished in the air but because the atmospheric pressure at which the lungs is made to work is now too low. On the flip side, breathing below the sea level is very difficult because the pressure at that level is very high and goes even higher if you go further below. Its not lack of oxygen but either high or low atmospheric pressure. Same reason why aeroplane cabins are pressurized.

Now, to achieve compression, the combustion chamber has to be air tight and open up to let in air and fuel. These types of engines draw in air by the simple act of downward movement of the piston hence the name 'Naturally aspirated'. Other types of performance engines employ induced aspiration with the turbo chargers and the superchargers. We should be limiting ourselves on this thread to an ordinary engine which gets its oxygen source from nowhere but the atmosphere just like you breath since you dont buy it or store it. Even the engines that get induced get oxygen free and in abundance. The question even says 'things you need', am sure you have oxygen already so you dont need what you already have. What you need is fuel, ignition and compression.

Lastly, control of air (butterfly valve) is necessary, same as the control of fuel (injectors using oxygen sensors and ecu), ignition timing (using coil packs and ecu) and even 'compression timing' which is relative to the valve timing, piston rings optimization with names that you hear like twin cam, iVTEC, VVTi etc. All these things need to be controlled cos they are required to work and rely on each together. If nothing is controlled then the engine might turn out to be a bomb!

Chips is fried not cooked. You could fry the fish too.

If it is boiled fish, you need water and thats cooking.

So in relation, the engine needs oxygen, thats for sure its available already as a constant so what do you really need. Fuel, ignition and compression.

Your answer would be like:
Egusi
Meat
Fish
Crayfish
Seasoning cubes
Salt
Onions
Pepper
Palm oil
Pumpkin leaf (ogu)

The list is complete even though there are other ingredients other people will use to make their desired taste such as tomatoes, kpomo etc. Basically, the list is complete.

Of cource water, is needed to cook every food, it does not appear on the list of the ingredients because it is a common constant for every cooking.

I hope you get my point now.
Car Talk › Re: What Three Things Does An Engine Need To Run? by adanny01(m): 10:43pm On Sep 23, 2014
erico2k2: Oxygen is not necessary natural there are places with nature where there is no oxygen .Lets go back to the Engine, Like I stated earlier, for combustion to take place there must be oxygen o2 or else the chemical process will never take place, The valves controls inlet and outlets which forms part of the drive train controlled by ur ECU.This why you have the O2 Sensors.
Ideally an engine takes in Air (Oxygen and Nitrogen) and fuel (hydrocarbons) and produecs CO2, H2O, and the N2 just passes straight through. The chemical equation is as follows. 2 C8H18 (gas) + 25 O2 = 16 CO2 + 18H2O
We dont need to go into chemistry before we explain what oxygen is to combustion. I have done that years ago in my secondary school days. This is not an argument on the role of oxygen in combustion.

You need to understand the question before you can give a correct answer.

Air is a naturally occuring element that contains oxygen. The engine by default sucks in fuel with air. The fuel is an introduced element in the engine, so is the spark but oxygen finds its way there from natural sources.

You said there are places where there is no oxygen, where is that if i may ask? Cos even aeroplanes that fly at 4000ft above the ground use the naturally occuring oxygen available in the air to run its jet engines. There is no where on the earths atmosphere where the is no oxygen. The only difference is that the amount of oxygen in the air varies with altitude so aeroplanes rely on air compressors to increase the amount of oxygen delivery to the engines.

To get a perfect running engine, the air, fuel and spark must be control and timed. But air gets to the combustion chamber from natural sources and without inducement of anykind to run the engine.

To answer the question of the 3 things necessary to run an engine, the best ans is fuel, spark and compression. When the engine starts running you will need others like controled timing, lubrication, cooling etc

The source of oxygen is natural thats why i may not be counted.

You are right with regards to fuel and spark but the third is compression not air as that is a constant. Compression harnesses the energy produced in the combustion and thats what runs the engine.

erico2k2: I got the Answer lol
1 Fuel(Igniti0n)
2 Power(Spark)
3 Air(C0mpression)
Air is not compression. The piston causes the compression then transmits the resultant energy produced by the combustion for the engine to run.

As CityNG has said, air is a naturally occuring element which will always be present so should be treated as a constant. As a matter of fact an equipment such as a vacuum pump must be used if air isnt needed.

In addition, ignition and spark is synonymous. Power is an end result or output of a running engine so cannot be an input.

CityNG: You are of course right but I always wonder why the assumption that proper timing is present.
The engine is complicated that it cannot just be reduced to three important things.

As long as the injection and ignition timing isnt right, compression is out. As the engine tries to run other factors must come in to achieve the aim.

CityNG: So you were close but even with no dedicated air supply the fuel will still burn. We're not talking about a vacuum though so air will still be present.

A heady attempt Sir.
I dont get the bold cos its a principle of burning for oxygen to be present.

Are you refering to forced induction engines, cos i dont see any other way?

Air/fuel, compression, ignition (spark)

I almost didnt want to include compression, but no engine will ever run without it. So is the same with the others.

Air/fuel makes it look like the list has gone beyond 3 things but the two are basically inexclusive.
Politics › Re: El Rufai Has Been Quiet About The Nigerian Military Victory Over Boko Haram by adanny01(m): 10:17pm On Sep 22, 2014
dedons: I'm surprised to observe that the former minister of the FCT and a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress(APC),Mallam Nasir El Rufai is yet to make a comment on the victory which the Nigerian army has so far recorded in the north eastern part of the country in recent time.

He has been at the fore-front of always condemning the Nigerian army on the fight against the Boko-haram terrorists.

Is it that he is not aware of the latest happenings in the north-east?

Is he still preparing what to tweet this time?

Or did he just intentionally decide to be quiet?

Please I need your opinions.
I think you are deluded.

Where on earth will you find a critic celebrating the success of his adversary? It is simple logic that if your adversary fails, you beat him for it but it is different when he succeeds. Usually its a silent treament waiting for the next time the adversary will goof. Thats why the only way to shut a critic up is to succeed. Praise is the last thing you should expect from a critic.

In this case, the adversary still has alot to do, praise is the last thing expected for this cheap score when sponsors of BH are still dinning, wining and awarded. This win looks more political than a BH knock out punch. Se gov dey win now, well will only know for real after 2015.

Shut it in the mean time.
