Am not too familiar with newer cars, but i know older cars have a cable to the gear box which can go bad or cut. This cable issue causes the selector to misbehave. Like the car can engage D without showin on the dash or vise versa.
It could also be from the safety release button which stops the gear from accidentally engaging park when moving.
Try using ur spare key in manual override slot when next it happens.
Also for the fact that it becomes difficult to remove P on a slope means it may be mechanical though it is a little normal to hear a sound and a little hard for slopes.

My 97 accord timing belt caused havoc when it cut a month ago, had to spend 30k for every thing it destroyed. It destroyed Oil pump, engine sensor, and the 8 valves. The belt wrapped the sensor pulled it from its sitting broke it to pieces and also wrapped around a bolt on the oil pump that created a hole which the engine oil was pumped out and splashed everywhere.

For starters, any1 who says camry parts are cheap has been fed garbage by his car dealer. Am sure theyve never bought a honda part b4.
My opinion and facts.
In jos, accord bonnet cost 12k while camry is 25k. Priced it my self today. Camry shocks is 9k each while accord is 7k both new. Trafficator front for camry is 14k, imagin? A fender 4 camry is 14k while accord is 8k. Every other part goes about the same margin.
In general accord is cheaper in buyin and maintaining. My comparison is based on 2000 model of both cars.
Toyota generally runs more quiet than honda. Honda accelerates better, honda's dashboard and upholstery is better. Honda will visit the mechanic more frequently owing to gear box, driving shafts and those ball joints. Toyota has better ac. 98-02 camry has poor ground clearance especially with full load. Honda has more boot space and leg room.
