North213:The bolded is plain deceit. |
News flying around is that the King is dead. Is all on social media. Earlier, his wife was released. This is seriously not the end of the matter. |
You mean ABS module? i.e Pump and control module. 35k from my last inquiry. |
opomulero:Mine. 1500 at cold start. Gradually drops down to 800 and stay there with or without A/C. Drops to 750 when on gear with or without A/C. |
Rexnegro:And so, go use Google update yourself or go hug transformer. |
Rexnegro:This is no mere title. He is a monarch, the King of Adara people. They are a tribe. |
dabrin:This poster most be mad. Instead of cutting the ring he is thinking of cutting the finger, nawa o. No everyone has common sense. |
bixton:Oh yes |
diordaves:With regards to the bolded. In most cases, architectural designs are pretty straight forward. Most of the challenge engineers face is the lack of site experience of some inexperienced architects, especially with regards to grid lines and dimensions. An engineers job is easier if he can export the architects grid lines and work from there but in most cases, an engineer cannot. This leads to building the engineers grid lines from the scratch. True, during design an engineer may need to clarify from the architect if there is a missing or ambiguous object. |
diordaves:Agreed |
bixton:A lot of words are synonymous to each other, besides, i have trying to explain the implications of saying an architect supervises the engineers. If you agree that the undertaking "implies that the professional will adhere to approved acceptable procedures in carrying out his work", that means you agree that an architect cannot supervise what he is not responsible for? When you supervise, you are responsible. It is not an ego contest, its a fact. I have worked under architects before and still work with architects. |
bixton:Bro, you cant be serious about the bolded. Do you know that even the vetting engineer is partly responsible for issuing building permit? Its obvious you dont understand the implications but as an engineer, i do. Because its not your responsibility as an architect you want to think its an ordinary letter. That ordinary letter will put several engineers in jail in an event of a building collapse. You sound like an architect, building permits are responsibilities of engineers and you obviously think is just an ordinary letter. Please leave our profession to us. I know my responsibilities well. Undertaking Definition: formal pledge or promise to do something It is formal, and not to be taken lightly. An undertaking is professional responsibility of safety without which there is no building permit. It is a legal document o! Architect's dont commit their professional integrity to a building like an engineer does. Please give due, recognition to the engineers. |
bixton:When i say undertaking, i dont mean sealing ordinary drawings. I mean a "letter of undertaking" signed and sealed. This is different to signing and sealing of drawings. This is a requirement for building permit. Ask yourself why is the engineers undertaking a requirement for building permit and not an architect. An architect cannot claim to supervise me when he is not going to sign my undertaking. |
bixton:The bolded is the problem. Achieveable means safe in this context. How could one who is not a civil engineer ensure that the design is safe? How will he know? How will the architect know the design is safe? Even if it is not safe, the architect is not responsible for it. In saner climes, the engineer signs an undertaking that it is safe and is responsible for the failure. The engineers signs the undertaking leveraging his life and career on that assurance. Why should the architect bother when its not his responsibility? Let me ask you this question, with all the building collapse in Nigeria, have you ever heard where an architect is being investigated for culpability in the collapse especially if the architect is not the contractor? 3 people are responsible for a building failure, the client, engineers (foundation and structural) and the contractor (builder). An architect is never responsible for safety. |
bixton:Every professional job has an input and an output. An architect cannot satisfy a client without an input. The architect's input is the questions he asks the client or the idea the client has for the building. This translates to an output as a building design. The architect's building design is the structural engineers input. The structural engineers output is a safe structural design. A foundation engineer's input is a safe structural design. His output is a safe foundation design. A quantity surveyor's input is the all drawings including architectural, structural, foundation etc. The output is a BOQ. The architect is not responsible for all these professional jobs and cannot supervise. He collects all the output to use in management of the project. And so forth. Now, the main reason why the architect cannot supervise the engineers is that he cannot be responsible for the safety of the building during construction and life span. Long after the building is put to use, the Engineers are still responsible for the structural integrity of the building. This is why an engineers design is his responsibility and cannot be subjected to an architect's supervision. |
Rubbiish:One simple question for you. A civil engineer basically does 2 things with an architectural building design, he analyzes then design the structural members. Which one does the architect participates in, structural analysis or structural design? The architect's output is the civil engineer's input, the civil engineer's output is either a failed or a safe design. There is no part of civil engineering that is subject to an architect's supervision. i.e to supervise is to observe and direct the execution of (a task or activity). In this case, an architect cannot direct structural analysis neither can he direct structural design. An architect determines the design input but cannot determine the output. If a civil engr does not have the mental capacity to achieve a safe design on an architect's design just like in the case of burg el arab, the architect is at liberty to consult another civil engineer with the required mental capacity. It is not because one tried and failed and the other tried and succeeded that it means the architect ensured the design. Lastly, this same situation exist in most professions, a Surgeon relies on an Anesthesiologist, both who are doctors. It doesn't say the surgeon supervises the anesthesiologist. The surgeon basically demands an output from the Anesthesiologist which if one cannot get him the desired output, he moves on to the next anesthesiologist until he gets the desired output or quit trying. The burg el arab architect kept seeking for that output from different civil engineers till one gave him the right output without which his idea would have remained an idea. An architect doesnt need to supervise a structural design to get the right output. |
Old news. However, why is the thread a PMB bashing thread when the matter has no connection whatsoever to PMB or the Nigerian government and didnt even happen on the Nigerian soil? I am sorry for this internet generation o! |
diportivo:Its very easy. Except that i recommend you wash the reservoir with petrol and dry it before reinstalling. The reservoir has a filter in it. |
diportivo:Did it work? |
EternalTruths:Who are the MB people? Majority of them come from the NW and SW fyi. |
Chizzyjoyce:Walahi PDP is sleeping. They better wake up from their slumber, Hausa and Yoruba have a pact that is difficult to break. |
NaijaRoyalty:That should be least of your worries. Just think of what the NW and SW can do. They've always anointed the president since 1999. Its no different now. They gave GEJ the upper cut. |
nairavsdollars:Personally, i dont entertain such thoughts. Why wont he? May 29 is sacrosanct. Any attempt by anyone, Buhari or otherwise to shift this date is undemocratic and not acceptable. |
mayor2013:Warning, long epistle. Back then, my mum used a 1996 accord. We had serious PS issues with the car starting from when my dad decided based on one corrupt mechanic's advise to change the PS pump that was leaking PS fluid. A "toks" pump was installed but failed the next day. I returned the car to same mechanic but guess what, he said he threw it away and someone must have carried it . For more than a year we changed 3 more pumps, all gave up within less than a week.My mum wrestled with that steering for over a year until i travelled for a wedding with the car to Jalingo, Taraba state. The alternator gave up. I got a toks and used the mechanic to do some other checks on the car. After the repairs, the mechanic drove the car and was disappointed about the steering. He recommended his boy check it but i was skeptical. He insisted, i obliged. Luckily, i had the 2 non working pumps in the boot. This mechanic bought N500 fuel, chose 2 of the pumps, opened both then chose one. Washed it throughout, bleed the steering rack of all PS oil (ATF). He bought 1 litre of road side drum engine oil. Reinstalled everything back. Voila! It took 3 years before we had any issue(steering hose leak). On my own car, 2003 accord, i had a steering rack seal leak January this year. A mechanic said he can change the seal. He did the change successfully but used Seahorse Dexron III ATF to refill the PS system. Steering was perfect, so I thought. Drove to a filling station to add fuel during that fuel crisis, the steering totally went out on me, i almost crashed into a parked car. PS was totally out and pump whinning/fuming. I thought air was getting into the system. Managed to park in the fuel queue. 10mins later line moved, started engine and steering came back perfectly. Line moving slowly, 2mins later whine started and PS went out again. From then on, 2mins after restarting the car it will go out and 10mins if its a cold start. The pump will be untouchable due to how hot it was. The next one month i did several DIYs, installed clips in all joints, tried all bleeding methods, washed the PS fluid reserve tank and up to 5 total pump disassemblies tweeking one thing or the other each time. The frequency of the problem reduced when i spilled the PS fluid in the reserve tank and filled with engine oil. So it was part ATF part engine oil. This time, ps never goes out completely but whining is present just like before. I took the car to Panteka Kaduna, (for those who know), they do some magic with parts there. The recommended PS pump specialist inspected the car, dipped his pinky finger in the PS pump fluid, then told me, you have no problem. He said, "go drain the entire PS fluid and put in engine oil". I bought 1 litre Forte Visco 2000 engine oil (red coloured). Read up on how to change PS oil. Removed the reserved tank, emptied and washed it with petrol. Put a 75cl eva water bottle in the ps return pipe. Ran the engine until ATF stopped flowing. Reinstalled the tank, filled with engine oil, ran the engine for 10 secs. Topped the engine oil again. Ran engine for 20secs. Gauged it. Viola! Till this moment, no whine, no whatsoever. |
nemadfsyahooc:Infact, its better to use ordinary engine oil on Honda power steering than any ATF you see. Trust me, first hand experience (2003 accord). Honda ps fluid has more viscosity than any ATF but less than engine oil. ATF in the power steering will cause overheating, then pump starts whining, then leaking, then pump knocks out. More viscosity is more stress for the pump but more lubrication. The pump will be better off with engine oil than ATF if oem PS fluid is not affordable. If possible light weight engine oil like 5w30 or 40. |
Str8talk21:Thats it. Thats the flaw i picked. Different styles of roofing sheet have different overlap dimensions. I actual buying, the whole thing will still be recalculated to take account of lapping. Secondly, the area method increases waste. The most precise method is the length method. This takes care of cut to use and cut to waste. |

Thank you for this eye opener. Meanwhile, i used the information to engage their Twitter handler. It seems they cannot help cause he kept posting me back and forth. After my last received packet, 2 weeks went by and no packet came when i was still expecting 5 of 9 items ordered. I thought they hijacked my packets as punishment for complaining. I went by to inquire if i had a packet to collect but non. I recieved a call this morning that i have a packet. So i emailed my complain to pmg@nipost.com.ng which i found on their website. I was promptly called by the pmg's assistant, he asked me to go get packet and not to ask for receipt or argue but do as they ask, then call him before leaving. I did as he asked and called, he asked me to give the phone to the person who attended to me. The man refused saying he is not authorized to speak for the office. I asked, "who is?". He said, "he is not around". The man over the phone asked me to tell him if he does not take the phone his job is on the line. Instead, I begged the attendant to have a min conversation as it is just to confirm somethings. He accepted the phone, answered some few questions but at a point refused to talk and handed back the phone to me that he cannot answer further questions. The man over the phone said he has gotten what he needed and will take it up from there then get back to me. From his tone, he was furious. So far, i have spent N2500 to receive 5 packets worth $6.73 cumulatively (approx the same amount) weighing 0.040, 0.030, 0.013, 0.050 and 0.030kg. This is our last Twitter convo

candygist:Them no go wise. Them no wise after 2015, na now them go wise. Igbos political miscalculation started in 1966, them no wise till tomorrow. |
mycar:You are being sentimental in your thinking. Eligiblity does not translate to vote. In Nigeria, when a polling unit decides to give a particular candidate their votes, no one can go against that. An Igbo man going amidst 200 Hausa people to vote an unpopular candidate should not expect to get home unhurt. |
TundeBricklayer:By this, do you mean the north will vote Atiku just because he is Muslim. Big big FAUL. When dealing with the NW, you have to be ready to deal with 1. Religious sentiment 2. Ethnic sentiment 3. Regional sentiment By this i mean that, the issue in 2015 was Religious sentiment, 2019 it will be Ethnicity. In 2023 it might be regional sentiment. It is obvious, NW will not leave Buhari now or in future. Dont forget NW + Lagos is the swing arrangement. |
PassingShot:Seriously, this old analysis is showing up giving these guys false hope. They have not learnt anything from GEJs loss. |
biafranation:Hmmmmm With your view of the polity, an Igbo will always be left behind in the scheme of things. The 20% you are peddling for Igbos in Kaduna is a mirage. I am from Kaduna. Even if Igbos are 20% like you said, they wont be allowed to vote in 90% of the polling centres. In most cases, Igbos in these areas stay indoors. They dont join politics and are most times not allowed to come near polling units. The same way Igbos refuse to participate during religious crisis, the refuse to participate in political activities. |
