[quote author=ahnie post=118309054]Yesterday I visited the mall to get toiletries, snacks and beverages for my gangs It was an impromptu buying. I was actually dodging from buying it, but my gangs just wouldn't let me. We got all we wanted, ate and arrived home with our loots. I was trying to fit all we bought inside the kitchen, when I heard the voice of a neighbor, like she stays 2 compound away from mine. She's a widow who recently lost her husband to the cold hands of death this year (June) precisely and saddled with the lone responsibility of taking care of her 3 lil boys She came to buy fufu (akpu) for her sons to eat. I don't know what prompted me, I invited her inside my pavement, then slashed my loots into 3 places then gave her 1 part including a crate of egg idling away. She started crying ,father lawd I was confused the more, you needed to see the joys in her face. I knew my kids needed those things badly, but here was a woman who needed it more than us. I have planned gifting her 2 paints of rice during Xmas period to put smiles on her face. May God make things easier for every one of us. The economy is hard at the moment, but let's try and help one another. People are going thru alot, it takes the grace of God for some people to even afford 1 square meal. Hers was pics 1. Pics 3&4 for my gangs Pics 2.....my boy refused sharing his and he held on to his loot [God bless you bro] |
Health › Re: I Saved An Accident Victim's Life And I'm Proud Of It by adebopo: 11:38pm On Nov 07, 2022 |
Centurion101: I write this story to encourage people to always help if they are in a position to do so, especially is the situation is dire. What goes around comes around and you might just find yourself in a situation where you Will need help from strangers and hope they help you too.
Days ago I was in my neighborhood in South West running some errands at around 9pm on Sunday when I found myself in a very busy road packed to the brim end to end with cars stuck in a hold up trying to beat the jam to get to Thier respective destinations.
I turned the ignition off since I've already spent like 20minutes without moving an inch, a few seconds later I heard a loud bang it was a speeding bike who wanted to use it's small size to it's advantage to beat the traffic, upon close inspection I realized the bike has Just hit a guy with full force and ran away.
Consequently people came out to check on the guy that was hit,he was unconscious bleeding from the back of his head and face, unfortunately the bike's force banged him right into a very big cement structure that would probably weigh a couple of tons.
Nigerians being Nigerians started praying and speaking in tongues instead of administering aid to the guy, nobody was willing to touch him, there were just shouting and saying he is probably dead and they don't want police to charge them with his death.
At this point I tried to control the crowd to disperse and at least give this guy room to breathe and get some fresh air hoping that might resuscitate him,but there were like 50people gathering there and there is only so much a single person can do.
So realizing no one was willing to help this guy I fought my way through them ruggedly to get to the guy I realized he has a broken leg and arm and he was bleeding heavily but he has a pulse and he is not dead, I don't know what I was thinking or what power came over me but the fact that he is alive made a difference to me and I said to myself I will take him to the hospital even if I have to carry him on my back and trek there. I asked a man to help me Carry him, he asked do I know the victim and I answered yes,he is my junior brother.
so they helped me lift him up and I carried him on my back and began to speed, now the next thing was how to get transportation,we are in a hold up and no car is moving, by this point the crowds has dispersed and left me alone to tend to my PROBLEM.
I locked my car , sat the guy close to the side of the road ,I tried to find something that could apply pressure to reduce the bleeding, then it dawned on me that a cloth will do just fine,so I removed my shirt and tied it around his leg where he was bleeding the most.
Like I said earlier the task at hand was how to get transportation to the closest hospital, I began flagging down bikes but none of them stopped out of fear until I literarily ran in front of one forcing him to stop and told him to take me to the next hospital,I was about to start begging him to not let this guy die because of fear when this guy got down from his bike offering to help lift him so we can take him to the hospital,I don't know if it's God that sent him or it was just pure luck but he helped and we put the victim in the middle and started our journey to the hospital.
On the way I checked the guy's pulse and breathing like every second, telling him he's going to live one way or the other because my work will not be in vain. As God will have it he opened his eyes but he was still incoherent and totally out of it ,but at least now his eyes is opened and he is not laying down like a dead man, that kind of gave me an atom of hope.
Moments later we arrived at a private hospital and they were just about to close, apparently they had some issues with the workers that were supposed to cover a night shift, infact there was only one doctor on call and a few nurses around so it was all hands on deck, the victim was stretched in and as per private hospital wahala they demanded card and treatment fee up front, I even begged them to at least priorities the guy's life first but they said no money no treatment,so I paid for card, admission fee and treatment, it was 33,000 naira
After payment the doctor came in with the nurses and started working Thier magic, giving him some injections , cleaning his wounds, they even plugged him up with something that aided his breathing (I don't know what the thing is called).
After a couple of hours around 11:30pm the doctors came out and told me he was stable, that he had some internal bleedings that has Been stopped and he is responding fine to the treatment, they said I can go and see him if I wanted.
I went into the ward and checked up on him,he was heavily medicated and he couldn't really say anything that makes sense,he was just fixated on my face, strolling in and out of consciousness.
I slept in the hospital and the following morning around 8am he was awake and fine ,so I went to see him and when he saw me,he just started crying uncontrollably saying THANK YOU like a hundred times without stopping, this kind of made me a bit emotional because I've not really seen a lot of grown men cry. He gave me his phone and I contacted his family members and told them what Happened, his mother almost passed out on the call, some minutes later they all rushed into the hospital. I peeked at them through the glass window when they went to his ward, the relief and joy in Thier faces is one of the most beautiful things I've seen in my life.
I left my number with the nurses there and told them to give to the guy when he is discharged and I made my way down to fetch my car, hoping and praying fervently that the car is still there and that was it.
That 33k was the best thing I've paid for in all my life and what happened just gave me joy and relief anytime I think about it.
The guy and his parents calls me like a billion times a day, they even offered to pay me back but I refused, collecting the money back is not worth the joy I got from doing what I did. God bless you bro |

I can imagine what your daughter is going through in the hand of a family that lacks the financial wherewithal to take care of basic medicare. I can conveniently refer to you as wicked for releasing your daughter to that kind of family. Are you sure she is feeding well? She made a mistake right, but you made an even greater one by throwing her out to be devoured by that verocious thing you called her boyfriend. Someone who can't afford basic medicare! E wicked Sir. Go and get the girl and her little daughter out of that dungeon before that poor boyfriend impregnate her again. I don't think you understand the psychology of such ferociously poor guys, they live and swim in poverty, do nothing about their live and hope a miracle will happen one day and they'll eventually get out of their miseries. Deliver your daughter and her little girl now. The truth has been told. God bless you. |

Romance › Re: The First Surprise Birthday I've Ever Gotten by adebopo: 12:15am On Jul 08, 2021 |
aboyaji: Hello Nairalanders!
I'd like to write on the surprise birthday I got from the people (my girlfriend and her sister) that love me dearly.
On the 2nd of July, I got a call from my engineer friend who lives in my former place of residence. He had informed me in the morning of a real estate deal ( I am into real estate too). He stressed that he visited my new place the penultimate day which was on the first of July and he'd like me to come over to his place in the evening for more information. I replied in the affirmative and dropped the call.
Fast forward to the evening, I came back then dropped off at a friend's shop who sells footwears by 4 through 6pm. Shortly after, my girlfriend and her sister strolled passed the vicinity where I was. They told me they were on their way home to prepare rice and that this time there's little funds and high cost of food stuffs in the market that the rice would be a red oil rice and they were inviting me over for a RED OIL RICE BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION in their home. I smiled and bade them bye.
That was when I remembered my business meeting with my engineer friend. I strolled to his place in a long sleeve shirt and shorts with bathroom flipflops.
Arrive this friend's apartment, we talked over the deal with inclusion of another friend of his before he asked me to follow him to SOMEWHERE.
I told them that my birthday was that same day and I wasn't celebrating anything. He laughed at me and his girlfriend chased me down with pure water.
I came back and wore my flipflops and offer we left for the SOMEWHERE. We strolled through some streets and gardens and towards Dunamis Church. I thought we were going to pray since he wasn't precise about the place we were headed. Suddenly, we passed the church. In all the walkabouts, we were engaged in serious unending gists. From Nigeria problems to Donald Trump wahala and all before we found ourselves inside a hotel.
He asked me to wait for him that he was looking for someone and in my mind, that should be the client for the real estate business. He checked and came back and suggested we had a seat for a while and wait.
We patiently waited and had our phones charged. I wrote some stories while we waited and he read it and shared his insights too. Then I saw my girlfriend walk past us and into somewhere I didn't know. I became uneasy. Shortly, I rose and confirmed what my eyes saw but met her sister there too. A little while, his own fiancé came and met us and sat patiently too.
Then I told my friend that I saw my girlfriend in this hotel and said maybe they came to see a family friend. But on a normal, she would tell where and who was taking them out beforehand. But this time, NOTHING OF SUCH.
My friend said maybe she has explanation to make later. Maybe, it came as emergency and no airtime. I said Yes, it could be the fact.
8:00pm my friend received a call and asked for us to go home that the person wasn't coming anymore. I unplugged my phone and off we made out. Then, he said he'd like to check something around the pool side in the hotel. I followed him....
Immediately I advanced into the arena... There was a chorused scream and shout of HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!
Guys, my head literally BURST into bits. All the friends I have were in attendance. All... Men and female alike.
So, he knew all along... Something I never envisaged... Something I hadn't experienced... Something I least expected from my girlfriend and her sister because they are barely managing their low income. HBD |

alBHAGDADI: Do you all remember the story of King Solomon and the two women?
Let me bring you up to speed.
Both women were mothers with suckling babies. One night, one of the women discovered that her baby was dead. She immediately kept the dead baby by the other woman who was fast asleep and took her living baby. When the second woman woke up, she discovered the dead baby by her side and also discovered that it is not hers.
The case was dragged before King Solomon who passed judgment. The wicked women said the living baby is hers, while the original mother also said the baby is hers.
To know who the true mother is, King Solomon ordered that the baby be split into two with a sword with each woman getting a half.
The original mother cried her eyes out knowing fulling well that such would mean that the baby will die. The wicked woman welcomed the judgment and said it should be executed, knowing fully well that the baby will die, thereby ending up like her own dead baby.
That is the situation in Ilorin today. The Muslims don't mind seeing the school owned by Christians burnt to the ground over a piece of sweaty rag call hijab. That is what gave them the effrontery to throw stones into the house of the Living God, a thing that has heaped generational curses on them. Their own god is dead and buried in Saudi, so they don't mind seeing another person's God die. Sadly for them, they are fighting a lost battle because our God is risen and ever Living. He's the beginning and the end.
Glory be onto Jesus. With him, we are more than conquerors. let's be rational when addressing issues, you're not different from those causing this havoc by talking negatively about other people's belief And God. may God let us be able to live together in peace and love each other no matter our religion differences . |
