I dont know why people refuse to learn and know the truth. The Benin have documented and verified traditional history while the Yorubas have only oral history which is not verified though. The Oba of Benin never leaves Benin Empire, but this present Oba some few years back visited Lagos and some few yoruba traditional cities and in the presence of the ooni of Ife, Oba of Lagos and other Yoruba manarchs, The Benin Oba lectured them about the origin of Ife (which was founded by a Benin Prince one Ekalendiran or so) if all Yoruba monarch to this day has refused to deny this fact, I wonder where nairaland yorubas get their fact.
Dont forget the yorubas have more than one version of Oduduwa story(which one them come believe na).
Even today, it is an open secret that before Eyo festival in Lagos Island is done, there must be certain things that must be obtained from Benin. Do not forget that the original Eyo juju was brought from Benin and the name EKO was given to lagos by a Benin Monarch.

With the actions of this eternal hero, I will forever be proud of the Nigerian Police. No matter their deficiencies they still keep the country protected. He died for others to live and paid the supreme sacrifice.

Sgt Badang is a member of the special police anti-bomb unit and with the confidence he exhibited it is obvious he has been detonating bombs before this unfortunate incident. Nigerian Police are the only ones in the world that diffuse IED's with their bare hands(the most dangerous act on earth) despite their inadequacies but, they still do it just to protect their fellow countrymen and women. For all the fooolish peeps out here, you will notice pics of policemen detonating bombs with just hand gloves in Kano after boko haram kano attacks(NPF diffused more than 1000 bombs in kano alone without any special kit).
That bomb was detonated by someone watching from the crowd with either a Gsm phone or a bomb detonating device.

[b]RECENTLY, Governor Rauf Aregbesola at a public function in Osogbo said that Osun State University is not a private school.

He also condemned the action of the immediate past governor of the state, for increasing the fees the university is charging.

   He then ordered that the school fees should be reduced by 50 per cent. But to our greatest surprise, the fees is still as it was last year. For example, students in Arts Faculty are still paying between N160,000 and N180,000.

Also, his counterpart in Oyo State, said that all school fees in all higher institutions of learning, should be reduced by 50 per cent, but degree students at the Emmanuel Alayande College of Education’s (affiliated with Ekiti State University) students’ fees are still as they were in the last academic year. Presently, part three students are to pay N70,000.

It should be noted here that the Ekiti State government had effected a reduction in fees in all her higher institutions in the state.

There is need for both Oyo and Osun state governments to clear the air on this issue. I need these two governors to understand that it is a sin to make a promise and not fulfil such. They need to behave like our great Papa Obafemi Awolowo, who never uttered a word that could not come to pass.

If the reduction is for real, those concerned should be directed to effect the changes without further delay.
