Whiteshield:Dat over-aged nuthead invested N2.6m in it, he is yet to recover his money in full. ![]() I hope he doesnt go into depression. |
People comparing banks to a clear ponzi scheme shows that academic literacy may not equate financial literacy. Let me broach on a few points: 1. Granted, all investments involve a level of risk, but there is a clear difference between a risky investment and a ponzi. A risky investment though not designed to fail but may fail because of the risk it faces. On the contrary, a ponzi is designed to fail because no wealth is created within the system (it only a matter of when and with which victims money) 2. Banks consistently provide proof through release of financials, press release and even real investments about the nature of their activity and the source of their revenue. which of the ponzi systems have shown even a simple fund analysis showing, where they invested and the returns made? A ponzi is not in any way equivalent to an investment vehicle, there is no equivalence. |
People should be careful with information posted here, there are nairalanders paid to promote specific ponzi schemes. They will falsely claim the scheme is certified by SEC, EFCC and even CBN. Claim it has operated for over 2 years and post alluring reviews to lead the sheep to the slaughter. once the ponzi folds up, they'll either deactivate or go mute. A word is enough for the wise |

ObieD:Oga, dont come here peddling a scam. EFCC does not regulate any investment. And should we wait until it folds up with peoples money before we conclude its a scam? Ok, besides the fake EFCC number, tell us how this differs from MBA forex, pennywise and their likes |
Sysdatek:ignore that account, it's a troll account created to derail any MBA forex thread |
I'll advise everyone to ignore the Maxwell Odum's attack dog on this thread. |
Someone7:There is has been (and still is) a massive disinformation campaign on nairaland to keep victims confuse/slow to the reality that MBA forex is a ponzi. The truth is the longer you guys wait, the farther your monies go down the rabbit hole (laundered into irrecoverable media). Get a mereva injuction and start active recovery ASAP. For those discouraging victims from taking action based on some stupid MOU, I can tell you categorically that a common-law maxim is that those coming to equity must come with clean hands - meaning you cannot on the basis of an MOU justify a scam (except Maxwell Odum can prove in court that truly he lost these monies in the course of forex trading and show proof that the payments he made in the past were actually proceeds he made in forex trading). I won't be surprised if some of Maxwell Odum's attack dogs still lurking on this thread start barking because of my post |
ObieD:Every corporate account receiving a deposit of over 10M is automatically reported to the EFCC for review, say something else. EFCC does not certify the credibility of any investment platform, take your scam elsewhere |

Ponzi can adversely affect your professional career While MMM was in town, I worked with one of the enviable multinational firms operating in the country: great learning experience, great career path, pay was not bad (but you won't mind having more). It involved spending several weekends and sometimes nights working on one urgent project or the other. Once MMM came and was paying me more than work did for really doing nothing, it impacted my work ethics. For any professional, your work ethic is a great asset, don't let ponzi damage it. There is working hard, working smart and there is ponzi. Ponzi is not working smart. Dont get it mixed up. Recently, I needed to used a laptop at work earlier used by an entry level staff at work to retrieve some information. She is just starting out in her career. However, lately there have been lot of complaints about her work ethic not reflecting somebody with a hunger to work for success. Guess what I saw, when I relaunched the browser: "First Profit Investment". Ponzi, also operating from Rivers State (an apparent hotbed of ponzi), then I understood her recent lukewarm attitude to work. She is probably making more from ponzi (doing nothing) than she earns from working, so she has lost interest in learning at work . She doesn't realise working is her way of gaining valuable experience and connection that will grow her career for many years after First Profit would have come and gone |
It's great earning 20, 30 or even 50% passive income even if its ponzi, but let me share the damage ponzi can do : At some point in time some years back, I was earning hundreds of thousands of naira every month from MMM, let me tell you why personally you should be concerned besides the obvious (risk of losing your money if the pyramid crashes before you cash out): 1. it distorts your perception of wealth creation and investing. Prior to MMM, I had a fairly diversified portfolio involving shares, real estate investments, life assurance, cooperative savings and has plans to diversify further. However, when the fast and easy MMM money came, It dampened my skill in investing and wealth building; who wouldn't like to get 30% returns doing almost nothing ? . Well, once MMM folded up, I struggled to invest in "real asset" because I found the returns too low to motivate and stimulate my sense of analysis. I spent over a year of hardwork and discipline before I could rebuild my investment culture. For a real investor, your mind is your greatest asset, don't compromise it for any temporary gain |

I've missed a lot . Won't waste my time replying any toxic person on this thread from today |
fxjones:The guy is an old nairalander, but because of the stupidity he likes displaying he registers new a/c to try remain anonymous while threatening others. On this thread alone he has used "duada" and "drakpa". He has received his last warning about attempting to weaponise people's private information. The next time he tries it, I'll let him know stupidity has a price Everyone has a right to express their opinion on this thread (that is the nairaland way). If he cant live with it, he can go use some other website |
