CD/DVD Burner is usually written DVD+/-RW or just DVD/DVDRW and not CD/DVD-rw Combo. If it burns only CDs and reads DVDs, it's written CDRW/DVD Combo. He wrote it the other way round(CD/DVD-rw Combo) and still added Combo.

If you have combo added to it like this: CDRW/DVD combo, then it's no longer a DVD Burner but a CD burner and a DVD reader. But if you look back at what freelance left there, it has combo added to CD/DVD-rw. Now, does that make any sense?

He's saying it's a Combo and at the same time saying it's a DVD burner. If he had left it like this: CD/DVD-rw, that would have made more sense. I could easily understand that it burns DVDs and CD.

Freelance, remove the combo on it so we can understand that it's a DVD burner. Better still, just write it this way next time: CD/DVD burner. This is different from CD/DVD-rw Combo.

Now Afam please put me right if am wrong. In some states in the US u could practise prostitution as a legal bizness, and in some states it is illegal. So invariable are u saying that if Kano as a state has adopted Sharia as its legal body, and part of its rule is that all school children must wear a veil, then it is left for the child to choose if she would rather live in Kano to get good education and wear a veil or move to another state where she would not wear a veil and still get good education.

But what that constitution u posted reads is Sharia Court of Appeal how does that bind on all the citizens.

Please correct my understanding if at anypoint it is wrong.

Thanks. I have learnt to ignore people that find it difficult to look at issues objectively and when faced with frustration in trying to make a point resort to attacking personalities instead of the issues on board.

To your question, as hard and as unfortunate as it seems the answer is that the student will either abide by the sharia code or go to school elsewhere and that is because the constitution has not been able to sort out all conflicting issues not because it is right or it is ideal.

Until our law makers do what they need to do in the area of remedying conflicting issues in our constitution we will continue to see things like these.

OBJ would have done more towards this regard even though I will still blame the law makers at both houses of assembly for throwing away a golden opportunity to correct some if not many of the mistakes in our constitution.

Do not confuse issues, no one is calling you a hater for defending the rights of the christian minority in Kano state, that is like seeking cheap sympathy. Even in our villages, there are laws and customs that are very inconsistent with the fundamental human rights you claim the constitution provides.

Go to some Yoruba speaking states and come out to do what you want during the Eyo (I hope that's the correct name) festival and claim that the constitution provides a cover for you.

In reality, we tend to confuse issues when we do not understand them instead of doing what is right and learning more on any issues we may want to discuss.

What law makers are you talking about? The law makers that support the law or the law makers of other states?

This is not a FEDERAL MATTER, this is a local state government matter and the residents of this area should be calling their senators and councilmen to appeal this disgusting act. We practice a democratic government and not totalitarian. This is one of the reasons why people are so disgusted with the Muslim nations.

Yes, we practice democracy so if the state house of assembly passes a law supporting this it becomes law (if it has not become one already). If their senators agree with the directive will you allow the matter to rest considering the fact that those elected to represent them are in agreement with the law?

I do not agree that people are disgusted with muslim nations but I will agree that christain fanatics and fundamentalists are.

People (including christains) go to Dubai everyday to buy stuff, the West is ready to kill to do business with Saudi Arabia as regards crude oil, the West is ready to go to war (remember Iraq) to benefit from Iraqi wealth.

I believe that those who abuse the muslim nations on one hand and are ready to do business with them for their selfish reasons are the ones that are hypocrites.

Yar'adua did well in the area of agriculture (real impact with the masses), education, was not corrupt, returned a budget surplus of N6.5B when other governors are squandering funds, I learnt he lived a normal life without the heavy security and flambouyancy being attributed to other governors, heard he lived in his own house against living in the state house.

Have we seen such humility, simplicity and transparency before in Nigeria?

And yet some people come here to cast aspersions on someone even his political opponents (including Buhari that comes from the same state) could not point out a single fault other than OBJ selected him, what rubbish.

As for the thread starter, he had the illusion that Atiku was going to win the last election based on what AC was feeding him so it is not surprising that he had started a mudslinging excercise on an innocent man.

It seems religous fanatism and fundamentalism is on the rise (especially with the christains) without them realising it.
