The PDP just expelled the guber candidate on the party's platform in Imo state and declared that the PDP does not have a guber candidate for the weekend election.

Considering the fact that PDP would have easily won the guber race in Imo state and yet decided not to field a candidate (a serving senator) does it then mean that the PDP is not power hungry or is this a strategy to make sure the man never gets to the state house?

If a nation of more than 150 million people cannot produce a credible president, then the nation will soon hit the rocks.

Among the aspirants, I will vote for pat Utomi. If not for anything else, let us have a change.

These folks who have been rulling Nigeria from Independence until now should please go and rest.
Pat Utomi? Based on what? VON was run aground under him. Tell us his achievements.

I will rather stick with what I see today than root for change for the sake of change.

Again, why Pat Utomi? Your reason for change is completely unconvincing.

I am seriously anticipating a debate between Okotie and Utomi. Those two seem like the only credible candidates of all the Presidential aspirants right now. Therefore, a debate between them will enable Nigerians to really determine and vote for the more credible fellow. . .
A debate between the two will result in 2 Nigerians speaking big big grammar with one of them having vision but not how to actualize it while the other will use words that sometimes do not make sense without any idea of leadership at all.

Considering they are southerners, they are only wasting their time and money unless they want to be addressed as former presidential candidate.

This statement is really what ticks me off about Nigeria.
Why must the south always seek to appease the north for the sake of peace,which peace?

We have folded our hands and watched them run the country down a spirogyra-laden drain and we still talk of appeasing them.What nonsense?.
What do they have that we don't have?
They have hoodlums and thugs and so do we.

What we need is the best person to dig us out of this present hole that they've left us in.
The likes of IBB and Buhari ought to be languishing in a rat infested prison cell and not insult us by asking to lead Nigeria one more time.
They ought to be in solitary confinement where the chilling howls of the souls of Dele Giwa and all the people they killed will torment them day and night.
It is not about what you wish or what you like but about the reality on ground. If the reality does not suit you, tough luck.

Basically, you do not understand the reality on ground so can excuse your disappointment even if the issue of power shift makes a lot of sense in the present day Nigeria.

Is it advisable to use inverters to power Air Conditioners, Refrigerators, Freezers or Ice Block making machines? I am trying to market your inverters in Port Harcourt to a friend who has a guy coming in from Ibadan to sell his to people in the University.
@Otokx,

Thanks for your comments and question.

In reality, inverters if properly sized can power anything for any lenght of time as long as you have enough battery bank (and that is where the bulk of the money goes into).

But if I were to advice (as I usually do when clients request) things like air conditioners should be taken out of the picture due to the high cost of the battery bank needed to get a meaning autonomy.

A 3.5kva inverter can be used to power fridge or freezer together with other basic household items but you may require up to 8 batteries in most cases.

I have sent a 2.5kva inverter to someone in PH that wants to use it to power 2 ice block making machines rated @ 300W each with just 2 batteries.

So, it all depends on what the person is capable of spending. Some have bought inverters for less than N200,000.00 while spending over N350,000.00 for batteries even though they are genuine dry cell types.

Take care and do have a good Easter holiday period.

I mean the likes of Pat Utomi.
Utomi does not stand a chance. To begin with he is an idealist and not in touch with reality.

He cannot even communicate with the people he wants to lead.

And the most important point why he will not get there now is that no southerner will smell Aso Rock because power needs to rotate back to the north for the interest of peace.

Or, do you imagine that the Northerners were stupid when they allowed two yoruba sons to contest for the presidency for the interest of peace in Nigeria?

Afam, hi. I just needed some clarifications on what you wrote on your site. You said you prefer the wet cell battery but yet again, a few lines up, you said the dry cell type is the best. Which exactly is best out of the 3 types and what advantage do I get if I buy the dry cell type over others?
@Battleaxe,

Wet cell types are cheaper, readily available and makes sense if money is an issue.

Dry cell types are the most expensive, very reliable and not what you see in most battery dealers shops.

If you can afford the dry cell type then go fo it, I had a client that choose to get dry cell and we got 6 nos @ N54,000.00 each.

But the wet cell cost between N19,000.00 to N26,000.00 each.

In terms of warranty, the dry cell is far far better but again it all boils down to cost.

Maybe I should have stated on the site that the advice on wet cell is purely due to the cost.

Thanks for your time.

The One,
Have you thought about how peaceful it would be to execute projects in the delta if the federal authorities had followed due process in gaining entrance into any location in the delta?

1) Due process requires that the FG should not lay claim to anything anywhere in the delta, except with the consent and approval of the elders and people of the area
Due process? When did you realise that due process was needed?

The people in the Niger Delta are suffering from what they supported in the past when they felt the FG was doing them a favour by setting them against Biafra. What goes around comes around, maybe the time is now for all to sing a new song.
PoliticsRe: Chinua Achebe: Obasanjo Has Taken Nigeria To Lowest Level by Afam(m): 5:35pm On Apr 05, 2007
noblezone:
This is childish. For the avoidance of doubt, we the people of Anambra state counts OBJ as enemy of our state. In his reply to Audu Ogbe about the carnage caused by Chris Uba (member of the PDP Board of Trustees), he said that "wars are watched on television like CNN, so what was the big deal that the Anambra destruction was shown on NTA". OBJ said the kidnapping of a serving governor was "a family" afair. Yes, Achebe endorsed Ngige and the greater percentage of Anambra people also endorse Ngige. OBJ knows that Andy Uba his annointed son can never win election if Ngige is there, and that is why Ngige must be stopped at all cost.
As long as you have sons and daughters of Anambra in government from the likes of CBN governor to Dora Akunyili your statement stands null and void.

noblezone:
The crimes of OBJ in Anambra is enough for the people to revolt and that revolt is coming some day. If OBJ is the kind of president Nigeria must produce, then the south eastern states starting from Anambra must make haste and plan a formidable strategy on how to leave Nigeria.

Enough of the this nonsense.
Believe me, count Enugu State out of your plan, the people of Anambra must first get their acts together instead of playing this blame game all the time. The South Eastern states are stable but for Anambra state and the question should be "why Anambra".
PoliticsRe: Atiku Might Be Selfish, But : by Afam(m): 5:31pm On Apr 05, 2007

@Afam,

I wonder why you like to trade on trivialities! Which is more important, the rigging or the reason behind it? The focus here is that Chris Uba rigged the election and I repeat that he couldnt have done it without the police, the INEC and the PDP led federal govt headed by OBJ. I don't even understand what you are driving at. Is it that Anambra people should be blamed for the rigging? No! the people saw the open day robbery and shuddered, but what could they had done about it? Go to war? Do you really think that majority means authority? No! the man with the gun is to some extent the authority. That is why one Chris Uba with the backing of the presidency led by OBJ can do whatever he likes and gets away with it. That is why an Adedibu backed by an OBJ can hold the whole of Oyo state to ransome because the police that should arrest him are the ones protecting him ofcourse with orders from "Above".

What reason did I give you that I should be shy to tell here? the fact that the PDP led governemnt wanted Anambra at all cost if not for anything else to humiliate Ojukwu amonst others. Were APGA to had controlled the South East, that would had given Ojukwu a lot leverage in polical bargains in todays Nigeria. They also rigged in Ogun state to "wipe" the shame that OBJ "could not even win in his own state".
For your information APGA would not win a gubernatorial election in Enugu State, that I know so I don't know where you get this idea that Ojukwu may have control over the south east.

Again, hold your brothers and sisters that are working with Chris Uba and leave OBJ alone.

noblezone:
Furthermore, you seem to be so sure that Andy Uba will win election in Anambra State from the way you are talking, you might have your reasons which I don't know, but one thing I know is this that between Andy Uba and Chris Ngige, Ngige will have it landslide whether he shares money or not. I wish that we all be alive, and may you have a Chris Uba or an Adedibu with an OBJ as back bone in your state and then you will have understanding. Or no!!!!! For the sake of the innocent people who will die as a result, may it not happen to you. Amen.
Stop imagining things, I have not stated that Andy Uba will win election in Anambra State. I am only pointing out that you are just a single person and your vote is just one, so that you do not like the man does not mean that others do not like him.

noblezone:
Chris Uba does not have such a large followership from Anambra rather he has a "big followership" from Aso Rock. the guy is fortified by the Federal Governement of Nigeria led by Rtrd Gen. Olusegun Obasanjo. If that makes you angry, you can hit your head on the wall. Your president is winning, dinning, promoting and protecting criminals, stop accusing defenceless and innocent citizens of Anambra State. It is the duty of the goernement to put away criminals, but when the criminals are working for the same goverment, , I reserve my comment. Take care

NB: I am still searching for the link on that poll result, i will send it as soon as I get it.
The statement in bold refers, I do believe that you are the one hitting your head against the wall based on the type of accusations from the moon and conspiracy theories that you put down here.

I can assure you that in my state, Enugu State we can never complain the way you are complaining because we shall ensure that the interest of the state is always protected, not personal and selfish interests.

That Chris Uba could single handedly sponsor almost all the law makers in the state, a governor and the law makers at the federal level is sad considering the fact that Anambra can effortlessly boast of men that have achieved a lot in life.

You can blame OBJ all you like, after May 29 I will wait to see who you will blame, maybe yar'adua or Buhari.

PoliticsRe: Atiku Might Be Selfish, But : by Afam(m): 2:33pm On Apr 04, 2007

@Afam,

Facts,
1. Chris Uba could not have "single handedly" installed a Governor and others, he was only a coordinator for the team that did the job. The team included the electoral commision both in the state and national, the police and the presidency. That guy was an erand boy who did his best to do his masters bidden. The very reason he was rewarded. He is now a member the PDP Board of Trustees after "confessing" how he rigged election.

Tufia kwa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a nation, what a party and what a President?
So, OBJ and his team used Chris Uba to rig the election? Why would OBJ do that? I will be happy if you repeated the answer you gave to me on this particular question so the world will hear you.

noblezone:
2. Andy Uba cannot win election in Anambra state if it is free and fare. The Uba name alone is a smeared name in Anambra and PDP as party is a party agaisnt the people. A recent opinion poll shows that even Etiaba of the weak APGA has more followers than Uba of the PDP. The "never-to-be-allowed-to-contesst" Chris Ngige is leading with almost 70%. Go to Anambra state and find out even from school children.
Who conducted the poll in question?

Listen, you guys embrace and encourage bad people and turn around to complain about them.

Can you honestly say that a man (Chris Uba) that was responsible for coming to power of almost all the law makers in Anambra state, federal level and a governor does not have followers? You can only tell that to kids.

So you are neither pro OBJ or pro Atiku and yet you believe that other people that make up their minds based on the issues on ground are either pro OBJ or pro Atiku?

So, if Andy Uba wins the election today it must be as a result of rigging? What manner of thinking is this? If he keeps dashing people motorcycles, money and rice all the way until close to the election many many people will vote for him and when they do he will win and when he wins you should not attribute it to rigging.

@Mckren,

You are 100% correct, Nigerians do not even know what they want and they still fail to realise it.

@Obamedo

A peoples revolution will really be a great soultion, but how and with who do you start it? I read with great pains contributions of fellow Nigerians and I feel like weeping. It is a shame that rather than look into the real fundamental issues be-devling us, Nigerians have reduced a national disaster as mere theatrical saga of some sort bewteen two "strong" men. Majority have resorted to just jeering or cheering depending on whcih camp they belong. Its either pro-OBJ or pro-Atiku as if the nation belongs to them. OBJ is handing my state (Anambra) to Andy Uba as if the state is his personal property.

All I ask is, does power really belong to the people? I think our democracy must have another definition because the present definition must be "an American".
I disagree with the statement in bold above because Andy Uba sure does have supporters in Anambra state. From the youth to the old ones there are people that support him for reasons best known to them.

If Andy Uba wins the election then it will be because some people in Anambra wants him in so leave OBJ out of this.

The other time his younger brother single handedly installed a governor, sponsored virtually all the state house of representatives and even federal law makers.

I repeat, if you have an overwhelming majority of Anabrarians against Andy Uba he will not win the election. But is that the case?

Are you pro OBJ or pro Atiku? Or are you just the objective observer while the rest of us are missing the point and are either supporting OBJ or Atiku as you put it?
