Technology MarketRe: How Much Is Ups Inverter Somebody Help Me Please by Afam(m): 11:42am On Apr 30, 2007
Can't agree more with bani's warning.

Funny enough there are more sad experiences than good ones with inverter installations.

The best bet is to ask for warranties that are enforceable.

We offer 1 year full warranty, we repair or replace at no cost and no business can survive on this bold model if its products are not reliable.

That was why I stated that price is not even the important parameter as someone can sell you a cheap but very reliable inverter just as another may sell you an expensive but very unreliable inverter.
Technology MarketRe: WhoGoBuy.com: Website Where Nigerians Can Buy and Sell by Afam(m): 11:24am On Apr 30, 2007
Whogobuy is not an idea that will last because the very essence of ecommerce is missing.

Interswitch never had a serious plan to succeed in the first place.

Before Nigerians can enjoy the real benefits of online payments both the online payment gateway provider and the online merchant must have a very clear understanding of what it takes to start and complete an online transaction in a safe, secure and convenient manner.

There is really no point in stating the obvious, these people know the facts as regards their business processes.

As a single individual I setup an online portal where Nigerians can do virtually anything that makes sense to them. Everything was coded from scratch and I only do this at my spare time and here we have companies doing all the talking without any actions.

dayokanu:
A gov who left 7 billion in the coffers of the state while Almajiris flood the street of Katsina is a governor who lacks ideas about how to tackle the problems at hand. What is the use of money in the coffers when Katsina is still one of the most under developed state in Nigeria? It is one of the few states that still boast of cases of wild Polio in Nigeria and are still exporting it to the outside world? Are you still wondering why the state gov, after 8 years still travel abroad to treat constipation?
Is Katsina state one of the most under developed states in Nigeria or are you stating what Atiku is feeding you?

This is sad and will do more harm than good to Nairaland.

I have been banned 2 times (under 15mins on each occassion) for responding to insults in kind and I doubt if those that started the insults were even banned themselves.

On each occassion I had hoped for the ban to be permanent but no.

It all depends on why people visit this forum as I never visit sections other than politics, webmasters, programming, Technology market.

I have made it clear to Seun using email that he needs to change his style and must be ready to accomodate views and opinions that he may neither understand nor like.

I agree completely that this forum is losing its best posters and the reasons are not farfetched.

NB: But this thread should not be on the politics section as it has nothing to do with politics abi na for maximum exposure?

Cheaper is not always better.

Having 99.9% phone support may mean that the support team may be expecting complaints from clients.

These days clients never get to talk to anyone as almost everything is automated and information made available on the web.
PoliticsRe: Yar'adua Might Try To Implement Sharia Across Nigeria? by Afam(m): 8:43am On Apr 26, 2007
I guess one of the biggest mistakes ever made on this thread is to reply the poster to begin with.

A thread that is based on rumours, events in a state about 8 years ago etc is even gathering support from people who always portray themselves as christians, what a shame.

As debosky stated, since no one has been able to fault this man anything can now be used to rubbish his hard earned credibility.

PoliticsRe: Yar'adua Might Try To Implement Sharia Across Nigeria? by Afam(m): 12:42pm On Apr 25, 2007
This is the type of statement that is borne out of ignorance that tend to do no good.

Katsina implemented Sharia because the state house of assembly passed it into law because overwhelming majority of the people wanted it.

In Nigeria today we have seen OBJ push for certain things with the senate rejecting it.

We cannot imagine a senate where 2/3 majority will vote for Sharia considering the make up of the country.

Enough of this conspiracy theories and outright wrong conclusions based on wrong premises.

We still dey wait for Okotie to fulfill hin own.

At least we now know that Bakara misfired with his prediction that OBJ would not be president.

God help us all.
PoliticsRe: It Appears The PDP Is Not Power Hungry Afterall by Afam(op): 6:54pm On Apr 19, 2007
Yes ooo I have unshakable faith in Nigeria.

Things will certainly get better if we stop being used by politicians to achieve their own selfish ends.

If all the states conducted the last election the way Lagos state did and prepared to defend their votes, rigging will be a thing of the past.

You cannot get the type of freedom and good governance on a platter of gold, we must be prepared to face issues squarely.

We should even begin with our immediate environment where we have at least some form of control.

Those of you outside our shores and encouraging us to 'fight for our rights' would do well to come home and be at the forefront in the 'defense of our democracy' rather than be like our politicians who prod us on while their families are safely domiciled offshore. To my brethren in the thick of it, be angry if you must but remember that this election, like the others before it will come to pass. So while the politicians are at their mischievous best, endeavor to keep your sanity and keep trusting that good will triumph in the end.
100% in support of the statement in bold.

PoliticsRe: Atiku’s Name Not On Ballot Paper - Ac Alleges by Afam(m): 5:11pm On Apr 19, 2007
dayokanu:
@ Afam and Ohla,
Do you guys know that the AC candidate in Adamawa-Atiku,s state was disqualified? Despite that, people voted for him and his votes were voided. The number of voided votes in Adamawa were more than the votes of the PDP so don't misinform people that ATIKU did not deliver his state
So, in your own wisdom AC won in Adamawa?

Atiku did not deliver his state and you are yet to prove otherwise, you are only telling us things that may have been manufactured from AC.

If someone was disqualified do you expect the person's votes to count?

Do not make ridiculous claims just because you admire or like Atiku.

Again the simple question is: Did Atiku deliver his state or not?
PoliticsRe: Musa Bamaiyi Is Dead by Afam(m): 2:35pm On Apr 19, 2007

No wonder a lot of people dislike Ribadu but like Atiku even when the 2 stand on different sides of the corruption fence.
PoliticsRe: Inec Chief: Pdp After My Life For Losing Abia State by Afam(m): 2:35pm On Apr 19, 2007
Has PDP also threatened the lives of all the INEC commissioners that failed to deliver some states to PDP?

What of Lagos state? Did AC appoint the INEC commissioner for Lagos state abi he kept his own life at the cental bank?
PoliticsRe: Atiku’s Name Not On Ballot Paper - Ac Alleges by Afam(m): 2:21pm On Apr 19, 2007
I had thought that AC would have captured almost all the states by now.

For the presidential flag bearers

Atiku - failed to deliver his state to AC

Utomi - his party was seriously missing in action

Buhari - failed to deliver his state to ANPP

Kalu - delivered his state

Yar'adua - delivered his state

So, with all the noise only Yar'adua and Kalu can boast of having a solid base.
PoliticsRe: Musa Bamaiyi Is Dead by Afam(m): 2:13pm On Apr 19, 2007
If you are not involved in hard drugs then I wonder why you will have harsh words for Bamaiyi when his job was to stop those involved in illegal drug trafficking.

Sometimes I can't understand Nigeria, we abuse those that are trying to make Nigeria better and hail those that steal Nigeria blind.

May his sould rest in perfect peace.
PoliticsRe: Correction: Pat Utomi Is Still In The Presidential Race! by Afam(m): 2:00pm On Apr 19, 2007
What makes Utomi decent and credible?

He was given an opportunity to head a large organisation and the organisation went under while he was there, so what criteria are you using to rate him high?

Big grammar or what?

Yar'adua on the other hand has performed well in government, no single charge of corruption, even his political opponents cannot accuse him of anything including Buhari that comes from the same state with him.

Infact, for the simple reason that Utomi is contesting in a multi ethnic and tribal nation like Nigeria without realising the need for power shift back to the north after 8yrs, it shows he does not even understand the country or he is filled with selfish motives.
PoliticsRe: Inec Chief: Pdp After My Life For Losing Abia State by Afam(m): 1:47pm On Apr 19, 2007
That is Nigeria for you.

Every political party claiming rigging once they lose.

It is even worse when you hear people say the same thing. If PDP wins then it is rigging, iff other parties win then the election was free and fair.
PoliticsRe: Correction: Pat Utomi Is Still In The Presidential Race! by Afam(m): 1:39pm On Apr 19, 2007
I see someone who thinks he understands what he does not understand.

Thanks for the lecture anyway.

Since you are not a zombie, when are you coming back to Nigeria to vote for Utomi or will they allow you to vote in Australia.

Extract from EFCC Archives: http://www.efccnigeria.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=930&Itemid=68

Uzor Kalu is not credible, and to mention Kalu and Utomi in the same sentence is erroneous!
They are both vying for the same office and one has shown he has a base while the other is still floating.

dblock:
And what exactly determines who isn't honest and by what standards?

People aren't supporting Patrick Utomi, becuase he is young, we want him to be president becuase he has the knowledge, to power Nigeria economically. Nigeria needs growth and development. Poverty needs to be alleviated, Jobs need to be created. 95% of nigerian leaders have failed the country, Nigeria needs change and Pat Utomi is change, he is trustworthy and he has charisma (Well at least amongst youths).
VON went down under the watch of Utomi so I wonder why he didn't apply the economic skills at Volkswagen.

dblock:
The only reason he lacks what it takes to win is because people lack the itelligence to know what is good for them, and the elections won't be fair.

People want change but they keep voting for the same DAMN people. What good did Atiku do, when he was VP, what did Buhari do when he first came to power, what did Yar'Adua do for Katsina state, except for implementing the Outrageuos, dubious and controversial Sharia Law.

Utomi has a clean record, so he should be elected, he envisions and that is something that every good leader needs.

Utomi for president (Why da F**K Not)
Exactly, if the people lack the intelligence to understand him then he should change nationality and seek the presidency of a country where the people possess the intelligence required to understand him.

Why would an intelligent man want to be the president of unintelligent people? huh huh
Technology MarketRe: do you know what an inverter is? i have lots from the US for sale at good price by Afam(m): 12:32pm On Apr 19, 2007
@Taxman,

Sorry for the late response. Had an extremely busy day yesterday.

For the 1hp A/C

4 nos (12v 200Ah) batteries will provide you with 8 hours.

3.5kva inverter will suffice.

For the 1hp A/C, TV and decoder

4 nos (12v 200Ah) batteries (in reality you will be needing a little above 4 batteries but since you will use them in multiples of 4 you just have to stick with 4) will provide you about 6 hours.

5.kva inverter will suffice
Nairaland GeneralRe: Solar Energy by Afam(m): 12:19pm On Apr 19, 2007
Solar energy remains the most expensive form of electricity generation today and if anyone is hoping to depend on solar panels to run a home then the person must be willing to spend millions of naira to make it happen.

What makes sense today is backup systems comprising of inverters and battery banks and in any case, a solar system cannot be complete with inverters and battery banks anyway.
