Donzman:
Are we all stupid or what?. . .How can the Vice be corrupt and the President clean? What sort of world is that?

Lest we forget, the Vice President actually has no real powers. All he gets is what the president hands down to him so if for some reason, he is siphoning funds, the president definitely knows all about it.
I don't think so.

Atiku was the head of the economic team and was in charge of the privatization of almost all the government controlled companies.

Now, someone like that sure does have powers to make deals, loot funds and sell companies to friends and relations.
PoliticsRe: The New Sultan Of Sokoto by Afam(m): 6:43pm On Mar 19, 2007
And what is the truth if I may ask?

That arabic inscriptions should have not been removed from the naira?

That INEC should allow Atiku (someone already indicted by an administrative panel of inquiry) to run?

Please tell us the truth so we can learn from you.

IKUGWU:
Within a true democratic space, the citizens choose their leaders, within a fortified state (city) thanks to Mathew Kukah, one time activist, now politician) one man imposes a leader. In so far as I am a die hard Pat utomi guy, I believe in fair play. I believe that the attempt by the OBJ led FG to bar Atiku from contesting is not just unconstitutional but malicious. Nigerians know Atiku and would not vote him if he is not what they want. What do we also say about the disqualification of Chris Ngige, Peter Obi and ANPP candidate for the governorship election of Anambra state? Well, Yar' Adua and Andy Uba, OBJ's good boys can go ahead and contest but the eyes of heaven is on this generation and that is why Pat Utomi will be there when these confusions give way. OBJ like Atiku is evil.
Are you saying that even if a political party chooses to ask Tafa Balogun to be its flag bearer that he should be allowed to run?

Did Ngige submit himself for verification? Is a sworn affidavit a substitute for INEC verification?

Was Peter Obi's name even submitted to INEC as its gubernatorial candidate? Wasn't Peter Obi out of the government house when APGA chose Etiaba?

I do not know much about the ANPP guy but to suggest that INEC goes about disqualifying people without solid reasons is an unfair charge.

So, you believe that Pat Utomi will become president when the confusion clears? Good luck but it won't happen at least not in the next 8 years.

YES. Iwu also followed the constitution to the letter and the constitution of Nigeria is supreme.

Are you unhappy that twice as many Iraqis prefer living under Maliki than under Saddam?You would prefered that they say they are unhappy

If a plurality of Iraqis prefer this situation,then so be it.It is irrelevant that Bush might be happy .This is where the so-called Bush Derangement Syndrome .If a situation might make Bush happy then it is preferable that a contrary situation obtains which will make Bush unhappy eventhough that contrary situation makes millions of people unhappy

Many people delight in the suffering of Iraqis because they think that is a blow to the Americans and to Bush in particular.That is really sad indeed
Your response is based on a wrong premise: that the poll you posted here is a definitive representation of the views of Iraqis.

This is not so and that was why I stated that it takes on the average 4 months or more for you to see a poll like this and the frequency of such polls does not help the issue at hand.
Foreign AffairsRe: Should George Bush Also Face Trial? by Afam(m): 3:34pm On Mar 19, 2007
@4Play,

I will suggest you return home and join politics.

Your response is a clasiscal political response that seems like its coming from Orji Uzo Kalu himself.

Seriously though, for the simple fact that the reasons for the illegal invasion of a soveriegn nation have been found to be manufactured and mere lies and the resulting illegal invasion responsible for death of hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis and even coalition troops, Bush under normal circumstances and in a just world would have been sitting in a cell at the Hague waiting for lawyers to get him out of a very clear case of murder and chaos in another man's land.

We all know that the world is not just and that no such trial will take place but for public commentators on discussion forums like this one if Bush does not qualify to be tried for the heinous crimes against humanity then no one qualifies to be tried for such.

Angel, we are looking at the current political landscape and the array of aspirants on parade. Its pathetically becoming clearer that our choices might get narrowed down to this two katsina politicians. i am only asserting here that in a worst case scenario when we ended up with the double-edge gloomy faces, we may as well start getting ready for the difficult task of accepting one of them and my point is that the disciplinarian buhari is better than the sick obasanjo protege when it comes to getting us out of this cobweb of deciept and corruption.
We should vote for Buhari even when you have not been able to tell us why?

Yar'adua is a better choice anyday over Buhari based on their past performances in leadership positions.

We do not need a military dictator that carried out a coup and killed 3 Nigerians for drug trafficking while backdating the decree to cover such killings.

@Ugwunba,

Why would you complain about the response directed at the Sultan and at the same time state that we cannot allow the arrogance of OBJ cause wahala?

Why use the word arrogance on OBJ even when he is the president of Nigeria and complain when many rightfully dismissed the devisive comments attributed to the Sultan?

We should know where our freedom of expression stops and where those of others begin lest we are accused of the same thing we are complaining about.
Foreign AffairsRe: Should George Bush Also Face Trial? by Afam(m): 11:10am On Mar 19, 2007
@Easyy,

Thanks for those posts, where have you been?

Let us wait for his usual maradona style of response and see how he can manage to swim out of this one just as Bush stated that the most difficult part of his job is trying to link the invasion of Iraq to the war on Terror,

Obasanjo may not be 84 but I think he is over 70.
At the end of the civil war about 40 years ago and for his rank in the army he had to have been at least 35 years old. That would make him 75 or 76 years old now. methink
The issue of age falsification is a serious thing in Nigeria as it cuts across all class of people.

From the job seeker who dosctors his/her age depending on the job the CV is being prepared for to the civil servants and footballers who claim 17yrs even with some of them having wives and kids.

Why would a reasonable human being falsify his or her age for heaven's sake?
Foreign AffairsRe: Should George Bush Also Face Trial? by Afam(m): 10:45am On Mar 19, 2007
Well, it seems it takes on the average 4 months to get a single poll that supports this view, very interesting.

The poll will no doubt make Bush very happy just as it has made the poster's day.
PoliticsRe: Senate Strips Obasanjo Of The Control Of Efcc by Afam(m): 7:02pm On Mar 17, 2007
I think the creation of EFCC by OBJ may end up being his greatest achievement in the last 8 years.

Nigeria and Nigerians will be the ultimate beneficiaries of the EFCC whether selective or not for now.
PoliticsRe: Obj Is 84yrs According To Orji Kalu, More Funny Campaign Promises by Afam(op): 6:52pm On Mar 17, 2007
He said the present local content system when decisions are taken in Abuja don't work that what he plans to do is bring the fathers, mothers, boys, girls, FG, State government, village heads, traditional rulers to discuss how they will manage their land in the Niger Delta.

Another campaign statement

That he is about the most educated candidate for the presidency today. (No ask me wetin hin mean sha, because I no sabi).
PoliticsObj Is 84yrs According To Orji Kalu, More Funny Campaign Promises by Afam(op): 6:42pm On Mar 17, 2007
While switching between channels today I was gifted with a rare campaign rally for the PPA at Akwa Ibom state.

Tuned in just in time to hear Orji Kalu state that OBJ's real age is 84 yrs claiming that someone (maybe OBJ's son) showed him his birth certificate.

Now, assuming that is correct then it means that OBJ is a very healthy Nigerian and given the fact that he is not always rushing abroad for medical check ups then it would be safe to state that Nigeria's health system is world class to have a president that is as active as OBJ even at 84yrs.

More campaign promises;

1. That all Nigerians will be given free education up to the university level

2. That he was reclaim Bakassi from Cameroun

3. That Orji Uzo Kalu police will provide insurance cover for the Nigeria Policemen to the tune of N1M each

4. That he will replace local content with community content in the Niger Delta

He also made it clear that both Atiku and Yar'adua should have recieved better treatment at the new teaching hospital he just completed in Abia state instead of rushing them to UK and Germany for broken bone and cartarrh respectively while saving the money spent.

If it is true that he has built a hostpital that could have taken care of these men then na 10 gbosas for Orji Uzo Kalu.

All in all, politics is sweet if they do away with violence as you are bound to hear what you never knew existed.
PoliticsRe: Iwu's Fraudulent History And Nigeria's Democratic Future by Afam(m): 6:25pm On Mar 17, 2007
Heard Peter Obi did not meet up with the deadline for the submission of the list of gubernatorial candidates because by that time he was still out of the government house while his deputy's name was submitted by APGA as their candidate.

I see allot of TINUBU BOYS here, the best governor Lagos has ever had was Jakande, TInubu is and was a failure, he hasn't done anything outstanding, look at the health system, school and transportation. Increase crime rate and lawlessness. dirty street and as the chief executive officer of the state all this responsibility are on his shoulder so what are you guys crediting this guy for?
The typical disgusting response by an average Nigerian when he/she is incapable of making sense.

So, because people are stating the fact and you disagree with them they are Tinubu boys, it is a shame and it shows that you are not different from the same people you criticize on this forum.

I am an Igbo man working and living in Lagos so I do not know how being a Tinubu boy came into the discussion other than you could not make a meaningful contribution to support your erronous claim.

I really pity you and people that think like you.
PoliticsRe: Sultan Of Sokoto: Inec Not Serious! by Afam(m): 6:46pm On Mar 16, 2007
I just heard him on TV say that the FG should create constitutional roles for traditional rulers since they are always consulted whenever there is crisis around.

Less than 1 month he is already looking for constituional roles. I won't be surprised if the goivernment assigns him one tomorrow and he will become OBJ's chief campaigner, trust Naija.

Thanks diyobdw,

Sometimes I wonder why people give blanket condemnation of people without any fair and objective analysis.

Lagos is certainly not a dirty state by any standards whatsoever.

I also agree that 60% is very ok for Tinubu.

Afam how much is TINUBU paying you? even IKOYI and VI look disgusting and we not going to talk of OSHODI. SHOGUNLE or ABULE EGBA. I was in all this area driving and all I saw was disgusting streets. I even saw a dead body on the side of street in MUshin, what are you talking about clean? if Lagos is clean to you my friend, you haven't been any where but Lagos
There is nothing to prove that what you are saying about Ikoyi and VI looking disgusting is true so would take that with a pinch of salt. I may not have been anywhere but Lagos but with your analysis I would rather remain in Lagos than venture out of Lagos.

@Tinubu and Lagos,

I live and work in Lagos and I disagree completely with statements that term Lagos state a dirty state. The same way I cannot come here to waste energy to prove that OBJ is not a woman if any of you claim so is the same way I will ignore statements that are fundamentally wrong and incorrect.

PoliticsRe: Is Inec Bigger Than Nigerian Law. by Afam(m): 9:34am On Mar 16, 2007
INEC chairman asked a very important question as regards whether it has the powers to disqualify a candidate.

He asked whether INEC should allow a foreigner that has clearly presented documents that he is indeed a foreigner to run for the post of presidency of Nigeria simply because his political party wants him to run?

By the way the constitution is clear that anyone indicted by even an administrative panel and same accepted by the FG cannot stand for elections in our land.

Immunity don dey expire small small only God knows how many of these people will embrak on self imposed exile because after May 29th, they shall be held accountable for their actions.

@BigB1,

I do not have complete answers for you as regards your question but to suggest that the intervention of another country let alone the US is necessary is totally unacceptable.

Basically all the nations they have tried to internene in have become worse off and Nigeria does not need to go towards that path.

AJ City? I agree it may not be like VI but even in the US today we know that there are areas that do not enjoy electricity, infact they are not even connected to the grid to begin with.

He could have done better that what he did not I won't rank him as a governor that failed when we have people like Igbinedion, Kalu etc.
PoliticsRe: Us Wants All Candidates To Contest by Afam(m): 5:05pm On Mar 15, 2007
@BigB1,

You cannot advocate for us to tell it as it is and at the same time take offence when people tell it as it is.

Your positions lack any reasonable premise; allow the US to dictate to us what they want: allow anyone that wants to run for election run.

What manner of thinking is that.

Call it whatever you want but for you to constantly promote ideas that are insulting to Nigeria and Nigerians and expect not to be responded to is another wonder.

From IBB is the best man to become president to agreeing with anything the US says that is anti OBJ it is the same, playing games with the sensibilities of Nigeria and trying to sound as if you want a better Nigeria.

I hope you are not using fear and scare tactics like Bush has been doing in the US to control its citizens.

OBJ recently made a comment that I agree completely with.

He stated that Nigerians should disregard the claims by the opposition that he wants to postpone the elections because in the real sense the opposition does not want the elections to hold simply because they do not want their immunities to end and that they are afraid of what might happen after their immunties are gone.

On this analysis alone, OBJ is dead right!
PoliticsRe: Tinubu Condemn's Yar'adua! by Afam(m): 3:55pm On Mar 15, 2007
Can you please name the place you visited in Lagos because waste disposal agencies basically work round the clock all over Lagos state (to the best of my knowledge) so it will be difficult for me to agree even remotely with your damning statement about Lagos state.

Comparing Lagos State with Cross Rivers or Abuja does not make sense based on the population as Abuja according to the last census is even less than 2 million people.
