chidichris: @afam, ribadu did not frustrate 419ers in nigeria as the adjujuas are all arround and kicking. if you remember very well, a member of the house once said that almost every member of the senate is a 419. we all heard and we all know that so like in every other department of corruption in nigeria, the level was upgraded. i once again take you to another arguement say, CORRUPTION UNDER OBASANJO/RIBADU WAS RATHER ON THE INCREASE.
if you say that my english is improving, i can only say thank you and i will later congratulate myself as life is abt learning and improving by the day. afam, i see some high level of wisdom in you but u are handicapped in the area of exposure. because u have refused to know what other countries are like even without one tenth of what nigeria has as natural resources. obasanjo is your hero and nothing will change that but will anyone blame u? the day u take a trip to cotonou and come back, u will know that u have been in a hell all your life. obasanjo did not help matters especially in the area of corruption. all what we are experiencing today in nigeria are products of 1999 to 2007 regime. what did u say aboy the aged slowpoke now in prison? what do u say abt yar adua now mentally ill? what do u say abt ribadu and el rufai now in exile? what do u say abot ibrus now real estate gurus? what do u say abt seized allocations and oil wells, now released? what do u say abt a new wave of annointed candidature imposing soludo on anambra maybe a new form of democracy? what do u say abt the existance of prof iwu, maybe another hero of urs? what do u say to the shame of 2007 called election and what is the relevance to the intended electorial reforms of the yar adua's administration? we are heading no where with this criminal movements. our so-called leaders are nothing compared to world rated corrupt leaders as our leaders' second names are corruption. south africa for instance could take zuma to court over an alleged us$500 fraud, what do u say to that? tell me the possibilities of handing over billions of dollars to contractors with trace in such countries - no possible brother. when i was like u, i reason like u but today, i am able to compare and contrast and until u have this ability to compare and contrast, u will remain the local champion that u have been. finally, brother, if i have mentioned obasanjo 1 million times, i am ready to expalin it to u in more than 2 million ways and i challange u to dat. he that brought home, insect infested firewood has organised a gathering for lizards and to whom much is given, much is expected. if you have a father, do i even know? but the day your father will turn out to be an accreditted criminal of obj's standard, i will turn my satelite on him and there is nothing u can do abt that. if you have a dog in the name of a father who can be shameless as to sleep with your wife (afam) wouldn't u rather remain fatherless as a person? obj is just as precious as a dog and if the son can tell us that, what can u do abt that or would u rather excxhange your own father for obj?
@topic, if she has 28 houses in dubai, it will not be a surprise as many other nigerians have more than that in dubai and other countries of the world. the bad news here is if the woman will go down, she will likely involve some healthy criminals hence going down might be difficult. nigerian women are doing their best to cope with their male counterparts even in the criminal fields. what men can do, women can do even better. more criminal women in the making. good for the obasanjo/pdp proggramed vision 2020 dsigned to perfect every nigerian in every aspect of criminalities. Of course, anyone that does not agree with every single nonsense you write about OBJ sees him as a hero, what a pathetic way of reasoning. Meanwhile, I was debating anything with you so don't waste your time trying to explain anything as your level of reasoning is abysmally low. Enjoy the Xmas holidays if you can. Don't waste NL's bandwidth writing nonsense. |

The problem with a lot of Nigerians is that they allow the media houses to think for them and as such as more inclined to believe what the media wants them to believe whether right or wrong, whether facts or lies.
I don't believe in blanket commendation or condemnation. If anyone must be judged then objectivity must prevail. |

violent: The fact that people are so fast to throw the pains of History into the nearest dustbin is totally disgusting, to even think anyone for that matter will try to paint the Abacha name in White makes me cringe to my marrows. Generations unborn will never forget the man who brought us to where we are, stories about Ken Saro-Wiwa who was innocently killed and thousands of others whose Human rights were totally abused in the full glare of the whole world will never be forgotten, go ahead and tell their families Abacha was the second nicest thing after Peanut butter. Google up the name and you will find articles tagging the late mudafuka has the fourth most corrupt leader in History, he sent troops to liberia to restore democracy while it was denied at home, do we even need to talk about the fact that the entire Nigerian populace rejoiced over his fortunate death? In as much as i agree with the fact that the current civilian rule is a disappointment, but coming here to declare Abacha a saint is an insult to the entire Nigerian populace and even generations unborn 1. Saro Wiwa may be a hero to you but he is not a hero to countless Igbos he spearheaded the seizure of their properties and termed them abandoned properties. 2. Abacha single handedly increased the oil derivation from 3% to 13% and not a single % was added to it in 10 years after his death. 3. No one has painted him a saint and no one can do so because he is not one. 4. What he did in Liberia may not be appreciated by you but millions of Liberians appreciated what he did. 5. Not all Nigerians rejoiced at his death, stop spreading such lies. |

chidichris: @afam, at least, i support the god forbid prayer of urs because if God allows me into that aso, obasanjo did not kill. things like u will seize to exist in nigeria and there will be drastic reduction in the level of madness in the country. those of u who worship criminals like obasanjo may stand the risk of life imprisonment. kidnappers and armed robbers will get better treatments than those who steal state funds. afam, pls say God forbid again because nigeria will be forced to host and treat her citizens like people who have right to exist. investments like transcrop, renewed ottah farms must be explained in details. blind people will never have the opportunity to lead the blind again. our roads must experience the oil revenues. police must understand that election is not a time to be rich. profs like iwu will regret working for criminals. the leadership of the country will be based on constitutional provisions and not heriditary as it is in the yar aduas and obasanjos. these are some of my intentions for this country details will be made available in due time. Seems you are constantly over rating yourself. For over 2 years you could not even put together a simple correct statement devoid of avoidable mistakes and now that your sentences are getting better you think you are now equipped to write long sentences even though they are usually nonsense? The day you post anything on this forum without adding the name OBJ to it will be the day. How about inflation during Abacha's period?
Pls, dont say that Abacha was a good president to any son of a civil servant. You might end up in a casket.
How many months did civil servants go unpaid during Abacha period? I am sorry I am not here to defend every single action of Abacha so cannot answer your questions. I was specific about things he did right and rather than question them you come up with questions about things you believe he did wrong that I never even discussed. Maybe you are due to end up in a casket, that is your problem not mine. Stick to the issues if you can. |

Abagworo: to add to arthur eze's i must say that during abacha's regime crude oil was as low as 8dollars per barrel and he never borrowed 1dollar.in contrast during obasanjo's, oil went as high as 150dollar per barrel. Tell them. Abacha even gave out the very first GSM license in the country. I am sure a lot of us are not aware of this fact. He demonstrated that Nigeria could survive without taking instructions and dictations from No 10 Downing Street and/or the White House and we need people with such mindset to lead us before we can make real progress. There must be self respect, self belief and the willingness to move the country forward regardless of the obstacles. |

You are incapable of twisting my comments in order to achieve your selfish aim. Try again. I thought I wrote Mid Western region somewhere when I made reference to the coup planner's origin/region? Re-opening or refusing to allow wounds to heal under the umbrella of exposing the truth only serves one agenda - Hate, Revenge and Possibility of a re-occurrence. Certainly not when the same lies are being told by people to their children. Wounds will heal when truth is respected. You don't kill an innocent person and expect his/her loved ones to allow the wound to heal while lying about the killing by making look like the person was a criminal. |

Water will find its level with time and the time has come for the banking industry to be sanitized.
Ever wondered why a genuine trader cannot access N50,000.00 loan due to the very difficult conditions whereas another person can access N2,000,000,000.00 without collateral just because he knows the bank CEO and the funds are usually wasted and the bank in turn claims the loan is a bad loan? |

The Rwandese people do not like to open the wounds of 1994 yet we have war mongers bleating about events leading up to the darkest days in our country's brief existence. Unless you are a bloody hypocrite you will understand that no one is asking for or support any war of any kind but doing away with lies being fed to Nigerians by dishonest Nigerians trying to justify senseless killings of the Igbos based on wrong assumption. texazzpete: You can state this categorically because you've had the benefit of time to come to this conclusion. But how else did you expect the northerners to react or perceive that coup when
1. the main actors were Igbos 2. A whole lot of influential northerners were killed.
Perhaps they really should have killed Ironsi if they wanted to prove the 'detribalized coup' angle. However, they didn't. and to be fair, it doesn't take much of a stretch to believe that the coup had a strong ethnic agenda. They should have killed Ironsi? So because they did not succeed in killing him (even when he foiled the coup) it then means the coup was planned by Igbos even when Nzeogwu was from the Mid West? What manner of reasoning is this? Just to justify unwarranted killings of innocent people? I think we still have people in this time and age that are worse than those that took the decisions in 1966 and 1967. What manner of hatred would a rational human being have to justify such senseless massacres? |

The personality election made it clear and I am sure a number of people pointed that out so it is not about Afam saying so. You must show a certain degree of consistency if you want to command any form of respect from the users especially as a moderator and you must be able to tolerate opposing views even if you don't agree with them. Meanwhile, you deleted some of my posts that exposed your high level of inconsistency on the thread in question without any reason as non of the posts ran contrary to the stipulated rules on this forum - unnecessary high handedness and arbitrary abuse of power. The fact remains that for Ironsi to be marked for death and he foiled the coup should make it crystal clear that the coup was not an Igbo coup because the coup was led by someone from the Mid West and not South East or Eastern region as a whole.
Ojukwu helped in foiling the coup, Ironsi foiled the coup and yet Igbos had to be killed and blamed for the coup.
The envy and jealousy from other tribes were so much that they could not even pretend or hide them.
