Omagzee:The images are loading fine. If you have some HTML skills, you can add a header image even if the theme does not support it. As far as color goes, try red or blue but it should be minimal. Black should remain the main color. |
Omagzee:I think your theme is on point. However, i think it still needs to depict what the site is about. Apart from the name that tells me that it's a Photography site, nothing else points to that fact. What i'll sugest you do is get a logo designed no matter how minimal. You can have a logo where the name "FOTOTECH" is written with the first "O" being replaced with a circular eye. You do also change the header background to show an image of someone snapping a picture of just a camera. Finally, a little bit of color would do to give it more life. That's all i have for now. |
I'll have to give it to Hostgator. It's the one that I have used before and I can vouch for them especially their support team. If you don't mind, I can come up with a befitting hosting plan f or your website. What kind of site do you want to host? |
Brainloaded1:Smartweb just like WhogoHost and the rest of them represent some of the biggest hosting companies in the business. They can properly handle your website. However, where these hosts fall short is in the area of support. A lot of them take support for granted and businesses have had to pay dearly for their lackadaisical attitude to support. |
What sort of prisons do people go too these days that they don't even spend a year. Do celebrities now have their own prison? |
The first mistake you made is copying someone's else's domain. What do you gain by using a .com.ng variant of Harsh Agrawal's Shoutmeloud.com. What is wrong with carving your own niche. |
This is massacre. Chai, prof has suffered. I'm a fan of Patt Utomi but i think Uduaghan made some very valid points. |
Sapiosexuality:Your theme is a pretty basic one and i think you can add some life to it. See if you can create a simple logo instead of a plain text. The page also seems kinda bland. I mean the white spaces are too much. But on mobile devices, it's not as bad and can be managed. More people use mobile devices to browse anyways. |
coveredchic:While i agree with every other thing that you've said, i find it kinda weird that people say things like "If you remove religion and bokoharam or whatever, Hausa people are the nicest". I really don't know how that is supposed to work considering that every group the world over have their good and bad side. It's just like me saying that "Once you remove the love of money, Igbos will be the best people ever". It's their baggage and as much as we shouldn't generalize, the negatives keys into the equation of any groups whether Hausa, Igbo or Yoruba. You can't for instance say that just because the Hausas are so kind and welcoming to strangers, that they're not hostile considering that when the chips are down, violence predominates their territory. I hope you understand where i'm coming from with this. |
juman:Electricity is not why people are in Lagos. |
I don't see how Dangote's presidency will be benificial because most of his friends are the thieves we're complaining about. He's part of the problem. Oyedepo on the other hand, i may disagree with how he runs his church but i think he's a strong willed person. |
lofty900:It's not about not being able to do without it but about people being ungrateful and not keeping to their word. If i give you one naira, i expect it back and if you don't oblige, i'm ready to spend 1 million naira to get back that 1 naira and you can be rest assured that i'll deal with you in the process. So, it's not about the money but the attitude. |
twosquare:The first thing i noticed was that the site load speed. it was pretty slow. I thought it was just from my end until i tested the speed at GTMetrix and it shows how slow it is. Secondly, the theme is too basic. You may need to change it to somethiing more appealing. |
I won't say it's advisable but it does the job just fine even though i believe a laptop is your best bet. But since that's what you have at the moment, you're good to go. |
ayodeleii:Most hosting companies will serve the basic needs of a site as long as the site is not going to be using resources as much as Nairaland. The most important thing you should look out for is STABILITY and SUPPORT. While a lot of hosts will boast of stability, the only way you can know for sure is by asking past clients of these companies. One thing that i know that a lot of Nigerian hosts lack is a good support system. If something happens to your website, the response of the team is very important and a lot of them fall short especially the so called big hosts. As far as a stable host that serves the need of a small website is concerned, i can't put my money on any one of them. But i can give you whatever you're looking for with a 24/7 support disposition. |
HTTP is open to every website under the sun. Look around, a handful of Nigerian sites use HTTPS. You can migrate as soon as you;re ready to do so. |
There's no such thing as Best Web Hosting Site in Nigeria. What you should be asking for is Web Hosting site that will suit your needs just fine. Are you looking for a Wordpress Blog compliant host or a host with a 99.9% UPTIME or is support very important to you? So, it really depends. So, i ask you my friend, what do you want? |
Beeatiful Onyinye. |
donblade85555:I don't know if they still ask for it. The last time i did a verification with hostgator which was about 4 or 5 years go, i used my International passport. if i remember correctly, they asked for either my passport, drivers licence of National ID card. |
oodua1stson:I guess your current president can speak it better than the lady. |
Is that refuse? WTF |
A lot of things are wrong with your site. Firstly, the font that you used for the menu items and the headers are a no no. Look for something more simple and clear. Secondly, the color combination is not good for the sight. Yours is a tech blog and you should try as much as possible to keep things simple. |
Great point anyways. |
Pascalblinks:Why not contact their support team. That's if you got the theme from them. |
Freaknasty:Be careful who you pay your money to. There are many people looking for whom to defraud. You'll have a hard time getting an Instagram page. But if you need a Facebook page, i'll readily direct you to someone who's trust worthy. |
MarieAnn2012:Then go right ahead. But don't forget to consider the current exchange rate when paying for anything. |
donblade85555:The card you used in paying will be used for the verification. |
wristbangle:Exactly what i was expecting from you and you sure didn't disappoint. Yorubas must really be perfect since any ill that they're involved in is as a result of something else. So, boastful words from Igbos is the reason why some Yorubas don't rent to Igbos? Wow, you just knocked me off my feet. |
slendxy:I noticed this while in Owerri. Landed properties are really expensive down there and i kinda understand why it's expensive. |
wristbangle:I have not disagreed with your point and i accepted that things like that happen, not just in the SE but all over the country. Do you know that a lot of Yoruba landlords don't rent to Igbo tenants? How do you explain that? I guess you will have a cogent point to exonerate Yoruba landlords. That's not to say that there are open minded Yoruba landlords and there are a lot of them. So, you see, these things are not peculiar to any region. |
wristbangle:Thanks for reeling it out. Now, do you have any proof that the SW sells more landed properties to outsiders than the SE outside what you hear some people saying that Igbos don't sell lands to outsiders? Have you had a personal experience in this regard? I'm not saying such things don't happen in the SE but i don't see how it's worse or less than what happens in other regions. Igbos cannot be touted for been money hungry and not see the opportunity to sell land to people and make money and not do so because of tribal gibberish. We have to stick with one story about the Igbos. it's either we love money more than life or we don't. Which is it? As far as your second point goes, let's just agree to disagree that you're referring to lagos and not the SW/ if you think otherwise, i'll like you to tell us states that have appointed Igbos in political positions in other SW states. bare in mind that a Yoruba man was in the cabinet of Chimaroake Nnamani at some point. Mind you, i'm not saying Yorubas are not accomodating. I just dont fancy the fact that people throw it around like othe regions are any worse. |
