What exactly is wrong with Nigerians? No wonder we're far behind in every indices of development, because we run away from fixing issues the way they should be fixed.

A woman's husband has a problem with you and you have not even discussed the issue with the woman. Neither have you subsequently had a sit down with her husband to understand the grouse he has against you. Instead you have arrogated yourself as a prophet to conclude that he thinks you 're having an affair with his wife. Except you're truly having the said affair.

Since you've chosen not to handle the issue properly. Stop taking her kids lessons asap and cut every tie you have with the family.

PapaBrowne:
To be fair, the are correct!

That is one huge funny problem with Nigeria. We just like rhetoric. That's how people voted in APC without asking what they meant by change.

We are screaming restructuring without any group coming out with a concise study on how we should go about it.

I support restructuring. Maybe I should try come out with a document on how we should restructure. Infact, I would.
Restructuring is an English word which simply mean to change something. In this case, Nigeria. The onus is on the government to bring every nationality together so that we can decide to what extent we want to restructure. In fact, the 2014 conference came up with some suggestions. Why not peruse the document. There's no gain saying that the North wants the status-quo to remain which favours them. Sometimes, it just makes more sense to support the secessionist movement because nothing is ever going to change because the North will not sit and watch their ill gotten political and economic advantage being taken away from them.

No regrets. GEJ was a failure. He watched while Nigeria was being looted mindlessly. He needed to go.

I have personally been a little disappointed about Buhari but at least we proved a point: a sitting president can lose election in Nigeria.

"Igbo language is difficult because of the huge number of dialects, its richness in prefixes and suffixes and its heavy intonation."

I've said my own. I didn't know I was even being challenged by superior argument.
Whether superior or not respect people's opinion.

Now you have stated reasons why you think Igbo language is more difficult. One of which is because of the huge number of dialects. If i were to tell you that not only Igbo language has a huge number of dialect which is a valid argument, You'll tell me to forget it and just accept the fact that everyone knows that Igbo language is the hardest. Learn to look at things from other vantage points.

Drop this blind defence thing you've got going on. Everyone knows Igbo's a hard language to learn
Someone challenges you with superior argument and instead of you to tackle it, you're calling it blind defence. It's not enough to say that Igbo is harder than Hausa and Yoruba without giving concrete reasons. At least allow those that think contrary to air their opinions without suffocating them.

I thought love isn't something that is planned, so i don't understand how people who fall in love with their friend's ex can turn off the switch just like that. Though i can't understand that the "not dating your friend's ex" unwritten rule is predicated on the fact that you can lose your friend in the process because your friend's alliance most likely changes.

RomanceRe: Do Men Also Get Used And Dumped? by Afam4eva(m): 11:29pm On Jul 10, 2017
I think both genders are guilty of using the "Use and Dump" mantra.

Most women who claim to being used and dumped are actually good women who probably gave their all in a relationship only to be dumped.

Men who claim to have been dumped are those who sustained a relation with the financial prowess only to be dumped at the end.

For both groups, i say, take heart.

It's funny how the same you that has derided the struggle by exempting your group from the struggle now turns around to tell us how it's a metaphor for whatever. The problem i have with Nigerians is hypocrisy. I am not a Pro-Biafran person and even though i have not agreed with Nnamdi Kanu's methods, i have never thrown away the baby with the bath water. You have insulted IPOB members and Igbos and now you think you have the effrontery to being metaphor into the situation. Everybody should answer their papa name. If you have a grouse with the federal government, pick it up with them and don't hijack other peope's struggles to validate your own oppression.

You talk about Nnamdi Kanu's methods. Where were you when MEND were shelling the whole place. What can be worse than what MEND did and what Boko haram is doing. Yet, you care much about someone using his mouth to protest. Yes, he may have gone far a bit, but that's my opinion. if he had followed the rules of engagement, we wouldn't have been discussing this issue.

Like i said, everybody should answer their papa name. Urhobo is not part of Biafra both metaphorically and otherwise. We've heard that like a million times.
PoliticsRe: 4th Largest Ethnic Nation In Nigeria Receives Governor UGE by Afam4eva(m): 10:06pm On Jul 10, 2017
HarryDuce:
I don't know about the Ijaws being the fourth largest ethnic group in Nigeria though, but i can tell you they are more than 10 million. The Ijaws are not like the Igbo or Yoruba which you can easily identity by their speech, language, name or any other means. In reality, only the Ijaws of Bayelsa and Delta refer to themselves as solely Ijaw. Others prefer to identify with their clan, like the Okrikans Ibani's and kalabari. So you might have come across an Ijaw person without realising it.

And their names of course (especially their surnames) are English names in most cases.
This excuse doesn't quite cut it. I'm some who likes learning new cultures everyday. So, anyone i come in contact with, i always tend to ask them where they're from and i can even inquire into which village they're from. Even Ikwerres that you can't tell apart from Igbos, i have met a couple of them outside Rivers state after doing my due dilligence.

If Ijaw population is 10 million then Nigeria's population has to be hovering somewhere around 500 million. Where else do you find Ijaws apart from Bayelsa, Rivers, Delta, Edo and Awka Ibom. While they are a majority in Bayelsa with a population somewhere around 2 million, they're minorities in other states. In Rivers state, they're not more than 30 percent of the population and im being very generous. In Delta state, the major groups are Urhobo and Anioma (Igbo) and Ijaws can't be more than 500k. In Ondo, they're in the hundreds of thousands. In Edo and Akwa-Ibom they're not even up to 100k. So, where exactly is the 10 million coming from?

HopeAtHand:
The level of deceit is something else.

before Bayelsa was created out of Rivers, they gave us the impression that the area that is Bayelsa now was 8times more populated than the other ethnicities combined. No matter the election results from our area, their own figures always tripled ours.

Now Bayelsa was created and population census was done, we were all in shock at the figures for Bayelsa. It was a huge slap. A people with very low population of 1.5million thereabout defeating an area of over 5million repeatedly. They shamelessly doctored everything until they became exposed.. and a friend of mine who is Bayelsan told me that if not for how they doctored their census figures they would have barely clocked 1million. That he thumbprinted his 10fingers and 10toes. He alone thumbprinted for 10families.. pure deceit, that is why your hardly point out an Ijaw because they are very few.
I think it's because they live on water, so we don't get to see them often or not tongue

The 4th largest groups should be the conglomeration of Efik/Ibibio/Annang but unfortunately, they have decided to be kknown as different groups which is a disadvantage for them. The Gwari people that are found in Abuja, Niger, kaduna etc could even be more than the Ijaws.
PoliticsRe: 4th Largest Ethnic Nation In Nigeria Receives Governor UGE by Afam4eva(m): 8:47pm On Jul 10, 2017
HopeAtHand:
When it comes to fraudulent population figures, you have to give it to the Ijaws.

Ijaws were 4million in 2006, 10million in 2010, 14million in 2014... now Ijaws claim to be 10% of Nigerian population.

But you cannot meet any random Ijaw person on the road like you meet the IGBO, Hausa, Yoruba or Efik/Ibibio.
I've always maintained that this is actually the best way to know who has more population especially among the minorities. I see Efik/Ibio people every other day. Same with Edo and Urhobo people. But Ijaws, i really have to come to Port-hacourt or somewhere around there to see them. Abi, is it that they just don't travel out to other states like other Nigerians. I don't think Ijaw people are more than 2.5 million both those at home and abroad.

I really don't understand. I thought Cire80 said that they were Binis originally, so why would the Ika people have a problem with dropping their Igbo names and titles that they acquired due to trade with Igbos for a Bini one. Shouldn't they be more proud that they're finally going to be reunited with their bini people.

Btw, this should be moved to the culture section.
PoliticsWhy The Current Biafran Agitation Is Difficult To Defeat by Afam4eva(op): 8:12pm On Jul 10, 2017
The article written by erudite professor Wole Soyinka titled "Biafra has not been defeated" captures the very essence of the spirit of Biafra that has refused to go away even after 47 years. The 1967 to 1970 civil war is actually the closest than that the Nigerian government can come to defeat the defiant Biafran activist because unlike in the sixties where bullets were the best form of protest. Today, we're in a jet age where technology and it's use have become a major tool for social change. A case in point being the uprising in the Arab world and even the enthroning of Nigeria's current but absent president, Buhari.

The current Biafran agitation would have been a piece of cake for the Nigerian government to quell has the agitators towed the path of the Niger Delta militants who waged war against the Nigerian state. Instead they chose to adopt a different approach. First they started with civil disobedience which, despite it's largely peaceful nation gave the Nigerian military and other forces the excuse to open fire on innocent protesters. According to Amnesty International, over 150 pro Biafran agitators have been killed by the Nigerian forces.

The new tactic employed by the Indegenous People of Biafra (IPOB) led by the resolute Nnamdi Kanu has made it even more difficult for the federal government to launch an offensive on innocent protesters. The "SIT AT HOME" style of protest will make it very difficult for any government in black Africa to contend with. How exactly do you fight someone who stays inside his house eating "Ofe Nsala" as opposed to marching on the streets, especially when it is becomes largely successful.

I think at this point, the government of the day should sheath their swords and call for a round table meeting where everything will be discussed. They can call it a sovereign National conference of whatever name they choose. But the current agitations should not be mistaken for a tea party. The awareness is growing and people who are becoming more disenchantment with the country are joining the movement to register their displeasure. The time to act is now. As they say a "A stitch in time saves nine".

I just watched the movie "half of a yellow sun" and I must say, this guy is very talented. For those that are chanting biafra, I strongly recommend that you watch that movie, you'll learn a lot from it. You'll learn that biafra is not strong enough to stand on its own, you'll learn that biafra cannot win a civil war against Nigeria and you'll learn that war is not something you wake up one morning and fight. You'll also learn that the average igbo man is not built to fight like the hausa people, rather he's built to do business. Just watch the movie
Shut up and wish him a happy birthday. You talk too much.
