The fact that it made the list is an achievement in my opinion. |
NgeneUkwenu:You should be ashamed of yourself. So, this is his only achievement and he wants to be given a post meant for proven technocrats. Now, zuzuru nke izuzuru sim na iru puo. |
Agbaletu:I find this hard to believe. Do you have any proof to this? It's also pertinent that you know that the Eze ndigbo is not under the Deji of Ajure neither is he on the same level with him. he is independent of whatever ensues in the Akure Monarchical setup. He is simply the head of the Igbo community in Akure. |
OEPHIUS:What is this? What right has the Deji of Akure got to tell the Igbo community to appoint another Eze Ndigbo. This is what i call insult. It's the prerogative of the Igbo community to do so even if they think a thief will make a better Eze. |
Being a two term governnor does not qualify Amaechi to be a minister. I have to say what a lot of people have been eager to say. Amaechi is probably the weakest link in the nomination. His CV is the blandest of them all. No prior experience apart from being an Akpuobi governor and former chairman of Ikwerre boys association. It is an embarassment on this nation that someone like Amaechi was even considered. What has become of this country. Which ministry is he going to head and what experience does he have to that effect? |
I have watched with utter amazement on how every issue involving the Igbos are discussed with bias and clear sign of hatred. These signs of hatred is what i would expect from market women and motor park touts who don't know any better, But it's a shame that supposed educated folks have descended to a level where i can only shake my head on how bad our educational have barely been able to churn out book smart folks but not universal thinking folks which is the whole idea that UNIVERSITIES were conceived. Recently, a self acclaimed Eze ndigbo of Akure was reportedly flogged by a group of youths organized by the Oba of Akure for a wrong he must have committed. I really don't care to know what transpired as i was not there but one thing is certain, an innocent Nigeria was mobbed and beaten black and blue and instead of us to call for the arrest of the Oba and his accomplices, we're giving a clap offering to the Oba for doing what a lot of other Obas have refused to do to those stubborn Omo Ibos who go to another man's land to lord over him. Personally, i don't see the whole idea of Igbo Ezeship both within and outside Igboland except for a few places in Igboland that have history of Igweship probably influenced by the Bini kingdom as history would have it. I see those Eze Ndigbo of Lagos and Kafanchan as power hungry folks who self impose themselves because they havbe been able to acquire a little fortune. They may be idiots but they have not committed any crime that should warrant them being attacked. neither does anyone have any right to ban them. The last time i checked, the constitution of Nigeria gives every citizen the right to associate whichever way they deem fit. I don't know if the indegenous Obas are been threatened and i don't understand why. it's not as if the Igbo guy calls himself the Oba of Akure. The moniker "Eze Ndigbo" is just a way to refer himself as the spokeperson or the head of the Igbo community in Akure. So, i don't understand why this is an issue except there are other underlying issues such as the tussle for who heads the market. Whichever you look at it, if someone is seen to be contravening the laws of the land as empoweed by the constitution, he should be taken to the law courts and not attacked. Is it not funny that the state governors in these states always run to these land grabbing Eze ndigbo when it's time for election to solicit the votes of the Igbos in these states. All of a sudden, they're trouble makers and no gooders. Ngwa continue. |
Kcinho:In fact, I used to think Nnaji was limited to just Enugu until I got to know Genevieve Nnaji. |
ndufrank:LMAO |
Dannyset:Correct. The way I see it, one day Igbokwe will exchange blows on TV. He is not constructive. He seems to be trying so hard to be a spokesperson thereby insulting people. I have seen that guy call several people thieves on national TV even though this people have not been convicted. He needs to tone it down and argue constructively. Truth be told, Olisa Metuh is better than all of them. He just happened to belong to a sinking ship. |
IyaIode:Buhari will make sure that happens as he preferred Fashakin to Lai Mohammed but had to cede that position to Tinubu. Be it Fashakin or Igbokwe, what they both have in common is cholera of the mouth and Fashakin always seemed to be on the defensive when debating issues. |
I didn't really watch Fashola's presentation but i can confidently say that he won't disappoint. He is obvious one of the most clearly spoken Nigerians. Ibe Kachikwu also showed why he was appointed the GMD of NNPC. From his understanding of the oil and gas insudtry, i cant think of a better person for the position of GMD or petroleum minister. The Adeosun woman also seemed to understand the issues as well as the Lalong guy from Plateau who was nopt grandiose in his presentation but very sensible and commonsensical. Let me not also forget Fayemi who presented yesterday. As for those nominees that were told to take a bow and go, it's obvious they were given political consideration hence i don't see why some of thm made the list. |
kettykin:You can imagine. The only constant thign about Nigerians is shamelessness. |
Abagworo:Please, stop making everything about Jonathan. he only spent 4 years in the saddle. |
I wonder if Supersports will accept Oliseh back. |
JiggamanGh:The greeting "ete sen" is of which Ghanian tribe? I assume it belongs to the majority tribe. Here in Nigeria, there 3 majority tribes with over 30 million people each nd minority tribes that are over 1 million in population, so you're right, Nigeria is different from Ghana. We are very diverse and that has been our strength. That we drop our language to pick someonelse's does not make us united. |
Bishop42:How did she afford to buy the private jet that her son was seen showing off. How was she able to afford the house in London with her salary and perks as a minister? Of course let's defend her because she is close to us. That has always been the motto for some of you. Since, she's our thief, she has our support. Kai. |
Ufranklin92:It looked so at the beginning but i didn't regret watching it. |
SpicyJosBabe:+100 for this comment. it was succint. The truth is that ladies from the facebook generation will rather marry a Yoruba guy because they are guaranteed more freedom in marriage compared to marrying an Igbo guy. However there are other negative perks that come with marrying someone who is that open minded. So, at the end of the day it's about deciding what is most important. |
This thread is saddled with untold ignorance. The inter tribal trend has always been Yoruba guys marrying non Yoruba women mostly from other parts of southern Nigeria. However the number of Yoruba man/woman marriage is still obviously astronomically high but when compared to other Nigerian men, they are more open to inter tribal marriage in my opinion and Igbo women and South south women are also more open to inter tribal marriage than their men for example. The least desired women seem to be the Yoruba girls for reasons that i can't pinpoint at the moment. |
"Under the Dome" wasn't bad afterall. |
Antivirus92:I wasn't referring to you. It was a general statement. |
Antivirus92:Every other musician in the country troop to Lagos and not anywhere else whether in the west, south or north. Rather than the constant whining on where people choose to earn their living, we should proffer solutions on how to keep our musicians in the east. |
bigfrancis21:It's not fair to say that this is only common with the Yorubas. The same can also be said of some Igbo families. |
tayebest:My bad. |
dmcdad:Oga, abeg leave this premiership people. They're competitive, that's why their azzes are being raped all over Europe. |
Oga, Buhari has improved power all over Nigeria, so i don't know what you're talking about. Are you in Nigeria at all? |
I was gonna post on this thread but somehow forgot. @peppyluv2 I understand your sentiments and have also reasoned in the same light. But i've come to understand that no two group of people can act the same way. Our history and experiences are very different from each other and that informs our idiosyncrasy. being students of government in secondary school, we were made aware of the value system being operated in different parts of the country during colonial rule. We were told of how the British succeed in the North because they had a centralized leadership, quite similar to a socialist or communist setup where the government determines who gets what. The east on the other hand have always been egalitarian and another word for that is egalitarianism. This means that every human being is equal to aspire to any level possible. That ordinarily breeds competition unlike in the North. Our strength as Igbos is our egalitarian nature but it is also our weakness, especially in the Nigerian setup where UNITY in it's simplest term takes a group very far. So, in essence, Igbos cannot and will never act that those Northerners you encountered. As much as i hope we can get more united, we help each other in some different kind of ways that are not explciit. |
"Stalker" is looking promising. Nice to see Maggi Q again. But nothing beats "Castle" in crime series. |
Na distress we go chop. Oga, do something and stop playing on our intelligence. If na Jonathan be president now, we know go hear word. I thought they said they were winning the war or have won it already. |
Nigeria's biggest problem is Ignorance by ordination and choice. |
Antivirus92:Where they making money when they were in the east? it's strictly business bro. No hard feelings. |
@CFCfan I'm sorry for your loss. Your Father is in a better place now. May he rest in peace. |
