HungerBAD: Have you not said things and you instantly regret it? And you hide your head in shame privately?
This is an OBA Who used poor words, but could not for the sake of the Office he holds, make a formal public apology.
But of course his foot soldiers, left and right were apologizing on his behalf, this included top politicians, common sense will tell you he sent them to apologize.
What kind of remorse did you want him to show? Take a full advertorial on a National Newspaper to beg?
You guys should let a sleeping dog enjoys it's nap, after eating biscuit bone. Your statement could only have made sense had the oba apologized but as it is, he hasn't and doesn't think he's done anything wrong and here you are asking people to forgive and move on when forgiveness has not been asked. |

Even the private sector is a testament to this fact. You're spot on. I have always been of the opinion that Anioma peeps have more leadership qualities as they don't rule based on emotions. They are the most calculative of the Igbos. They're closely followed by Enugu people. |

Funny enough, he doesn't seem to know that North-Central is a part of the "Nigerian North". He claimed he speaks three main indigenous Nigerian languages, yet so ignorant. It's so annoying hearing the so-called Southerners who had never for once came top above me in academic performance, right from elementary school to the University, accusing me of "prarabulating in school. It's sickening and so pathetic. The ignorance is not limited to southerners. I have on several occasions witnessed where some middlebelters were arguing about how they're not northerners but middlebelters. They think being called Northrrners meant that they're Hausa or Muslim without realizing that the term " North" is just a geographical convenience. |

The new mauritius aiport which is shaped like a space ship was built for $300 million dollars and it is world class. It may not be as huge as the Oliver Tambo airport in J'Burg but it's big enough. Here are pictures i took early this year of some parts of the airport. Never mind my low quality camera.

They just go anyways and on getting there, you can pay them whatever. When these ones are speeding, you will see tears coming out from their eyes. |

I've heard a lot of my mind f and r a while now and u think its high time I threw it here for us to deliberate on. I have always been of the opinion that the east is not living to its full potential. We have the human and natural resources to change our destiny forever but I just can't understand what's holding us back. We are not moving as fast as we should. A lot of it has to do with leadership and awareness. We have some of the worst governors and administrators in Nigeria and our people, especially those outside the SE are indifferent to what is going on in the east. We need to change this. I miss the Eze Ndigbo Nairaland days. I think we need to go back to those days but this time, lets come together to mao out a blueprint for Igboland. This blueprint will cover ever facet of human endeavour. From Real estate to business to givernmeny. You name it. We need the contribution of people like spyder88 in real estate and so on. I nominate pointb to moderate the deliberation if he has the time. We need to be the change that we want. I'm tired of going all over the internet seeing Igbo discuss irrelevant issues in instead of focusing on more ccogent issues. |

BuddahMonk: I prefer to see more industrial Enugu to commercial Enugu, I wounldnt like much markets in Enugu but service industries and firm.
Contemporary ways of doing businesses like shopping malls and super market should be the inthing in Enugu.
Pls any news from ANNAMCO, AVORP, Niger Steel, International Conference Center We need commerce in Enugu and not markets. New York is a commercial city and we need a bit t of that in Enugu. We want banks, insurance companies, IT firms and to flock to Enugu and probably have their headquarters there. We often mistake commerce to mean the typical Nigerian market. |

wirinet: Also you are not making sense. Using your warped logic, the Hausa/Fulani that has more population than you should fall in line and behave like you. You now expect the same level of privileges like the Hausa/Fulanis?
I feel sorry for the Minorities that decides to join your Biafra. Here lies the problem. First you say Hausa/Fulani has more population than Igbos even though there is no census that supports that and you also think Igbos don't deserve the same privileges as them and you wonder why some folks keep shouting Biafra all over the place. |

wirinet: But people like you need to be countering the damage being done by Kanu. My business partner is often sad when he reads messages from kanu and he always assures us that his views does not represent mainstream Igbos.
We all agree that Nigeria as presently structured is faulty, but war hatred and violence is never the way to correct these ills, else we fall into George Orwell's "Animal Farm" syndrome. The problem usually goes both ways. Other Nigerians have refused to accept the fact that Igjos are been shortchanged more than. Any other group in the country, even minority groups are treated better and as a result, a lot of Igbos feel they don't have any future in Nigeria. Will you really blame them? As much as I get angry at the constant proliferation of Biafran topics without substance, I think this people are just acting the way Nigeria made them to act. We saw it in MEND and are saw it with Boko haram and we are now seeing it with Biafra. They feel that is their best bet at getting justice whether rightly or wrongly. You need notbto worry because these BH iafran activist even though are many, they're not in the majority. They mainly made up of Aba and Onitsha traders and a sprinkling of university graduates else, they would have found a more constructive way to actualize the Biafra in instead people like Nnamdi Kanu are fuelling ethnic hate and some gullible are simply sipping it without reason. |
Politics › Re: Igbos Respect Yourselves. by Afam4eva(m): 8:10am On Aug 20, 2015 |
wirinet: Afam you are one of the highy exposed and educated Igbos on the forum, so it would be a tragedy if you allow a semi illiterate like Kanu to influence your thoughts without asking questions.
We from the actual Niger Delta are often bewildered when we are dragged into Biafran struggles of the igbos. We honestly do not understand what it is all about. No Niger deltan would want to substitute Nigeria for Biafra. Even the Ijaws that lost the presidency would not join your Biafra. Most prominent Ijaws have joined APC, including Jonathan's hench men.
Please you people need to educate us on Biafran ideology outside hatred for Yoruba and Hausa, the struggle for the presidency and political appointments and more allocations from the national cake. Who is talking of Kanu. He is an idiot and I have made that very clear. I'm only advising the OP to be constructive in his advise. |
Politics › Re: Igbos Respect Yourselves. by Afam4eva(m): 7:38am On Aug 20, 2015 |
mekaboy: If i may ask, what percentage of igbos do you think want to be part of biafra?
what is biafra?
who will be the president and governors of biafra?
How come rich igbo men/women move around freely in other regions but require police escort when they are returning to their own land?
Do you know that more igbo millionaires and billionaires have been assassinated in the east by their own people?
I dont want to mention names. I call it madness because the problem of the igbos are from within .
We should fix ourselves within before seeking to become a country. When an Enugu person will see someone from ebonyi as inferrior, what type of country will biafra be?
Are igbos going to leave all their property and investment outside igbo land and relocate or what.
Biafra is better off and ideology that makes every igboman wherever he is to send part of his profit home for investment.
The chinese will be 10 in one room in another country, work hard and save to return and invest at home. After years of hardworking, they return and set up factories at home.
But an igbo man will buy big cars and houses on another country and be fighting for biafra online. tetenu na ura. wake up from this biafran dream.
Even ojukwu wanted to be president of Nigeria. Your thread would have been a hit with me but what I've noticed with Igbos who tend to follow the path of sanity is that they think everything is black and white. While I often get irritated by the constant bickering on Nairaland especially by my Igbo folks, I often cut them a slack cos I know where they are coming from. I understand the anger. Now, the advise is not misplaced except for the fact that you feel the need to run down the Biafran movement without realizing that it is the right of any individual or group to seek self determination. It's not a crime. It was and is still being done in Scotland and Catalonia. Just like you, I'm not a fan of Biafra as I believe that Igbos can become their very best in Nigeria. Not because I think Biafra is not workable or will become like South Sudan but because it is my choice. Other people know the reason they clamour for Biafra day in day out. The only way is for to make them see reason as opposed to running them down and everything they believe in just so that their antagonist will praise you and say things "Its because of Igbos like you that I want Buhari to give the South East the same opportunities as the SS". |
